1. The Mandalorian is amazing. Every episode is better than the last.

Well Rian Johnson wants to direct some season two episodes. So it being good might not last very long. Though I guess as long as he has no writing input, it should be fine.:D

I am waiting for Moon Knight to show up on Disney+ before I try it out. It has just gotten to the point where I have streaming fatigue. I just dropped Netflix last month and I do not miss it one bit. Though I might now, because there is usually nothing good on TV until February.

  2. First off welcome back prague, I cannot remember the last time I saw you on here.

I guess I would take the opposite approach as Raufbold_2, in that I hardly ever sign many name fighters for fear of losing money. That being said maybe Raufbold_2's approach is better. I don't know, I have never tried it that way but after reading their tips I think I might try that approach once.

Now keep in mind I usually always play as GAMMA, but I have started small companies in the past. The one thing I always try to do is...

I would say hire as many scrub/can fighters as you can afford and only have a couple of good fighters. You could always pit can vs. can and that way you can rebuild one of them for their next fight with a fighter you want to "push". I say "push" because there is always a level of randomness in fights and sometimes those scrubs pick up a win against someone you want to see do good.

  3. I thought the whole failure of Charlie's Angels reboot was funny. Elizabeth Banks tells men to stay away from watching the movie as it is not for us. Then when the movie fails she blames men for not going to see the movie.

What kind of ass backwards logic is that?

There are plenty of business that treat their fans like crap. You see it in comic books all of the time. You will have writers (It always seems to be writers, not artist for some reasons) who will go out of their way to insult customers, but then the same writer will complain about not having enough money for medical bills.

It is a simple thing, if you want people to buy your stuff you do not treat them like crap or tell them you don't want their money because something is not for them.

  4. I'm also gonna wildly speculate out my butt that the Future Arrows might end up calling their team "Young Justice" by the time Arrow finishes. XD XD

I read that it was going to be called Green Arrow and the Canaries. With his daughter, Dinah, and Laurel as the leads. It makes sense because I remember Katie Cassidy signed a long term contract a few years ago. Not sure if/when that contract was/is up but it was for like five or six years and it seemed like she signed it only two or three years ago.

TIEBREAKER: What will be the best match of these eight? Harley Race vs. Stan Hansen

  6.
Real world vs fictional?

I would have to go with Real World for the most part. There are just no good fictional mods on here.

    Current day vs historical?

Historical. I am sure there are plenty of great current day mods out there, but I just cannot get into them. Mainly because I hate it when the game becomes populated with game generated future workers. Yes I know I play the C-Verse the most, but to me that is different. Those workers have backstories and whatnot.

Whereas, game generated future workers have no personality to them and I am not going to write bios for them.

I just read an article where he said the racist group that was formed in the southern states of America during reconstruction era right after our Civil War (I am not sure if the group's name is flagged on here) where comparable to modern day superheros. In that they both wore hoods and capes. 9. That does suck.

I've explored the possibilities of a subscription service, but they always seem to need either an Amazon account or a credit card, and I have neither. Is there no service that allows you to pay with Paypal (like the WWE Network, which is probably the biggest positive about it)?

Not that I am aware of. I just tried to see if Paypal was a payment option they accept but it did not get far because they already have my credit card on file and I did not want to screw something up and end up paying for their sub service.

  10. While I dig that Black Lightning's gonna be part of the Crisis crossover next month, I'm a bit apprehensive about that because BL has such a separation from the other shows and feels fairly "insular" compared to them, which do semi-frequently operate outside the scope of their core cities (Batwoman being in the previous crossover is why I include her in the latter rather than the former).

Like, just as a hypothetical, if Kasnia from Supergirl and Markovia from Black Lightning had just been merged to be the same country, that would've been an interesting thread to tie BL to at least Supergirl.

I could be wrong but I believe that, that is intentional. I think that BL and Supergirl are not in the same time stream (alternative earth's for lack of a better term) as Arrow and The Flash. I am not sure where LOT and Batwoman fit in. I would assume that LOT probably take place in the same universe as Arrow and Flash due to the Sarah connection. I have never watched Batwoman so I have no idea if her earth is different.

Yeah...first episode of Mandalorian was great. It'll be interesting to see how it goes. I have to admit that I have a soft spot for Jon Favreau stuff.

Any one else watching Watchmen? How about Wu Tang: An American Saga on Hulu?

I fell asleep while watching the first episode of the Watchmen and have not watched any of it yet. I am iffy about watching it though because from what I have heard it has a lot of far-left talking points in it and that is not something I want to see. I hate shows that try to preach a political agenda on either side of the coin. Like Jasin said, I might give it a shot when the season is over so I can judge for myself.

I’ll probably check Watchmen out when the season is over.

Probably going to check out NOS4A2 after I finish Castle Rock. Anyone see either of those?

Also got Disney+, so probably going to watch Gargoyles and the 90s Marvel cartoons.

NOS4A2 was hit and miss with me. There were some great episodes and some dull ones. Overall I would say it was decent. I was shocked that the lead was not American (I can't remember if she is English or Australian) because she nailed the New England accent (I live in New England, in fact the show was filmed in my state.).

  11. Thanks BHK. And I'm intrigued on what project you were working on. What time period and how far did you get?

Slotting (my term, there's probably a better one out there lol) definitely worked as intended in that regard. I'll post something about early test results soon, but its petty on-point in that aspect.

I figured it might save time. It doesn't.

The slowest part is definitely adding in the biographies but I like to actually make them somewhat worth reading, so....

It was a fictional universe set in 1985. The first time I tried it, I had around 500 workers done and then my old computer died.

A few years later I started working on it again and this time I have 207 (I just looked it up). Basically I was looking for C-Verse workers that would match-up decently with real world counterparts. For instance I created a Harley Race type character and then I went into the C-Verse and looked for someone who was of similar age and stats. There was never a perfect match but I took what I could get and tweaked the stats to get it somewhat close.

The more I worked on the mod the more I started thinking, "Am I just making a Real World mod here?" That actually killed my interest in making the mod further because a lot of what I was doing was just a mirror of the real world.

  12. Champion Carnival - Night 5 (A Block)

    Masanobu Fuchi [4] vs. Stan Hansen [4] - 30

This is a tough call here because I could easily see it going the other way.

    Harley Race [2] vs. Chavo Guerrero [0] - 30

I am sticking with Chavo not getting a point throughout the tournament.

    Terry Funk [2] vs. Atsushi Onita [0] - 30

Jumbo Tsuruta [4] vs. The Great Kabuki [0] - 30

    Champion Carnival - Night 6 (B Block)

    Genichiro Tenryu [4] vs. Kodo Fuyuki [2] - 30

Umanosuke Ueda [4] vs. Dory Funk Jr. [2] - 30

    Giant Baba [4] vs. Ashura Hara [0] - 30

Mitsuharu Misawa [0] vs. Tiger Jeet Singh [0] - 30

    Someone hast to win here...right?:D

  13. Currently watching: The Mandalorian, Counterpart S2, Rick & Morty S4, The End of the F*g World S2, Black Lightning S3 and His Dark Materials.

I like Black Lightning my only complaint is they sometimes play the background music too loud and it drowns out what the actors are saying. I have not really noticed it during this current season, but in previous seasons it was very noticeable. It got so bad that I started to watch it with the CC on because the was the only way I could understand what they were saying.

  14. My point was that WWE or IMPACT still serve as gateway point for the wrestling globally. AEW is still finding international deals and NJPW is yet to actually expand globally. Things like dick flip or hand grenade are going to turn people away before they even begin to like wrestling and be dismissed or viewed as something stupid.

These are 'meta' spots, hence they serve the hardcore fans and hence they are generally spotted at indies and shouldn't be seen on any of the name promotions. That's all.

I am in complete agreement here. I actually have no problem with the hand grenade being used in a comedy based promotion, I actually found it funny the first time I saw it.

The dick flip is something that I think is a bit crass and very dumb. Now I am far from being Puritanical, but kids do attend these shows and I just do not think that should be part of a product that is being marketed to everyone. The move is also very dumb and it is stuff like that, that make me embarrassed to be a wrestling fan. Let alone to admit to being a wrestling fan to non-wrestling fans.

Oddly enough I was a fan of Joey Ryan's during his fist TNA run and I was hoping they would have pushed him a little bit more. But since he started doing the stupid "move", I no longer am a fan.

  15.
As much as I dislike the Bucks and Omega I do have to give them credit for their willingness to lose matches and get other talent over.

I still enjoy MJF better in MLW. He just seems to work better with the Dynasty at his side. I do wonder what kind of contract he was that he is able to work both promotions at once and work both promotion's PPV.

I really enjoyed Chris Jericho vs. Cody and Pac vs. Hangman. The rest of the card I was indifferent to.

The old NWA and AWA leaned more towards showing it as a sports. Heck even the WWWF and early WWF presented it more like it was a sport. Sure you would get comedy injected into the shows, but for the most part it was treated more like a sport.

This seems like it is an agree to disagree topic so I will leave it at that. As I previously said, I personally do not like inter gender matches because it takes the realism out of the product for me. The key word is for me, I am sure there are others who feel that way as well and there are others who disagree.

I did not like it when they did it with Chyna and I am not a fan of it now that it has become more normal (Though Chyna was far more imposing than Tessa).

Neither side is right or wrong as it is a matter of taste. People are allowed to have diverse opinions.

The right girl, the right moment, the right story... and it can work.

I was not looking at it from a matchmaking point of view, they were the first two elite male and female MMA fighters that came to my head (Though I no longer watch MMA on a regular basis and so I am not sure if that is even true anymore. Them both being considered elite fighters.). I am sure (granted I can't read minds, so I don't know for a fact) you understood that, but it did not fit the narrative you wanted to push.

I recall folks in the past complaining about smaller guys beating bigger guys. I personally think you should only do it every so often like 1,2,3 Kid beating Razor. If you do it that way it makes it more in the realm of reality because you could say it was a fluke, the bigger guy did not take his opponent seriously.

That was why I had no problem with Brock squashing Kofi. Realistically what other outcome would there or could there be?

The current fanbase may no longer complain because it has become the norm, but back in the WCW days there were critics of it.

If you are looking at it strictly from an entertainment standpoint and willing to totally suspend reality, I would say you are right. However, if there is a hint of it being presented as a competitive sport I would disagree.

Now granted I have not watched TNA on a regular basis in probably over a year. Therefore, I do not truly know how they present it. What I did see dealing with her facing off against men, it looked like they were trying to present it like it was a more legit contest and not a sports entertainment contest.

Edited to add: I actually agree with you about doing small guy vs. big guy every so often. You edited your post and I did not look at your first post. This was only meant as a reply to your second post so disregard that portion of my post.

  19. Happens all the time in every mat-based combat sport ever. And I dare you to fight Gabi Garcia and leave with your limbs attached to your body.

Very weak argument there. That is like saying well if you watch Marvel movies and do not have a problem with it there, then why would you have a problem with it in wrestling.

The reason why I said what you are saying is a weak argument is because I am not a highly trained male athlete. Therefore, I would get my ass kicked but I guess you over looked what I said to try to prove a point so point proven I guess.

If you put Cyborg in the ring with John Jones are you really telling me Cyborg would be walking out the winner?

  20.
Champion Carnival - Night 3 (A Block)

    Stan Hansen [2] vs. Terry Funk [2] - 30

Mainly because Stan was a huge star in Japan (Terry was as well but Terry would normally return to the States. While Stan would only return to the States every once in a great while.)

    Jumbo Tsuruta [2] vs. Atsushi Onita [0] - 30

  21.
I just mainly watch MLW.

I will catch RAW, Smackdown, NXT, and AEW during commercial breaks when I am watching other stuff. But I would not go out of my way to watch any of them.

Part of me thinks that I am just not interested in wrestling anymore. But then again I love MLW and I even bought their PPV, which was the first wrestling PPV I have bought going back to the dying days of WCW (I do get the Network every year in January just for the Royal Rumble so I guess my statement is not entirely true but I would also get it for NXT as well as the Rumble.).

  22.

I’m not big on inter gender matches, but Sami and Tessa work well together

I hate inter gender matches because they are just not realistic to me. Nobody can ever convince me that a highly trained male athlete would ever lose to a highly trained female athlete in a combat sport. Therefore, I would not even bother to watch Impact anymore.

I am also not a fan of OVE and Sami so that is yet another reason to not follow them. Also, I hate the Joey Ryan gimmick and that is one other knock against them, now that he has signed a multi-year contract with them.

Which is a shame because I was one of the last TNA holdouts who was still singing the praises of them. I look at the roster and it is just bad.

  23.
Sorry for the back-to-back posts. I just wanted to say I have been getting some odd ads on this site that make be laugh. Right now I am looking at an ad that has to do with farming equipment. Just a few minutes ago I had an ad asking me to join a church in North Dakota (I live on the east coast of America and ND is pretty far from where I am at). Then I got an ad trying to sell me some sort of weird Donald Trump hats (I did not even vote for him nor do I like him).

Just strange, I always thought ads had to do with what you are interested in. But apparently that is not the case on this site.
