  1. That's it. I think I'm at level 4 right now, but doing the rapid upgrade at 4% per week. I wonder if Gorgeous George sold shirts?
  2. In my game, the wrestling bear is now a tag champ in Florida. Anyone else having issues with merchandise? I'm almost through February 1970, and I am not seeing the individual merchandise sales by current month or last month. I am selling some merchandise and generating some revenue, but it's all lumped together....
  3. I think Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson might disagree. She said, "Whamalamabamalama, rock'n'roll is king."
  4. These promotions tended to run weekly TV with mostly squash matches and angles with promos for house shows in the local market. The TV was taped one week, and the tape was often sent around to other stations in the area with different local promos edited in. In Louisiana, TV was taped in Shreveport, and shown on that station. In the following weeks, that episode was shown in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and Lafayette--plus Jackson, probably Little Rock, and over into Oklahoma. The booker had to keep up with which tv episode was seen most recently in the market where the house show was happening. The money was in the house shows, often running two or more towns a night. Sometimes they'd build towards a major show at the Superdome or other large arena a couple of times a year. I don't think there's a really good way to simulate that sort of schedule in TEW. I guess you could run multiple "events" each week, but that might burn out the fans in TEW....so I'm just sticking with weekly TV and a monthly event.
  5. Just like any other workers, keep them out of the main events until they're ready and able to deliver the quality you want. I just started the most excellent Territory Daze mod, and my company has 6 women on the roster, evenly split between face/heel. So on TV I'll do something with them in preliminaries...maybe a tag match, maybe a singles with one or two other ladies at ringside, whatever...anything to get them on TV and build some popularity. They aren't going to work after intermission any time in the next few months, but they'll get to midcard, maybe even upper-midcard for a couple of them eventually.
  6. OK, I got this downloaded and started a game. I found some really odd stat anomalies, at least to my mind. For example, you have Dory Funk, Jr as better on the mic than Bill Watts and Dusty Rhodes. OK, in 1970, Dusty wasn't the talker he'd become, but Watts was still one of the best talkers in the business. Nit picking aside, I love this mod. Great job, and I look forward to many hours of playing with it.
  7. Did this, and I can see the links now. Thanks! Can't wait to get home and get this mod installed.
  8. I rarely run a save longer than a year of game time. My current TCW may be an exception. Currently in October, and I've already got a rough plan to get to Total Mayhem 2021....
  9. At the moment, I'm running TCW's King of Kings Tournament as a 16 man single elimination event spread out over two months. I'm running 2 first round matches on TV each week in October, then spacing the next rounds to end with the finals on the November PPV. The bracket tracker advances with each tournament match. Spoiler--Greg Gauge is going over to set up his first World Title run in 2021.....
  10. Thanks for the update. Looking forward to this one!
  11. I'm another large roster player. With TCW at Large size, I'm carrying about 60 on my main roster, and probably 30+ in development. As a result, I tend to run too many multi-man tag matches in the lower card just to get my guys in the ring on TV. I usually push brawlers or technicians over other styles.
  12. Watts did the same thing in the UWF, with Dibiase/Doc filling the Von Erich spot.
  13. You can also use the Sophie cheat code to max out your negotiating/management skills.
  14. I can see how it would be a quality of life improvement for some players. I probably wouldn't use it that much, because when I pre-book I only list the workers in the match. When I book the actual card, I fill in all the details before adding to the booking sheet.
  15. Meh. There are things I don't particularly like about this version of the game. There are some things I would have done differently. There are some things I wish could be added or changed. There are some things I like a lot. Bottom line, since this game was released, I've probably spent 100 hours or more playing with it, and I expect to be playing it for the next what--3-4 years until there's a new version. That's a pretty good value for my gaming dollars in my book.
  16. Whatever way you enjoy more is "better" for you. The beauty of this game is there is no "right way" to play. Do what makes you happy. In previous editions of this game, I've probably been about 60-40 Real World/Cverse, using territory era mods. In this edition, I've started a couple of 80s saves, but I'm mostly playing my TCW save in the Cverse.
  17. <p><strong>TCW Week 1, September 2020</strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>World Champ:</strong> Jay Chord</p><p> </p><p> <strong>U.S. Champ</strong> Mighty Mo</p><p> </p><p> <strong> TV Champ</strong> Joshua Taylor</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Tag Champs</strong> Bad Street (Matt Hocking, Logan Wolfbaine)</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Trios Champs</strong> The Syndicate (Doc Hammond, Wade Orson, Chris Flynn)</p>
  18. Also look at your backstage rules. You may be able to make a couple of changes to have a positive effect overall.
  19. I can't find how to create narratives with the ingame editor. I was able to edit a couple of the existing ones to do what I needed, but how do I make new ones?
  20. Can't really think of any reason a major company like TCW, USPW or SWF would want talent that was willing to work for free. Money is not really an issue for those companies, so it's no problem to either just hire a local guy, borrow a guy from development, or even sign a handful of guys to be nothing but squash bait. On the other hand, a smaller company, with financial struggles, would probably be all over the chance to get some free talent. Pretty much always can use an extra guy to come look at the lights for somebody on the roster.
  21. I turned it on for events and "A show" TV. I don't like this system as well as I liked it in earlier versions, but I do find it helpful especially in situations where I may not come back to a particular save for a couple of weeks. Checking the prebooking reminds me of where I was going when I last played.
  22. I finally pulled the trigger and put the belt on Jay Chord. Going to give AA a rematch at Hotter than Hell, then probably a triangle match with Greg Gauge, AA, and Chord at Road Riot #4 to buy time to get the US title off Mo (going to Huggins, who is money on the mic for me), so I can run Mo v Chord on top until Hawkins returns from filming in late November.
  23. I've seen a wrestler get some sort of bonus for being in excellent form. From context, I think it means the worker's physical condition. Poor form would be a fat guy, or at least somebody that's out of shape. I think this is a dialect thing. I think Adam is in the UK, and sometimes they phrase things differently than Americans do.
