  1. Yes, this would make a lot more sense. If you try to recreate one of the classic Concession stand brawls, you'd get a low rating with Lawler/Dundee vs The Blonde Bombers in Tupelo right now, instead of a classic angle people still talk about 40 years later....
  2. Didn't there used to be something like that ? Maybe back in EWR? Seems like I remember being able to have up to three sponsors? And they were anything from local bail bondsmen and strip clubs to national companies?
  3. So I ditched Battlezone in favor of reinstating Just Another Day? as the March PPV. In the main event, I continued the storyline with AA/Hawkins going to their third consecutive draw. This time it was a 30 Minute Ultimate Submission match that ended with three falls each. Slow build/open. Match rating was 90, a new best for this save, and the show got an 88, also a new high.
  4. <p>Some things I usually do:</p><p> </p><p> Check economy and industry settings. If it's really awful, maybe delete and try again.</p><p> </p><p> Tweak product, if desired.</p><p> </p><p> Book house shows to check for chemistry. </p><p> </p><p> Grab free agents early before they're hired elsewhere.</p><p> </p><p> Tweak events--I usually add a minor band/celebrity and set bonus to each PPV--but i mostly play medium and larger companies.</p><p> </p><p> Check for creative control contracts. I remove creative control when I find it, and never offer it. Your mileage may vary.</p>
  5. Dude you book at the speed of light compared to me. Then again, I am often somewhat less than sober when I play this game....
  6. Yes, you can have multiple databases and just switch between them.
  7. I play very slowly. I tend to play medium size or larger companies, and I'm checking lots of details with every game day--I look at card results from other companies, I check out all the little "Wrestler Incident" type stories, I look at whoever's contract is coming up to see if I want to try to sign them, or run their price up to make it harder for SWF or USPW. I go over all of the results from my child company--and they're running a "constant schedule" so they do about 3 shows a week. Checking for Chemistry takes a lot of time because of all the clicking through multiple nested screens. Checking pre-booking requirements takes time. Usually, I can advance about a game week, including running a TV show in 2-3 hours. If it's a PPV and a TV show week, bump that up to closer to 4 hours. I haven't reached the March PPV in my TCW game that I started in the early part of Beta. Part of the glory of this game is there is no wrong way to play. Do whatever makes you happy. In 70s-80s mods, I sometimes start my own company and edit the database to cherry pick the roster I want. Von Erichs have been fighting Freebirds in my games approximately forever. Bill Watts is ALWAYS at war with the Russians. Dusty and Ladd hook em up. Terry Funk raises hell.
  8. Taking an idea from this very thread, I booked AA v Gauge as a TV main event. Regular match, no gimmicks. It got an 86 rating, tying my best match so far, and an 81 show. Has anyone tweaked the focus settings in the product? I'm thinking about going to the one where the show grade is almost entirely based on the main event because I'm having trouble getting my upper midcard to produce matches better than low 70s.
  9. <p>The "proper" thing to do is to drop the belt in the ring. Youngman's possibly going to find it harder to get work after what he's done. If he does the time honored tradition, maybe he keeps some respect going forward...</p><p> </p><p> Or, he burns all bridges, no shows, possibly causes some litigation, and "falls down" in a parking lot somewhere. Or somebody hires a shooter to stretch him in a big show somewhere down the line...and you've got a storyline that might follow him around the entire COTT alliance....</p>
  10. <p>In my heavily modified DotT save, started my own company currently in March 1983:</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Ultimate Pro Wrestling</strong></p><p> </p><p> World Heavyweight Champion: Ric Flair</p><p> World Tag Team Champions: The Texas Outlaws (Dusty Rhodes & Dick Murdoch)</p>
  11. <p>I can't answer the poll because there is no option for roughly 50/50. I love my old school 70s-80s wrestling, but I enjoy the Cverse too....and I've barely scratched the surface in it after all these years. I usually play TCW, I've never tried to play in Oceania, Europe, or India (well, obviously). I've only done a tiny bit in Japan, Britain, Canada, or Mexico. </p><p> </p><p> Usually, I'll play either Cverse or Real World for a couple of months...then not play for a while...then come back and start a new game in whichever one I did not play last time. At the moment, I'm playing a Cverse game and a Real World game at the same time. I play a week of TCW game time, book a card, then switch to the other game and do the same.</p>

Mick was using Cactus Jack long before WCW and ECW. He at least used it in Dallas and whatever they were calling the Pensacola area promotion at the time.</p>
  13. Is anyone else finding chemistry seems to be a lot more rare than it used to be? I keep all available talent busy on house shows constantly, but in about 3.5 months of game time, I've only found maybe a dozen or so non-neutral chemistry notes in my TCW game....
  14. I've enjoyed this game so far. I do find the learning curve is pretty steep, even as a guy that has played every prior version. 2020 is not just an upgrade to the system. It's a whole new game that uses some familiar mechanics with a lot of completely new systems. To a certain extent, I find some of the screens counter intuitive, which access to information not where I'd like it to be. The game remains extremely clicky. As an example, to re-setup my house shows when chemistry reports come in, I have to CLICK open the email screen, pick 2-4 guys to pair up, CLICK to open house shows CLICK to book house shows, CLICK for worker 1 CLICK for worker 2 CLICK for "as opponents" then CLICK the next pair if I remember who I wanted, CLICK out, CLICK back to email, wash rinse repeat. And if I want to check existing chemistry, that's a whole other series of screens and clicking. I'd like to have my reports from house shows and existing chemistry available on the screen I book the house shows from. Sure would save time and clicking. But still, it is TEW. The Cverse is alive, growing and changing over time, rich in detail. There are still infinite hours of replay value here, without even considering all the mods that are and will be available. For the first time, I'm playing two games at the same time. One in the standard Cverse, and the other in a heavily modified DotT mod I converted from 2016. I'm fully satisfied with my purchase. If Adam announces a presale for TEW2024 this afternoon, I'll buy it.
  15. Oddly enough, AA offered to put him over. My babyface Major Star World Champ wants to put over another babyface that's only Recognisable . Thanks, but no thanks there, Aaron. Let's not pin you for awhile, and when we do pin you, let's have it be somebody that is both a heel and at least a Star in their own right, mmmkay?
  16. I try to use everybody on written exclusive contracts on every show, including the preshow time. As noted above, I'm paying them anyway so may as well give them a shot at improving something. Guys on a pay per appearance deal are just pin me/pay me talent anyway, so they only get used as needed.
  17. So far, I've run AA/Hawkins on top in both January and February PPV. I think the first match was Last Man Standing, ended in a double knockout. In February, I did a 30 minute Iron Man that ended in a draw, 1 fall apiece. Not sure what my main is going to be in March and April...possibly some sort of tag or triple threat...Basically neither guy is getting a clean win until Total Mayhem, then I'll put AA over in something epic...maybe Hell in a Cell, or a one hour iron man.
  18. Is chemistry a lot more rare than it used to be? I run my house shows with all available wrestlers (42!) paired up checking for chemistry, constantly updating as results come in, and after the second week of March I only have a handful of positive notes, and less than a dozen non-neutral notes.....
  19. Life happened, so I didn't get around to buying the game until today. The retail interface has been reorganized...very spiffy, but unfortunately close to Michigan colors. I propose an SEC skin with appropriate color schemes. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

I think we'd appreciate it if premade tags couldn't receive negative penalties at least.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I think one of the earlier versions, maybe TEW2016, had something like established teams with over X experience couldn't get negative chemistry...anyone else remember something like that?</p>
  21. I did convert the mod I said i did, I'm playing it, and I am not having any issues with it. Apparently your mileage varies.
