  1. I'm sorry, ReapeR! And right when I was about to start a new game, too. A new game I was probably gonna do my own titles for, and not get past the first month, and nobody was ever going to know except that I said "Hey I remember that guy I used to know ReapeR, he was a cool dude."
  2. I've been told DA2 will also kick them off the bandwagon, with it's Diablo-esque gameplay. :|
  3. Condolences to Jillian and her family. Rest in peace, little one.
  4. Wow. If this website is for real and still selling the stuff they say they're selling, I might actually be able to get a ton of FMW matches. Sadly, I don't want a ton, I want just enough to get a strong sense of how it's written. So Story of the F does sound like the thing I should probably look for. I did find a couple releases on the web (Yokohama Deathmatch, where Kudo retired, and some ECW vs FMW thing...) but I somehow think the ECW vs FMW thing will not exactly be their normal stuff, and if one of their two biggest talents is retiring at the end of the night, I somehow doubt it's an "average" show there either.
  5. Huh. Lame. I guess I'll just have to do my research the long way. (I just kinda assumed there was a show that got out on DVD or something that was "meh." I think I might have become too assimilated into the world of TNA and WWE where they put on PPVs with no really hot feuds to pay off...)
  6. Question for anyone: Where can I get as complete of a FMW card as possible that is neither their best stuff (nor most extreme) but not their worst either? A definitive "middle-of-the-road" FMW card. I've been doing research for a game I've been trying to get started, and I'm about 2/3 of the way through what I feel is enough ECW to really comprehend hardcore wrestling. I wanted to see if it was similar for the other really super hardcore promotion that I can think of. I can't really make a great comparison to an event in particular, but basically I'm trying to get a sense for what type of matches they use to build feuds, instead of just payoff matches. Maybe I'm not understanding properly, but it seems like in a setting like ECW, most matches involved weapons, but not necessarily going to the lengths of an FMW deathmatch, or even all that crazy, unless it was supposed to be between either two legends (Sabu-Funk barbed wire) or a big payoff match. So... I guess the closest comparison would be an episode of RAW, except that japanese TV doesn't have that type of stuff.
  7. Are we still fighting about that? Of course I'm not going to support him in that. It prevents him from doing what he's best at. Come back to wrestling, Chris! I miss you!
  8. That was a really nice MV. I should watch more of those to get back in the mood for some Puro! (Except the intergender tag title match, with those two goth folks against... I dunno, I didn't get a good look at them. The work was so bad. Oh, well. They covered the whole spectrum: Puro midcard, which usually sucks, all the way to 5-star excitement!) Edit: Been working my way through a Pro Wrestling WAVE card after watching that music video this morning. I was impressed by one match (Police Woman vs. Sawako Shimotsuke) and it's ability to be funny without being a comedy match. Sadly, I really find that comedy matches are boring to watch.
  9. Anything you can find from the Best of the Super Juniors tournament. In my experience it is the best way to get a solid dose of Prince Devitt. Then again I'm a Prince Devitt mark so that that for what it's worth.
  10. But Peter, I mean... the thing is... like... lazy storyline booking has been what we've been complaining about for the past few pages with Sheamus' push so far. Why should we criticize it with creating new stars, but not with selling PPVs? I am sick of people (WWE staff writers included) looking at the nose in front of their face instead of the road ahead.
  11. I still don't see it. Michaels made a bet and lost it, fair and square. Where's the revenge? Incidentally, I'd rather see a Barrett/Taker match, if only because I like the **** out of Barrett. I like his nose. I like his voice. I like his hair. He cuts a good figure and to an extent I'm happy with just that. As far as his in-ring work, eh. Everyone seems to be kinda the same these days. They seemed more or less the same back in the day, from what I've seen, so I'm not trying to be insulting. It's always been, to me, that your in-ring work was an extension of your persona, and I like Barrett as a character.
  12. Yes, they still work today. That's exactly what they did with Sheamus. He was out there putting jobbers in the hospital every night. Lo and behold, everyone thought he was a major league butt-kicker! Well, except us with the IWC. We all seemed to be like "Meh, he's only taking out jobbers." Ironic in a way.
  13. Like... I guess they could go the easy route and have Undertaker insult Shawn's manhood or something. Except that Trips already called him out. Oops. On the other hand, Cole is heeling it right up. I'm impressed. EDIT: Welp, there goes the farm. Cole vs. Lawler, Trips vs. Taker...
  14. But, and I'm not trying to be a jerk, I honestly don't see the basis of the feud. What did Taker do wrong?
  15. I will agree, though. There is potential for a relatively interesting story where Trips is portrayed as selfishly being mad about HBK leaving and blaming Taker for it, as long as Trips played the heel in it.
  16. Of course, opinions being what they are. But no, not really. I viewed HBK's retirement as almost cathartic. I miss him being around, same as I miss Jericho, but I understood it to be the case that he was tired and wanted to leave. So he got what he wanted and I don't think that Taker needs to be revenged. He didn't cheat or anything. He won fair and square.
  17. Well, you see, I'm bored by Triple H. I like his ring music, but it no longer holds the sparkle it once did for me. I know I'm a little late to the party around here, having only started watching 3-4 years ago, but I kinda think of HHH as the less interesting little brother of HBK in a sense. He's an asset, but not someone I mark for.
  18. It's Taker inside the house, just like the first shot from far away. It really did look a lot like Shawn, though. I thought when I saw it "Haha that looks like HBK."
  19. If my girlfriend said to me "It's over," I would probably stop going to her place. If her goal was to have me continue to see her with my eyes but just not as a relationship, then she'd probably be out of luck. If she called me a week later, and said she missed me and wanted to get back together, does that mean I'd turn her down? No. But I wouldn't have a vested interest in her well being for that week. What Chris is saying is that when The Rock was wrestling, he was our boy and we would see things because we liked his Rock character, even though he was playing The Scorpion King, or whoever. When he left WWF, we lost that vested interest in his well-being. Hence a negative. It doesn't mean we've forsaken him forever.
  20. Multi-man tag matches are stupid, and giving one to Barrett in lieu of a match against Taker, even a loss that isn't close, would be almost a slap in the face.
