  1. I mean... the idea of Kofi, Ziggler, and Swagger putting on a match that's as bad as you guys are saying? Unthinkable. I need to go into my bat-cave and re-evaluate my world-view now.
  2. Well, I understand you having a pet peeve, WC, and I'm not trying to take that from you. I'm trying to say that whether or not you're entitled to feel morally superior (I suppose you ARE entitled to that feeling), they're not scum for being less than perfect in your eyes. In fact, as I said earlier, the only person they're stealing from is someone who they could NEVER hurt enough to put in the poor house. [EDIT: To clarify; with that, I'll extend the offer to agree to disagree.] So, was the rest of the PPV good? I only heard people refer to the first 3 matches so far.
  3. If you want to debate their motives, I'm sorry but this thread isn't the time or place -- I'd love to debate in a PM. But to be honest my comments have been almost exclusively driven by a disagreement with Wrestling Century. Lazerbeak I make an almost complete qualified agreement with; Basmat01 has points that I want to agree with but I stronly condemn his arguing style. So it pretty much comes down to WC.
  4. That's exactly what I said above, but I edited it in because I mostly intended that post as a response to Wrestling Century. The fact is that if you want to pirate PSP games (the most pirated game system, AFAIK) then that's your prerogative. But if you want to do it on Sony's official forums, you're stupid. The fact is that Arlie and the guys need to stay in business, and even though the odds are astronomical, the FBI could come down on their heads if they felt like it, if we were to sit here and trade stream links. EDIT: A quick citation with regards to my argument that downloads do not hurt sales, from Oberholzer (Harvard Business School) and Strumpf (UNC Chapel Hill)'s research paper published in 2004: "We find that file sharing has no statistically significant effect on purchases of the average album in our sample. Moreover, the estimates are of rather modest size when compared to the drastic reduction in sales in the music industry. At most, file sharing can explain a tiny fraction of this decline." For more information on their study, including their research methodology and data, you can read their paper here: http://www.unc.edu/~cigar/papers/FileSharing_March2004.pdf The RIAA insists they're crazy, but I don't trust anyone who is called a liar by empirical research.
  5. Some people don't. But Wrestling Century -- ever been walking through the mall, and then looked into an electronics store as you passed by? Then you saw, as it happens, a new Blu-Ray movie showing on a TV, so you sort of look over without stopping? YOU HURT THE ECONOMY BY YOUR LOGIC. The simple fact is that pirating does not hurt the economy. People who are willing to buy still do. People who aren't pirate. It tends to actually help brand strength because the simple fact is that every person who is a fan of yours is another chance for someone who WILL pay to see that person and say, I wanna be like that guy.
  6. No, Wrestling Century. People who pirate don't actually hurt sales. Most people who pirate video are the people who would skip a $50 PPV rather than watch it, except if they get to pirate it. They're basically ripping off WWE, sure. But are they ripping off CM Punk? Is his paycheck getting hurt by them streaming? No, it's not. Vince's maybe, but should I be looking out for a billionaire's interests? Where's he when I need to go to college to become a productive member of society? OH, so you're saying that I should feel morally obligated because I'm a proletariat and he's a captain of industry? I refuse. Secondly, I think MrCanada was actually saying that they're not providing him with entertainment. EDIT: I will, however, agree with lazorbeak below. I don't have a problem with people who pirate media, but... site run by GDS might not be the place.
  7. Come to think of it, isn't that exactly what IWC Darling RoH was doing with Austin Aries and Tyler Black in their feud earlier this year?
  8. Glad to hear that, Liontamer! I hope the holidays go well for you.
  9. Stupid Sony Vegas. Having trouble getting a video format that will output in 720p and such, but editing seems so much easier without having to measure to the frame like I was doing with my first attempt.
  10. Not to sound like I'm jumping on the bandwagon, but I have to make a similar point. First, Nexus hasn't been THAT predictable, but there's only so many ways it can go. Secondly, when you try to go straight for the jugular on "unpredictability," you'll find it takes about 3 shows to reach the limits of making any sense with what you're doing. Then, as my time in the TNA thread told me back when Hogan/Bischoff took over, the fans start to get mad about your storylines being non-sequiter, confused, and chaotic. I'd say that there have been many times WWE was TOO predictable with Cena, like his I Quit match with Orton, where I was watching the match thinking they couldn't POSSIBLY be so predictable as to just have Cena win all I Quit matches and as usual Super Cena beat Orton after Orton beat on Cena for 45 minutes, and then Cena gets one submission hold on, once. But it's not the case here, IMO.
  11. Just started watching some ROH and that's given me some of the old TEW itch back. Hoping I might be able to get back into belt-making, especially since I think I'd like to try something other than the Submission title chase for a while... Maybe a new company. Thinking I'd go with something with funny rules like the Submission title but different. Maybe a 1-count WHC with no closed-handed blows? I dunno. That's what I was thinking. That penny a page back looks great, METAL. EDIT: Good news: Have a belt idea. Have a promotion idea. It's all coming together quite nicely. Bad news which is kinda good news: I wanted to try to record it since I never did get around to finishing that tutorial for Illustrator that I started with the IWGP belt I did like a bajillion years ago. And I'm lazy about recording things like that so it could be a few days or weeks.
  12. I don't see it. Cena's not going to turn, at least not like that. I could see it happening the OPPOSITE way, where Orton RKOs Cena and then lays his lifeless body over [whoever] for the pin. But not the other way round.
  13. Listen, Logan. I think we can all agree that it would've been rude to say that to you, because it would've heavily implied that we didn't trust your taste in women.
  14. Jeez Johnny! YOU SPOILED IT FOR ME. At least I still don't know whether Charlie Brown or Jesus wins this match. ()
  15. ... Oh god. Just thinking about Remi giving the smackdown to me in the past makes me want to curl up in the fetal position and never wake up again.
  16. <p>I think what he means, Brashley, is that it begs the question -- why is it so great that he's from MMA? Essentially, it means that either you don't play up the MMA aspect, or you get egg on your face because you have to tell people, "This is a guy who really can kick butt" as opposed to... what, Randy Orton who puts people in the hospital? Or Sheamus, who broke a guy's neck and forced him to retire? Or... you tell people that Orton's punt doesn't REALLY hurt them, and Sheamus didn't REALLY cause Jamie Noble to be injured he's just fine in FCW. </p><p> </p><p> Even though everyone knows that wrestling is fake, there's a certain suspension of disbelief that is ruined when they <strong>tell</strong> you it's fake.</p>
  17. <p>Morning everyone. It turns out I've been gone the past few weeks. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/redface.png.900245280682ef18c5d82399a93c5827.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> I was kinda amused when they couldn't think of anyone who was comparable to Mark Henry on monday, now that I'm watching (I've not really been watching TV lately... kinda the reason I kept not coming here, was cause I haven't been watching wrestling. Or anything else.)</p>
  18. Wow. I have been real lazy about watching RAW lately, so if Bryan's been putting on matches like that for the whole time, then I apologize for missing them, but DANG. I'm sold. Ziggler/Bryan was an incredible match, and now I like both of them more because of it.
  19. I've never met a person like that. In fact, I've seen 5 "U CAN'T C ME" shirts in my time, and only 1 of those was on a kid. Cena's really popular outside the IWC.
  20. Usually it's not that big a deal so nobody gets the smackdown, but Adam tends to come along when things start to get out of hand, or might eventually get out of hand. It's not some attack on you.
  21. Have we established that he's leaving next year? EDIT: Because I think I'm the first person to have suggested ending it but not right now. Everyone seems to be saying that they need to end it this year. Or not ending it ever.
  22. I'm sorry, Stennick, are you implying that the Miz wouldn't leave ladies feeling AAAAAAWWWWWWESOOOOOOOME?
  23. I'd have to agree (tangentially) with Stennick on one point. Now that I've slept on it, there's no way Miz or whoever your preference of young up-and-comer could take the streak this year. I think if WWE decided to put a real strong, consistent push behind a Miz or Sheamus for the next 15 months, then you might be able to get a convincing result out of it. I don't really like wilts's idea in that it would take WM, an event that is bigger than any one person on it, and make it "Night of Miz." That, to me, would cheapen it.
