  1. Disclaimer: Also not entering the giveaway, but grats on this great initiative. To me it had to be HBK winning the world title in 2002, upon his return. That was epic stuff. I am going to go with that one, but damn, so many good memories, it's hard to choose.
  2. Same, in my experience. Never needed to change them to tv driven, or change them in any ways. They usually do a decent amount of tv shows.
  3. Same. I like to deal with that at max as well, especially in WMMA5. Actual full screen would be of no interest and just a pain. It would be super if we could set some of these settings in game, as to adjust its own resolution to adapt itself as we want it, but the full screen would just be a pain and I see no advantages from it. I don't think it would be worth the shot, considering most people wouldn't even use it anyway. Just as long as I can keep adjusting the size with my resolution (and that the minimum requirements don't rise in a disproportional way, in case of future versions) to to put it at a decent scale, it will be fine.
  4. Sorry for the double post, forgot how to reduce img size on this forum, so apologies for that. Also this example is 1600x1024 Res. I could go higher, as anyone with a monitor supporting it, but I think the gist is here.
  5. As I said, if it is like WMMA5, all you need is to have a monitor that goes beyond the minimum game resolution to adjust to smaller size. Not that I care about it, as full screen is cool, but here is an example. And yes, that is the mighty Bliss.
  6. You will be able to, as long as you use a bigger resolution than that. That is the full screen res and it will not work below it, but it will work above it, if it is like WMMA5.
  7. I always hoped for major success for the guy. If he could have become recipient of a yes movement type of thing with his old gimmick and became a successful guy with multiple world title runs, i think it would be a great way to not just bring it back, but take the gimmick to posterity eventually, if he one days passes it to a family member or sells it. I liked the serious stuff, but I wouldn't mind him returning to that gimmick if it was a success story. It's always good to see some of the veterans, a lot of of those being some of our favorite guys, getting a break.
  8. WMMA5 has been patched 2 months ago and since i had not opened it days before said patch, I just realized it yesterday. Given that it is still a great game that holds up the test of time, and the most modern Ryland game, I will probably be using that to help the time go by faster until the TEW 2020 release. Just take my money now, dude.
  9. You can convert the TEW 16 mods through the game converter, as with previous iterations of the game did for its predecessors.
  10. It wouldn't be something made in little time. But given the current world situation, if you do have the time, it is worth a shot, as it will make you familiar with the editor, at least. But it literally means you will have to create a database based on the most recent day of your save. You would have to create the workers, make sure the popularity, skills and everything else is exactly set up according to what is going on in your game, then tweak where needed to adapt to new features. That last part will be one that will be able to be explained only after we get the actual game. It's mostly creating a db from scratch, except based on a specific data from your current point of the save. I don't exactly know if it would possible to match/replicate every single thing, cause I never really tried such an undertaking, but you could definitely get at least the gist of the save in there. But it will take time and effort. Edit: I guess importing could probably facilitate some of the issues, but it would still take a lot of time.
  11. Unless you were patient enough to turn that save into a db by yourself, and then convert, you will sadly be losing it, or at least playing it in TEW 16, if you wish to continue.
  12. We will agree to disagree in the part of the value of its utility. To me it is a very useful tool in both regards. To make people more popular and less popular. And to choose exactly how, when and where to channel these gains/losses. Obviously stakes are involved, it can always backfire, but most of the times it will hep out. I'm not saying it will change your landscape dramatically overnight or anything like that, so it isn't by any means an OP feature, but it is definitely useful, helpful and quite valuable when well used. Even realistic.
  13. I think you guys are missing the bigger picture here. One does not need to hype everyone to succeed at it. That would just be a waste of time. But with good usage, the percentage gains we have can absolutely be used in our favor. I'm not saying you are gonna make someone a star out of one fight, but it is a good tool when well used. And obviously always a gamble, but so it is irl as well, when people hype someone and he suffers an upset. Also, using it simply and only in undercard matches would not be a perfect usage. I feel you guys are definitely underestimating popularity in the game. Or at least it sounds like it, by what you are saying.

Those fighters you think will REALLY win in REALLY convincing fashion should be given higher hype levels. <p> </p><p><strong> That said, I don't think it's worth it to mess around with.</strong> I play with Fantasy Matchmaker on, so I don't really worry about fighters' popularity too much.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Totally worth messing with. I've used it to great lengths of success. Of course an upset will cause some cases to backfire, but not everything in life ever goes 100% as we planned it. But at the end of the day it will give more benefits than heartbreaks and I have managed to make so many stars out of it. It is just a question on knowing when to bank and when not to.</p>

  16. Judging by opinions both here and on discord, this would be a best case scenario to everyone. Most international rates will not get better anytime soon. As much as I am always glad to buy gds games on release day, I will also be keeping an eye on the rates and set my own limit to decide if i buy or not come April. Priorities.

There won't be any pandemics in TEW. There won't be any plane crashes either. There will be many feelings about it, but at the end of the day the argument is already over because Adam Ryland himself said so. There is no need to talk about it further, let's focus on getting hyped for the game and all the fun we're going to have with it. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Right on. I personally look forward for the new auto-booking system. This will help playing big companies a lot. Especially when there are several smaller shows and actual B shows.</p>

It'd totally post that meme of Morgan Freeman pointing up saying "He's right you know"<p> </p><p> Because homeslice isn't wrong!</p><p> </p><p> Lets not forget that 2016 had the plane crash cheat. I thought it was a neat addition but It's basically the same thing.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> It's not even remotely close. I've explained this on discord, from my pov. TEW is, from what I see, a fun family friendly sim that slowly evolves and occasionally adds certain darker elements, as some are part of wrestling, others are part of the world we have lived in for ages. The rate of evolution of these inclusions will be proportional to that logic. Whether some like it or not. </p><p> </p><p> Drugs, early deaths, steroids, etc, etc. There is no way to do a wrestling sim without touching these subjects. So they were eventually and tastefully introduced over time, as things that not only make sense, but help shape the game better. Being a product that guides by these lines, expect that kind of evolution.</p><p> </p><p> Adding a plane crash in 2016, when plane crashes have been a thing for decades and decades now, is completely different of asking to add a pandemic in the exact moment we are seeing the entire world get affected by it. Not only is it not tasteful at all, it adds nothing actually useful to the game and annoys people who want to play this type of game to have fun and forget about real life issues. It's not like we're playing Resident Evil here.</p><p> </p><p> The plane crash is something that I still hope can make a comeback (either that or something similar, maybe the same thing with a few different narratives) because it was a great way to shake up an entire game and change everything. It makes us deal with something that has always been around, as death, but not in a way that is actively affecting every single person right now. Adding a pandemic that can, at any given time, get to any single one of us, is just a bad idea for those and so many other reasons.</p><p> </p><p> At the end of the day, this is still a game about wrestling. I'm not a mod, i'm not staff, i'm not anything here but a member like anyone else, so all I can do is ask for this debate not to go on in which will be a bunch of pointless points that could defend/argue against, or simply play devil's advocate on something i would bet all my money that the majority would be against being in the game.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>TL,DR: Those expecting/suggesting/advocating for it to happen/not happen have had confirmation it won't happen, by the game maker himself, so let's all move on and not compare it to something completely different as a plane crash. Also, remember what type of game one is buying here and that it has been made in said lines for over a decade and half and some unnecessary posts will be avoided. But that's just my opinion.</strong></p>
  19. I can attest to all of this. Obviously me saying it won't have more impact than the actual game developer stating it, but, as a player, this is my own experience and the game is very realistic in that regard. A good example: I started a SHW division with nobodies, and obviously even the top ranked ones were preliminary card fighters. I promoted a few well known Heavyweights into it to give the division legitimacy and obviously they were established fighters, ergo, most of them were draws and not preliminary guys. As some have said in this thread, even UFC struggles with some of their best fighters not being necessarily the most popular. So I think people are confusing the ranking as a measure of talent, versus the assistant's advice, as a matter of popularity. Obviously a promoter will always want the latter to headline, unless the actual opponent is so popular that you can place him against a bag of chips and still get a worthy main fight. As I tend to use the advice of the game quite a lot to learn more about the popularity of my fighters, I realize it is extremely helpful in certain aspects, especially when comparing a good main event with a great one and so on. Straying a bit from said advice is obviously necessary, as someone being a prelim fighter doesn't mean he has to fight in the prelims forever, but one thing is being in the main card against someone in a "meaningless" spot, the other one is being in on a main event or one of the top matches.
  20. <p>While a more competitive AI is obviously needed and we hope TEW 2020's improvements will be good on that part, the AI pushing part-time legends weekly is actually a smart move and good business. The AI pushing guys that never got pushed in real life is also one of the reasons we play the game. To change things like that and push people who would have never had a chance, regardless of good or bad skills. </p><p> </p><p> I don't mind any of that, but within reason of course. So here's hoping the new updates bring some good news into the fold, but realism at all costs is just not my cup of tea, as I play games for all sorts of scenarios, including the "ridiculous" ones. But obviously a more competitive AI is always the goal we players want to see achieved, I think we can all agree on that.</p>
  21. I check on other companies when i have patience, mostly out of curiosity of what idiotic decisions they will make. As for the news reports, the lay-out is atrocious and doesn't facilitate reading all those news, so I don't read them all. The internet section needs a major update and I have some hopes that could happen in TEW 2020. Here is hoping to that. Because at this time it's all very robotic and misses some "personality". A more modern version of the EWR net screens would be top notch.

WMMA5 was the best game Adam ever did and if it is a good indicator of Adam's future projects evolving quality rate, TEW20 will soon grab that title.</p>
