  1. I strongly agree. Unless I missed something in recent updates, this hasn't changed. It would make much more sense to have an average, because a company having 4 hot storylines that meet requirements and one that isn't working and suffering from that is not realistic or user friendly. Average of total, or even total seems the way to go. I really hope this is considered.
  2. Ver very sweet updates. Now we just need all the scrolling that is possible, dev companies working like they did in 16 with an actual "both" option, bigger font for numbers, especially in show screens, title screens, etc, a few more custom products and we should be in for a great game! Cheers.
  3. Agreed. I think a lot of people would prefer a 'both' option as it means we can send any worker we want there without needing to worry about filling the rest of the spots, or having to "run" development.
  4. Glad to see you back. Hope you have recovered well from surgery. Cheers.
  5. I agree. I can see people that like to meticulously fill their rosters by themselves and others that would rather let the AI choose a roster and see if they can get anyone good out of it, but I think the "both" option is what makes more sense and I can imagine it would be the most used, as it is the most user friendly if it is possible. It's been a common thing in wrestling as well.
  6. <p>It seems that in this version of the game, our child companies will either simply accept the workers we send them, or simply fill out their rosters by themselves, but not both. Why? What interest would most people have in choosing only one of the above without the possibility for the two at the same time? Why even remove this? It is, imo, a step backwards, one of those things I can't seem to understand why it was changed anyway.</p><p> </p><p> My suggestion would be for it to return as it was in TEW 16 if possible. If it is not possible for technical reasons, just give us a heads up, as this is actually an important topic for how I play the game, and I am assuming for others as well.</p><p> </p><p> Thoughts? </p><p> </p><p> Please discuss, everyone.</p>
  7. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="soxfan93" data-cite="soxfan93" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="48649" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Really? You need a word from Adam?<p> </p><p> Check the Tech Support forum. He gives us a plethora of words on a daily basis.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> And we have a winner. Thank god someone notices the man has been communicating daily. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> I don't know why people would expect some kind of new daily dev. journal, or even a new announcement after only 4 days, when the game is currently in the process of being patched and polished for full release. Especially after some ridiculously exaggerated initial reactions. Let's just wait for things to flow naturally. Adam has delivered us a ton of good games over 2+ decades, there is no reason to distrust the man and I would rather have him spend his working schedule (that must be crazy hectic now) fixing issues and polishing everything possible. Cheers.</p>
  8. I agree that long running tests could be very helpful, so for this reason only I would support a beta release if Adam ever decided for it. I doubt it, but one can dream. Still, for the long testing needed, it would be very helpful and I would definitely join in on this. On the other hand, i can see it not happening almost for sure. Still, love the suggestion.
  9. 85 to 81 based on a good appearance from an unknown dude seems actually very suitable imo. You are forgetting that loss would be minor or non existing if the segment had a super over established star. You are looking at the penalty in this case as a mere loss and at the final grade as simply a punishment when it is simply a fluid balancing mechanism, if those are the average numbers for it.
  10. Funky Business: This worker just wants to keep going and will usually accept offers to return from retirement no matter how broken down he is. Can/should be countered with the creation of the opposite attribute for the (very few) workers willing to go out into the sunset at the top of their game. We could call this second attribute Never Looks Back. We The People: Regardless of nationality, this worker will always choose American offers from the best ones he has, as his objective is to work and live there.
  11. The Undertaker is a successful debut story. There are bad ones as well. But even Taker's debut would be penalised for his unknown factor. A lot of people were like "What? Who?" Which means a dent on the segment compared to if it was a very well known star. Penalties being added doesn't mean it is a bad segment. If you think the game is giving them excessively do a suggestion or tech support post. Doesn't mean it is perception's fault or that it is an inaccurate system or fully broken.
  12. Very good explanation Teemu. And I would also add that before, you could game the system by pushing someone as ME and give them more screen time. This was gamey and at the end of the day if you placed a low pop worker in ME matches or segments, they would still tank, regardless of push because they were nobodies. As it should. The new system allows you to see out of the bat who is in position to be where, removes unnecessary clicks and stresses of having to deal with a non existing fictional auto-push system that had 0 benefits and only added work and headaches, as well as stopping the gamey pushes that made no sense. Perception is indeed one of the great new additions of this game. I would only add ability to sort by perception/momentum/pop when booking or searching. (Can't remember if it is searchable outside of booking)
  13. This is one of the main problems for me as well. Not the only one, but one of the main ones. The idea of preset products looked appealing, but the amount of restrictions that came with it makes me think that, if possible, at least an option to customize as we wish should be added along with the new system.
  14. Yeah, i was hyped for the feature, but looking on how it works and can be restrictive for ideal products, I think allowing for Adam to add new stuff while allowing us to make our own, if possible, would be the best of both worlds, especially for those who don't mind using the preset ones.
  15. This is true. An overlooked thing has also been the new gimmick system, love it. More intuitive and realistic, more easy to setup, but also superior instead of just being a choose-the-gimmick-you-know-will-rate-better-even-if-idoesn't-make-sense kind of thing. The core of the game is awesome. Some patches and maybe, as you said some QOL improvements, including to the UI, if possible, and this can become a great success story. The core of the game is brilliant, now it just needs some tweaks to better set up the whole thing in a more fluid and friendly way.
  16. The new perception system is absolutely wonderful. I love it. Much better than what we had before. Great quality of life improvement, imho.
  17. You were a tad aggressive and judgmental to someone that was expressing his opinions. That was rude and unnecessary. Here are some more opinions I've seen around discord since yesterday. Some i agree with, some from a whole lot of other people. The numbers are too small. The colors are wrong, especially the existence of that yellow in the numbers. The new added space with the 1366x768 is often wasted by not being used at all, or used in stuff that could be shorter, thus allowing for numbers and other things to have a decent size instead of us having to find Waldo to discover ratings. The in game editor losing features, including ability to alter someone's role or in/out of business status is a loss, does not add at all to the experience, only dampers those who like to do fantasy scenarios and play sanbox games. The UI is a headache. The color scheme is bad, it hurts the eye, blah blah, we all know this by now, but the actual layout could be vastly improved as well, given the screen gained size for this new iteration. Products seem too rigid, in the sense that it is either hard or impossible to edit match/Angle ratio in your own product. The booking screen is a place where we have to use tiny arrows to move around segments in a very bad looking and uncomfortable way. People want the possibility of having both grades and numbers or choose between them. People want (me included) question mark boxes back to complement the players handbook, as it would facilitate the experience and shorten the need to go to said handbook every time there are doubts. Those boxes were always helpful and with more space added by the new res, i always though it was given they were staying. People (me included) often compare this game to WMMA5. This is because WMMA5 was the first game to be made in the new resolution. It has a great UI, great skin, great color balance for the most part of it. This game hasn't got any of that. I am not posting these opinions here to flame anyone or start any fight or to take shots to Adam in any way. I am just stating these here because: 1- I've been hearing them for 24 hours now and in several cases thinking them myself. 2- People have been encouraged to come to forums to post their ideas/suggestions/opinions about it, as that is the only place to do where Adam is guaranteed to see. 3- We all want the game to come to a state where at least the majority likes and enjoys it. So please do not dismiss other people's concerns, opinions, suggestions and reactions in a thread where reacting is the actual goal. This was your moment of Bliss.
  18. No shame in playing however you like and want. I love creating my fantasy scenarios and alternative realities. First thing I wanted to do was bring back Skull DeBones for a final run, booked in my own terms, but as he refused when I talked to him, it became a nightmare. I also wanted to bring back some guys that I think retired WAY too soon, like Fox Mask, among others. And edit the game world a bit to bring back/retire some guys, etc etc to better fit my own scenario I was creating in my head. Not being able to edit these things during the game itself is painful. I also think it should return and I sincerely hope it is not coding limited.
  19. Yes please. It saddened me (greatly) that this wasn't possible in WMMA5 (I still hope a future patch fixes it) and my only solace was that it had always been possible in TEW, so it shouldn't be an issue in that series. This has to return imo, or we run the risk of having to comb for every worker in every db before starting a game to make sure they are where we want them to and we will be left without alternative for any possible fantasy plans we have during a game, as we will not be able to edit it mid-game.
  20. Scrolling needs to return in every list and as a default option, not the other way around.
  21. That is not a bad point to make. The fact that some.of these changes came to see the light of day is not encouraging at all, imo. I've never felt so disappointed by a new release like I feel about this one. Every new version has its gripes but this one has too much. Even after disabling new colour lists settings in options I will still have a big amount of lists where I can't use my keyboard. Why would someone testing the game not constantly nag and warn this and the rest of the UI would be terribly disliked by most people? It was obvious. Anyway, not trying to hate on the game, the actual new features I tried so far looked great but eventually I simply gave up playing it cause that UI and the problems it brings are overwhelming. Maybe tomorrow I will be able to test some more.
  22. i will have to agree with those saying the UI is terrible. This is not to put Adam down in any way, as overall it is a great game, but that UI ruins the experience for me. I really hope Adam can change that via patch and do something like WMMA5. Also, red should always be the skin color for GDS games. There is a reason why most people use red skins, it definitely fits with these games. That is why most of my time in WMMA has always been done with the default skin. As of now, the UI is putting me off from playing the game. A quick look at how WMMA5's UI was brilliantly done and a quick look at this one show two completely different stories. For now I have some RL things to take care of for the next minutes, but that ends up being good, at the UI is really not making me enjoy my experience, so I will take a pause out of trying the game. Again, i reiterate that this is not to put Adam down in anyway way. Just constructive criticism. From the little I already tried, it has the potential to be an awesome game. But the visual part...well, it doesn't look like one, which does not help many people, from what I already see and was told, to fluidly get into it. If that can be improved, I'm sure this will be a great game.
  23. My constructive criticism for now seems to be only with the UI. I haven't test everything out, but it is the only thing that stand as a big minus for me so far. I hope that, if possible, Adam can patch some things. It looks like the extra space gained with the new resolution was just used to stack info in there without having aesthetics to balance it well. The side-bars are almost impossible to read, as they continue to go worse for each version. The UI itself seems over-complicated and brings in an unnecessary long learning curve even for veterans. This could have been resolved with a better presentation, better and more balanced colors and a better approach on how to place some features to maximize the screen. Also, the side-bars need to be fully readable and those symbols are either small, confusing, unable to be understood without having to hover over them every single time...and pretty much user unfriendly. Part of this could have been easily resolved with both having the detailed handbook and still allowing the question marks to be there, as they clarify small doubts or certain doubts much faster. That is my biggest pet peeve so far. The rest is looking top notch, from what i've seen. Thoughts?
