Haven't made the last couple of predictions but I have been able to finally catch up. It isn't too surprising on the Swoop turn, but the alliance with Main Event Mafia is huge. As people have already said it really stacks the heels on the roster.
I love the idea of them just running absolute riot with small faction battles between them with the Face guys just trying to eek out a way of life in the company until a new hero eventually rallies to the challenge is a great concept. Be it an entirely new talent, or someone who gets slowly built up during what could be labelled as the dark times of RAW, before finally getting their breakout moment.
Great to see your comments, I appreciate you've been along for a lot of the ride now! It will certainly be a dark time for RAW and the faces having to settle with 'just trying to eek out a way of life' is exactly the tone going forward. Although of course some faces will fight for more than that and as you say I'm sure somebody will rise to the challenge.
I really like how you're elevating the graphics to include 'in motion' stuff-- You can see the presentation evolving every time [although i hope it doesn't become standard for everyone as I'd be screwed
]. I think it's normally a cardinal sin to book handing over the top prize like that because it 'should' be the focal point of the promotion. That's why you're able to believe Swoop would trade friendships for the title, and let's face it, he became a heel the moment he started completing the trials [burning down someone's home...!]. However, you can get away with giving the title away in RAW because its a soap opera, I just think I need to better understand Jackson's quest for power [does he want to own RAW...?].
You're right that you've got an interesting chess board for the next season and new faces are going to have to emerge or the heel factions will implode-- I'm looking forward to it!
Thanks for the comments. Glad the presentation went down well. I'm working on improving the format going forward although if I'm honest the in game shots will be used pretty sparingly as it takes me ages! I wouldn't worry about it your presentation, most the best diaries on the boards at the moment (including your QAW) use that style, and for good reason!
I think people's comments about the handing over the title and MJ in general have told me one key thing. I 100% don't regret the decision, it's very integral to the key storyline going forward and I do think I dropped a few little hints and signs of what might have motivated him. That said I might have failed to flesh out MJ and his thinking enough for such a big moment, maybe treating him too much as a pawn in Swoop's story to say he's one of my top acts.
I have no problem with people thinking 'hmm would MJ actually do that?' because a) it was designed to be shocking and b) there's plenty of time going forward to delve deeper into his motivations but yes perhaps I should have focused on him a bit more in the run up to the surprise.
One idea I'm working through is having each episode going forward being focused on fleshing out 1 character or perhaps team at a time. So although other stuff will go on, each episode will have a general focus on one person. I'm trying to think of examples in TV but I remember LOST doing that, Walking Dead does too sometimes. I like the idea of trying that for wrestling. So if I go ahead with this I definitely have to mark Maurice Jackson as a high priority to give an episode to.
It's great to hear some interest in the next season! I'm hoping later today or at least definitely this weekend to post a way to earn and spend some predictions points.

Now with a ridiculously powerful heel group in charge, this is a great opportunity for a few babyfaces to elevate themselves in fighting against them.
I agree about the 'rising up' of babyfaces to take on the mafia, and swoop. I guess you have Frogue, and the Wayne Family. But who else do you see as guys in line to be your number one babyface now that Swoop is your number one heel, and Bret/Blake are your heel tag champs?Captain is a heel right? Steele/MJ/JT... Swoop... Blake/Bret... all heels. I guess Loxley and Gilbert are true babyfaces?
You're both completely right and it's exactly what Swoop meant by 'the delicate balance has shifted'. I think one of the biggest unwritten rules of wrestling booking is that if you have a face/heel divide the forces need to be roughly balanced. Season Two of the diary all came about from one premise: What happens if that balance is completely taken away?
In other media I'd say not only does this imbalance happen but it's the norm. Whether it's something like Star Wars/Lord of the Rings or even say a horror film in general the bad side always seems more powerful. I think in wrestling it's often easier to make a heel likeable and there's nothing less likeable than someone acting like an underdog when in reality they simply aren't. I'm hoping that by making the faces truly be the underdogs it will help endear them to the readers.
How the faces react to this imbalance will hopefully be interesting... I imagine it will be a mixture of three things;
1: As Willsky said elevating the people they already have. (They might struggle to do this as it's pretty slim pickings but maybe someone will surprise everyone and really prove themselves)
2: Trying to sway some bad guys to their cause. (This won't be easy as anyone directly opposing Swoop will have a tough time)
3: Looking elsewhere for new people to help them. (This is obviously TEW dependent but we have plenty of money and so I'm willing to bid high for the right person)
I'm really looking forward to starting the next season as this imbalance won't just mean the heels win more, or hold more titles but it completely changes the show in ways which I think will be quite unique. At the moment I'm mostly working on improving the presentation and a bunch of the wrestler pics but hopefully the break isn't too long. There's some stuff I'll be doing in between seasons to use prediction points up which I'll hopefully get out this week.
Edit: And a side note now as I've reached Episode 40/End of a season a quick note of appreciation for anyone still following and especially my small handful of regulars! I'm enjoying the fact that I can experiment with stuff (ending a season finale on a song being a prime example!) and in general just write what I want without worrying how it will go down. Writing like that will definitely mean it's not for some people (or even the people that do read won't like all of it) but it's certainly enjoyable this way so it's trade off I'm happy with. So thank you!

Looking forward to seeing how Riddick does, he has a pretty cool moveset already anyway. It was perhaps a toss up between Perez vs Youngman and Mr Lucha vs Captain Lucha for my favourite main event so far but this one definitely makes the conversation. Swoop being on the side of the main event mafia means that even if MJ can never touch the RAW TV Title again he basically has free reign to do whatever he wants to now 'there's no heroes left'. As MJ himself said 'This isn't just about the title. This is the start of a new era'. I agree it's unusual for main eventers to not view the top title as the main goal but I view RAW not necessarily as a bunch of wrestlers all fighting for titles but more a bunch of wrestlers with different motivations/desires/reasons for being there.</p><p> </p><p> Also don't forget Swoop only came down to the ring once Frogue had almost certainly won. For all we know the deal MJ made was 'If I'm going to lose, I'd prefer someone on my side to have the title than Frogue' so really why wouldn't he take the deal. </p><p> </p><p> Granted you saying it does fit with a mafia BOSS makes sense and certainly going forward that's part of the storyline/development of MJ.</p>

I'm really enjoying the dynamic between Youngman and Perez develop. There's plenty of great rivalries but the two fairly indisputably top dogs have a great thing going!
And yet again the main event delivers. It was a great idea to pair them in the semis as a main event as both have gone through such journeys to get to that stage.

I always think a first show with such a big roster is tricky as you got to get a lot of info and character in whilst still putting together a good show in it's own right and you did a great job! Already plenty of interesting stuff going on. It's definitely good to see a 21CW diary so I'll be following.

It's strange I've always thought someone other than Ernest might win it, but I can't even bring myself to pull the trigger and vote for someone else.
Great last show and enjoyed the Behind the Curtain too. Plenty of characters slowly being built up and given depth.

I love the image of the winner of the main event, limping into to the back, corridors are lined with TNA stars, everyone clapping him for his performance. He hushes the crowd, they wait in anticipation for his speech... and his just hones in on Sarita and rips into her.
But bravo on the show! Just top to bottom fantastic. A lot of the smaller details I enjoyed like how you ended the Ironman match but realistically this was a show that promised big stuff so more importantly you stuck the landing and delivered fully!
As a side note Jarrett mentioning it reminded me how perfect cross the line was as a motto or whatever you'd call it. I think one of the best compliments I can give this diary is it makes me look back on TNA much kinder. Granted that's mostly because of changes you've made but you've also kept the general feel.
I don't like responding to specific parts in case people read this and it acts as a spoiler but needless to say it feels like there's plenty of exciting stuff to come.

Damn it, work took over this week and I missed the prediction. It was another good show though and I'm getting into the rhythm of the stories [as i'm newish to the diary]-- I have to say that the running over of Swoop by Spiffy seems off to me! Like, the motivation and Swoop's reaction seemed to downplay it which makes me think there is something more to it? [Also, isn't it illegal?!].

That's right Juliet Balconi, Foxxy definitely has the ability to be in bigger wrestling matches and hold her own with the guys but Juliet has potential and great entertainment skills which are obviously king in RAW.
I completely see where you're coming from with the running over. If I'm honest a little part of it was needing an excuse to get Swoop talking to the priest again, and with everything ramping up to episode 40 perhaps it felt a little shoehorned in and not given enough time to be a deal in of itself. That said, the reaction (or lack of it) is also intentional but for something coming up, so without going into too much details, don't worry that part of the storyline isn't completely over.
As for the legality of it, I'm no Australian law expert and who knows what funky stuff they allow down under... but I imagine it was pretty illegal yes! Early on in the diary when Swoop was kidnapped the police actually did come in to investigate but all the wrestlers kept to the 'wrestling code', Swoop wouldn't press any charges, and they settled it in house. So there is a precedent set. My thinking is basically so much wacky and illegal stuff has happened over the years that the police barely bother with it anymore!
Current prediction scores below but just a heads up that I'm temporarily putting a hold on people cashing them in. This is just because in between Episode 40 and 41 I'm changing a lot of people's appearance and if I'm honest it will be a shame to spend a lot of time on someone if it then gets changed before I get a chance to debut the new look. That said as soon as episode 41 is posted you're welcome to cash them in on anything you like.
Also I have quite an interesting idea for a second way to use them. Some time will pass in game and for RAW in between episode 40 and 41. My thinking is to allow you to use points up to help influence some of the details. But I'll flesh out the idea and post that after episode 40, they'll also be a little something extra to give everyone the chance to earn some bonus points. Predictions for Episode 40 will be up asap.
