I am really enjoying these episodes! It’s not like what you typically see in diaries and that unique aspect just really helps to draw you in while reading. Great stuff! As both a DAVE fan and a TCW fan I am greatly anticipating each new episode

Thanks I appreciate that! At first I picked the PDF format just because it was quick for me to make shows, but then I added in the WWE2k19 pictures which completely got rid of that positive! But the act of creating all of them in the game/making entrances/finishers/title belts etc has really fleshed DAVE out in my mind, so hopefully that will slowly come across in the shows.

At the moment it still feels a little like each shows aim is simply to introduce new characters, which is fun, but I'm exciting to get more into some storylines I've got planned which will hopefully keep this going well!

In all honesty I don't really see him as a potential main eventer either, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have an outside shot in the chamber if his 'noughty boy' character catches fire)

if he even can make it a credible singles midcarder, my best bet for him is to get him back into the tag team scene, even if you cant get hsi brother give him a new tag partner, his experience in tag wrestling, his name has pull in the tag ranks, and his accomplishments combine well into a veteran tag team wrestler with a future still in front, in no way is he still in his prime but he isnt gone enough to be in his last run he is only 35, some would say thats old but I have seen wrestlers worse than him go deep into their forties, he still has time to bring his career into the sportlight without his brother but always in a tag team, if I had to present candidates I would think of someone like Benny Benson, as he also was a member of a succesful tag team and his tag expereince could make him fit well with Bart in this Mashup of a team, but a pretty good team, but because I dont know if Benny is in Total Wrestling roster, I would go with the more realistic possibility of Elliot Thomas, that could be an inicial role for him to advance in his career after he stops paying his dues so he stops jobbing, this would be a logical first step that isnt that severe for him and lets him win experience from a veteran, gives him something to do and his momentum can rise naturally.

Yeah I agree that the chances are his future is in the tag ranks. I like the idea of him tagging with Benson (especially because you could argue his glory days were also the noughties). Thomas I think has more potential than Courtney so he isn't at the VERY bottom of the pecking order, perhaps a tag team could help him out a lot.

'The Last True Cowboy' Ricky Dale Johnson & 'The Speedball' Marc Speed vs BUFF and Titan

I think BUFF and Titan are going to lose but they arent going to be beaten, they dont care about wins or losses, right now they care about a message, and that is that Floyd believes BUFF was screwed out of the chamber even if that isnt truth and that Titan hasnt been given a chance to enter, so they just beat up their opponent illegally probably with weapons and the match gets thrown out or they get DQed sending the message that the Board of Directors must give them a chance or they will continur beating up people until theres no one else fit in the roster.

I do like this idea, but their storyline is going to go in a different way, partly because The Masked Men (temporary name) will sort of fit that role and don't want them to be too similar.

'Dr Love' Danny Fonzarelli vs Jeremie Courtney

Jeremie Courtney is a rookie paying his dues, so that means jobber, so an easy win for an established upper midcarder, now about Danny, I have to be honest you have achieved something I never thought could be done, you have made me give a damn about Danny Fonzarelli, I usually despise the character because he simply is a goody two shoes usually wronged, with an annoying character two me of love guru mixed with austin powers or similarly I have seen him used, and it make me more upset because he is usually my favorite with his old gimmick of the darkness warriors, so seeing this version of him that is overly happy going into crazy with some subtle touches of his old gimmick and that he maybe isnt as pure as he would like us to assume, its a character I can invest in and care for him, this is a better diary than I expected.

I'm glad to hear this! I'm the same, Danny is always somebody I job down the card as soon as I'm in TCW, especially because he's actually quite popular. But he's very much part of some big plans going forward. I won't give too much away about his story he definitely won't be a goody two shoes as you say.

I like this idea of us not being shown what is happening in TCW but it still happening, probably because in story TCW isnt being booked by Phil Vibert, and it is by Kyle Rhodes and his bookers Joel Bryant and Brent Hill, it also leaves little clues, like for example the TCW board of directors see Killer Shark as a future star as they prefered to break the tag team up instead of letting him go to the DAVE, I think that before the brand split TCW alrady had a very little tag division, and now with the tag divisions separated, both brands either form new tag teams or look into the independents to get a few units to feel the void in both tag divisions

You're definitely right, I think I had like 5 teams total on both brands at the start, but that should be built up fast.

for dave I would think that you could bring Teddy Powell back to team with Bach, but they arent in the best of terms, and Bach is to big of a star so I dont see it likely, but one I think is pretty realistical is to steal Al Coleman from CZCW and get him back with Marc Speed as the Shoot Club, I think that could be something to keep Speed relevant if he doesnt win the DAVE Title, but keeps him relevant and gains momentum until he becomes a real main eventer, I could also think about Texas Pete to team back with BUFF, but I think he has something with Titan already and even if doesnt I can see you pushing BUFF more as a single, and if titan aligns with him more like a lackey than a partner, you know who I might suggest for Danny Fonzarelli but I wont say anything I want to keep your secret even if I might still be wrong, maybe we could see the return of Doug Peak to be also a partner/lackey to his brother; and for TCW, I like the elite a lot, I thing that if you give them a chance they could impress you I have seen Eddie Chandler rise to TCW World Heavyweight Champion, this feud with Devine Fortune might be because they were the only teams left but I think is a pretty good feud, maybe you could have the Elite back as a stable and bring Dan Dalay and Bobby Thomas which are respectivaly the old partners of Chandler and Johnson, and together they have been the elite but there was a lot of turnover of the members, and maybe you could bring Stevie Grayson and Regular Joe to team with Tornado and Hocking if you need established bodies for the tag division, and there is a lot of other tag teams in the independents, but hey this are just ideas Im not trying to tell you what to do,

Teddy Powell: Is definitely a maybe. I can't imagine reforming the tag team with Bach as yes they hate each other, it would even be tricky to have them on the same brand. But I do like the idea of having 1 on TCW, 1 on DAVE and that way they can have a low-key long term rivalry without actually tanking my backstage ratings.

Al Coleman is on my shortlist at the moment I have solo plans for Marc and didn't want to over complicate/shadow that but it's certainly a possibility for the future.

Texas Pete/Jay Darkness/Doug Peak are all not currently on my shortlist, they all make sense storyline-wise but I'm simply not sure if they are talented enough to make the roster anymore. All 3 are pretty old too. Although never say never! I can especially see one or two of them having a one off appearance.

You are right about The Elite, I do think they have potential even despite their age. I've got Bobby and Dan on my shortlist.

Grayson and Joe are a bit similar to Pete/Jay/Doug is that I'm not sure if they are good enough individually. But I have considered them. My issue is I don't want to bring in a tag partner just to complete a team, if I like the individual and they happen to have been in a team then great. But with it the tag ranks being so depleted perhaps I can't be so picky!

the Andrews Dilemma is something a lot of us suffer given he just won the title, but with TCW, it isnt about kindness, they are in a pretty difficult position and they are in no position to fail, they are cutthroat right now and if Aaron Andrews isnt pulling for You Rocky is your safer bet, keep the Figurehead Happy and he might just not leave when his contract is negotiated,

Yeah it was a shame for Andrews to drop the belt but TCW is going a lot more sports orientated. I didn't want Andrews to have a cheap/cheaty run with the belt as that goes against that. Hopefully in time he's ready to have a legitimate run as champ.

I think Mighty Mo is a perfect candidate to take over the international title, usually this is something I would think of, because usually theres no reason to take the title away from speed as he is a pretty good champion and a good future star, but if he has to drop it I think Mo gains the most of it as he is the Wonderkid, the one being groomed to take the place from golden when needed, but he is pretty green still, a good run with the international title serves to build popularity, momentum, steam and is a good indicator if he is really going to live up to his potential,

Mo is one of my 2 'next big things' on my creative screen, so I definitely have high hopes.

the only problem now it that you have the exact opposite problem from TCW, as it begins with only heel champions, but because some left for DAVE and Andrews wasnt cutting it now all champions are faces, none of the extremes are good, it should be a variety of dispositions for the champions, and even more if you take the DAVE Titles into account The New Wave are faces and are the tag team champions, and that makes it 4 out of 4 faces as champions, as a DAVE Unified Champion hasnt been crowned,

That's a good point I hadn't even properly noticed. With the face/heel divide gone it's perhaps less of a problem. I'm sure it won't be long until some titles change hands.

what else I think also Jay Chord and Matt Hocking are awesome characters, Troy Tornado might need to be rebuilt or put into a tag team or/and turned face, as he right now at the beggining of the game isnt really a world title challenger and he just put over the rising International champion that means he isnt on the inside grouo right now, he needs something to do I still believe he can be a good star even if he is made of glass,

I'm not gonna lie, Troy is normally in the Danny Fonzarelli category of popular people I use to pass on pop to others, but Dr Love has proved to me I should be open to giving others a chance, so perhaps Troy has one last good run in him!

I like your hirings Kirk Jameson seems like a no brainer, a perfect youg heel to build, maybe team him up with Jay Chord, and Buddy Garner and Roger Smooth (Roger Cage), is it weird I wish he was actually called Smooth Cage, sounds awesome I assume they are faces but I could be wrong, a good use for garner as he is awesome but he isnt really over enough for a singles run and maybe his body wouldnt keep up that long so putting him into a tag team to protect him is perfect, and a good way to introduce an independents darling in Cage, is weird he wasnt picked off sooner in his career but right now is in his prime so you might have to move quickly to get him over and garner can help with that.

Smooth Cage does sound like a video game character (in a cool way), there is plenty of time in his career to rethink the name! So yes with the divide off obviously they are neither technically face or heel, but I do see them more as good guys in that Buddy is trying to train Roger and it's a sort of wholesome pairing with Roger sometimes playing a comedic unruly pupil role.

Lastly, this is just a little idea, insignificant even as we dont see the ingame titles just the ones you make in 2k19, but with the backing of TCW and in national television, I think that Phil Vibert could bring back the Unified Title but theres also the possibility to build in this new rising of status and bring a new title a WORLD title, as in the DAVE World Championship that is in images in game, as that would mean TCW would be the only promotion with 2 World Title status Championship and could be diferentiated with The TCW one being the World Heavyweight with a weight restriction and DAVE only being a world title as with its rebelious nature to ditch the old school weight limited championships as old school wrestling separated the roster in weight divisions, but in DAVE those things arent taken into account, you have to show you are strong enough against anyone (This doesnt mean the TCW one should have weight division, but the name is that for tradition even if lighter wrestler could hold it, but DAVE breaks proudly and public with that stereotype)

I have thought about what the future holds for DAVE titles. The Unified Title is being hyped as prestigious (and in terms of DAVE it fully is) but historically it is just the east coast small promotions bundled into one. Perhaps there is room down the line for a proper world title.

As for my prediction on who attacked Scout, as we dont have clues of if its a hiring or someone already in the roster, my prediction is : Ricky DeColt

P.S. it may be obvious but you might notice I like CGC a lot

As for the masked attacker I think Xavi Ferrera, could set up a feud down the line with the New Wave turning on each other.

Ok so neither of these are correct so everyone can have a fresh guess (one each game week).

Clue time... (they will get more helpful as time goes on)

So now it's a game to guess BOTH masked men and the clue this week is that they are both white Americans.

Thanks for the comments, Episode 4 is above. 2 more before The Elimination Chamber! Obligatory thanks 20LEgend for the DoTM nomination! I believe this is actually my first ever one, maybe one of my WWE diaries was nominated years ago I'm not certain. Either way there's plenty of good stuff on here at the moment so it's great to get the nod.

SPOILERS FOR SHOW ABOVE

  6. From the Journal - "Spoils Of War: If a company goes bankrupt then anyone they're in a significant war with automatically gains a company-wide morale boost for "winning the war"."

Any chance we might get boosts for buying out a rival company? I'd imagine there was a massive morale boost in WWE when they purchased WCW, knowing that jobs were secure.

I know what you mean but do you not think their jobs were safe as soon as they won the war? Obviously this went hand in hand with the buy out, but basically I'm not sure it needs two separate boosts?

  7.
I'll hold off on posting the next show to give people longer to predict. There is also an extra prize that is mentioned near the end of this post. In the meanwhile here January in game. This has the ratings for all the TCW and DAVE shows, some of my reasoning for booking decisions and updates on what's going on around world including ELITE.

This Tuesday on The POP! Network, Danger and Violence Extreme presents the most unmissable 90 minutes of action.

Tonight we get answers to the questions. Who will be the 4th man in The Elimination Chamber? Will Titan join Goldworthy Talent? How will Dr Love. respond to his beatdown at the hands of The Canadian Animals? Will Sammy Bach even be able to respond to his attacker Eddie Peak after the brutal car door attack? As well as these answers we see a new character debut and two stars already in the Chamber will be forced to work together...

    Welcome to the Dangerzone!

    Main Event

    Guide vs Bart Biggins

Neither man is a veteran of the main event stage. It's a huge opportunity for both not just to prove they belong closing shows but also inside the demonic structure that is The Elimination Chamber!

'The Last True Cowboy' Ricky Dale Johnson & 'The Speedball' Marc Speed vs BUFF and Titan

Floyd has helped create this match to give Titan a feel of what it's like to be on Team Goldworthy Talent. But the two men already have history fighting each other so it's not clear whether they will gladly join forces. Their opponents have a similar problem though, with both men looking to go in the Chamber with the most momentum it's not clear whether they can trust each other either.

'Dr Love' Danny Fonzarelli vs Jeremie Courtney

The head of The Lovely People looks to train himself before his qualifying match next week. Jeremie always puts his all in but surely the muscular heavyweight is too much for him to handle?

Enjoyed Vibert's Vlog a lot, and the first two episodes have established some good stuff. The visuals of the WWE game work so well and there's plenty going on from the get go. Really like the look of Goldworthy and Buff together, and I feel like there's a lot of great fits for the new DAVE on the roster. The booking and aftermath of the first main event worked well, and Ricky is a perfect for the role he's in. Looking forward to more, the format of this throughout has been brilliant so far.

Thanks for the comments, as you can see this episode the aftermath from the first main event is still being felt. I didn't intend on Bach/Peak being a main storyline from the beginning but I think they will always be semi-feuding. The two main DAVE alumni stars, very different characters, Bach's perhaps more popular and seen as the face of the brand in a way, but Peak's the one who is a former Unified champion... it just makes sense that they would clash.

I do like the idea of TNW getting a shot, fingers crossed for Guide next week. And your reasoning was all pretty much spot on with mine too. I wouldn't worry too much about Triple D, I would be surprised if he ever gets very high up the card but he will at least get a minor storyline starting soon.

3 more shows before the PPV. 3 more spots in the Chamber. 12. Gimmick skills would be replaced by attributes, as Adam said, like "Master Comedian".... these would likely be in two tiers for each, with a positive version and a negative version of each gimmick type while assuming that having neither assigned would be neutral. No need to guess on a 0 to 100 scale how good someone is at something, just far more streamlined. :) The gimmick effects will be more varied than they are now, with each one potentially getting all kinds of attributes attached.... so a cool gimmick could have it's more rapid rise and fall of momentum/popularity, but may get many other things too. Giving far more scope for gimmicks being able to accomplish a lot. :)

I'm not sure some of the people are quite getting how much this potentially ties in with attributes too and how much more you'll have to think about booking decisions. But that's why the discussion is out here. To get a feel for it, to see what other potential ideas there could be to get better and to help give more knowledge on what could be there. In theory there could be all kinds of new gimmick categories added, all kinds of new effects added and so much more....

So the more inspiration there is out there, the better. :)

That does make a lot of sense, I'm sort of picturing the system in 2016 whereas in reality it will work a lot better with other new features. I think as long as the list of possible attributes is long as to not over simplify everything then it sounds great.

Onto today's ones, disposition strictness is actually one of my favourite changes so far. I strongly disliked that strong/weak divide was gotten rid of and this sounds perfect. I basically always want to play as a company with a weak divide and have had to pick no divide to best replicate it but means I miss out on turns and other fun features.

  13. I initially responded positively about the change, and I think I stick by that.

But would this mean the end of gimmick types and their affect in popularity changes? I.E A comedy gimmick takes less of a hit from losing but can't be too high up the card.

Also would it then mean the end of gimmick rating stats? I like the idea of gimmicks being a lot more free and open but hopefully it's doesn't strip the mechanic too bare bones. I could be completely misunderstanding the changes but I'd hope if you want a cocky gimmick (which off the top of my head I think gains pop faster with wins but also loses it faster with loses) then there's still some limit as to who can successfully play it. Especially with other types like comedy or brute it's obvious that some people could simply never successfully play it.

This Tuesday on The POP! Network, Danger and Violence Extreme presents the most unmissable 90 minutes of action.

The third spot in the Elimination Chamber is up for grabs this week and we'll hear from one of the two men who have already qualified for the match; Sammy Bach.

    Welcome to the Dangerzone!

    Main Event

    Scout vs Marc Speed

Neither member of The New Wave have ever held a singles title. An amazing stat considering their dominance of every tag division they have step foot in. Tonight Scout has a chance to earn himself a Unified Title shot at Elimination Chamber but his opponent is fresh off a win last week and equally determined to earn a spot.

The Canadian Animals vs Elliot Thomas & Jeremie Courtney

Freddy Huggins and Edd Stone haven't had the best of time so far in DAVE, taking beatings and having their Sister and manager 'stolen' by Dr Love. This match is hopefully a chance to gain some positive momentum.

    Titan vs Dazzling Dave Diamond

A debut this week for Triple D. Fist fly when this 'Good ol' Southern Boy' hits the ring but he faces stiff competition in the form of the massive powerhouse Titan.

Although it surprise me really, especially early as I have a pretty clear cut divide between main eventers and others at the moment but hopefully that line will be blurred soon.

Marc Speed has lost his title yes (although I don't think I mention it in the episode, I sort of regret pointing it out with Titan, the brands are separate so why bring up a loss for a debuting wrestler was my thinking). But TCW is going through quite a transition at the moment so it does at least fit the narrative in my head.

Speaking of TCW I have the 3rd DAVE show coming up, then the end of the month recaps where I'll give a bit of a glimpse into what's going on with them and the rest of the world (includng ELITE as don't forget they are still fully in the database trying to survive with the god awful roster I left them). I probably spend 90% of my time booking DAVE, 10% TCW, so I'll only post real short recaps of what's going on. I want to post something every so often though because what happens in TCW will inevitably sometimes affect DAVE.

There is also some behind the scenes/Vibert's Vlog style posts I'd like to do, however I'm eager to get properly into DAVE so I want to give most my time to getting shows out faster. 16. Yeah I'd definitely be a fan of the gimmick change. I create a new gimmick each time I change one (or at least 80% of the time) but this does often feel a little tedious.

The whole playing it safe/taking a risk is great. How the difficulty/subtlety works at the moment isn't too intuitive so this definitely sounds like an improvement. Also the idea that some gimmicks are safe but can last many years whilst others might catch fire but burn out and only feel relevant for a smaller time sounds great.

I feel like as long as there is a list of examples like previously mentioned then I struggle to see any real downside.

  18. I'm sure everyone has different opinions on this but mine align very closely with what Self put and I'd use his CGC diary as the perfect example. As soon as I see massive walls of texts for matches I got into skim mode (again I'm sure plenty of people love the detailed matches). Self's matches I loved because it was all storyline/character development, sure sometimes this means a match is just 1 sentence or two. If there's a lower card match where really all that matters is that one guy stood out and and you want to get his finish over then why fluff it out with other details.

I think all that matters to me is the diary does have a story/something worth reading. So for example Historians match ups are very short and rarely have any detail, but I'm reading The Climb to follow the company direction as a whole and he's able to add depth through promos both in shows and behind the scenes. I care about the direction of the booking and how the characters careers plot out, not the individual matches. I think as long as there is something interesting SOMEWHERE, it doesn't matter if it's in the matches at all.

Product definitely affects it in my eyes, it's why even though I play perf>pop promotions in game I usually don't opt for those in diaries as I feel like the actual in ring stuff needs details. Whereas pop>perf it feels more natural to let angles do the talking. Although again even this you can get around, perhaps the detail comes from how workers are developing, or trying to get better match ratings, reasoning for booking decisions etc.

Basically I 100% think you can have short/essentially non existent even match write ups and still have an engaging diary, as long as there's other aspects to draw you in.
