Ok so over the last few days I've taken my time and caught up (last I read was a couple shows before DeColt vs Bruce 1). Just wanted to say how much I've enjoyed it and let you know what stood out in case it interests you!

I always enjoyed Drake Young, 'Don't make me go through your Twitter' is a great catchphrase. A shame really that he seemed to get less time as it went on but I suppose his character is perfect for those smaller parts.

Dan DaLay promos I always love, especially the one about lasting forever so even when the sun dies he'll be still around to wet willie the stars. And the promo with him and Bobby Thomas where Bobby said history will remember him as a bully his response that history won't remember him at all actually made me feel bad for poor Bobby.

Speaking of Bobby I had him down to win the series and Running Wolf to lose so I was happy to predict that perfect. Although I thought Bobby was going to use one of his wishes to somehow gift the tomahawk to RW so he could leave and restore his tribe. Obviously they weren't connected but it would fit BT's general good guy character and give Wolf's short story a nice end. Although I much preferred your version being a huge DaLay fan and all.

There were lots of little things I loved, like Zeus walking into the arena and being too focused to even acknowledge the backstage workers, nice little short promo but then was given a whole new meaning when it was revealed he was deaf is one example. It's impressive the amount of little things you use, I'm not sure if it's intentionally planting a future plot point or using existing things you've mentioned... one example if the set of the pirate talk show thingy being on hydraulics, it's mentioned in passing each week, then in the end it becomes relevant when the Gearheads use it to attack.

Ali/Faith dynamic was great, although the way you went with it was the most natural and satisfying outcome it did keep me on my toes. Part of me expected Faith to sort of go all in, really lash out at Jenny and become a mega-bitch, perhaps even earn Ali's respect and lead them to being a genuine power couple. But like I say that wasn't really the natural progression and the way it went did wonders at making Ali detestable.

I enjoyed Jack Bruce as a whole, it was a little strange to see Bruce vs Decolt 2 not main event a show, but I understand your point of not knowing exactly where to go with it, or at least not having the time to properly tell the story. I enjoyed his whole 'Cena with the United States title style run'.

The rise of Express Delivery was great, it felt natural how they went from jokey weird gimmick to pretty genuinely scary with the whole 'mega corporation doesn't care about you we can replace you easily' shtick. I think that's your strength is giving them all fun and interesting characters who can sit in the background, but then when their called upon they can quickly appear to be a real threat.

Obviously you're carrying on for a while with the shorter write ups so no worries if these would be spoilers but one question I'm interested in...

I enjoyed Jenny Playmate's mission to manage a world champion, as it is pretty crazy if she's never achieved that with her long tenure in CGC, in your mind were you planning on giving her that soon? Or at least was it in the back of your mind for a future plan?

Fair enough, I was more-so worried about the picture since I dunno how to do that kind of thing. Our promotion isn't all that small though. We have had some pretty huge names over the last few years, as well as some stuff broadcast on local TV. We've sold out like 5 straight shows and the last one to not sell out had nearly 2,000 people.

Bret Hart, Tommy Dreamer, Tugboat, The Brainbusters, Ted DiBiase, Tyson Kidd, Billy Gunn, Mark Henry, Jimmy Hart, MJF, Tito Santana, Vickie Guerrero, Tyson Kidd, etc.

I wouldn't be put off by the idea of sorting your picture out, it's a lot easier than you're probably imagining. But if when you get the game you struggle and need any help adding yourself send me a message (or if you post again on the small questions thread you'll likely get someone more able than me to help you).

If you know how to add a worker to the database (which again is simple) then all you got to do is crop/resize a photo you got to the exact measurements (150x150), put it in the picture folder and then find it in game. But others might explain that better!

Very impressed with today's feature. As someone else said it's definitely something I've always wanted without even really noticing or thinking to request. Especially in some diaries like an old short lived SAW one I had, all of the matches in my head where this style, but I could never truly get into the save as the actual game mechanics just didn't sync up with what I was imagining. So this really does open up the game for so much more creativity.

It now means no matter how wacky your idea is it can be replicated in the game properly, I also like any feature that give gimmicks more uses and importance. Now if you have a legendary gimmick it will be nice to know even if you don't use cinematic matches often, you have that option in your back pocket.

I can also see them becoming a lot more popular/common in real life so it would have sucked if in 2/3 years time the game felt out dated without them, so it really is a huge feature for me.

Yeah there's plenty of similarities in some ways. Playing as a big company vs a local company feels a bit like the difference of starting FM as a champions league side vs a lower league team.

Also although it doesn't quite have anything like an assistant manager in FM, the preferences you can change mean that just like FM you can chose to get involved in every aspect of the game or if it's overwhelming it's easy to simply things just like you can get your assistant to take care of whatever you can't be bothered with in FM.

Most recent developers journal has release time expecting to be 2nd half of April. Demo is usually around a week before it if I remember correct. So probably 2nd or 3rd week of April if I had to guess.

Ali lost their DAVE debut last week against Freddy Huggins, This week one of them steps up against DDD. Both will be looking to gain some momentum and look to bigger and better things.

Despite successfully defending their titles at Elimination Chamber, The New Wave, were at the mercy of their opponents in a post match beat down. Well it's clear the tag veterans aren't going to stand for that and have challenged a member of the C.O.N.T.R.A to singles competition.

Is fitting that your biggest show is definitely my favourite yet. I could make the argument for any of these to get the sack...

Danjuro is actually decent, so in a world of outcasts he's the weird one that doesn't fit in.

Leopard King I just feel sorry for so maybe it would be best to send him home.

Lucas... well is Lucas. And he just stole your move you can't allow that to go unpunished.

As for Anders I feel like it would be very OWC for them to have to fire their strongly booked champion for some reason!

But I'll message who my vote goes to now.

So I'm playing around with products and when I double click on the 'Will make hardcore skill less effective' it comes up 'will make the hardcore skill penalised slightly when calculating the in ring performance'

Now I always thought the less effective means meant that it mattered less. So say I'm a technical no thrills promotion and have this in my product it means the hardcore stat make up a smaller percentage of how my in ring rating is scored? So it's essentially a good thing assuming most my roster don't have good hardcore stats. However the penalised comment when you double click it makes me think it's not this way, that the hardcore stat is still just as relevant, only that it gives a negative to each persons one, so somebody who is good at hardcore gets a worse score. But this then implies that having a bunch of these notes hurts your in ring score by penalising a bunch of things but not compensating by making those stats make up proportionally less than others.

So for example I've seen products that take the hardcore,puroresu,aerial and matt wrestling skills less effective. I always thought this just meant say brawling makes up a big percentage of your in ring stat but now I'm thinking what it is really doing is hurting my total in ring score by penalising a bunch of things?

Hopefully somebody gets what I mean and can confirm/clarify stuff!?

Main Event
Danny Fonzarelli vs BUFF

This is a total toss up, both have reasons to win, both have reasons to lose, I just think BUFF will lose because Floyd and Titan will cost him his match, and that way we can have another promo from Danny Fonzarelli, and continue to see this strange character, that has revitalised his career.

Whilst the BUFF/Titan thing is definitely not fully over, this week was the start of a new chapter for BUFF and with the restraining order/Floyd wanting to move on with Titan it's not necessarily going to be the main story for BUFF.

Ali vs Freddy Huggins

I don't if this is one of the Alis, or if this is a handicap match, but either way not even combining their popularities are you going to convince Huggins to lose to them, they are to low on popularity in the US, they need to build up before being taken seriously, I dont know where this story with Freddy Huggins is going, but I really hope he gets his punishment in the end, but he has to win tonight not only because he is facing unknows, but also because he is the number one contender to the Unified Title, so he needs to be kept strong, until RDJ beats him to a pulp.

Yeah I understand the Ali thing will be confusing! It's sort of meant to be as weird as that sounds. Their whole 'thing' is that it doesn't matter who/what they are personally, only the group identity matters. So in a way I want to confuse the reader which Ali is talking/which Ali is wrestling because I feel like that's what they would want. Saying that, it's a gimmick which sounds good in my head but could end up just annoying if I don't pull it off right!

You're right about their popularity though, one of the biggest challenges I have is that quite a lot of people I'm pushing as fairly major characters simply aren't high enough popularity wise for them to win without angering everyone. So it's tricky working out creative ways for them to still look strong or at least to keep the story lines going.

Noughty Boy vs ???

You know what I think about Bart Biggins, even with character change, nothing personal just business for me, but usually when theres a surprise opponent there is a 5 out of 7 possibility that is someone better than the one competitor known, so Im going with the surprise opponent on this one.

I fully get your feeling towards Bart, don't let his inclusion in the chamber fool you, I don't plan on him being near the top of the card too much at all. That said he does have a storyline at the moment that requires him to have some amount of momentum.

Hope people enjoy episode 8. As you'll see the format has changed a bit. Admittedly not having proper 2k19 pictures for each bit is a downgrade, but it's just a lot faster for me. So I imagine going forward I'll post weekly show like this and save the more time consuming/image heavy stuff for the PPVs. That said if there is anything in particular you like/don't like about any of it I'm definitely open to thoughts!

Would be interested in hearing the argument for allowing diaries from other sites to be included in DOTM here. I believe it got pretty comfortably voted against last month but I suppose it makes sense to keep it in the poll in case some people missed it then.

My thinking is it's best all round to have 1 central hub for all TEW diaries, that way you get all the best content without having to check numerous sites. I have no doubt that there's plenty of great diaries that aren't posting on here, but realistically you're not going to get most people visiting numerous sites so the polls won't be representative of the voters.

I'm also sure everyone has their reasons for posting elsewhere but if somebody was posting somewhere but wanted to be included in DOTM it wouldn't be hard at all for them to just cross post and have a thread with links up. Many writers at the moment (Eisen-verse, myself, 20LEgend) are posting shows in other formats (pdf/youtube etc) but still posting it here.

Personally I just think these forums are strongest when you have a decent amount of good quality diaries posting here. That way you have people reading each others, commenting on each others diaries and just in general there's more of a community. So whilst including other sites diaries into DOTM doesn't do anything directly to harm that, ideally anything that encourages people to post on GDS is a good thing, and if people want to be a part of DOTM then that's a good draw for this forum that should be protected.

Dr Love took last week off to heal after the Elimination Chamber match but is jumping straight back into action against the bulky behemoth BUFF. BUFF also took last week off after his loss to Titan, it's unsure what his next steps will be, one would assume he's after revenge but the restraining order imposed upon him by Floyd will surely prevent that.

First the first time, Ali makes his in ring debut. 'Guilty' Freddy Huggins hasn't been having the best time as of late despite winning a future DAVE Unified Title opportunity. Which man will pick up some momentum in this clash?

The man FKA Bart Biggins suffered a burst eardrum at the hands of Ricky Dale Johnson inside the Elimination Chamber but is supposedly already ready to compete. A mystery opponents awake the Millennium Man.

Another good episode, really liked Eric as the mouthpiece of Marat and the explanation behind him bringing him in. Cool way to bring the fact Phil isn't completely in charge to the screen. Got a bit of "The Network" in ECW about it.

Thought the restraining order on Buff was smart too, and Marc looks good in defeat, simply by being the one with the guts to be the first to step up to Khoklov. Interested in where Huggins goes, getting the treatment he deserves from his colleagues, and looking forward to RDJ and Marat's face off next week. Good stuff all round!

A lot of that was exactly my thinking so that's great. The RDJ/Marat face off was one of the first things planned for this diary, more so even than any match between the two, so I'm glad there is some interest.
