  1. FCW - The Fight For Freedom XIII Announcers: Lee Bambino and Cueball Lynch San Juan High School, 289 Attending House Handsome make their presence known early. Handsome Stranger brags about his lengthy reign and a cage could not stop him or House Handsome from winning tonight. This bold claim draws out Puerto Rican Power who decides that House Handsome not only be banned from ringside, but they will be fired on the spot if they ignore his decree. Handsome Stranger and Fredrique are livid and the two can be seen trying to make a plan as Puerto Rican power looks pleased with himself. Is it something seen many times before through the years and in various companies? Sometimes things just work and the three men are all good on the microphone due to their years of experience. With the way the trio delivered their lines and reactions this sort of bit could have worked on a bigger stage as well. El Toro De Oro was involved in the first match of the night. His opponent is NYCW's Chuck Casey. It is a dominant performance by De Oro and he defeats Casey in under five minutes. The crowd did not react well like last month and throwing him against someone the FCW fans are by no means familiar with was perhaps the best move. It is a stumbling block and it will be interesting to see if De Oro can bounce back with a better reaction from the fans next month. A pretty solid match for the undercard that is mostly highlighting the talent of Joffy Laine. Joffy has thrived in FCW, but they have yet to really pull the trigger on him just yet. Even so he gets a good reaction and always manages to get the best from his opponents. Case in point is Tex Tagan isn't exactly the best hand in the ring, but he is reliable and a good guy to have around. He is getting up in age and it is hard to see him wrestling much longer, but he did his duty tonight and put over the younger and more popular Joffy. The FCW Tag Team titles were on the line next as Relentless had to go up against the most decorated team in FCW history. It was a fast paced match that saw all men doing their best to steal the show and get the crowd into match. Relentless actually did well on their own, but to no surprise when they started to be on the losing end of the match both Xavi Ferrera and Juggernaut Jones get involved. First it is Jones distracting Rudy. When Rudy starts to go after Jones Ryan Holland finds himself distracted enough to not notice Xavi enter the ring and use his People's Championship as a weapon to take out Hector and bail out. Rob Reynolds and Ricochet Ramone put Hector Galindo away with the Real Deal Rocker and retain. Things were about to look worse too. It was about to turn into a four on two beatdown before Jesus Chavez comes sprinting out with a crowbar. House Handsome bail and decide even if they still had a numbers advantage they rather not risk being hit by the weapon that Jesus is wielding. It seems the Latino Kings are back at full strength, but even then it may not be enough to take down House Handsome. This match was a surprise one made and on top of that it was announced it would be a First Blood match. The two men were quick to go right at one another and their dislike for eachother showed quickly. The two fought through the crowd much to their delight and both were trying their best to bust the other open. It was hard hitting and a big brawl that the Puerto Rican audience loves. Brody may have had the size and strength advantage, but it was his own momentum that cost him the match. He was looking to charge Kip, but Kip was too fast and managed to move out of the way and let Brody's momentum carry him into the post then rolling outside the ring where he landed on the remnants of a table that was broken earlier. It seems a sharp edge of the debris cut the big man's arm and as he was climbing back in Ryan Holland noticed. Kip is declared the winner and Brody is irate. Not taking time to lead Brody go on a rampage, Kip is quick to knock him off the ring apron and back to the ground onto the debris again. Kip exits and and angry, beaten giant is left to lick his wounds. After the rather wild two matches before it, this is a short slog of a match that involves Bull Wrecker showing off his impressive strength. Kanishoki is just slow and plodding and thankfully isn't allowed to do much as this is more a showcase of Bull Wrecker who picks up a rather easy win with his Pancake Maker finisher. The more important bit is Ox Mastadon showing up after the match wanting Bull in the ring next month. Never one to back down from a fight Bull more than gladly accepts the challenge and the two stare one another down with neither man flinching. Eventually staff usher Ox backstage and Bull Wrecker leaves the ring. The semi-main event was a tag match to decide who would be facing Relentless for the tag team titles next month. The ever popular Puerto Rican Boys take on two of the toughest that FCW has to offer in The Harlem Knights. It wasn't a bad match, but it was marred by the fact that even though they have been teaming for awhile now, The Harlem Knights just seem awkward when wrestling together. It seems like it should work easily. Similar styles and gimmick, yet in practice it just doesn't work. There are timing issues and really both men look bad when in reality both are pretty good brawlers. To no surprise the majority of the match is a common theme with most involving The Puerto Rican Boys. Kid San Juan takes most of the beating and then Island Boy Apollo comes in to clean house. Apollo gets to show off his impressive strength when he tosses Harlem Haynes out of the ring with ease so he and Kid San Juan can put Curtis Shaw away with Welcome to the Island. The Puerto Rican Boys have a chance to win the FCW Tag Team titles for a fourth time next month. The main event finally gets under way as Handsome Stranger has perhaps his toughest title defense yet. Not only is he facing Mutant, he is now in a cage and has no help from the other House Handsome members. To no surprise he tries to duck and run as much as he can and his strategy is to try and climb out of the cage to win. Mutant isn't easily shaken or fooled and easily cuts the champ off and overpowers him time and time again. It just seems inevitable that the long stranglehold Handsome Stranger has had on the title is finally over. Though things take a surprising turn. For the first time in months Hell's Bouncer emerges and comes stomping towards the ring. Security tries to stop him, but he easily tosses them aside. The big man then reaches and starts to shake and tug at the cage. Both Mutant and Handsome Stranger aren't sure what is going on, but Stranger sees it as a distraction and tries to escape. Mutant catches him though and looks to deliver the Tina Turner only for the cage to snap and the side that Hell's bouncer was tugging on is ripped free where two of the posts connect and he can get into the ring. Handsome Stranger gets used as a thrown object that Bouncer catches and slams hard on the mat. Mutant then crashes into the fellow meat mountain and they start throwing heavy blows. Hurting, but still aware enough of his surroundings, Handsome Stranger makes it to the part of the cage that has been ripped up and escapes to retain. Security is filling the ring now trying to break up the two big men with little to no luck. It may not have been his fellow House Handsome members this time, but somehow Handsome Stranger gets away with another win with the help of another even if in this case it doesn't seem intentional.
  2. Weren't you the one that killed the last diary I was involved in?!
  3. FCW News for January 2020 El Toro De Oro made his first appearance for FCW and it seems he shall be returning in February. While mostly active in Mexico, El Toro De Oro has been in contact with Handsome Stranger for quite some time and finally accepted an offer made at the end of last year. It appears Handsome Stranger is high on the newest member of FCW's roster, but it may take a few months for him to settle in and find out where he is on the totem pole. He made a good first impression at least so he has at least gotten off on the right foot. It has been confirmed he will be on next month's show, but no opponent has been named as of yet. El Toro De Oro isn't the only person it seems Handsome Stranger has been in contact with. It appears he has still kept in touch with former FCW wrestler Kashimir Singh and following the Indian's progress in trying to open a wrestling company in his home country. Singh has already been training several new people from young to old and it is said some of his younger prospects are in need of a place to work so they could hone their skills. If one or more of Singh's students do show up in FCW it would be no surprise. India is obviously a long way from Puerto Rico, but the chance to work matches in front of a crowd could be worth the time and money for the prospects to travel across the country. The last bit of news involving FCW is a new relationship between the Puerto Rican company and New York City Wrestling. It is said to be a amiable relationship that will see both companies trade talent while also refraining from signing workers from one another. It is very similar to the deal FCW has with Pittsburg Steel Wrestling. Fans of both companies maybe be seeing stars make the jump as soon as next month's show.
  4. HiPlus doing a Aussie diary. All is right in the world. Just got caught up and enjoying everything. Keep up the good work as always.
  5. The year was 2007 and the duo of Puerto Rican Power and Shawn Gonzalez decided open up the first major company in the country of Puerto Rico. The idea was to hire a mixture of talent left unemployed with the closure of DAVE, the signing of a few veterans, as well as using a core of young workers being trained by Shawn Gonzalez would be more than enough to create a viable product. Given the popularity of Puerto Rican Power the company took off and continues to put on good shows all through Puerto Rico. Things looked good for the company, but it seems every time the company is making great strides tragedy would strike. The first big blow to FCW was the sudden death of Shawn Gonzalez. Not only did the company lose one of the top names, but the man who was also their head booker. In October Shawn went on a diving trip that ended with him losing his life. Some thought this would see FCW close up shop, but instead the Puerto Rican Power continued to run shows after a brief pause to mourn the loss of his friend. Taking up the mantle of head booker would be Handsome Stranger, a former USPW and SWF wrestler that joined FCW and has been with the company since their first show. The company managed to recover and Handsome Stranger ended up being a great choice for booker. FCW continued to thrive and for six years until it hit a wall again. In 2017 Puerto Rican Power suffered a heart attack while in his home in San Juan. It could have ended in another death, but after some time the owner of FCW managed to recover, though he was told not to wrestle again. The loss of their top star and a constant champion was a big blow. One that was only mildly softened by the fact Puerto Rican Power could still appear in front of crowds and act as the Commissioner of FCW. This combined with several other aging talents retiring over the past few years has meant Handsome Stranger has had to get creative. His creation of House Handsome has helped give a vile stable for fans to root against as well as allowed for newer faces such as Kip Keenan and Mutant to move into the main event picture. Of course at 44 years of age Handsome Stranger knows his time in the ring is coming to an end. While he still remains the top heel in the company it is felt he will start to wind down in the upcoming years while trying to find new talent to move up the ladder to eventually take his place. It is being said Handsome Stranger along with Puerto Rican Power are looking to once again and try to expand FCW to be seen by more faces. With Wrestleword soon going live in a few months it is believed that will be the first step to getting some exposure outside of Puerto Rico as well as the owner and booker planning on bringing in some new talent and make deals that would see talent exchanges among other companies. FCW and PSW have already been working together several years it is believed Handsome Stranger is looking to set up a talent trading agreement with at least one other company. Once again the future looks bright for FCW, but will another tragedy strike like before?
  6. Hey all. Welcome to another adventure with the voeltzwagon. Life has gotten a little less hectic as of late so I have had time to actually get back into TEW for a bit and get some ideas. The first show I just wanted to do a brief blub on before probably settling more into how I tend to post shows, but I just recently started this diary and I am only into April so who knows what this game has in store when it comes to surprises. Hope all that tend to read my hijinx and those new to my diaries will enjoy the content and I am looking forward to getting a few more posts in over the next few days.
  7. FCW held their first in 2020 with January's FREEDOM Fighters at San Juan High School. The show was filled with the usual chaotic brawls as well as some twists and turns to the ongoing stories happening in the company. Let us take a look at some of the big points of the show that included several tag matches and a surprise debute during the first match of the evening. USAce had no idea who was facing in the first match and it took only moments for his night to go downhill quickly. Former MPWF star and a mainstay on the Mexican independent scene, El Toro De Oro, made his debut in FCW. Instead of being a traditional luchador, De Oro is a brawler that fits in just fine with the Puerto Rican company and had a rather easy time taking down USAce. He controlled the majority of the match and eventually finished USAce with a brutal, Spinal Shocker Gore that pretty much folded the other masked wrestler in half. It is unlikely this is a one off appearance and hopefully in the next few days more info will be available on what looks to be FCW's newest addition. Relentless have had a stroke of good luck since joining House Handsome. Of course given the group is notorious for their cheating ways and use of the numbers game that is no surprise. The champs were in action against Young & Wasted with the belts on the line. It wasn't long before Xavi Ferrera caused a distraction that allowed the champs to retain. After the cheap victory the duo were approached by Hector Galindo and Rudy Velasquez wanted revenge for House Handsome injuring Jesus Chavez. A title match was made for next month as Relentless must face the most decorated tag team in FCW history. It also wasn't the last we saw of Xavi Ferrera for the evening. He was defending his FCW People's Championship against the man he won the belt from back in October, Joffy Laine. It was a hard fought battle and it looked like Joffy had things in hand, but the numbers game that won out. The muscle of House Handsome, Juggernaut Jones used a timely distraction from Xavi to lay out Joffy and allow the champ to retain. House Handsome retains their grip on all of the gold in FCW for at least another month with Handsome Stranger involved in a tag match for the main event. The semi-Main event of the night saw a tag match that featured two feuds coming to a head. Kip and Brody have been in quite the violent feud over the past few months and yet perhaps the feud between Ox Mastadon and Bull Wrecker has been even crazier. Needless to say it was a wild brawl between all the men that left Ryan Holland with quite the job to try and keep order. The difference here is Ox and Kip being able to work together while Giant Brody and Bull Wrecker often wanted to show they could win the match on their own. The two eventually came to blows and Bull Wrecker laying out Brody and walking off. The team of Ox and Kip didn't wait to capitalize on this and Ox hit the Ten Ton Splash to pick up the win. Both of these feuds don't look like they are ending just yet and Bull Wrecker on top of it has made yet another enemy one would think. The big man has turned into lone wolf and can't seem to manage to work together with anyone the past several months. The main event saw four of the biggest names in FCW facing off. The leader of House Handsome, Handsome Stranger and his right hand man, Fredrique took on the team of Bradford Peverell and Mutant. The latter duo have made a pact to try and take down House Handsome and have so far not been able to do so. Frederique is the reason Bradford Peverell and Kip Keenan lost their tag titles to Relentless and Handsome Stranger has been fearful of Mutant's rise as a fan favorite in FCW. Handsome were outmatched in strength here and looked to be close to defeat, but other members of House Handsome made sure that wouldn't be easy. Juggernaut Jones managed to get Mutant's attention and allowed Fredrique to jump the big man. While Ryan Holland was trying to break up the fight outside and chase Jones off it would be Xavi Ferrera who hit Bradford Peverell with a chair shot. Xavi was quick to bail and Peverell was hit with a Catalan Twist for extra measure to pick up the win. The celebration was short because Puerto Rican Power came out seeming unhappy about how things went down. Handsome Stranger soon found he would be facing the man he did not pin next month, Mutant. The FCW Puerto Rican championship will be on the line and will be contested in a cage. It looks like February is going to be a rather exciting show and only two matches have been announced so far. The cage match along with the tag titles should both be good matches and given the surprise debut tonight many might be left wondering if more surprises like that are in the pipeline.
  8. TCP presents: Night of Glory Staff: Road Agents: Rick Sanders, Buddy Garner Referees: Clarence Garcia Announcers: None Attendance: 124 The Prime Time Blondes are the first men out much to the disappointment of the fans. The Canadian Blondes are flashing off their tag titles and enjoying the boos as Jack takes the microphone in hand. Jack Pryde: "Shut it! Tonight is going to be a special night for us. You all are lucky not only to be in our presence, but for tonight we are bringing in an honorary member tonight. He is the North American Wrestling Alliance Prestige champion, Fredrique!" Fredrique comes out acting a bit less flamboyant than he normally would, but still exudes cockiness and a 'better than you' attitude with ease. He gets in the ring to hug the members of the Prime Time Blondes and Jack gives Fredrique the microphone. Fredrique: "You weren't kidding. This place is full of disappointment. I can't wait to get out of here and get back to Puerto Rico and enjoy the warm beaches. I'll beat Remmy Skye tonight and hopefully I never have to come back again!" Jack Pryde: "It is going to be a good night for us. Fredrique here is going to keep his title, Ozzie and Flash are going to keep their titles, and I have that MMA failure Christopher Ball tonight. I'll show not only is a MMA failure, but also a failure at wrestling." The group hold their hands and titles up high as the fans boo again and they make their exit. Rating: 43 Papa Swoll, Iron Hyodo and Wataru Kikumoto with DeAnna Desire vs Hammer Hadley and the Hot Taggs A hard hitting trios match where it sees Hadley ducking Swoll through the majority of it. It is Hyodo that takes a good beating once he gets cut off from his partners and Hadley often tags in to taunt Swoll keeps trying to get in which only allows Hyodo to take even more of a beating. A miscue between the Taggs is what allows Hyodo to duck a double clothesline and he dives to tag in Swoll who goes to town on both Taggs. Hadley tries a sneak attack, but Swoll catches him in time and takes him down. Kalder Tagg interrupts and prevents Swoll from doing more damage which also allows Hadley to exit the ring. Swoll fights off Kalder and launches him off the ropes. Swoll lands The Pounce and gets his team the win. Winners: Papa Swoll, Iron Hyodo and Wataru Kikumoto Rating: 30 Swoll remains in the ring and DeAnna joins him to hand a microphone over. Hadley has already fully retreated looking to want nothing to do with his fellow big man. Papa Swoll: "What's the matter? Not so tough now are you? Come on big man. Come show me you're the baddest man here in TCP. I am begging you to come out." ???: "Or you can shut up and get out of my ring." Quentin Queen emerges with Marina Del Ray at his side. He looks annoyed and just shakes his head at Papa Swoll. Quentin Queen: "So much bluster for a big man that can't seem to win on his own. Meanwhile I am left to languish and not have a match because of oafs like you-" Papa Swoll: "Shut up! You want to get in this? You want to be in the ring? You want to be a big maaaaaan? I tell you what. I will hold off on beating Hadley down. Next month you got a match. If you want a beating that bad you got it." Queen does not look pleased and Swoll starts to get out of the ring to approach him. He and Marina are quick to flee after realizing perhaps poking the already amped up Papa Swoll was a terrible idea a bit too late. Rating: 30 Pepper Pelton vs Sandman Winks Two of the younger stars face off in a relatively short match that seems more to showcase Sandman Winks than anything. Pelton gets his flurry of being a fiery babyface making a comeback, but for the most part Winks uses his slower, methodical pace to keep control of the match. Pelton tries one last attempt at a comeback, but Winks gets an eyerake and then slaps on Deep Sleep. Pepper struggles but eventually falls unconcious. Winner: Sandman Winks Rating: 23 Prime Time Jack Pryde vs Christopher Ball Ball didn't seem to enjoy hearing what was said about him earlier because he quickly jumps on Jack and starts to beat him pillar to post. Jack has to bail quickly to try and recover and Ball goes to give chase. It allows Jack to get back in the ring and attack the chasing Ball when he dives back in. Jack takes control for a bit, but it turns into more of a back and forth match. Ball is often proving to be a bit too much for Jack. Of course someone like Jack doesn't play by the rules and he gets a nice handful of tights when he rolls up Ball by surprise and gets a three count. Winner: Prime Time Jack Pryde Rating: 26 NAWA Tag Team Championship The Canadian Blondes (c) vs Drop Kix and Flying Patriot One of the few tag teams from ECW make their presence known in TCP as they look to make a name for themselves. The main problem is they are still getting used to being a team and Flying Patriot shows while he can provide a big, exciting move or two he is very much the odd man out and the other three are doing their best to hide out green he is. It is mostly one sided with the champions looking good and keeping control of the match for the most part. It is Patriot who takes the majority of the beating, but he does manage to tag in Kix who manages to get some momentum with the hot tag. It just isn't enough and the champs take over again. Ozzie soon puts Drop Kix away with a Golden Shower and the champs retain. Winner and STILL Champions: The Canadian Blondes (Defenses: 2) Rating: 37 NAWA Prestige Championship Fredrique (c) vs Remmy Skye Fredrique might be the biggest star to grace TCP's ring for a long while and he shows even at his advanced age he is still a great worker. Remmy is no slouch as well and the two work to put on a great main event. Fredrique controls a good amount of the match, but Remmy seems to find ways to come back and make the audience he might just be able to pull it off. In fact as the match drags on he seems to be finding himself building momentum and putting the champion in trouble. He is wearing Fredrique down and not holding back as he is throwing every move in his arsenal out in an attempt to win. Everything is going his way until.... This jerk. Jack Pryde comes to ringside and quickly gets the attention of Remmy. It is enough to help Fredrique to jump Remmy and regain control. Jack seems pleased with himself until Remmy reverses being thrown into the ropes and tosses Fredrique right out onto a Jack Pryde. Remmy soon dives out to pile on the pair. Remmy gets up first and goes to throw Fredrique into the ring, but when he goes to jump in himself Jack pulls Remmy's leg out from under him during the brief moment Garcia is checking on Fredrique. The champ recovers and tugs Remmy into the ring. He nails Romeo is Bleeding and retrains. Winner and STILL Champion: Fredrique (Defenses: 1) Rating: 59 Fredrique leaves after some grandstanding and Jack Pryde looks like he is ready to do further damage to a recovering Remmy. He changes his mind when Max Mayhem and Ace Youngblood come to the ring. Jack wisely bails and lets the pair check on Remmy who is managing to get to his feet and he asks for a microphone. Remmy Skye: "I am just about tired of your antics. You three want to be nothing but trouble that is fine by me. Next month there will be no more of these sneak attacks or numbers game. Next month we get all three of you at once and we'll see just how 'dominant' you are." Rating: 28 Final Rating: 49
  9. Follow up to previous post. I am obviously playing as DIW, but in May 2021 turned into a crazy month for PSW in that save. In the first week USPW decided to sign Earnest Youngman and in week 2 TCW signed Nelson Callum. So the top two guys were suddenly leaving. Apparently it gave Alex Braun heart problems because come Monday of week 3 Alex dies. By the end of the month Johnny Martin took over the book which makes sense I suppose. As for the new color guy? Well Big Smack Scott is now in the booth.
  10. Magic. Beautiful hardcore magic is happening in one of my saves.
  11. "Larry, what the hell?" Larry Vessey: "I am guessing you heard about what happened last night." He would be very correct. Not only heard but actually saw as well. He could tell there was annoyance in my voice, but it is less anger that I was feeling at the moment and more confusion. The Canadian Blondes had told me soon after our show they were heading to New York to defend the titles which I was obviously more than fine with. They are the NAWA tag champs for a reason and it is expected they will be traveling between the four companies to make defenses. I was happy for them and even paid to watch the NYCW show on Wrestleworld to see how they do. What I get is not a NAWA tag defense... Instead the two had a match against one another. Granted it was a good match, even match of the night, but I was flabbergasted to the point I thought it best to wait until the morning after to get into contact with Larry to see what was even going on. "I am fine with you flying the boys over. I am even fine if you decided not to put on a title match, but did you really have to have them face off against one another?" Larry Vessey: "I talked to Steve about it. There was some chaos backstage and we had to change a few things up. I'll take the blame on this because I was caught up working with the battle royal guys and didn't find out about the change there until after they were already in the ring." I couldn't tell if it was the truth or if Steve was being thrown under the bus here. I don't think Larry is the type to do that, but all my years in wrestling sometimes I often wonder how much a person is telling the truth in situations like this. "Well just pass it onto Steve that if a similar situation ever comes up again just don't book the poor guys. We got a small audience, but you are big enough you are drawing some eyes through WrestleWorld. Their first exposure to our tag champs now is seeing them face off for no reason." Larry Vessey: "It isn't going to happen again, Buddy. I promise you that." I let out a sigh after hanging up. It was not the start I had hoped when it came to The Canadian Blondes going out to represent TCP. All I could hope is Puerto Rican Power and TJ wouldn't make similar strange decisions when the duo appeared in FCW and ECW respectively.
  12. TCP presents: Warrior's Pride 1 Staff: Road Agents: Rick Sanders, Buddy Garner Referees: Clarence Garcia Announcers: None Attendance: 122 Christopher Ball and Minnesota Awesome vs Dominic DeGraff and The Past Masters A six man tag starts off the show with several of the younger talents getting to showcase their stuff for around ten minutes. Ball and Minnesota Awesome use a high tempo offensive gameplan against the slower, more methodical place of Degraff and The Past Masters. Each man is allowed to showcase some of their offense in a equally contested bout and near the end it looks like the team of Degraff and The Past Masters have control once they have cut off Clark Smallbone. A miscue sees both Past Masters collide when Clark manages to break free at the last moment during a double team and he tags in Christopher Ball whom starts to clean house. DeGraff gets tagged in, but it doesn't do much to stop the momentum. Ball dumps both Past Masters outside and tags in Perry Longstaff. Clark has managed to recover at this point and the pair deliver double flying elbows. Perry makes the pin and picks up the win. Winners: Chrisopher Ball and Minnesota Awesome Rating: 28 Papa Swoll with DeAnna Desire vs Hammer Hadley The two big men clash again as Papa looks for revenge after last month's match. Both aren't holding back and are bringing out all the heaving strikes and slams to try and get one over on their opponent. Hammer rakes Swoll's eyes and it allows him to get an advantage for some time. He looks to hit the lariat, but Swoll ducks and starts to make his comeback. He has Hammer reeling and looks ready to hit The Pounce, but Hadley has enough awareness to bail. Swoll goves after him and Hadley manages to get to DeAnna and pull her in front of him causing Swoll to stop so he doesn't collide into her. Hammer pushes DeAnna right towards Swoll who catches her to steady, but it is enough for Hadley to nail the Lariat and take Swoll out. For extra measure he hefts Swoll and throws him into the post before getting back to the ring. A dazed Swoll recovers and tries to get back into the ring in time, but is about half a second behind Garcia's counting. Swoll doesn't make it in time and to add insult to injury Hadley assaults Swoll as the bell rings Winner: Hammer Hadley via Count Out Rating: 29 Hadley continues his assault and looks to put an end to Papa Swoll once and for all. He looks ready to choke Swoll out again like last month, but the big man manages to mount a comeback. He starts to rock Hadley with some big strikes and Hammer once again flees from the ring. This time he slowly backs away from the ring as Papa Swoll yells at him to come get some. Rating: 29 Quentin Queen with Marina Del Ray vs Pepper Pelton One of the veterans of TCP takes on perhaps one of its future stars in Pepper Pelton. The latter still needs a lot of work, but Queen does well to help hide Pepper's weaknesses and pulls a perhaps the best match he could out of the rookie. Queen controls the majority of the match, but Pepper does get in a few fiery babyface comebacks that require cheating on Queen and Marina's part to get momentum back in the veteran's favor. Pepper fights valiantly, but the experience and the constant distractions from Marina make it an uphill battle he cannot overcome. Queen in the end lands the Q-Ball on Pelton and picks up a victory. Winner: Quentin Queen Rating: 38 Remmy Skye vs Prime Time Jack Pryde Similar to the last match where a veteran is doing his best to mask the weaknesses of his less experienced opponent. Remmy is perhaps not as well rounded as Queen, but he still does well making Jack look like a legit threat and spends a good amount of the early match taking a beating from the cocky youth. Of course Jack's ego gets the better of him and he toys with Remmy too long. It allows Remmy to mount a comeback and he starts to overwhelm Jack with his quick offense. Remmy is rolling while Jack seems almost in a panic. Seeing things go south so quickly Jack decides on how he hands it and kicks Remmy right between the legs in front of Clarence Garcia who quickly calls for the bell. Winner via DQ: Remmy Skye Rating: 34 Annoyed and seeing a chance to add insult to injury, Jack starts to work over Remmy. Garcia tries to break things up, but gets shoved aside by Jack. He finally delivers a Prydefall to end his beatdown and leave Remmy laid out unconcious while Garcia checks on the fallen veteran. A smug Jack just walks to the back as the small crowd boos at him. Rating: 30 NAWA Tag Team Championship The Canadian Blondes (c) vs Brooklyn's Finest The Blondes defend their freshly won tag titles against one of NYCW's best young teams. Both duos look good in the showing, though the Blondes continue to show they are two of the best workers TCP has on the roster. They have yet to disappoint and this showing is no different. The match is a rollercoaster of face paced action for some time before things slow down usually when the babyfaces manage to ground the high flying duo from Canada. Surprisgly Jack does not show up to assist his partners in crime, but it doesn't mean that it is a fair match overall. Near the end Brooklyn's Finest are in control with Freedom Eagle taking on Ozzie when the latter deciding to try and start messing with Eagle's mask. He tears the mask to the point Eagle has to cover up and Ozzie is quick to throw him towards Hawkeye Calhoun and knock him off the apron. Ozzie quickly hits the Golden Shower and picks up the victory with Hawkeye being moments too late to break up the pin. Winners and STILL NAWA Tag Team Champions: The Canadian Blondes (Defenses: 1) Rating: 43 Final Rating: 40
  13. I never thought I would still be so active in the world of wrestling in 2020. Back in 2016 when I hung up my boots I had the mindset of just getting a part time job to keep me distracted and maybe work as an agent on small shows every once in awhile. I had a better career than most and I felt for the most part my time in the industry was done. That was until Larry Vessey contacted me a few months back. We have always gotten along and kept in touch mostly through text. Mostly he would check up to see how I was or what I was getting into these days. It was rare for an actual call and then he told me about his whole plan for the North American Wrestling Alliance. At the time it was just in the early stages of planning. He had FCW already agreeing to join up, but beyond that there was no other real options in Larry's eyes. He didn't want to expand into Mexico just yet and ACPW didn't seem keen on joining. That is when Larry got creative. He found TJ Bailey and talked him into starting up a company in St. Louis and then he managed to get into contact with Buddy Garner up in Minnesota. TJ decided to run things himself, but Buddy was more apprehensive. He had the money, but he wasn't keen on booking. That is where I came into play. I would help Larry out with booking from time to time and I have been around the business long enough to pick up things over the past few decades. I flew out to meet Buddy and we talked about what we wanted to do. The idea he had was simple and fact he liked the idea to feature tag team matches as main events primarily sold me on the idea. In the end the decisions were made on doing some scouting and get a primary roster together. He would work as an agent with the singles matches and I would work as the agent for tag matches. Buddy also has left scouting for new talent in the US and Canada to me while he would keep tabs on names over in Japan. Before long TCP was ready to launch. It has only been three months, but I felt like the company has done well. We have made profit each month and the talent all seem to be happy. Perhaps more than happy given during my time scouting on the internet for new talent I came across some articles that actually involved our talent. Namely Perry Longstaff and Marina Del Ray were dating and a few days later it would seem Hammer Hadley and DeAnna Desire announced they were an item. I guess as long as they are happy it won't be a problem, but I am not looking forward if things go ugly and a breakup happens. For now TCP pushes forward and me and Buddy just try to take things show to show and not plan too far ahead, though we have discussed something of a major show in the later part of the year to stand out from the rest we run. The year isn't getting any longer so the decision will be made sooner than later.
  14. TCP presents: Honorbound Staff: Road Agents: Rick Sanders, Buddy Garner Referees: Clarence Garcia Announcers: None Attendance: 123 The Past Masters vs Hyodo and Kikumoto The show starts with a decent tag team bout. The Past Masters have the slight edge in experience as a team, but Hyodo and Kikumoto show they can compete and do well even if this is only their second match ever as a team. The two sides often trade momentum with varying strikes and submission holds. At one point Sandman and Hyodo both break out their version of the Sleeper on Kikumoto and The Historian respectively. Historian breaks free first though and manages to take out Hyodo. Winks releases his own hold on Kikumoto so both he and Historian can connect with Blast from the Past on Kikumoto and gain victory. Winners: The Past Masters Rating: 26 Dominic DeGraff vs Pepper Pelton Lessons were learned about Pelton last month and his weaknesses were a bit better hidden. Dominic is a fair enough talent to control and lead the short match between young talents trying to make a mark. It is mostly a brawl between the two involving stiff hits with power moves. Both men get to show off, but Pepper gets a fiery comeback after a short time of Dominic dominating. Pelton manages to deliver a few strikes to soften Dominic up before hefting him and nailing him with a fisherman's suplex that allows Pepper to pick up the win. Winner: Pepper Pelton Rating: 21 Hammer Hadley vs Papa Swoll with Deanna Desire It is battle of the big beefy boys as Swoll and Hadley square off. The last match was hard hitting, but this one takes it to another level with both men going all out to try and beat the other one down and show who will be the dominant force in TCP. Swoll is also the one man perhaps on the roster who can lift up Hadley with ease to hit him with some big slams and suplexes. This makes Hammer change up his gameplan from domination to cheating as well. Whenever he can he tries to get in a good eye rake or use the ropes to his advantage. Clarence Garcia does well at catching him in most acts to admonish him, but at one point the two are locked up and Clarence tries to break them up. Hammer hammer's Papa with a knee to the groin in the scuffle to stagger him and lock in his Choke Sleeper. Swoll fights it and can't shake off Hadley. Eventually Swoll is down on a knee then grounded. Garcia checks on him and calls the match, though Swoll did not tap. Winner: Hammer Hadley Rating: 29 DeAnna Desire checks on Swoll who starts to get up after Hadley leaves the ring. The big man doesn't look pleased and he is still struggling a bit for breath as he motions for a microphone. He gets to his feet and while still winded he speaks. Papa Swoll: "You think this is over? Hell naw. You don't hit a man with a low blow and think you are the baddest around here. You might have a win tonight, but deep down you know it is a hollow one. Come at me again and see how lucky you get. I'll be waiting, sucka." Rating: 30 It seems we are in for some more talking. Once Swoll and DeAnna are gone Quentin Queen along with Marina Del Ray enter the ring. After a bit of showboating Queen takes the mic in hand and addresses the crowd. Quentin Queen: "My last match was a fluke. Remmy Skye is a rapscallion that cheated to win and everyone in this building knows it. You just cheer him because you all are jealous of my in ring ability. Well tonight you will just grow more jealous. It looks like they found some fossil for me to face off against and tonight I will begin my rise to the top of Twin Cities Promotions." Rating: 33 Quentin Queen with Marina Del Ray vs Barry Griffin A world traveler, Barry Griffin may be in the twilight of his career, but he soon shows Queen he is not to be underestimated. He is still a tough individual and has been wrestling pretty much since Queen was born. Barry starts off the match strong and uses some stiff strikes along with a variety of submission holds to keep Queen on his toes and constantly having to bail out for a powder. Momentum shifts in the younger wrestler's favor when Marina manages to trip up Barry when he was coming off the ropes. Queen is quick to get the advantage and starts to work over the veteran. He may be smug and annoying, but Queen also shows he is very good in the ring himself. He does well to blend a variety of styles into his offense and after Barry attempts a fiery comeback it is Queen that manages to quash that comeback and deliver the Q-Ball to emerge victorious. Winner: Quentin Queen Rating: 38 Crowning of the NAWA Tag Team Champions Aces of Mayhem vs The Canadian Blondes Perhaps it should be no surprised the two teams with the most experience have made it this far. Both are also former Mid Atlantic Tag Team champions, but never faced off for those titles. All four men brought their working boots on, though Ace seems to either be feeling rusty or nerves might be getting to him. He looks good, but it just feels he is a step or two behind the other three men in the match. There are a lot of dives and flasy moves on display from the four veterans and it constantly sees momentum shift between the two, but never for long periods of time. They are rather evenly matched, but the Blondes do have a trick up their sleeve. That trick would be Prime Time Jack Pryde who soon at ringside just 'watching' and mostly staying in the corner biding his time. That time is when the four men all end up in the ring and chaos is ensuing. Clarence Garcia is trying to get control and is distracted by Jack getting in the ring. He catches Max from behind and sends him to the outside and quickly exits. Flash sees this and has the referee still distracted long enough for Ozzie to poke Ace in the eye and hit him with the Golden Shower. Flash backs off and allows Clarence to turn about and count the pinfall. The Canadian Blondes make history. Winners and NEW NAWA Tag Team Champions: The Canadian Blondes Rating: 43 The Prime Time Blondes stand tall in the ring with Ozzie and Flash holding their newly won titles. Jack gets a microphone while the other two celebrate. Jack Pryde: "I told you all we are taking this place over. TCP and NAWA are ours to rule and there isn't anyone here that is going to be able to stop us! You better get used to seeing us run this place or you can get the hell out of our building!" Rating: 28 Final Rating: 39
  15. "Hey Jack, can we talk a moment?" It was just an hour or so before the show. Everyone had been at the venue for a bit and were getting settled in. The majority were hanging out and watching DeAnna who was doing some impressions of the guys and getting a good laugh. Even Flash who is usually ignoring everyone was watching with a slightly bemused smirk. Jack was among them and he looked almost worried when I asked to talk and I had him follow me to a room I tend to use as my makeshift office to go over matches with the boys. Jack: "What's up? Something the matter?" "Jack, you got a look at some things that can't be taught in this business. It is just going to take the right guy to see you and doors are going to open. What can be taught is how to be better in the ring. You got the fundamentals down, but you have plenty of room for improvement. I can't help with your promo or anything like that, but I can make you a more well rounded wrestler. Let me help train you. I promise I will do what I can to get you a big break and become a star. What do you say?" It seems like Jack was still processing the offer. He has mostly dealt with Rick so me coming out of the blue with this offer has to come off as a surprise. Though when he starts to realize what I was offering he offers a smile and holds out his hand. A firm shake soon followed. Jack: "I appreciate it. I will do what I can to learn from you." "It will take time, but we'll get you there, Jack. Now go back to getting ready for the evening. We'll talk more later." OOC: Before the show DeAnna Desire entertained the locker room by doing impressions. Buddy Garner has taken Jack Pryde under his wing as a protege
  16. Mistakes will always be made. I have made plenty in both the world of mixed martial arts and in wrestling. It is something that everyone has to deal with. Hopefully it is a teaching moment and we manage not to make the same one. I never planned on running a promotion and Rick was never planning on being a booker before Larry had a talk with us. Mistakes are bound to happen and perhaps our first glaring one was expecting Pepper Pelton and Jack Pryde to be able to handle a ten minute match against one another. I think both young men have a bright future ahead of them, but I also need to remember they have a lot of work to do from an in ring perspective. There is a reason why Jack is with Ozzie and Flash. Pepper will be in our plans, but right now he is there to get an occasional win and work with some other talents for the experience. The one positive is they seem to work well facing one another and maybe after they get more time to develop we can give them another match. One that won't expose them too much. Beyond that I feel we are still going in the right direction. I think our first show as a whole was better, but the main event of Remmy and Queen was a big reason. Minnesota Awesome are two other young, green talents I think have a bright future and they had the luck of facing off with Ozzie and Flash. They have been around long enough to know how to hide the weaknesses of their opponents and even in a loss I feel Clark and Perry came out looking better. Same can be said with Ace and Max helping out the Tagg brothers. Then there was Mercutio Sleep selling his ass off for Hammer Hadley. Mercutio lives in the general area and while not under a full contract he will pop up for us from time to time. Maybe as we grow and need more veteran talent he might earn a permanent spot. Finally we look towards March. The NAWA Prestige title has already been decided and we will be crowning the first NAWA tag champs. TJ got the lucky draw for the NAWA Junior Prestige, but with ECW's focus on lightweights it would make sense. Oddly it is NYCW that will be without a champ. It seemed fitting if Larry at least had one of the titles, but it seems he is fine with NYCW stands and wants the other promotions to get a bit of a rub by featuring the alliance titles to start. I feel confident no matter who wins will take the ball they are given and run with it.
  17. TCP presents: Twin City Showdown Staff: Road Agents: Rick Sanders, Buddy Garner Referees: Clarence Garcia Announcers: None Attendance: 117 Primetime Jack Pryde and The Canadian Blondes head to the ring to start things off. With mic in hand Jack is the first to speak for the trio that is collectively calling themselves The Primetime Blondes. Jack: "What you saw last month is just a taste of what is going to happen. Remmy Skye made a mistake and paid for it. He is just the first of many. We are going to rule this place and there is nothing anyone is going to do about it." Ozzie: "It goes beyond that, Jack. It isn't just TCP. All of the North American Wrestling Alliance will realize our greatness and it all starts tonight." Flash: "Two matches. Two easy wins. One tonight and the other next month, then we will have the North American Wrestling Alliance tag titles in our hands and I dare anyone to try and take them from us." Jack: "Tonight I got some loser named Pepper Pelton to beat on. Ozzie and Flash here are going to take care of the Canadian Blonde wannabes that call themselves Minnesota Awesome and when that is done we are going to celebrate like there is no tomorrow." With all that being said the trio exit the ring and head to the back as the first match gets ready to start. Rating: 32 The Hot Taggs vs Aces of Mayhem The Hot Taggs start the show off again, this time the young duo face off against the veteran team of Ace Youngblood and Max Mayhem. It has been several years since the two have wrestled together and they start off a bit rusty. This gives the larger Taggs the early advantage and they use their size and strength to keep Max in their corner for a good while. Max eventually escapes and manages to tag Ace in. Ace starts rolling and the Aces soon start to find their groove as the match goes on. The Taggs manage to stall the momentum a few times, but Ace and Max always seem to find a way to regain it. Ace eventually knocks Kalder out of the ring and sets up Wolfie for Max to nail with the Chaos Effect. A three count soon follows Winners: Aces of Mayhem Rating: 36 Hammer Hadley vs Mercutio Sleep The monster known as Hammer Hadley finds himself destroying a much smaller opponent once again. Sleep gets little offense in and what he does manage to connect with barely seems to slow down Hadley. Hadley mostly toys around with Sleep and tosses him about with ease. One giant Lariat later and Hammer picks up another win. Winner: Hammer Hadley Rating: 36 Hammer Hadley looks ready to inflict more pain on the already beaten Mercutio Sleep when DeAnna Desire comes out to once again introduce Papa Swoll. Swoll emerges with a swagger in his step and microphone in hand. He fully has Hammer's attention at this point. Papa Swoll: "Yo, big man. Are you tired of playing with the kids? How about next month you face a man. I bet you can't throw me around like that. In fact if anyone going to be tossed about it will be you. Come on and step up, sucka." Hammer Hadley doesn't even have to consider. He shows no signs of being intimidated by the imposing Swoll and just nods in agreement to the challenge. That causes Swoll to smile wide and not in return. Papa Swoll: "Now that is what I like. No hesitation about getting an ass kicking from me. I'll see you next month and we'll see who the big dog is around here, sucka." Rating: 27 Primetime Jack Pryde vs Pepper Pelton Both young talents look like future stars, but the match proves both men have a long way to go. There are flashes of what may come to be, but the match itself is perhaps too long and it exposes how green both men are. With that being said they do seem to have a natural chemistry working together and if perhaps a few minutes were shaved off the bout it would have been enough to hide their weaknesses. The match itself is a back and forth with Jack often showing he isn't against cheating and uses it fully to his advantage. Pepper is a fiery brawler that gets some good offense in, but Jack's cheating is the deciding factor. When the referee is in close trying to break up a scuffle in the corner, Jack uses the chance to low blow Pepper. It allows Jack to hit Pepper with the Prydefall and get the victory. Winner: Primetime Jack Pryde Rating: 14 The Historian vs Remmy Skye The Historian is in singles action this time around as he faces off against Remmy Skye. Remmy seems not to be too worse for wear after last month's beatdown and takes it right to the larger opponent. Historian eventually overpowers Skye to slow down the pace. He is slow and methodical as he does his best to keep Remmy grounded and works over his legs. He looks ready to go for a figure four, but Remmy catches him in a quick roll-up. Historian kicks out, but Remmy gets to his feet first and starts to attack. Remmy is slowed by the damage done to his legs, but he still manages to get the advantage. He sends The Historian out of the ring then nails a beautiful dive. He gets Historian back in the ring and goes up top. Skye Diver connects and Remmy picks up the win. Winner: Remmy Skye Rating: 35 The Canadian Blondes vs Minnesota Awesome The battle of who are the prettiest of boys. It is almost like a timewarp is pitting The Canadian Blondes against their past selves. The match starts out fast paced with all four men breaking out some crazy and flashy moves early on to wow the crowd. Minnesota Awesome need to improve in areas, but they work well together and combined with being in the ring with two veterans they come out looking good with most weaknesses covered unlike the earlier match with Jack and Pepper. It is a very back and forth affair and neither team gets an advantage until.... Ugh, him.... Jack Pryde soon makes his presence known ringside. He provides a great distraction which allows The Canadian Blondes to capitalize. Perry is on the outside getting distracted by Jack allowing Ozzie to jump him from behind and knock him off the apron after downing Clark in the ring. he quickly tags in Flash Savage who applies the Canadian Crab to Clark. Ozzie prevents Perry from getting into the ring and Clark is forced to tap. Winners: The Canadian Blondes Rating: 39 The Primetime Blondes look ready to lay another beatdown to end the show, but this time the trio of Remmy Skye along with the Aces of Mayhem storm the ring. Jack, Flash and Ozzie all bail and they look towards the calvary with a smug experession before retreating. Remmy, Ace and Max check on Minnesota Awesome and help them to the back to end the show. Rating: 27 Final Rating: 37
  18. Keep it simple. It was stated before and that is the mantra at least for the immediate future. We had competitive matches and the start of a few stories which were easy to follow. Enough to send the fans home happy and hopefully have them come back the following month. I let Rick work with the boys when it came to the story side of things. I can help with wrestling all day long, but my years in Japan left me never needing to worry about telling a outside of the ring. Not that Rick is a well versed entertainer himself. He like Larry, and perhaps myself, have an oldschool mindset that always focused more on in ring action. We have some good talkers though and that is what we let them do. Sell themselves with their gift of gab. Things went well before the show. The only snag was Quentin Queen arriving and not really taking time to greet anyone and kept to himself. He didn't even introduce himself to Marina which is what caused me to pull him aside and speak with him. Queen is a good hand, but his personality might be what hinders him most. I wonder if this is why TCW passed on him all those years ago or if them passing on Queen did something to his self confidence and his current attitude is a result of it. I hope this is only a one time deal and he doesn't cause any problems in the future. More so I want to keep him around for more matches with Remmy in the future. The two just had a natural chemistry when working with one another and it was a joy to watch. It easily made for the best match of the show by far. I also found out from Clark and Perry that they are not popular with IPW management right now due to signing with us. I can only gather it is due to IPW being with Confederation of the Territories. Seems petty, but the show after finding out Minnesota Awesome signed with us they lost the titles. Part of me regrets signing them if it creates problems, but IPW's folly might be our gain. Both men have a promising future and if IPW won't help them out I sure as hell will. It made me talk with The Past Masters after the show and thankfully they don't seem to have any heat over in MAW. I hope it remains that way. Young talent shouldn't be punished over wanting to work more and improve. In the end everyone is pleased with how the first show went down. The first month in general for all four companies went well. All the alliance titles are still up for grabs and we are discussing who may crown the first champions. Given our tag focus I have made a pitch to let us have first crack at the tag team belts while TJ made a similar pitch for the Junior Prestige. It seems fair NYCW or FCW would get to decide on the Prestige title. They are the bigger names and also have more established talent that would make for a good first champion. For now me and Rick are focusing on the near future and what to do next month and continue to build momentum.
  19. And here I was about to tell people to insult until you posted something!
  20. TCP presents: New Dawn Staff: Road Agents: Rick Sanders, Buddy Garner Referees: Clarence Garcia Announcers: None Attendance: 105 The Hot Taggs vs Iron Hyodo and Wataru Kikumoto The first match of the evening bits two teams that are relatively unknown. The Hot Taggs are a young, powerhouse team that hail from Montana while Hyodo and Kikumoto are youn Japanese talent personally selected by Buddy Garner. All four men are on the green side, but Hyodo and Kikumoto show a bit more polish and lead the match. That match is very much power against technique as Hyodo and Kikumoto often show some good innovation in countering some of the Tagg's moves. In the end it is experience at being a team that wins out. Hyodo and Kikumoto show promise, but it is their first match together. The brothers end up getting the better of the Japanese talent and pin Hyodo after a Montana Slammer. Winners: The Hot Taggs Rating: 23 Christopher Ball vs Hammer Hadley Former MMA fighter Christopher Ball takes on a monsterous man known as Hammer Hadley. Instantly a hard hitting fight where both men pummel one another with strikes. Hadley oven overpowers Ball and to try and make up for size differential Ball attempts to use a few holds to try and slow down Hadley and hurt his limbs. A tactic that works for a bit until Hadley runs Ball into a corner and starts to just rain down strikes and deliver knees. He pulls Ball out from the corner to toss him into the ropes. In turn Hadley bounces off the other side and delivers a sickening lariat that looks like it could have decapitated Christopher Ball. The big man picks up the pin quickly after that. Winner: Hammer Hadley Rating: 31 Ball is helped out as Hadley poses for the booing crowd. He is soon on his way to the back when another big invidual emerges with a pretty, young woman at his side. He and Hadley bump shoulders and the pair stare down one another for a moment before both move on. The young woman gets herself a microphone before getting into the ring with the large man she came out with. DeAnna Desire: "Minneapolis! I want to introduce to you the one and only......PAPA SWOLL!" Swoll smirks somewhat as he takes the microphone and he turns his attention to the back. Papa Swoll: "I see there are some guys here wanting to the be the top dog in this place. I just passed one and I can see that fire in his eyes, but the problem is that sucka is in the wrong place at t he wrong time because I'm here now. Anywhere else he might have had a chance, but nah. That isn't happening around here. This place is going to Papa Swoll territory and anyone that wants to say otherwise can step up. DeAnna, baby, I think tonight I am going to let all the boys back there see just what happens if they step up to Swoll." With that being said, Swoll hands the mic back to DeAnna who exits the ring. Rating: 19 Papa Swoll with DeAnna Desire vs Dominic DeGraff Another match featuring hard hitting action with little in the way of finesse. Both men spend the early part of the match battering one another with DeGraff not backing down from swole at all. He does well at the start, but Swoll begins to overpower him and get leverage. Some big moves from swoll wear down DeGraff and firmly put the bigger man at the advantage. After a big side suplex DeGraff is slow to get up and on the dazed side. It gives Swoll the perfect chance to bounce off the ropes to gain momentum and nail DeGraff with The Pounce. One three count later and Swoll is declared the victor. Winner: Papa Swoll Rating: 23 The Past Masters vs Minnesota Awesome More tag action as MAW products The Past masters take on two of Minnesota's own. Much like the earlier tag match it is a clash of styles with The Past Masters using a slow, methodical approach with their power advantage while Minnesota Awesome try to keep their opponents on their toes with their speed and high flying attacks. It is a back and forth match at first, but then it starts to look like a repeat of the earlier tag match where the power of The Past Masters is too much. Sandman Winks has Clark Smallbone in his sleeper for what looks like a win, but Clark manages to wiggle free and escape. He quickly tags in Perry Longstaff who starts throwing dropkicks and dropping both Past Masters. Clark recovers and the pair clear The Historian out of the ring before both go up top and the pair drop elbows on Sandman Winks at the same time. Clark quickly rolls out of the ring to make sure The Historian doesn't interfere and Perry picks up the pin. Winners: Minnesota Awesome Rating: 25 Perhaps the first somewhat familiar face of the night is a gradute of TCW's School of Wrestling. Quentin Queen has wrestled through the Midwest quite a bit at least, though the woman at his side is a new addition. He gets into the ring while his valet fetches him a microphone and hands it to him from outside the ring. Quentin Queen: "The lovely Marina Del Ray, everyone. The type of beauty you disgusting creatures in the seats only wish you could get. I have come here to save this dreadful show full of simpletons and slavering beasts and deliver you real wrestling. Now that I have seen some of the competition I wonder if I made the right the decision, but I am man of culture that must realize this a fate I must deal with. Do not fret my simple minded audience for I will win tonight and show you what real wrestling is." Man, what a jerkface. Rating: 35 Quentin Queen with Marina Del Ray vs Remmy Skye Queen does not look pleased to find out his opponent for the night is the high energy, former independent wrestler of the year known as Remmy Skye. In fact he instantly jumps Skye as he enters the ring and takes control. Queen dominates the match for awhile by keeping Remmy grounded with various holds meant to wear the colorful wrestler down. It only takes one miscue for things to change. Remmy eventually wiggles and frees himself from an arm bar then ducks a clothesline. He starts to fire up and deliver quick strikes that thrown Queen off balance. Thinking he pulls a smart one, Queen quickly rolls to the outside, but Marina tries to warn him to move. It is too late as Remmy throws caution to the wind as he dives out and lands on Queen. He quickly tosses Queen back in the ring and continues to take control. An eyepoke slows Remmy down for a bit, but it isn't enough. Queen tries to deliver his pattened Q-Ball, but Remmy reverses and downs Queen. Remmy goes up top while Marina screams for Queen to get up. It's too little too late as Remmy lands the Skye Diver and picks up the win. Winner: Remmy Skye Rating: 49 ???: "Stop the celebration, right now!" Remmy was enjoying his win while Queen is being helped away by Marina to go lick his wounds. A youth emerges from the back with mic in hand and seems to be the one that demanded Remmy cease his celebration. ???: "This is it? This is the best Buddy could do? Bring in a junkie that hasn't been able to find a regular job for years because he is unreliable?" Remmy does not seem happy and the youth has his attention fully at this point. The young man is slowly approaching the ring as he talks and Remmy stands almost begging him to get in the ring. ???: "I have a better idea. How about you get out of that ring, get out of this building then get a bus back to where you came. We don't need the likes of you here, Remmy. This place is about the future of wrestling where you are just a relic of the past. Not only are you all drugged up you are washed up too, but I see you aren't going to leave on your own. That's fine. There are other ways to get rid of you." Remmy is jumped from behind by two other men who knock him down and start take the boots to him. The youth soon enters the ring to join in. Remmy is left in a beaten, unconcious heap before the trio toss him out of the ring. The youth stands in the middle of the ring after getting his mic back and the other two stand at his side. ???: "I'm Jack Pryde, this is Flash Savage and Ozzie Golden. We are the Primetime Blondes and we run this place!" Boos rain down on the trio as they pose to end the show. Rating: 34 Final Rating: 41
  21. Keep it simple. Given the situation that was the best approach that was decided on. This is pretty new territory for myself and Rick so there was no reason to go out there and go crazy. I have never ran a company before and Rick has done little in the way of booking previously so we decided to go the slow and steady approach. The roster we put together was a good mix of young, hungry talent with some veterans that will help them develop. What we can offer is a variety of heavy hitters, fast paced lightweights, and good talkers. The focus is good, competitive matches as well as one to two simple stories the fans that come to see us can easily follow. The good versus bad approach to stories can be dated, but for a smaller company I feel it can be tried and true. I also spent time watching matches of newer talent from Japan. There is an idea to maybe reach out to the likes of Saisho maybe to form some sort of working agreement, but for now my focus was finding raw talent to bring over and give them a chance to get some work. I found two prospects to bring in for now with the idea of bringing more later on depending on how the company pans out. The demand for wrestling isn't so big right now and the economy isn't faring well. I thankfully saved my money from MMA and PGHW days and invested wisely in my time away. The company is a small investment right now and I am willing to invest more if I feel it is worth it. I am also not against closing the doors if it is a lost cause financially. If TCP fails I at least have my training school to fall back on as well as other endeavors outside of wrestling. The contracts have been signed, the venue rented and production equipment purchased. Soon it would be time to start out the year of 2020 with a bang. Officially TCP will be the first show presented under the North American Wrestling Alliance Banner with FCW and NYCW running theirs a few days later. It looks like ECW will wrap things up for the month. It was time to find out of TCP will sink or swim.
  22. The final piece of the puzzle when it came to the North American Wrestling Alliance fell into place near the start of 2020. Larry Vessey had contacted Buddy Garner who was a well known MMA fighter and a star for PGHW for years. Buddy Garner had opened a wrestling academy earlier in the year as a way to give back to the business, but Larry apparently thought Buddy could do even more. The result is Buddy starting a company to be the fourth and final member of the North American Wrestling Alliance. Given he had no real interest or the knack for booking it was Larry who recommended an old NYCW stalwart in Rick Sanders. Together the pair talked and eventually the decision was made. Twin City Promotions was born and with it became a company that looked to mix the traditional wrestling fans might see from the US combined with the hard hitting style from Japan that Buddy is more familiar with. On top of that the company looks like they will try to provide a mix of multi man matches along with traditional singles bouts. On top of trying to find a mix of veteran and young talent from the US, Buddy is also looking to bring talent over from Japan as well to help the product stand out. If the fans are ready for this East Meets West style remains to be seen, but it should at least be quite the alternative.
