This one was a little shorter than most fans would have liked. Frogue 'accidentally' stuck an elbow on referee Tony Thorpe that knocked him over. Swoop checked on the fallen referee, and Frogue seemed remorseful. But as Swoop walked towards him, Frogue took the fan favourite down with a tackle, landing in full-mount, and able to strangle Swoop with both hands! The 'Alpha Dog' began to fade, just like he did last week. The illegal choke would have been grounds for a disqualification, but Thorpe was still shaking off the elbow to his eye socket! As he finally came around, and turned around, Frogue released his grip, and slid into the cover. Swoop not only didn't kick out at three, you could have counted to 1,000. The former RAW TV Champion kept Will at bay though, using his vast experience advantage to stay on top of his young opponent. Around half-way through the match though, Maurice Jackson headed to ringside! Fresh off the back of their altercation/argument backstage, 'The King' was there to make sure Loxley won! He wanted to prove his point, that 'The Real Beaut' would be pissed if he beat Beaumont and Beaumont was in next week's Tournament anyway! However, Jackson's plan backfired, and he ended up costing Loxley the match! He argued with 'The Real Beaut' and it allowed Beaumont to hit his 'Rocker Dropper'! 66 Winner: 'Sensational' Will Beaumont Finish: 'Rocker Dropper' (Arm-Hook Fame-Asser) </div> <div style="padding: 15px; border: 3px solid #22519c; margin:10px;background: #cccccc; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 3px 12px ";"> Enemies To The North... Heath's partner Horton took care of Quizzical Mark Question seconds later too. Then LiberTeen started to pick up the pace, and work together as a four. They got rid of Stoppard and Kerr of the Ridgy-Didge Ravers, and followed it up with the elimination of Matty Wills! Rick Stantz and Rod Sullivan were the next to go, falling victim of double-dropkicks from Banks and White, who then also took out Horton! The Brat Pack eliminated three members of LiberTeen next, CJ, George and then Tye all went up and over the top rope. Kal Wayne was tipped up and over by the Brat Pack too, but with their backs turned to Alexander Banks and Dastardly Damian White, Artemis and Thurston were soon following him to the back! Kian Wayne had been quiet up to this point, but he got rid of Cole Taylor, while Heath took out Frankie LiberTeen. The tag team known as W.O.E looked to be the favourites, left out there with Heath and Kian. But the two energetic men decided to work together, and they took Banks and White out. Happy with their work, they shouted over the top rope at W.O.E, and Kian tried to eliminate Heath! He was close, but Heath held on and fought back in. Kian shrugged, and smiled, telling Heath he was close. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, they, along with their scheduled opponents, were delayed and could not make the show on time... Since then, they haven't been heard from... Until last week... The 11 year history of the TV Title has seen many greats hold the Gold on multiple occasions. Captain Wrestling II himself is a 3 time former Champion! Blake Belushi is on a heck of a run right now, going into this match with a perfect 16 and 0 record so far in 2020. However, his attitude was different tonight. He seemed more interested in the people around ringside than he did with fighting Captain Wrestling II. Blake gave Captain's protege Will Beaumont a tough time verbally for the majority of the contest, but the 'Beautiful' Champion also showed how much he appreciates Rebecca Richey on the announce desk; giving his girlfriend a long snog, that angered and frustrated her broadcast partner Doug Vallence. 'The Warrior' Captain Wrestling II was also angered and frustrated by Belushi's juvenile actions, and he took it out on the pretentious Champion as soon as he could get him in his strong clutches! Captain squeezed and crushed his opponent, and he closed in on a victory. However, Blake was once again able to slide to the outside of the ring, and without hesitation, he swung for, and connected, with the jaw of Will Beaumont! 'The Sensational' youngster was knocked over, and then showed his hot-headedness by reacting straight away, and giving chase to Belushi!! Beaumont's reaction brought Captain Wrestling II outside the ring, and he pulled his protege back by his robe!! Beaumont tried to wriggle free and get to Belushi, but Captain calmed him down. Once Captain was ready to get back into the ring, he was caught by the 'Axe Kick'!! However, after a 2 count, the veteran somehow got his foot on the bottom rope!! It was 83 weeks. I feel like you're a WCW fan? And I also feel like correcting a mathematical and historical mistake is a great way to win you over. Then. I googled it. And it was 84 weeks!! Shows how much I know. Isn't Eric Bischoff's podcast called 83 weeks?! Now I'm confused. I have to say, I agree with your comments about the game within a game with the currency etc. It is almost ALL Togg. I might have had some small input, but if I was putting a percentage on it, I'd say it's 98% Togg. He's a legend! I love this kind of stuff! And I'm honoured and excited to be part of it. I'll just add a massive thank you for the DOTM nomination! Means a lot to get a nom when we've only just kicked off! Oh I see how it is... Positioning yourself as the underdog! That's so nice of both of you to say. It means a lot. I only write for fun, having no background in writing, or creativity, or anything like that. I just like playing the game, and telling you all how I go about things Graphics, presentation, those are all fun too. And I always say once it stops being fun, I'll stop. Whether that's a single diary, or writing/playing the game in general. It's fair to say this diary was only ever supposed to be a bit of Lockdown Fun. Something to get me through being off work for four months, and it helped me in so many ways. But I'd been planning to come in to join Togg for a while, and that project is so exciting to me. He's already five months in, and so a lot has happened to WWF since then, including losing a few talents, and a LOT of heel/face and face/heel turns. I'll try to catch you all up as best I can. May was a quiet month in general, but a lot of faces came in the door to bolster the roster after the Global Expansion of the World Wrestling Federation. One newcomer who caught everyone by surprise was the former member of the Rockers alongside Shawn Michaels: Marty Jannetty... He actually came in and beat Jerry Lynn for the Cruiserweight Title on his first night with the company at Judgement Day. PPV EVENT and HIGHLIGHTS: WWF Judgement Day: Main Event of Steve Austin over The Undertaker for the WWF Championship (99)... and Edge and Christian over the Dudleys also pulled a 91... COMING IN: Tommy Dreamer, Marty Jannetty, Jim Cornette, Greg Valentine, Nelson Knight (Aka Viscera), Leatherface, Glen Ruth (Aka Thrasher), Samu, Don Harris (Aka Skull), Mr. Perfect and Jake 'The Snake' Roberts! LEAVING: None The WWF held their annual King of the Ring Tournament in June, and despite winning it in 2000, Kurt Angle was once again victorious to become only the second man to win it twice. (second to Bret Hart, who was also a two-time winner, and won his two back to back)... There were a bunch of great matches on the KOTR pay-per-view... PPV EVENT and HIGHLIGHTS: WWF King of the Ring 2001... Austin defeated Chris Benoit to retain his WWF Title again (99)... They decided to abolish the Women's Division here, and focus their attention on the Men's side of things... They felt that having a division dedicated to one type of performer, that couldn't interact or wrestle with the roster, made it feel too 'stand alone', and an unintegrated part of the show... They felt that they could only realistically give one match, and one other segment to the division, and to do it justice, it needs a lot more. WWF Women's Champion Chyna dropped her Belt to Lita, before departing for WCW to wrestle under the name: Chyner... Lita then dropped the Title in the trash, as she and the Hardy Boyz turned heel!! (*Author's Note: Obviously, I decided to drop the Women's Division, not the game. I felt like I couldn't do it justice in that era. All contracted women will remain employed as 'managers' etc.*) PPV EVENT and HIGHLIGHTS: WWF Vengeance (2001)... Austin again retaining, over the Undertaker (99)... Big Show defeated Chris Benoit (98)... Fresh off the back of his King of the Ring victory, Kurt Angle did not appear on the show... COMING IN: None LEAVING: Paul Heyman August was a fairly uneventful month... Edge and Christian turned babyface, and continued their feud with the Hardy Boyz, who are now dastardly heels... The Godfather and Val Venis also turned face, with Godfather joining up with the APA (Acolytes Protection Agency) in order to take on extra work for extra cash... Jerry Lynn became very bitter about Marty Jannetty's success, and has turned heel... As have Test, Steve Blackman, Funaki K-Kwik and Billy Gunn... K-wik and Gunn have recently formed an alliance with X-Pac known as 'New Generation X', or NGX for short... Albert and Perry Saturn are Terri Runnels' latest 'toys' as a badass, bald, tattooed up, tag team... Hardcore Holly also beat Rhyno for the Hardcore Championship... PPV EVENT and HIGHLIGHTS: WWF SummerSlam (2001)... What a time for Steve Austin to beat Chris Benoit (100) and score a 100 rated match... It boosted the overall show rating to a massive 93... Still no Kurt Angle at the show!! COMING IN: Razor Ramon LEAVING: TAKA Michinoku, Justin Credible, Raven and Rhyno Triple H and Steve Austin continued to dominate the landscape on Monday Night RAW and beyond... The 'Two Man Power Trip' held all the Gold up until September, with Austin as WWF Champion, Triple H as Intercontinental Champion and the pair of them as WWF Tag Team Champions... Backed heavily by WWF Chairman Vince McMahon, the duo looked unstoppable. That was until Austin got greedy and said he wanted the IC Title too. It lead to him costing Triple H the Belt against an old rival in Test, and the 'Two Man Power Trip' were done!! They even vacated the WWF Tag Team Titles... Austin had a new rival soon though, as the recently returned 'People's Champion' The Rock came knocking for a Title shot... at Unforgiven... PPV EVENT and HIGHLIGHTS: WWF Unforgiven (2001)... Steve Austin again in the Main Event, this time retaining against The Rock (99)... Test over Triple H (88)... The Brothers of Destruction defeated The Perfect Combination (Mr. Perfect and Razor Ramon) (89)... COMING IN: None LEAVING: Thrasher, Skull and Leatherface We're still in October as we speak, and we're one week away from the No Mercy pay-per-view... It'll be headlined by Stone Cold Steve Austin defending his WWF Title against his two biggest rivals: The Rock and Triple H... Rocky is back for good, and he wants to get back to the top of the company again, while Triple H wants revenge for Austin costing him his Intercontinental Championship. Well, I accepted Togg's offer to go and co-write as WWF in his WCW diary a while back. Did a lot of writing for both that diary and this one. Right around the time the new game came out. I've since spent a couple of months super busy due to work, and haven't written for either diary. I have 13 shows written in full for the WWF vs WCW war, and only the next 2 shows fully written for this one... I can't say this diary is done. The only reason this one has less shows left is because I've been posting in this one fairly regularly during my busy couple of months, but not writing much. This diary may be done, it may continue. I can't say for sure yet. In the next couple of weeks, things should settle down at home and I can get back to writing more.
