I've realised that booking small companies (such as APW) wasn't really my thing, and I was never really able to connect with the rosters of the bigger names.

This time around though, it's different. The CWA is simply and purely amazing! While the roster is extremely large, it is full of great characters, men and women with a lot of potential or a great history in professional wrestling. I can't wait to let all of them loose, throw them into twisting and turning storylines, book them in epic matches that the Canadian wrestling scene will talk about for decades, and in the process make this company a force to be reckoned with.

Most things are already laid out. The game obviously already gives me starting storylines that I will roll with for the time being. I'm already thinking about how to book the first couple of shows, which characters I'd like to push, etcetera, and I've decided to use a loose face/heel split. However, it will still take a while before this diary really starts. The simple reason is that I want to wait for the next few patches to fix some potential issues with long-term saves that I'd hate to have in this game because my current plan is to stick with it for as long as possible. Since I'm so excited about this project though, I couldn't wait any longer to at least put out the starting posts.

There are a few things that will happen before the first show. This includes the first POWER 10 and, more importantly, the onset of the "Pick Your Worker" contest. Please have a look at the contest post to learn about what it is in the first place and how to participate if you'd like to be a part of it. Until the draft starts, I'd really love to get as much feedback about it as possible. Do you like the idea? Does it sound fun to you or couldn't you care less? Do you think that the current rule set is balanced or will it heavily favour specific wrestlers and make the whole affair really bland and uninteresting at some point? This is an experiment, I don't have any experience doing it in this context, and I'm open to any suggestions or criticism.

With that out of the way, I hope you'll stay with me until this project really kicks off - and beyond!

 11. I'm a fan of The Infernal Council already. And holy shit, these main events between Ernest and Logan are amazing. Makes it really, REALLY hard to bet against Ernest winning the King of the Mountain tournament, that's for sure. On the other hand, Ernest doesn't necessarily need this win to be relevant in the main event scene... Tough call. I'm going with the upset and bet on Riley McManus to win it all. He's good enough to pull some very decent ratings. 13. To me, CWA screams for having a loose face/heel divide, basically what AEW are doing right now. You have characters that are clearly heel-ish, but still are allowed to get some cheap pops or do stuff that makes the fans cheer them, and you have people who are downright tweeners (e.g. the Lucha Bros). I don't know how significant the penalty for booking face vs. face and heel vs. heel with a loose divide is, but it should allow you to be way more creative with your bookings.
 14. As a real-life watcher, I would've probably been a tad disappointed by this event because it had some pretty short matches for a PPV, and a very, very controversial ending. You could almost say that the main event's match grade shows this, as the performances were top notch, but the ending was basically what everybody expected, but nobody wanted to see. By the way, I like how you described the ending segment to be a bit awkward to the fans. That said, as a reader, I don't care about short matches and I like the direction you're moving in. Especially after reading Jerry's thoughts, I totally understand why it makes sense to get the title off Rocky. Now he's free to get fully invested in that storyline with Scythe, and I'm excited to see where you're taking it. Also, it's good to see that Undeniable got the win here. Losing would've buried the faction already.
 15. Great show, Devilb0y! Quite some shocking results in there, including Hocking's title win and the main event. I mis-predicted both of them, but the way you booked them and after reading the interview (which, by the way, was really enjoyable and made me a lot more familiar with the character), both decisions made total sense. Aaron Andrews vs Freddy Huggins Whether regularly or by disqualification, Andrews is going to win this. Mighty Meaty vs Wolf Hawkins & Joshua Taylor Wolf really needs this win, and Taylor could use it too. You might use this match as a starting point for Mo's eventual main event push, but I'd say Wolf is still too important to make him this starting point. T-Bone Bright vs Greg Gauge Gauge needs to win this after losing the title. Television Title Roderick Remus vs Matt Hocking ( C ) Goes without saying. Jay Chord vs Dazzling Dave Diamond It looks like DDD is the one you're using to get the L's in favour of those who need wins. I guess it won't be any other way here.
 16. Voeltz, you really need to start booking your strongest match as the main event! Your show ratings could be so much better! That said, enjoyable show as always. Stubbs definitely was a bit overused, but I'm already curious how things will be going for Oliverio, and McGhee vs. Edwards next month should be awesome.

 19. That's a really good idea! It should probably be tied to the general overness levels in the promotion they're being used in, though.
 20. A menacing worker with good brawling skills and good psychology can still get over, I'd guess. My point is this: First of all, WWE's greatest stars in the past decades rarely relied on menace to get over. John Cena? Muscular, but not menacing. The Rock? Same. Steve Austin? Same. Ric Flair? Hulk Hogan? Nobody of those was specifically menacing. André the Giant was a special attraction and got over by being huge as hell. The game probably doesn't properly reflect these corner cases, but that's a different topic. The Undertaker, for example, got over because he had an amazing gimmick, tons of charisma and is an amazing actor. Being menacing was a plus, but not the main reason for him being a legend. WWE try to push menacing workers all the time, give them a main event push and then drop them because they don't connect with the fans long-term and, most of the time, don't have anything else beyond their menace that makes them worthy of being main eventers (or because, you know, random booking decisions that happen all the time over there). TEW 2020 reflects the reality way better because it removes Menace as a wildcard to the main event. It still helps because it allows them to gain popularity faster if they're REALLY menacing (since 25 % is still more than 0 %), but it, once again, takes into account that you need more than menace to be a good wrestler.
 21. I totally disagree. If you, for example, look at the past few decades in WWE, a lot of menacing workers went over not primarily because of their menacing looks, but because WWE force-pushed them like crazy by letting them win/squash a lot of matches. Most of them disappeared into oblivion after their initial push because - and here comes my point - their menace wasn't nearly enough to keep them interesting after the initial impact faded. The system right now should still mean that menacing workers can be pushed relatively fast by putting them in the right angles and letting them win. However, these workers now also need some other skills to stay at the top, and I think that's a very good thing.
 22. Rookie C-Verse/Fictional Invincible Pro Wrestling: The Birth of the West Coast Wars by praguepride This is an incredibly entertaining diary. The broadcasting trio is the best that I've ever read in this forum, and he's got a really entertaining way of writing. Enjoying this a lot. Veteran C-Verse/Fictional SWF: The Evolution of Supreme by Eisen-verse He deserves to be nominated every month. I doubt that anybody will ever match the quality of his presentation, and he's a damn good writer as well. Showcase [Presentation] SWF: The Evolution of Supreme by Eisen-verse No explanation needed. [stable] Undeniable in SWF: The Evolution of Supreme by Eisen-verse This new stable has been dominating the midcard so far and has been very exciting to read about. Can't wait to see where E-V is going to take them. Match Aaron Andrews vs. Joshua Taylor @ Malice In Wonderland in TCW: Gathering Storm by Devilb0y Even though the winner was pretty clear from the beginning, this was a very well-written match with great storytelling. Event When Hell Freezes Over in SWF: The Evolution of Supreme by Eisen-verse Once again, if it's about overall presentation and quality, it's hard to beat E-V. When Hell Freezes Over delivered in every aspect, and I feel like this guy can't get enough praise for his work.
 23. Great show, prague! This diary is so f*cking entertaining, and I don't even like pure hardcore wrestling. Moses' reaction to Azathoth destroying the ringside area was... fantastic. I love that character. Probably the best thing I've ever seen in this forum, and he's only a freaking announcer.
