I said if I can bring myself to suspend disbelief I will run with the EC, otherwise it will be a regular six-way elimination match.

 2.
http://i66.tinypic.com/207w747.jpg

----------

This is my Survivor Series card for 1997, playing the Montreal Prelude mod.

I'm going to go with the Screwjob storyline but play a bit of a twist. As in real life, Davey will warn Bret about fast counts and being put in submission holds but in this timeline Bret will actually listen! Especially as Shawn was very curiously the one to demand a submission match. However, at around the 25 minute mark, Bret will clearly dead-weight a Sharpshooter attempt on him and shoot on his opponent, forcing a very real tap out and he escapes with the belt through the partisan Montreal crowd...

I've always been one to bemoan the lack of true Survivor Series matches at the PPV but aside from D-X and NoD (both heels), I've not got any other 4+ man teams. DoA only have three members due to me firing Crush, Los Boricuas even more bare at two. There'd be too many patchwork teams to put on a true spectacle in my eyes. So I'm going forward with all championships being defended and a six-way elimination match to determine the #1 contender for the World Championship (the ensuing main event will change that a bit but when the match happens no-one knows that!). If I can convince myself that the Elimination Chamber concept is realistic in 1997 then the match will be inside the cage. I plan to have The Undertaker leave the match in some fashion to avoid having to face off against Kane; the likely winner Ken Shamrock (although a part of me wants to give Vader the win as they will be facing HBK).

There's no way I can get the European title off Shawn's waist without upsetting him so I'm having him relinquish it to get his World title match. Mankind and Triple H will be the two finalists, with the heel being victorious through D-X shenanigans (eventually leading to the return of Cactus Jack). New Age Outlaws will also beat Legion of Doom for the Tag titles to give the next PPV (In Your House: D-X) some name credibility.

With Bret (eventually!) sticking around in the WWF, Austin's rise to the top may have to take a slightly different route (ie. no Tyson, beating Bret at WM14 instead of Shawn) but he is pencilled in for a Royal Rumble win still. I suppose he has to go over Owen to keep his momentum going but I don't want him holding a secondary title either considering he's going to be World champion in four months. The aftermath of Bret shooting will turn Owen into a bona fide face too so there's some money feuds with D-X in the pipeline. Maybe a long run with the IC title will keep eventually elevate back into the main event.

Elsewhere I'm bringing in Liger on a PPA deal to give the Junior division a bit of a kick start. TAKA has got a great future and I plan to build the division around him but Liger as inaugural champion makes sense. Flash Funk vs Marc Mero is more Sunny vs Sable but at least they can have a good match rather than just a bikini contest. Pre-show is pre-show, that's a bit of an old feud at this point; I like the premise of DoA but they aren't good performers and they're on the way out probably, NoD I have future plans for though. There's probably room for one more match but of those not currently on the card, nothing makes too much sense (poor Goldust) so I might just stretch out what I've got a bit more.

But it worked out anyways, as WWF pulled out of negotiations.

Were you still at Cult when negotiating?

 4. I don't have the game at hand but in TV Show controls where you select show length etc. it's in there. For events go to the Schedule screen and Modify Event, brand option is in that.
 5.

Also, can you set a filter for your entire show to only show one brand split workers as defualt? I know you can filter each segment, but Im sure you used to be able to do it all in a oner

If you correctly assign the TV shows and events to a particular brand then they won't appear by default on the other brand's shows. You have to tell the game which brand is which on TV, it doesn't just assume.

So you have to mix it up with a few slow burners. I think if you exceed 25 segments though, the crowd get bored waiting and you have to abort otherwise it won't go down well.

 7.
I don't see Ibushi turning down WWE to win the IWGP title. He'd need to commit to NJPW full-time to even have a chance and considering he went freelance partly because they refused to pull the trigger on him last time, I don't see how that changes.

Shame about Sabre.

 8.
The segment itself got an A*, so you would need A* announcing to not get the note. It's relative to the segment.

I wouldn't worry, the penalty will be a tiny fraction of a point as you'd expect announcing in the B+/A range from those guys.

 9. I think in addition to a Gotch/Cara negative relationship, you should give Gotch a negative personality. Apparently he has heat with quite a lot of people backstage due to his mouth.
 10.

Not necessarily....in a battle royal you want several people to get a rub in different ways. If you give the glory all to one person then you fail at what a Battle Royal is meant to do. They have a smaller roster on Smackdown and still need to have most of them look dangerous. Think about how you book in TEW do you always give the most eliminations to the winner or do you give it to somebody you want to be a threat later on? If it was me booking that Battle Royal I probably would have subbed Erik Rowan in Kane's spot but that is just nitpicking.

Yeah I get that, but why Kane? Do they think it would add to Crews' credibility by have him eliminate Kane? I for one am not any more invested in Apollo Crews after last night.

I always thought that Ziggler deserved another run with the title. He is a great worker in the ring and has charisma and it seems the fans are behind him. Plus he can play the face or heel role really well. I am looking forward to the match between him and Ambrose at Summerslam, I just wonder if one of them is going to turn heel or AJ somehow gets involved.

I'm not against Ziggler being the man to have the match, per se. But they haven't built him in any way, shape or form so in my opinion it just devalues the match, the title and the opponents in the Six-Way. Unless there's a massive swerve or turn in the works then it'll end up being a throwaway match in the Summerslam midcard which makes absolutely no sense considering they made such a big thing about Ambrose being their #1 and bringing the title to SmackDown.

I don't mean to come across as a moaner. I love the direction RAW is headed and with the likes of Ambrose, Wyatt, Styles, Orton and Cena, SmackDown has great potential too. Just not a great kickoff for the Blue on the back of a pretty flawless RAW. I've not enjoyed WWE this much in a couple of years.

 11.
Well they screwed up Apollo Crews again. If they want to get him over then have him eliminate everyone. But to have Kane (!) throw everyone out and then basically run himself over the top was silly booking.

Also Ziggler gets a World title shot basically because there's no one else? And to have Styles eat a pin when he didn't even take the finisher? Odd.

I was way more hyped for SmackDown after the draft but I'm a RAW convert already on the basis of this week. Shane and DB are just awkward and annoying.

This may be more of a general booking question but I think it relates or complicates the game to some extent. Say you have a performance over popularity fed but you still want to run angles, storylines, feuds etc. So the emphasis may be on the matches, but there are still outside the ring shenanigans and blood feuds. Now, if you want to blow off a feud with a brawl based gimmick match (think first blood, Texas death, falls count anywhere etc.) does the blow off match rate poorly because the hardcore setting for your product are very low or non-existent?

I ask because in 2013 I remember having a problem with this where, even if I had two strong brawlers in a gimmicks match it didn't seem to rate well. I'm trying to channel realism to an extent here because in old school style rasslin feds and even in very heavy performance oriented feds like ROH there have been really good brawling gimmick matches to end storylines and feuds. Anyone else have a problem with this? Does hardcore need to be set a little higher to simulate this properly?

If it's brawl-based and the workers are good brawlers then you shouldn't have an issue. The Hardcore product setting only affects hardcore-based matches, not brawls.

 13.
That's quite high.

He's only been on one show and you can argue that it was the long-awaited debut that generated some of the pops. I'd low ball him around 60 and assess once he's established.

 14.
Personality would have a great bearing on whether they're willing to job.

Even in his 50s, Hogan was unwilling to Pass the Torch...

 15. Well if you have someone who has 100 for whatever is being rated but has 0 popularity, then in a pop=perf product you would expect a segment rating of 50 (not accounting for extra bonuses/penalties). Likewise for pop>perf the same person would score <50, and >50 for perf>pop.
 16. Well I was going to give props for continuing history and keeping that feud alive for the Rumble. But actually putting the belt on Holly, wow, that must be a first!
 17. Someone mentioned this before and put a screenshot up I'm sure. John Cena kept jobbing to Joe. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

 21. That's Excel for you. The file is too big and it just can't cope with all the automatic updating. I've even tried re-coding your sheet but to no avail.
