  1. Echoing what someone above said, I push people how I want to push them. If the fans like someone I dislike, or dislike someone I like, we're going to have some problems because I won't cave.

I pair people on things like "looks" as long as they don't have bad chemistry. I put people in stables "just because they're from the same root company before I hired them" or "because they have a near-enough look".

As a Great Lakes power, my first expansions aren't to boring Mexico and Canada. Boring. I go straight to UK and Japan where the fun is.

When doing real life or history mods, I do my best to remain as canon, in context, as much as possible. Sometimes, I will do what I would've done. As Gagne in 1984, put that belt on Hogan, let him keep his Japan money - and if he goes to WWE, blast him for "betraying the title and the fans". He won't be able to be a face in WWE, but "Hulkamania" can run wild in AWA - and Heenen, Bockwinkel, and others are already his foils. He just needs a good Iron Sheik or something.

Or, as WCW, I push Faces of Fear, Public Enemy, and Harlem Heat as the top 3 teams.

I have WCW launch an NWO Brand Split as Thunder, with champs on both rosters. The Draft sees JJ Dillon draft Hall and Nash to spite Hogan, who in return, drafts Sting and Luger. Krispen Wah, Chris Jericho, Eddie - top of the card. Kanyon and Wrath feud with Faces of Fear. Goldberg has short feuds with Wrath, Bam Bam, Steiner, one at a time - not all at once with weird "just too much" overbooked matches.

I like to stick to context but make wiser decisions.

Instead of David Arquette, we bring in Kevin Randleman and send him into the PRIDE Grand Prix as WCW World Champion. He goes on a tear, loses to Fedor, and Fedor is proclaimed WCW World Champion and has 30 days to defend it - he's stripped of the gold, and this sets up a tournament. Hulk Hogan doesn't put over jobbers, but he also doesn't get the belt again. Instead, on Thunder, Hogan comes out and saves Sting and Luger from NWO, and the 3 finally join forces and save the day. NWO splits up, Brand Split remains.

I have Post-Kick Bret Hart work one more match against Goldberg - this time, he locks in the Sharpshooter, Goldberg has no place to go. Goldberg doesn't tap. Bret Cranks out - strains himself and his concussion, and collapses. The ref calls the match, Bret is stretchered out, and CTE is addressed in-canon, Goldberg is fined, cuts his "I did my job!" promo.

Other things I do, are make sure wrestlers have the negative traits they need to either be a pain backstage, or bad at certain main event match types, or something else. I make sure their stats line up in a way that they're not "too good".

  2. I would like to see "Casual Fanbase" as a theme for companies. The base of casual fans shields it from the industry at the expense of being more impacted by the economy. Even when the industry is bad, if they have a dollar, they're buying a ticket.

"Dedicated Fanbase" The base of dedicated fans shields the company from the economy at the expense of being more impacted by the industry. Even if they're filthy rich, they will tune out if the industry is in bad shape.

And a "Neutral" or "Default" to simply be impacted as default.

I think some products that "Company not effected by Industry" should have slapped on "And is more vulnerable to the economy" (both good and bad).

And to see some companies who are effected less by negative economy but is more vulnerable to the industry (both good and bad).

  3. 2. Modern Three Rings

This one is based on POWW, David McClane's second promotion after he left GLOW with some of the roster as they didn't agree with the comedy hee-haw direction of the company.

Fans will expect events to be 70% matches, 30% angles

Fans will expect TV shows to be 70% matches, 30% angles

Matches are rated on a ratio of 40:60 or 60:40 in ring action/popularity, whichever produces higher rating

Fans are open to any match type.

Fans expect at least one Brawl

Fans expect at least one Technical

Fans expect at least one Entertainment/Comedy

Each show will need at least one match aimed as Story Telling

    Aimed at 18-35 crowd.

    Rabid fan base.

Fans expect everyone to have a gimmick.

The fans will expect there to be lots of ongoing storylines.

Fans expect major matches to have a storyline.

The company is "somewhat" attractive to sponsors.

Comedy based gimmicks can be used even by Stars and Major Stars

Having a wrestler be forced to unmask will add heat to a segment

Having someone shaved bald as a forfeit adds heat to a segment

So, this is like a 3 Rings or No-Style product, that views itself as "Entertainment". It is not "light on the body" (or hard on the body), and is not effected by the state of the wrestling industry.

This product has some inherent challenges, this isn't easy time - there's no "light on the body" bonus, and a few specific Match Based On, which means having a roster capable of this. So this isn't some "baby time" product that's going to be easy to play. Fans are not impacted by the industry which can protect from low industry, but it also means they won't get the big bonuses of a booming industry, either. I think the bonus here is better than the penalty is worse, so this product will not have those bonuses.

(I wish it were possible to make a company More or Less vulnerable to Economic impact, this company - I want it to receive no penalty from bad industry, but I would love the penalties for bad economy to hit this company just a bit harder. While it's casual appeal/base shields it from the industry-at-large, this makes it more dependent on the fickle mood of spenders). I would love the Product Attribute - "Company is more impacted by bad economy, company more impacted by good economy" and for products based more on "Wrestling Fans" to remain more dependent on The Industry than The Economy - then a "neutral" note to make it equally impacted by both, as is default).

What helps, is that fans will accept Performance or Popularity - and have no preferences about Match or Angle Length. This encourages good decision making about match style vs length, and removes the barrier of sagging a card/match when it makes no sense. After all, these fans want both Conor McGregor to perform a 30 second finish, AND they want to see GSP work a guy for 25 minutes. They want to see a Menace for 4 mins, then Rock talk for 20.

  4. Performer - Worker views Professional Wrestling as a form of entertainment, and will not sign to a company based on "Wrestling".

(This is the opposite of the "Old School" attribute.)

Wimpy - Worker's body type will remain "Regular" and strength will cap around 55.

Strong Neck/Back/Legs/Etc - Worker is less likely to injure this body part.

(Does not mean worker won't get injured, it means when injury happens, it will happen to a different part)

  5. No-Style style with 85% matches and 15% angles is the only adjustment left for my perfect product that I want.

Well, my near-perfect product is No-Style Style with 70% matches and 30% angles - for television and for events.

Edit: I would rather see two similar styles with this one difference, than one of us have to eat mud so the other can have cake.

This is why "You can't make in-game products because cheaters" is the worst idea ever. Many of us have very different ideas of what would be fun, find each other's idea of fun to be absolutely unfun. So both you and I cannot be happy. And it's not like any of our suggested products will ever be added, they would've only been added by us individually as we need/want them. Instead, we're like jobbers who must go through creative to beg for a change that Vince will never approve because Vince doesn't see the value in it.

I dislike this type of situation, because it forces both you and I into a situation where neither of us really gets what we like/want, and have no say in the final outcome. We just "get what we get and better like it". Or, "too bad."

  6. Fans will expect events to be 70% matches, 30% angles

Fans will expect TV shows to be 60% matches, 40% angles

Matches are rated on a ratio of 50:50 in ring action/popularity, whichever is higher

Matches less than 5 minutes cannot achieve a world class score unless it's really good. (Hi, we're the UFC and an occasional 1-2 minute murder spree is 90+ rating if there's a real killer in the cage)

All workers will be expected to be using a gimmick or there will be large penalty

Fans will expect a lot of ongoing storylines

Each show will need at least one match aimed as Story Telling

Major matches without a storyline receive penalty

The company will be attractive to sponsors

Attendance levels are not affected by the state of the wrestling industry

Comedy based gimmicks can be used by Stars, but not Major Stars

Having a wrestler be forced to unmask will add some heat to a segment

Having someone shaved bald as a forfeit adds heat to a segment

  7. I would like to propose the attribute:

Child Company Man: "Worker is happy to work in child companies and will never complain about living there."

In the real world, we know there are guys like Ciampa who've gone on record saying they don't want the main roster. In fact, many don't. WWE hires a lot of guys to go to NXT, for the purpose of "Working in NXT'. Is Finn Balor getting a bunch of penalties for being in developmental to his morale? Since we use "real world" as an example when it comes to "menace angles", let's also use real world thinking in that some people want to be in the child company.

And let's please use real world thinking and finish out the "Worker gets bonus to _____ Matches" for every match type. How is it realistic that Bret Hart and Kurt Angle don't get an attribute to have a bonus for Technical Masterclass but Giant Gonzalas gets one for "bonus when booked to look dominant".

  8. I am making a database. I noticed in the relationships, you can set "accepts developmental contracts", and it doesn't seem to mandate owning the company.

    1. Can a company receive contracts from multiple companies?

(For example, can Next-Gen Pro be an "Alliance Developmental" for everyone?)

    2. How do Sister Companies actually work?

Let's assume a layout like this - one company based in GL, expanding east; also Canada and UK. One company in South West going West Half; also, Mexico and Japan. Then, a third company with Mid-South, expanding east-west, Canada, and Mexico. So, if these were "Sister Companies" who are members of an Alliance and are big enough to have exclusive deals, what would "Sister Companies" do in this situation? If they each have developmental/child companies, would it be more practical to make those Sister Companies instead? What effect would that have?

    3. In the above scenario, would it be viable to create on alliance of Mother Companies and a second alliance of Child Companies?

    4. Alliances mostly seem to be useful for smaller companies reaching into other regions. Has anyone made an International Loan/Trade Alliance between a US, UK, and JA Big Company, or 3 US Big Companies? Did you deem it a waste? I think it's a good means of expanding.

I ask this range of questions because the editor did not prohibit me from setting relationships with a Child Company receiving developmental contracts from multiple source companies - nor did it check to make sure the development company is owned. Is this waiting to be fixed, or working as intended? What will happen in-game? I'd rather know whether it's viable to move forward with "Mega-Dev" or if I should just give them each their own dev territory.

    5. If said Child Company owns a Performance Center, would the child company send developmental talent assigned to it, AND its own talent there? Or would it only be able to send its own talent?

  9. <p>I would like Dick the Bruiser and Da Crusher as C-Verse Renders. I would like Bruiser with that popeye look and Crusher with his crazy stern face I don't care if he's flexing. Thanks for any time or effort with these two legends.</p><p> </p><p>

  10. <p>I would like something that is akin to Golden Age of Wrestling plus Fans Accept Hardcore/Deathmatches, and not have any issues with stunt bumps or violence, and increase Events to 20% angles instead of 10%. </p><p> </p><p>

This is to simulate companies like WWA, owned by a local hero of mine, William "Dick the Bruiser" Afflis. His territory reached as far as Wisconsin and ran shows in Indianapolis, Detroit, Chicago, and other places across the Great Lakes from 1964-1989, and Bruiser himself a "squash master" brawler with high charisma and a colorful personality.</p>

  11. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Jaysin" data-cite="Jaysin" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47002" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>What about an attribute that indicates that a worker has potential to be a booker or owner in the future?</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Awesome. I would love...</p><p> </p><p> Business Adept - will strive to become owner/booker, or form their own company; small bonus to business.</p><p> </p><p> Cold Feet - will not become owner/booker; small penalties if booker.</p>
  12. Can you link a few IRL examples of 10 minute menace angles? Keeping in mind that menace is defined as "how menacing the worker looks" by the game. The moment Undertaker grabs a mic, he's no longer being judged on menace. So these segments should be 10 minutes of a wrestler solely looking intimidating.

Then 4 minute or 2 minute Menace Angles should be able to reach 100 by this logic.

Edit: Second thought - or remove useless Sex Appeal and Menace from the game, and just use "Charisma" as the skill for it and "Entertainment" for the angles.

  13. <p>If I understand things correctly, fans will no longer require you to be a certain roster size to "take you seriously", and it's now used only to give AI a means to maintain roster height. I have a few questions.</p><p> </p><p>

    1. Why doesn't the AI make brand splits? If "big size" and various settings requires them a 70-80 wrestler roster, shouldn't they make a brand split so they don't constantly have "wasn't on show" complaints? Or does this not impact the morale of workers in AI companies? I'm just a little confused.</p><p> </p><p>

    2. Does this mean a player can run a "Big Company" with "Women's Division - Large" and have 30 men and 20 women - and not be penalized "wah too small roster"? I just want to make sure I understand it.</p>

  14. <p>No penalties for not using match aims on B-Shows?</p><p> </p><p>

    That's a big plus. I didn't know that.</p><p> </p><p>

One question I have with B-Shows is setting up "Development" purpose. When using this purpose, does it have to be "Reserve" or can it be one of the other categories with "Development"?</p><p> </p><p>

I was planning a B-Show brand split to shuffle a bunch of do-nothing seniors I keep around to feud with my upstarts. I just don't want the things that happen there to essentially be "worthless work" that doesn't really mean anything.</p><p> </p><p>

I view B-Show as the transition time between Development and Main Show but now I am questioning this strategy.</p>

  15. <p>I would like both Attibutes and Gimmick check boxes for:</p><p> </p><p>

Actor - gets small bonus for Cinematic Matches</p><p>

Technician - gets small bonus for Technical Masterclass</p><p>

Wild Brawler - small bonus to Wild Brawl type of matches</p><p>

Tantalizing - small bonus for Eye Candy matches</p><p>

Jobber King - small bonus when opponent has "look dominant" match note.</p><p>

Dusty Finisher - penalty for "Dusty Finish" and "Sports Entertainment Ending" match notes slightly reduced.</p><p>

Natural Champion - small bonus when in a match that has a Title on the line. (whether challenger or champion)</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

(not eliminated, just slightly reduced - only ONE star having said attribute effects outcome, if multiple participants have it, it only applies once)</p><p> </p><p>

Safety Advocate - less likely to injure themselves or another.</p><p>

Reckless Style - more likely to injure themselves or another.</p><p>

(I suppose either a small bonus/penalty to Safety, or a small modifier to checks where Safety is used?)</p><p> </p><p>

    -</p><p> </p><p>

[] Small bonus for Sex Appeal angles</p><p>

[] Small bonus for Microphone angles</p><p>

    [] Small bonus for Entertainment angles</p><p> </p><p>

[] Losses during Angles loses less popularity.</p><p>

[] Losses during angles loses less momentum.</p><p> </p><p>

[] Wins and Losses during Angles impacts momentum more.</p><p>

[] Wins and Losses during Angles impacts popularity more.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

    [] Small bonus against Dominant/Comedy/Etc Opponents</p><p> </p><p>

(Since there's a penalty option, how about a small bonus option? Some people are good at getting squashed by monsters, or taking a vicious beating, or making someone look funny who isn't, etc.)</p>
