1. Decided to open up a Small sized women's promotion in the States. I'm trying to model it a bit after SHIMMER and try to go a few months without putting a belt on the line. Currently running two shows a month, but I'm hopeful to try and possibly hit four a month if I can whenever I get to a Regional level. I'm trying to use unemployed talent at the moment and maybe down the line branching out to QAW/AAA talent while and trading with 5SSW.

I haven't used the C-Verse in ages, so I'm not really too familiar with the female talent, but I'm having a blast. Eve Grunge is really one of my favorites so far. She's slowly climbing up the cards and I doubt she'll be over enough by the time I put the belt up, but if she is, I'm probably putting the belt on her. For the moment, Connie Morris seems to be lined up to be the first champion.

I want to have some monster reigns too. SHIMMER having 3 500+ day reigns is a huge inspiration behind this game as weird as it sounds. So Connie will probably have the belt until 2016 is over and then I'd like to have Deborah Young win it from her. I would have liked it if I could've made Geena my first heel champion, but her performances have just been meh thanks to a harsh time decline. Maybe she can turn Deborah into her protege Amazonian.

For the moment, I'm just doing the shows as wrestling matches with no real story behind them. Once the belt is introduced (or I hit Regional, not sure yet), I'll probably start putting some stories into the game.

I cannot wait for this full release. I'm itching to continue this game. I've even considered just starting it up in 2013 to kill some time, but I'd probably get too invested into that. I think I can wait a few more days.

That's actually a pretty remarkable feat of terrible booking.

It's incredible that NXT can be so good while the WWE can be so bad.

Can you imagine actually paying full price for that?

That was so bad.

  3.
Kenny Omega was pulled from ROH's 3/12 show. So it's safe to assume he'll be involved in an angle at the NJC Finals for his next IC opponent?

Also banking on Naito to win. Actually banking on LITERALLY ANYONE, but Goto to win.

  4.
Solid night. YOSHI/Naito surprised me by how good it was. Pretty excited to see YOSHI toss up with more heavyweights. Shibata being signed to a full deal is really exciting too. Really hope that means he'll transition to one of the top belts by the end of the year.

Also, is Sakuraba a heavyweight or jr. heavyweight? It seems like he's a heavyweight, but I feel like he alternates all the time.

AXS show is great, but I'm not sure JR/Barnett will be as good, who knows.

Totally forgot about this. Pretty solid stuff on AXS. They cut down the matches and toss in commercial breaks, so you rarely get a full match, but Ranallo is a fantastic commentator. They also translate an occasional promo or two, but with it being a year or so behind, it'll be an older storyline. I believe the JR/Barnett era starts this Friday as a matter of fact.

I'd also suggest checking out the Voices of Wrestling website. I mostly go there for their New Japan stuff. They do reviews and previews for most shows (at least the ones that air on NJPW World). Also, I highly recommend their free e-book they released earlier this year which is a Year-in-Review for 2015 book about New Japan.

  6.
I'm not too versed on past stuff as I've only really started watching this year. If you're looking for English commentary, I believe Wrestle Kingdom 9 and 10 had English commentary. 2016 New Year Dash had English commentary (not sure about 2015). And the recent ROH/NJPW shows had English commentary I think? Or will once ROH packages it for TV?

Can't say if anything else has English commentary off the top of my head. If it does help, there are some shows with no commentary period, but I'm not sure if that's better/worse depending on your preference.

I'd say tomorrow would be a good starting point with the first night of the New Japan Cup, but it's gonna be Japanese commentary most likely.

He's going to be a fantastic addition to New Japan and would be awesome in CHAOS over Bullet Club for sure.

Probably not.

It'll most likely be an outsider. Maybe someone from NOAH? I'm not familiar enough with their roster though.

I'm just waiting for the new Bullet Club member.

Also locking in my New Japan Cup winner as Tama Tonga.

  9. Ha, I feel bad for Cena, but not the WWE. you Reap what you Sow.

Guy has been rumored to have a shoulder injury for what, like 2 years? They had all that time to plan these 6 months around Mania, instead they tried to push through it, including this latest break where they tried to heal a bum shoulder by just not having him work. Guys break down on the WWE schedule, and it doesn't help WWE pushes them well past when they should have been shut down for surgery/recovery.

Gonna be a odd WM, that for sure. Not much "Star Power" from the full time roster going in due to injuries, but could come out of it with a few stars on the rise.

Spot on with Cena. Pushing off surgery and making guys work intense schedules with it is just horrible. I don't know if this injury was just bad luck or the schedule. He took all off some of October, all of November, and most of December then gets injured a few weeks into the new year. The dude's body has to be trashed with his history of rushing back from injury I imagine. Especially at 38.

That said, with the aid of modern "medicine", I could see Cena making it back, but I think he'll still miss Mania.

Also, I expected Nakamura to be the one to take the longest time to fulfill his obligations before joining the WWE, but he - and I expect that the other three as well - will be joining them by the end of the month. Gosh, I'm so happy. I hope one of them, at least one, debuts/returns at the Royal Rumble. And I hope it is Styles.

Yeah, everyone should be on the roster by the end of the month. I think it's safe to assume his last match will be either on the last few days of Fantastica Mania or immediately afterwards. I've definitely got to imagine AJ will be at the Rumble or the RAW after. Not sure what the NXT TV taping schedule is, but safe to say Gallows and Anderson will be on there too since those episodes probably won't air until late January/early February?

  10. Interesting, not at all what I expected AJ to want or WWE to offer.

I wonder if he shows up in the Rumble?

Well if I recall, AJ said early on that WWE did approach him after he left TNA, but lowballed him. Much like TNA did. Like Final Countdown said, I imagine a lot of this has to do with the Network in Japan possibly paired with bad ratings, so WWE is reaching out.

Wouldn't be surprised if he did show up at the Rumble.

From the sounds of things, he's still got UK commitments to finish up next week but after that, he's free.

Oh, neat! I assume that means we'll get Styles vs. Zack Sabre, Jr. afterall? Rad.

  11. Based on AJ's past comments, style, and age, I kinda expect him to get the Joe treatment. M/E NXT, don't do most of the NXT house shows.

Works for both sides, AJ gets a "WWE" run and a steady check but doesn't have to do the 250+ days of travel, WWE gets to use AJ as a trainer for guys coming through, a unique draw for NXT, and if they need him to fill in on the main roster, I'm sure there are pay escalators for that.

Adding onto the video K-Nection posted, it's rumored that Styles and Nakamura were paid heavily and very well, more than what the WWE paid for Balor. They'll be skipping NXT. Though, I could see them doing a few shows before being placed on the main roster.

Nakamura has plenty of dates to wrap up, but I believe AJ is a free man now. His ROH bookings are done it seems and I assume most of his indie bookings too.

  12. If true, it's big and going to force some changes in New Japan that have been needed for some time.

Interesting if true though given that Nakamura's body is pretty broken down from the Inoki MMA years & the general New Japan nature.

This is what I'm curious about. Same with AJ. The actual wrestling is obviously a lot less stressful, but the touring schedule is what I'm interested about. Especially with house shows. I've got to imagine Nakamura and Styles will have to be doing less house shows if the WWE wants to keep the guys from disintegrating.

These are extremely awesome. Great work!

  14. It was really weird how long they kept him off TV. Then when he FINALLY debuted, it seemed like they wanted to run with him. They gave him like 2 or 3 squash wins, but then even though he didn't do anything, it seemed like he got the dog pound treatment. Reminds me a lot of John Morrison's 2011. Was a pretty good contender, looked like he could be the new face, he challenged the top dogs (Owens), but then they just came to a screeching halt. Dude was then jobbed out until his release.

I think he wasn't on TV much because he didn't have a real character. Didn't help that they gave him a hacker gimmick when he looked like a real life troll doll mixed with an edgy Flintstones character. Just never seemed to have a proper character and had a horrible look. Seemed like they were going to work out something with him and Zahra, but then Zahra got released. As much as I like Sami, I think he's just one of those guys who isn't meant for the WWE. Kind of reminds me of someone like Adam Pearce, Drake Younger, Jimmy Jacobs (Granted, a lot of these guys were near the end of their careers anyways). Guys who probably won't work as wrestlers, but will work well at other positions.

  15. If they need to get him over verbally, give him a mouthpiece such as Heyman or Zeb Colter to do his talking.

Instead of "MexAmerica" we can get "SamoAmerica". But joking aside, I do agree. For Roman to work for me, as a face or a heel, he either needs a mouthpiece (as a heel) or just be a silent bad ass (as a face). Watching him destroy everyone at the PPV and taking out Vince on RAW was definitely a good step forward for him.

It really hurts that the WWE doesn't have any true main eventers at the moment. Hopefully they've finally figured out how to book Roman and he'll be their next main eventer for the future.

  16. Anyone else watch Final Battle? Great PPV, I really liked the main event between AJ Styles and Jay Lethal. I am also happy War Machine are the tag team champions.

Caught it yesterday. Lot of fun. First ROH event I've watched start-to-finish since their 2002 debut show. Cole/KOR, Strong/Fish, and Lethal/Styles were all awesome. Also glad to see a Silas Young match for once. Love that dude.

  17. Only thing dirty about last night's event was Yoel Romero.

This was the first UFC event I've ever watched from start to finish and it was a blast.

Really disappointed the main event went the way it did. Unpredictability is rad, but after months of hype, I was a bit let down that we didn't get a full round or two. Still, what a crazy finish. I can only imagine that next year we'll be getting Holm/Ronda II and McGregor/Aldo II.

Weidman/Rockhold was fight of the night easily. But Demian Maia's performance was my favorite from last night. I really hope we get to see Maia vs. Hendricks next.

Regarding VanZant being the favorite, I think Kingster said it best. It's who gets hyped by Dana usually. Just who the casual/average fans/betters know. Like me, I knew VanZant, but never heard of Rose until the night of the fight (which was awesome).

  18. The problem with MUT solo challenges, at least at the start, is that the scenarios generally put you within one or two plays of completing the challenge. So it ends up taking far, far longer to load into the game and start playing then load back to the main screen afterwards than it does to actually play the challenge. :p

Are you on PS4 or XBone?

YES! I hate that! I mean, I'm grateful that since you're usually better, you can just stomp the game and it's pretty easy, but they take forever to load and like you said, they're often short scenarios.

    I'm on the PS4 btw.

On a side note, I don't know if anyone has gotten to play Mad Max yet, but it's pretty fun. It's got that open-world thing like the Arkham games and Shadows of Mordor. Same fighting system too. Game also gets hella bright which is a nice contrast from MGS5 where I live in the darkness all the time.

  19. Definitely not having the experience you're having with receivers. :p Granted, I'm pretty awful, but even watching guys on Twitch play, it seems pretty reasonable. Obviously sometimes a receiver will catch throws in double or even triple coverage, but that happens sometimes in real life too. Especially when you're against the Steelers defence. :( I haven't had the experience where I feel like I can make ridiculous throws and expect to catch them most of the time, for sure. Especially not against good CBs. And that's on Rookie difficulty.

Draft Champs is great though, I agree. They've obviously ripped it wholesale from Hearthstone, but why not? It's a great idea. Having a lot of fun with it (offline, of course. Online I get utterly demolished.

Even in MUT, the matchmaking has no regard for team OVR ratings or experience of the player, so I regularly get crushed by teams with 20+ team OVR more than me, making it pointless until I've ground out enough coins to get a semi-decent team). A lot of that is the fact that I'm still learning the sport, let alone the game, though.

I think the biggest praise I can give it is the fact that I'm still having fun, despite not really knowing what I'm doing too much yet. :p

Yeah, we play on pro and get some insane catches. We've also had plays where the defensive player basically commits pass interference and the receiver still catches it. Perhaps it's a Play Now thing? Leads to a lot of rage. That being said, I don't complain when my receivers make some one handed catches :p

I agree with MUT matchmaking being rough. A lot like last year too. I pretty much just stick to the single-player games even though they're complete grinds. Especially when your team gets good and then you're playing against teams that are around the 60s while moving through the challenges. Best thing to do is just the challenges and play the auction block/market until you get a halfway decent team. Then you can be the one crushing all the people with awful teams
