  1. <p>Always enjoyed ZEN and always wanted to explore them a bit more. Might give'em a look in 2020 if they're still around. I think them and RAW would thrive from the cinematic matches. ZEN's the only starter Comedy key feature fed I believe and I like to think their unique characters would be enough to keep'em afloat.</p><p> </p><p>

Or maybe they do close and Halloween Knight reopens his dojo. KANZEN could replace them I suppose, but would like to see ZEN stick around.</p>

Though, PWI definitely doesn't need UPJ in this universe.</p><p> </p><p> Or maybe they do in 2020~! oooooh mystery!!</p>
  3. I'd love it if Gao Xi went to UPJ, but he was rejected by the Ozeki Dojo and was trained by Dagger Ito, so the chances of that are slim, UNLESS Dagger Ito makes up with the UPJ brass now that the Matsumoto brothers are gone forever.

Yeah, whoever gets Gao is going to be incredibly lucky. I like the idea of Gao coming into UPJ with Dagger and an invasion force, but I imagine Dagger's return may be too celebrated for that. Then Dagger having good friends in both HONOUR and DIASPORA makes things tricky too if Dagger guides Gao. He could be DIASPORA's heavyweight ace or an ace in waiting for HONOUR (assuming none of their top guys got poached). There's something fun in Dagger having Gao as a top guy in DIASPORA and Taheiji as a top guy in HONOUR as they war on against UPJ.

UPJ in general has a couple of exciting prospects who will have only been wrestling for a few years in 2020 that I'm pumped for too. Would also love to just see them go full NJPW and add like 3 extra belts, bring back the junior tag belts, do two tag leagues, a UPJ Cup because why not? Almost feel like UPJ will be entering the phase New Japan hit in 2013/14 right before gaining more popularity in the States, but I don't really know what American they could bring in to get that started. Maybe Leati if he becomes more popular and polished.

  4. Also pretty stoked to get back into the Japanese scene of the T-Verse. UPJ was the last save I got pretty invested in before I got too busy and lost momentum in the save. The aging main event scene of UPJ is super interesting to me. I think EVR and Oda would be the only guys under 35? Maybe TOKI and TEMPEST made the leap up. I think their junior division could use a shot in the arm too if I recall. So it'd be interesting to see who they've maybe poached or hired (and who they've lost too).

Curious which lucky company snatched up Gao Xi too, assuming they haven't put him through an excursion. It'd be fun to see if he becomes a super young ace for one of the smaller companies.

  5. <p>Very neat, very cool of you.</p><p> </p><p>

I think my all time has to be Bryan winning at Mania 30. After Eddie and Benoit's back-to-back deaths, my interest in wrestling was nonexistent, but during my wrestling sabbatical I came across some ROH shows with Bryan on them and became fascinated by him. Even though his WWE career was (And still is tbh) hard to follow at times, seeing my all time favorite wrestler win it all and have his moment in the sun will always rule.</p><p> </p><p>

In a similar vein for a more recent one, Naito winning becoming double champ is easily a top 5 all time moment for me, maybe even #2.</p>

  6. as the title says this is for adam or for discussion in genral will tew 2020 be the same price and tew 2016 or a diffrent price if a mod happens to see this or adam they i wont be upset if they remove this post as i feel like im being rude to ask a question like this

The price hasn't been confirmed yet, but I believe it is assumed that the price will be the same as TEW 2016.

  7. I grew up on the Ruthless Aggression era, so the Golden Mod also helped me jump into older stuff. Always knew about a lot of the workers, but never really saw many of them in the primes. Guys like Arn, Tully, Rude, the Steiner Brothers, Midnight Express, and the Rock 'n' Roll Express have shot up my all-time favorite boards. It also helped me get into AJW and now Akira Hokuto is my favorite women's wrestler of all time.
  8. <p>Been loving tag wrestling more and more lately, so seeing DDT4 come back is always nice.</p><p> </p><p>

  10. Ah yes, the infamous John Cone problem. The man who has me triple check every match out of fear. Having them be alter egos is a good idea, but would just be an extra step. Could just be worth putting in the notes/readme somewhere to add "Referee" to whoever's name when they retire in the editor. Like Drake Younger would be one I'd assume.

I haven't done any graphic work on a major modding scale (or any modding scale tbh), but if you do end up needing help in that department, I'd definitely lend a helping hand.

  11. <p>I do quite enjoy the Thunderverse's method of referees. Not that it's a big pain in the butt just to filter for refs, but it is a nice little quality of life. I also like the idea of having guys in their peak in B&W, but like you said, it does make it seem like they're dead most of the time. I had some time to kill and popped open Photoshop to see if I could help out here. I tried for a gold, but sometimes it'd either come out too dull or more of a piss yellow, which is...less than ideal.</p><p> </p><p>

I think sepia might be the way to go for HOI/HOF, but it'll depend on the image backgrounds themselves. I took some of the Mod Squad classics vs. the ones I whipped up for reference. So there are some that look good imo like these two</p><p> </p><p>

    </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="3hEGUMA.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/3hEGUMA.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> vs. <img alt="3kv4jmL.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/3kv4jmL.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p>

    <img alt="dJ97Qb0.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/dJ97Qb0.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> vs. <img alt="tKdVlCk.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/tKdVlCk.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

and then ones with a white/lighter background that don't look as good</p><p> </p><p>

    </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="5psZBf6.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/5psZBf6.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> vs. <img alt="V9WW7va.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/V9WW7va.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p>

    <img alt="FARHaj8.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/FARHaj8.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> vs. <img alt="lgv7tHT.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/lgv7tHT.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

    Looks decent in-game too I think</p><p> </p><p>

    </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="fNxFDXg.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/fNxFDXg.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

I haven't worked with GIMP in a minute to know what sepia filters it offers, but perhaps one with a vignette added on could help out. Though that could be a pain in the ass to streamline and do over and over again for wrestlers. But I hope this helps out in some way since I can't do much in the way of helping with the Aussie/EU scene outside of in-ring names!</p>

  12. The biggest thing I want to do is play a dedicated save as a developmental company. I have dreams of doing that with WWE AND booking the main roster too, but I am only human.

I'll either do that or run with some mid-size CVerse company until a retro real world mod pops up. I've been itching to do a mid-2000s ROH or early-2010s PWG dynasty, so might wait and see what's up.

  13. Question of opinion.

If given the option between the two, would you run The Club as a throwback ECW circa TNN era or as a spin on the Urban Wrestling Federation?

I came close to doing a dynasty for The Club, but couldn't commit to the idea, but Lucha Underground and a bit of Wrestling Society X (Which I think it's kinda based off of?) were the influences. I think UWF is a pretty good comparison too. With a dash of actual wrestling carny scumbaggery included. If I recall one of the wrestlers has an actual cocaine addiction and I thought the premise of the owner basically controlling him by supplying him with coke would be on par for The Club.

  14. As I read through it, I thought about a faceless owner, so I do think your idea for a group would be a good idea. Like you said, not ideal, but I think it's a good option. Would just have to add a note saying if ATTACK ever closes or something, have users set him to retired or something like that.

I think Lee being the owner is a good one as well. Again, not ideal, but he's still involved with ATTACK (I think anyways), so I wouldn't put it out of the realm of possibility. As long as its in-house it's fine and I don't imagine many would be too broken up about not being able to sign Lee exclusively.

Neither response is really a definitive answer haha, but I don't think you could go wrong with either one. Sacrificing a bit of realism for playability shouldn't harm anything in the long run.

  15. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Bigpapa42" data-cite="Bigpapa42" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47090" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Questions</strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p> So I don't think it hurts to seek user (potential user) feedback on certain things. So stuff I'm undecided on, I'll occasionally post up to see what people think. Or if people even care lol. </p><p> </p><p> <strong>1. Should Minis be included?</strong> Fairly self-explanatory. I will be adding Hornswoggle / Swoggle soon but that got me wondering if there should be more minis in the mod? They are particularly common in Mexico. While the game isn't set up to emulate them ideally, it should be possible to set them up reasonably well. </p><p> </p><p> <strong>2. Tokyo Joshi Pro</strong>. There is no lack of joshi promotions in the data, which is part of why I didn't bother yet. There is also the factor of exactly how to define the relationship between TJP and DDT. TJP is like a child company that isn't developmental. Looking at the new company relationship definitions for TEW 2020, it might be most accurate to have them as sister companies. TJP were a bit of a mix back then, which obviously doesn't emulate in TEW, but they became more of a standard promotion and have become a pretty good little company, which makes including them feel more worthwhile.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I'm not super well versed on minis one way or another to truly say. Though if it isn't an issue, I think it'd be fine. I know in the 1987 mod, the minis were set to Occasional Wrestlers, which might be the way? But I don't know how often they're used in Mexico.</p><p> </p><p> As for TJP, I think having them as a Sister Company would be the right call. The relationships bit mentions combinations, so I wonder if you could combine Sister Company and DDT sends developmental workers to TJP? Though when DDT Universe comes into play, you'd want to be able to put TJP shows on it and a Child Company is the way to do that unless a Sister Company can in 2020. But alternatively, given their size in the mod is Cult, would the AI sign to developmental contracts? I can't recall playing a game with a Cult size fed that has a dev company to actually know.</p>
    • I've been gradually adding some titles. There is only like 15 in the data so far and none have lineages. Those will be one of the last things to add. But because of info available on Cagematch, I've been trying to make sure the number of defenses for the current champion is correct. I honestly have no idea if other historical mods have bothered with that or not - I can't recall seeing it or even looking. But its the kind of detail I want the mod to have.

I'm legit very happy you're doing this because I do this in every single game I play. I don't know why, but I love belt stats. Days held, times defended, etc. etc. It's so minor, but it just bothers me taking the belt off a guy and it is forever in that save as 0 defenses despite having held the belt for a year before the game started.

Also digging those 3 worker pictures. I want to say Adam Cole at B+ is pretty fair? Maybe a B? I always saw Cole as a WWE guy from the start and I guess in my mind having that WWE image then meant you've got "it" or something. As to where Steen, at a C, I like because it seemed like he wasn't going to get signed for good bit despite being over everywhere else. SQ is a tricky stat that I like and dislike.

congrats on reaching the 600 mark btw! I appreciate these lil updates and knowing the mod is still rolling along.

  16. 2013 is also the year I started to get back into wrestling for like the 4th or 5th time. Though Punk/Rock almost made me give up right back up. i didn't even realize the Wyatts hadn't debuted at this point yet. I foolishly thought that this period was a sign of WWE doing a hard change by rotating out the old guard, but alas. That said, 2013/14 did motivate me to start watching more alternatives and I'm glad it did.

the idea of being able to play as WWE and NXT just before the Takeover era is exciting. so yeah, this mod is gonna rule.
