    AAFW Wrestling Night #1
May 11th, 2020 @ The Magic Room (Orlando, Florida)

Ladies and Gentlemen welcome to the very first show of the reborn All-American Florida Wrestling, a promotion who wants to recreate the feeling of professional wrestling of the past, pro-wrestling of the 60’s and 70’s, pro-wrestling what it used to be. We’re at The Magic Room in Orlando, Florida and the announcer Marvin Earnest and Miles Wakefield welcomed the fans to the show, they’ll get to see five matches with some of the best wrestler of the United States. Earnest explained the rules of AAFW to the Florida faithful as well hyping up the main event between The Fighting Irish and the team of Rayne Man and Ricky Turner. Also two giants will step in the ring, as well as two second generation wrestlers will square off. Just in time when Earnest finished his hype, the first theme was played at The Magic Room.

We see „Prime Time“ Jack Pryde strolling to the ring, constantly ignoring young fans ringside and showing off his perfect body. Pryde is a typical young, arrogant and selfish guy who is proud of his thousands of Instagram follower, his expensive cabriolet and his roles as a actor in various (B) movies. „Prime Time“ announced that he’s not only the most handsome wrestler in this sh*thole, but also the best and he’s going to prove it in the following match.

    ac17WdW.jpeg 7GdDG9p.jpeg
    Jack Pryde vs. Jay Silver
The problem for „Prime Time“ was that his opponent is someone with a no-nonsense fighting attitude: Jay Silver from New Mexico loves a good, clean fight and that is what he tried to prove against Jack Pryde. Althought Pryde is a really good brawler, Silver's vicious martial arts like attacks and his groundgame were a real threat to „Prime Time“. Jack Pryde used forbidden maneuvers on multiple occassions such as punching Silver in the kidneys, pulling hair and all of that without being caught by the referee. Silver fought back and nearly took the win with a brutal takedown, but Pryde escaped. In the heat of battle Pryde had no alternative to stop Silver, but with eye gouging which caused him a disqualification. The crowd booed heavily, Pryde left quickly behind the curtain.

We're ringside where „No Gimmick Needed“ Barry Kingman was being interviewed by Marvin Earnest. Kingman, a Florida native, explained that he knows how it is as a second generation superstar for James Diaz, his tonight's opponent. Kingman said that he once fought James' father Raymond at a tribute show in Japan and if James got 5% of his father's power, it sure will be a tough fight. Last but not least Kingman stated that he's gonna teach that kid a lesson.

James Diaz knows that he's going to face the biggest threat of his short career so far. The son of „The Monster“ Raymond Diaz has huge respect for his opponent, but said that his raw power makes him a dangerous foe for everyone in Florida.

The next match should have been Keith Vegas involved but Vegas couldn't make it to the show which made Gareth Wayne mad. The proud Kentuckian grabbed a mic and challenged someone who's man enough to face him right now. Indeed there was someone who came out and this man was young Zippy Deverell...

    aqQil5V.jpeg zdvuYDR.jpeg
    Gareth Wayne vs. Zippy Deverell
The rugged brawler from Kentucky is a much bigger dude than Zippy Deverell, of course Wayne punched his fellow „Corncracker“ from the left side to the ring to the right side. It definitely looked like an open and shut case but this is pro-wrestling right? Wayne became too confident and incautious. He yelled that he'll take Zippy's head off with a lariat, however Zippy ducked the attempt and made the impossible come true with a flash pin to get the surprising victory. „Everything is possible in All-American Florida Wrestling!“, Miles Wakefield telling to his colleague Marvin Earnest and he's damn right.

In a pre-recorded video Marvin Earnest introduced The Canadian Blondes, Flash Savage & Ozzie Goldstein, to the interview area. Earnest asked the duo what they're up to in AAFW, Goldstein replied that they're happy to be back in a unique promotion with many great talent in the back. Flash Savage stated that they won tag team gold everywhere they went to and they're going to show what they're capable off next week!

    ZjrkoN1.jpeg TYwCmv4.jpeg
    James Diaz vs. Barry Kingman
In a real generational fight, James Diaz fought with big heart against the well travelled veteran but his inexperience may cost him the match. Kingman got rocked a few times by Diaz' big hands and attacks, nevertheless Barry Kingman put the blue chipper down on the mat and finished him. After the match Diaz got back on his two feet again, Kingman reached his hand out for a handshake and the son of Raymond Diaz accepted it after a few moments.

We see a pre-recorded segment where „Playboy“ Jake Sawyer is flanked by two humungous creatures, known as Dreadnought and the Original Sinner. Sawyer, clothed in an expensive suit, having a butler by his side and a huge property in the background – What a rich dude! The wealthy snob introduced his two behemoths to the AAFW fans, saying that these two are going to destroy each and every opponent who'll face them in the ring. Sawyer continued and warned every man in the AAFW lockerroom that his monsters will crush everything and everybody.

The Crazy Horses (Ace Youngblood & Wild Red Stallion) vs. Original Sinner & Dreadnought w/Jake Sawyer
The two native americans showed great passion and heart against two absolute giants. Dreadnought and Original Sinner combined their raw power with Sawyer barking his instructions from the outside. The behemoths even lifted Youngblood over their heads before Dreadnought put Youngblood upside down from the sky. An insanely impressive win for the second generation wrestlers.

AAFW comissioner Frank Rogers is on the microfon and disgusted by the actions of Jack Pryde in the opening match. Rogers explained that such things will not be tolerated by AAFW! Eye gouging, throwing someone over the top rope, hitting his opponent with the dangerous piledriver and kidney punches are strictly forbidden in AAFW and will be fined. Rogers said that „Prime Time“ will be fined with $500!

Ricky Turner & Rayne Man vs. The Fighting Irish (Crockett Tubbs & Conner Threepwood)
It was time for the very first main event of All-American Florida Wrestling relaunch and boy this was an exiciting one. The Fighting Irish, Crocket Tubbs and Conner Threepwood, against Rayne Man and Ricky Turner. In the course of the match Ricky Turner tried to bend the rules to the maximum,Threepwood was pissed but let his wrestling skills speak as he nearly got Turner with a Stretch Plum. Turner's eye gouging attempts behind the back of the referee let the fans at The Magic Room boo heavily. Tubbs tried to show it to the referee but he was always too slow to see it. The opposition used the argument between Tubbs and the referee for an illegal double team move on Threepwood! It wasn't a surprise when Turner stopped a submission move by Threepwood with a kick to the head, causing a turmoil between the four men. Turner had a temper tantrum, he put Tubbs in a spike Piledriver position and ignored the warning of the referee and dropped one half of the Fighting Irish on his head. Disqualification!

Turner left the ring quickly while Rayne Man wasn't too sure about Turner's antics in this match. Crockett Tubbs was provided with medical attention. What a way to end the show. Ricky Turner not only caused his team the loss but also did a strictly forbidden move who potentially injured Crockett Tubbs for good. Threepwood was beside himself with anger, shoved Turner around which lead to a brawl between these two.

  2. Okay I am surprised to see Wakabayashi being such a dominant force in the tournament. I mean that is a style of booking patern which isn't used that often in Japan, so I'm happy to see it here. It made sense when seeing that the returning Haranobu Kobayashi put an end to Takano's reign the tour after that. The king is back!

Shuga Amano casually returned from excursion and just pinned a former champion and Burning Hammer legend! Big times ahead of him and I love to see the NJPW-esque big return from excursion angle here.

We are heading towards All-American Florida Wrestling's first show after the rebirth and we've got some exciting news for you folks. The show will be broadcasted live on WrestleWorld, but more importantly you can attend the show live at The Magic Room in Orlando, Florida to witness history. The show will start at 7 PM local time and right after the show there will be a meet and greet with some of Florida's top talent.

Marvin Earnest will be doing live commentary for WrestleWorld alongside Miles Wakefield, who will be Earnest's broadcasting partner for All-American Florida Wrestling from now on. Wakefield has been in the business for 14 years and mostly worked in Texas.

The main event will be a tag team match between four men, who contributed much to the US-Independent scene the last decade. The Fighting Irish, Conner Threepwood and Crockett Tubbs, will be fighting the team of Rayne Man and Ricky Turner. Rayne Man started his career in Supreme Wrestling Federation while his partner was trained by legend Rip Chord and worked in MAW. The Fighting Irish however had the best time of their career up north in Canada where they held the NOTBPW Tag Team Titles on three occassions.

We also get to see Indy mainstays like Gareth Wayne or Barry Kingman in action as well as two young monsters called Dreadnought and Original Sinner, who will take on the native american tag team The Crazy Horses

  5. Thanks for all the positive feedback as well as the likes I have received so far.

Like @arlovski already mentioned, I never did a diary like this one, but I wanted to do something new out of my "comfort zone" and I'm really looking forward to see how the diary will evolve over the next weeks. I wrote a couple of shows in advance, so I hope I won't fall back behind when I've got no time to write anything due to work or family related stuff.

  6. Great to see Wakabayashi winning the title. I think I predicted him as the Strongest Singles GP winner way too early, but how do we say in Germany: "Besser spät als nie " 😛

Loved the little thing with the new move about Ishinomori's return ann on top of that he was able to win the National title right away. Strong comeback by him.

I was super bad at predicting stuff so far, so I'll keep it short. You give us some little breadcrumbs with Takano being the favourite to win it, he would have been my pick too, but I guess that's just a red herring right? 😛 Anyway I have the feeling that it will be someone from Block B. Nakasawa or Takano? We'll find out!

The Pro Wrestling Reporter by Greg Sluchinski

Greg here with a new update on The Pro Wrestling Reporter Newsletter. Hear me out Florida, there is a new sheriff in town named Frank Rogers, better known as Fabulous Frank for you folks. The Tallahassee born veteran started a new wrestling company and the older fans will probably recognize the name very well: All-American Florida Wrestling.

Yes, you heard that right! Frank did some sort of a deal to get the name rights, and they will start the ride on March 11th on a Wednesday night. The show will be held in Orlando, Florida at The Magic Room and you can get access from home with the brand new wrestling streaming platform WrestleWorld. But what's even more interesting is that a very popular Indy wrestling figure like Marvin Earnest has his hands in there, too. Just weeks ago I first reported about Marvin's departure from Mid Atlantic Wrestling due to his new love he found in South Florida, and it seemed like Earnest is happy to work down there as he said just days ago in Phil Vibert's podcast.

Earnest said there that they'll run a typical old school schedule with all shows happening on a Wednesday night every two weeks. They also announced a very old school-ish ruleset with getting fines, being disqualified for throwing the opponent over the top rope and things like that. This approach is truly unique and intriguing. I am uncertain whether if it will make them money, but I sincerely hope they do well.

What may be more intriguing to guys is Marvin's announcement of the initial participants for their inaugural show. He said that young and up comer will fight, but also those who have a name value in Indy Wrestling like Conner Threepwood, Barry Kingman, Ricky Turner and Gareth Wayne. One name is fascinating to me and that is James Diaz, the son of Raymond Diaz and one hell of a talent.

I think All-American Florida Wrestling will find their niche in Florida and for people outside of the state who are interested in some sort of an old school product. I wish them good luck and time will tell if they will be able to exist longer.

Frank Rogers knows he can't do everything on his own. One of the biggest brains in Independent Pro-Wrestling in the United States is definitely „Marvelous Marv" Marvin Earnest. The 46-year-old Earnest has been in the business for 28 years and worked for Mid-Atlantic Wrestling and New York City Wrestling since 2005. Marvin left NYCW to work primary for MAW in 2009, but after eleven long years he resigned from MAW at the end of last year due to his new partner, a Floridian woman.

Rogers contacted Earnest and convinced him to work with him in Florida. With the great mind of Earnest, AAFW could be in great hands. The plan is to held shows every two weeks on a wednesday night, travelling around Florida to get people behind the product.

Frank: Good too see you Marv, how's it goin'?

Marv: Thanks Frank, I'm fine. What about you? So why do you wanted to see me?

Frank: I wanted to talk to you about the rules of the promotion and the TV-Deal. Were you successful?

Marv: Uhm.. Yea.. Kind of. Uhm yea we've got a deal.

Frank: YES BABY! You're the best Marv. I know why I wanted you to be in my team pal.

Frank was fired up while Earnest was a bit concerned. The wrestling media outlets were aware of a deal with online streaming service WrestleWorld, the newest player in the game. Earnest knew that this move was a potential needle mover for the young promotion, but Frank definitely would hate the idea of not being on a traditional channel.

Marv: So, you don't know who that broadcaster right?

Frank: No son, I don't have a clue. But it sounds good. WrestleWorld TV! What a cracking name that is.

Earnest knew that Frank wouldn't understand it. He's so out of touch that even explaining him what online streaming is, would be too hard.  What Frank knows better is how to handle rules for his promotion, his idea of pro-wrestling is different to today's promotions.

Frank: There will be no attacking the referee, no throws over the top rope, no such things as eye gouging, hair pulling, pulling trunks, mask or straight punches. Contestants who repeatedly violate any of the rules will be disqualified and/or will be fined. We will treat this great sport of professional wrestling as a serious sport.

Marv: This sounds great Frank. We should list all rules and put it out on paper for the visiting fans in the venues.

  10. OOC: Hello again folks! After a break of nearly three months I am back with another diary and this time it's something I have never done before. This will be an attempt to do a diary in the United States but with a product to recreate a more old-school feeling. I hope I can do something cool here and entertain some people with the diary.

I want to thank @Number Green & @WalterSobchak for their AI render, which I'll use in this diary. I wanted to try something new and both of these guys knocked it out of the park. Great job!

Also: Thank you @Dalton for always listening to my stuff as well as @The Blonde Bomber for giving me some advices for the diary.

Florida is a truly unique place on planet Earth. The only location where gators and crocodiles coexist, the most beautiful beaches are situated here and .. Dick The Devastator! Dick fought the best wrestlers of the United States in his own promotion AAFW for years throughout the sixties and seventies. He entertained thousands of people in the Sunshine State and most importantly crowned himself as the champion over a dozen times.

Dick The Devastator is long gone now and Florida lacks a solid wrestling product. And this is where Frank Fabulous comes into play. The 61-year-old guy from Tallahassee, Florida, is a fan of things from the past: Typewriter, record player and Classic Southern Rasslin‘. „I absolute despite stuff like social media, food blogging and modern wrestling. People like me are also mad about the current products of the big promotions. I want to bring back the old-fashioned feeling of Pro-Wrestling to a place where I had the best time during my career.

When Frank Roberts was a kid, he loved AAFW, he went to shows in the Tallahassee suburb, and he always wanted to get in the ring with all of those wrestlers. But all good things ended and All-American Florida Wrestling closed its door in 1978. And now, forty years later, he's making his dream come true.

„Fabulous“ Frank Roberts brings All-American Florida Wrestling back to life!

  13. Soooo... We won't talk about my predictions right.. RIGHT? 😛

Anyway Nagasawa as the one to dethrone the inaugral champion was a great choice and I thought about writing down how important he could be in the growth of SGM... he lost the title immediatly to the Destiny Masters again. Avalanche Takano with a big win not only for his faction but also for himself as well.

  15. Missed the last prediction but this time I'm in.

Ibushi is a big sign for VANGUARD. I don't know how good he'll perform for you here but in my custom Indy Puro fed (with Shuji Ishikawa as the owner) he was absolutely miserable and he even faced Takuya Nomura on both occasions. Babatunde as Bob Sapp is a cool thing to be honest. Since Barnetto was the first one to beat Sapp in IGF, I'll bet on him here too.

    Barnett
    Nakamura
    Sakuraba
    Nomura
Shibata & ?? - I'm super bad at predicting unknown people but I'll just say it'll be Nagai and Harimao'z will be back here.
    Suzuki
