  1. <p>It's just the excitement from the game's launch, eventually the number of active diaries and rate of new ones will go down. Once that happens, one forum is more than enough and you'll get like 4-5 diaries per day getting an update.</p><p> </p><p> I'm assuming you're referring to new diaries, because once you've found one you like, you can always use the Thread Tools on the upper right of said thread to subscribe and keep up. Once that's done, you can hit Quick Links -> Subscribed threads and get a list with all the ones you're following. That way you can instantly check if your favourite diaries have any new posts.</p>

There was little to no high flying on display, instead the match was worked in a very traditionalist manner, heavy on the strikes and grappling back and forth. Sadly, the two women’s styles didn’t seem to click really well and the action felt a little off key but the finish ended the match with a bang as O’Peter somehow tricked her opponent into underestimating her and caught her with a surprise roll up for the win.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Cassie O’Peter</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">25</span></strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="mjjRZhw.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mjjRZhw.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> Women’s championship Round Robin tournament Round 2 match</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="63uvfJZ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/63uvfJZ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="zEPeklq.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/zEPeklq.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> Florida Simard vs Gysy Rose</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> The next match delivered all the high flying action that had been missing from the opener, with Rose especially continuing to impress with her skills following her RotO debut. Simard made good use of her more well rounded style in an attempt to ground her nimble opponent, but Rose remained on the move and kept attacking from all angles, well aware that a more static approach would be her doom. What brought about her doom though was her inexperience, as she miscalculated the timing on a springboard dive; Simard rolled out of the way to send her opponent crashing onto the mat, then unleashed a flurry of offense to capitalize on the opening and score the pin just moments before the ten minute mark.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Florida Simard</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">37</span></strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="mjjRZhw.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mjjRZhw.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> Women’s championship Round Robin tournament Round 2 match</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="mokJyn1.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mokJyn1.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="p9Ni2cl.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/p9Ni2cl.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> Paula Edwards vs Serena Ventura</strong></p></div><p></p><p> At 245lb of muscle and mean intentions, Paula Edwards looks like she’d make short work of half the men’s roster so facing her is never an enviable position to be in. That’s exactly what Serena Ventura found out the hard way, barely landing a move and even when she did, it never looked like it had any effect on Edwards, who threw her around the ring like a rag doll. As one sided as a match can get, this one dragged on for quite a bit but that only served to establish Edwards as a sadistic heel and garner sympathy for Ventura who refused to give up regardless of how bad she got beat up before the pinfall that felt almost merciful.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Paula Edwards</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="color:#2E8B57;">45</span></strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="mjjRZhw.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mjjRZhw.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="font-size:14px;">INTERMISSION</span></strong></p><p><strong> </strong><span>http://49.media.tumblr.com/f253011c31ab6ba74be2c05e2fbc0128/tumblr_o3jqbxBRnY1uctr63o1_500.gif</span></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="mjjRZhw.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mjjRZhw.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="FwpPMkS.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/FwpPMkS.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="xubMr0F.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/xubMr0F.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> Cesar Sionis vs Ryushi Ruysaki</strong></p></div><p></p><p> Easily the most physical match of the night, Sionis and Ruysaki traded some hard hitting blows back and forth, often intentionally dropping their guard and daring each other to strike as hard as possible. Fans were all too happy with the outcome and seeing an even, competitive match was a welcome change of pace after Edwards had previously demolished her opposition. Ruysaki seemed to be struggling with his balance after a snap suplex from Sionis sent him crashing neck first onto the canvas, but the incident also fired him up to throw caution to the wind and attack with renewed aggression. Despite several warnings from the referee, Ruysaki seemed to be lost in his own murderous intent and for the safety of all parties involved, a disqualification was called to audible boos from the crowd who clearly wanted to see more than just ten or so minutes of this.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Cesar Sionis</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="color:#2E8B57;">42</span></strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="mjjRZhw.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mjjRZhw.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="KRd8pBF.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/KRd8pBF.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> <strong>Frye:</strong> I’ve had fans come up to me and ask if I’m mad or jealous about Robert competing for the title, so I wanted to take a moment and publicly set the record straight. Robert is a long time friend. He’s been my other half as tag team champions, twice. I could not be any happier for him. If I’m mad about something, it’s the hoops he’s made to jump through before he finally gets his title match. So tonight, I’m gonna be at his corner to support him and make sure no one interferes with the match, no dirty tricks or cheating. And once he’s done with tonight, I’ll be at his side again when he wrestles for the RotO championship. He deserves to win a major singles title and I am looking forward to celebrating that moment with him soon.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="color:#2E8B57;">57</span></strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="mjjRZhw.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mjjRZhw.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="AhotWa7.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/AhotWa7.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="eyZU7C1.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/eyZU7C1.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> Petter Eriksson vs Petrov Yakovlev</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Another match that started off pretty physical, this one got paced down once Eriksson was able to grab his opponent in a hold and take things from a brawl into a grappling contest. There was quite a story to be told there between a tactically smart veteran who switched to his alternative, criminally underrated skillset and a passionate yet pretty one-sided up and comer who gave it his all. Oddly enough, this match was way less one sided that one would have expected, although Eriksson’s sloppiness at times might have been to blame as it created some surprise openings for Yakovlev to get back in the game, although ultimately the Belarussian fell to the Northern Lights Bomb of his opponent.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Petter Eriksson</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="color:#2E8B57;">41</span></strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="mjjRZhw.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mjjRZhw.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="lR9LQdX.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/lR9LQdX.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="LFcPDbz.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/LFcPDbz.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><strong>W</strong><img alt="KRd8pBF.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/KRd8pBF.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> “Macho Man” Alberto Montero vs “The Louisiana Pitbull” Robert Howard (with Nelson Frye)</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Both Montero and Howard are big heavy hitters. They are tough, resilient men. They have the experience as well as a track record that’s not as filled with titles as it should be. This was more or less a mirror match and it became very apparent after the opening exchange that this would come down to stamina, endurance and a real hunger for victory. Both men tapped into their fighting spirit to keep going as they traded blows, hitting bigger and bigger moves with each sequence as the match built up to a crescendo.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="12XzW2n.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/12XzW2n.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> Giovanni Bruno chose to make an appearance as the match got close to the 15 minute mark, but Nelson Frye proved true to his word when he blocked Bruno’s way to the ring before the Lounge Lizard could get near the ropes. True to his sleazy character, the Italian tried to fast talk his way through and when he realized that wasn’t going to happen, ended up getting chased to the back by Frye. With no one but the two competitors now to focus on, the match amped up the drama as Montero and Howard traded finisher attempts, the near falls until Howard finally burst into a spear that was enough to keep the Spaniard down for the count.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Robert Howard</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="color:#2E8B57;">47</span></strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="mjjRZhw.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mjjRZhw.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> Show Rating:</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="color:#2E8B57;">48</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p>
  3. Solid narrative, gets Conner over as the working class babyface of CWI much like McManus was for RMW/CWL.
  4. Apu did a great job of making some sense of the EMLL canon on this thread. They're three prizes, kinda like ROH's Ring of Honor or AEW's ring, instead of belts and they're supposed to have supernatural powers plus owning all three will trigger some kind of catastrophic event or whatnot. Think of them as the Infinity Stones in the MCU.
  5. Pretty happy with the shakeup so far, makes the database quite different compared to 16 and thus interesting to play as after 4 years of non-stop gaming and several saves, I'd started to feel like I had done everything I wanted to do in that world and every new save felt repetitive. Having these starting screens to summarize what's happened in every region was a nice introduction too and I can see the feature getting some good use in mods. USA Never really bothered with the major promotions myself, but I did notice some big retirements (most mentioned already). Operation Lullaby and the IRS didn't discover any financial dirt in SWF, but they found a ton of other dirty stuff that forced ol' man Eisen into retirement. Seeing MAW become TCW's feeder league gives it an interesting spin and I'm curious how much longer they can keep COTT going. So glad to see my favourite GSW around and going strong, while IPW have lost Nemesis. Women's Wrestling took a hit with the shock closure of AAA, but QAW are expanding and several others like CZCW have introduced Women's Divisions. Canada The big news is NOTBPW and CGC merging to form CWA yawn. In somewhat more interesting news, 4C streched themselves into bankruptcy and now ACPW is the hot new alternative, with women (integrated matches too, if I recall correctly). Still no anti-establishment hardcore promotions around though, wonder when someone will finally tap into that audience that wants to raise a big middle finger to the Stones and DeColts. Mexico Champagne Lover went to shoot movies, Jorge Ibanez passed and SOTBPW rebranded itself into EILL. They're still the powerhouse, with OLLIE looking more and more ancient. CILL are trying to invest in Women's Wrestling, trading talent heavily with QAW across the border. My most loved change is EMLL going full Lucha Underground and creating its own universe of heroes and storylines. If ZEN are ripping of Saturday morning cartoons, EMLL get inspiration from Punisher and Spawn comics. Japan What the... So the tsunami from the 2016 game is canon and it turned things upside down. GCG finally tapped out, WEXXV closed and left a huge void in the deathmatch scene and despite the hints of shady investors, it was not EXODUS2010 but WLW that were revealed to be connected to the yakuza. This means the Modern Japan Movement is dead and buried, westen schedules are no longer considered cool and everyone's doing tours again. Black Canvas are the clear winners here, having not only survived but growing steadily and landing a broadcast deal too. In PGHW and BHOTWG, all of the old guard retired and it's make or break with their successors having to step up. UK 21CW still rules all, SNP is still around, the big news is Championship Wrestling from Wigan bringing back ye ol' Ring of Fire British Strong Style. Europe I have to say, this is the Region I'm mostly disappointed with, as the only thing that happened was that all 3 promotions simply grew a bit. No one closed, no new promotions opened. I was really hoping for an all-female promotion spearheaded by ladies like Jeri Behr, Aud Valkyrie and Thea Davis, but I guess that's up to players to create if they want to. Oceania Another pretty static region from what I've seen so far, I'm just glad ZEN and DIW haven't called it quits yet.
  6. Hell yeah, EMLL is my favourite Mexican promotion and I love the twist their product/canon took in 2020! DeCipher vs. El Hijo Del Fantasma DC is more over, but I always thought he's overrated Death's Head vs. Scorpion Always felt bad for Scorpy. He's good, just not good enough and DH needs to look dangerous Blue Wolf vs. Samael the Accuser Guess we're building up the heel group/universe Boriken Love Machine Jr vs. Captain Lucha Why isn't this the main event? It could very well steal the show La Bestia Morada vs. La Estrella I like both guys, but Estrella has more upside. Also, this is a diary by a person named LaEstrella, I mean, come on...
  7. I'm sure that was that note, because I remember being stunned at a brawl being all "nothing special going on". It may have been an older patch though, I just finished a show (now using the latest patch) with a 3 vs 3 brawl and it did alright without me getting any detrimental notes, so I guess that's fixed now.
  8. While we're at it, I've done freestyle angles with both men involved rated on Fighting (ye basic backstage brawl) and got the "nothing interesting going on" note. Is Fighting working like Overness etc or was it because of something else, like the workers not being over enough or the angle going on for too long?
  9. <p>Awesome! I can see him feuding with this guy:</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="vDIJOaN.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/vDIJOaN.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p>
  10. Technically not a Re-Render, but if you're weird like me you're probably itching to capitalize on that early 2020s Zeitgeist and put a worker under a more... Exotic gimmick
  11. I'm not the type of person to break the game's system down to cold hard numbers (although I understand and respect people who do that) but my gut feeling and understanding of various products seems to coincide with Jaded's list when I ask "what would make fans of such a style boo someone?" For starters, it's almost always a variant of some hardcore style in question. The core of such a product is either wild fistfights or crazy weapons spots, so the crowd would boo someone who couldn't throw a proper punch or would botch a chair shot. If you take that up a notch from just bloody deathmatches and add some angles and edgy storytelling a la oldschool ECW, fans might be able to overlook someone's in-ring shortcomings if they cut good promos, have a good gimmick or pull off an exciting long entrance. Thus, Charisma becomes an alternative to avoid getting booed. If it's some sort of lucha hardcore, you can get away with good high flyers who can't brawl or lack charisma, as long as they do them flips right. If it's a smarky, meta kind of product, Psychology and Selling become big factors, because you don't want to be labelled a spot monkey in such an environment. Also, Puroresu might be a viable alternative to Brawling, mainly because these smarky internet fans are big into Japanese wrestling and all things strong style. To come round to the opening question, Acid's shortcomings seem to be his Toughness and Resilience, but that shouldn't have anything to do with him getting booed (just him getting injured and picking up a lot of wear and tear from working the style). His Brawling and Hardcore are weaker than his Technical/Aerial/Flashiness, but since the product requires Steal the Show matches I think he could get away with flips (though I'd feel more certain if the product required High Spots matches). Which leads me to believe that Charisma, another thing he's not great at, is probably a factor in IPW. Apparently they see him as a solid but bland high flyer who can only do that and wouldn't survive a blow-for-blow exchange with the heavy hitters on the roster.
  12. Always thought Mexican Hardcore Wrestling had potential, really. With the new products expanding "hardcore" and not making it so damn punishing to book, I can really see MHW present a Mexican Horror/Grindhouse product, kinda like EMLL but more gory and less cartoony. UCW has also been a great prospect, bringing hardcore to the technical blandness of Canada. There's a real gap in the market since 4C went for faster action and less blood, now with them out of business it's high time for Larry Wood to set up UCW!
  13. The mirror version of this is how I played BCG in '16 trying to take GCG out. I guess my BCG save (diary?) in '20 will be about taking WLW for the whole Modern Japan Movement that gave me hell in the previous game, plus they got silly flippy small masked guys and yakuza money so SHAME! SHAME!
  14. The Mexican Superman himself Captain Lucha (formerly Angel de Mexico) walked up to me during my first EMLL show while still holding the top title and offered to put Hijo del Fantasma over clean. Also, I did a tour of the GSW roster asking people to quit their drug habits. Imagine my reaction when Aces High said "sure" and quit, cold turkey.
  15. I've also gotten dirt sheet notes in TEW16 about workers getting a bonus for being suited to doing a Storytelling match (it was Joey Beauchamp, if you're curious) so I assume that might still be a thing in 2020.
  16. I find this easiest when booking Japanese promotions, where wrestling is treated as a sport. Everyone across the card is trying to be the best and by spreading title matches over time, you end up with them being a big deal solely due to their rarity. Spend some time building up the journey too, like having someone survive a gruelling tournament to even get a title shot and then even getting a shot becomes a big deal, win or lose. That is textbook stuff. That's what makes characters relatable or hateable, what makes a win or loss matter.
  17. Seconding D-Lyrium, this needs to happen and judging by your past WEXXV diaries, I'd be all over it! Credit to willr0ck for this
  18. Don't know if we'll be doing any prediction contests or even pre-posting show cards, but I do know that passing the save around, booking and writing shows takes quite some time so the pace of posting will be too slow for binge reading anyway

Nope, he probably wasn't going to ask her for pointers.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>"Oui?"</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="static.gif" data-src="https://peet.wordpress.com/files/2006/10/static.gif" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> Of course she responded in French. This wasn't going to be easy for him. He was the veteran, but she was a much bigger star here than him. He was comfortable getting his way in the locker room, but he had always shared it with other guys. This was not DIW. This was different.</p><p> </p><p> "You, uhm, you familiar with that Witch Doctor kid?" he began. "Showed up high out of his mind before the first show? Yeah, well, I caught him smoking another one outside the venue earlier. Had to slap it straight out of his hand. Slap some sense into him too, he promised to give up the habit."</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="0VhPXbO.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/0VhPXbO.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> <em>That's just bad juju</em></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> "Oui, what's that got to do with me?" she answered with a shrug. "You looking to ah-gossip?"</p><p> </p><p> Cesar tilted his head sideways and sighed. So she was playing ignorant, huh? This wasn't going to be easy at all. Not like he could slap some sense into her too.</p><p> </p><p> "No, Florida. Petrov told me you're into the same stuff, ever since your days together back in the dojo. I'm here to tell you to give it up, it kills your cardio and makes you a lot less safe to work with."</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="eyZU7C1.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/eyZU7C1.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> <em>But how does he know?</em></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> She simply snorted, then smiled. "You're not my dad" she told him. "You're old enough to <em>be</em> my dad, perhaps, but you don't get to tell me what to do with my life, monsieur."</p><p> </p><p> With that, she just spun on her heel again and began to walk away. Maybe she'd blaze one after all, before unpacking the merch. Meanwhile, Cesar Sionis was so stunned, he could do nothing but stare.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><em>"Old? Alexis Lee Littlefeather was also a great symbolic pick for people to see wrestling, the former gimmicky Indian Babe of Sin City now turned into a full blown proper wrestler who's embraced her Native American roots in QAW, as she grappled with the champion. It only took a standing switch into a snap suplex for the highly energetic Little Miss Perfect to turn things around though and after overwhelming her challenger, she caught her in the Newton's Cradle to score the pin after 15 minutes and 28 seconds of non stop, high octane action.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Little Miss Perfect (Defences: 1)</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#2E8B57;">42</span></span></strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="8gDIWvl.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/8gDIWvl.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="e0nGRne.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/e0nGRne.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="l2udbFh.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/l2udbFh.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="2C3DTDH.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/2C3DTDH.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> Coco Malloy vs Darkness Cat vs Izzy Quick</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Keeping up with the spectacular style of the opening match, this three way contest wasn’t as fast paced but it really turned the spectacle to eleven. All three girls pulled off all their big moves, rookies Malloy and Quick especially as they’re eager to make a name for themselves. As a result, things looked extremely spotty;it didn’t help that Darkness Cat, presumably the veteran in this match, has already been criticized for being a bit of a spot monkey anyway, nor did Izzy Quick botching most of her moves but for the ten or so minutes this lasted, they all did their best with flips and rolls in hopes of drawing attention away until Cat hit the Black Cat Moonsault on Izzy Quick for the win.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Darkness Cat</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#FFA500;">31</span></span></strong></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="8gDIWvl.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/8gDIWvl.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> Cut backstage to Commissioner Bomb’s office, where she’s reading up some notes. Not regular tag teams though, but rather two duos featuring women from the same faction in a match fuelled by the rivalry between their badass group leaders. With Alexis Lee Littlefeather wrestling in the opening title match, her other two Storm Front allies were booked to wrestle here and apparently in an attempt to make things fair and even, their opponents were also a leader-rookie pairing in Hernandez and Luck. Other than a short pairing between the rookies halfway into the match to let them shine and pick up the pace, this match was worked mainly with Hernandez wrestling Shah and Hurricane wrestling Luck. The Hernandez-Hurricane matchup was teased, but never delivered and the leader of the Clenched Fist was able to wrap this up with a Running Bulldog on Shah.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: Hellcat Hernandez & Felicia Luck</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#2E8B57;">42</span></span></strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="8gDIWvl.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/8gDIWvl.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="qpoUofG.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/qpoUofG.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="MGUCuAL.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/MGUCuAL.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> “The Queen of Hearts” Danielle Sweetheart vs Raquel “100% Rudo” Alvarado</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> First and only singles match of the show, QAW veterans Sweetheart and Alvarado squared off one more time in a good contest that was meant to highlight where each woman is at right now. Sweetheart, fresh off her return from injury, was looking to show she can still go, maybe even start building up some steam for another Queen of the Ring tournament win. On the other side, Alvarado has been with the company for 9 years, won the tag team and Shockwave titles twice but never the big prize, thus a victory over Sweetheart could really help her ascend to the next level. Both women were really fired up to score the win here even if no prize was on the line or no personal rivalry fuelled them. The match was very competitive and went on for well over the ten minute mark, hitting nearly 15 before Sweetheart caught her charging opponent with a desperate Super Kick for the knockout blow that helped her get the three count.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Danielle Sweetheart</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#2E8B57;">46</span></span></strong></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="MLoko29.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/MLoko29.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="wLluu6a.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/wLluu6a.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="Rz9AS02.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Rz9AS02.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Danielle Sweetheart is celebrating her victory when Marie Punnen and Honey Badger hit the ring, circling it like a pair of hungry sharks. However, since Commissioner Bomb made this a tag match with each side involving a faction leader, the pairings are unusual enough to feel fresh while their non-wrestling teammates still remain at ringside to provide support and remind viewers of the larger feud between the groups. Despite not regularly teeming with each other, both teams seem to function well enough, never showing any timing issues but no flashes of brilliance either. Unlike most QAW matches, this one is paced slow with lots of tags and some quality back and forth grappling, a sharp response to those criticizing the company’s product as “flashy flips with little actual skill or substance”. As things move on though and the women get tired, Ronin 3’s side starts sneaking in some assists whenever they can, infuriating fans as well as the Line’s members. Parissi especially seems to work particularly well with any shenanigans Vinny Cruz comes up with, which should be no surprise given how they’re both the only founding members of the group and long time allies; there’s an instinctive understanding of each other, a bond forged through time and experience. Still, Grover and Handley hold their ground, with Perez at ringside gradually losing her patience and referee Erin Lawrence struggling to maintain control of the match so it doesn’t break down into all out gang warfare. Not an enviable position to be in and not an easy job to pull off when there’s so much to look out for, which is exactly how Vinny Cruz likes it when he pulls Handley’s hair from the outside to stop her momentum and set her up for LaRue’s Flash Head Kick. Barton immediately dashes around the ring to lock horns with Perez while Parissi barely prevents Grover from breaking up the cover in time and just like that, Ronin 3 steal another victory!</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: Foxxy LaRue & Toni Parissi</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#2E8B57;">48</span></span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:14px;"> </span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:14px;"> Show Rating</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:14px;"> </span></strong><strong><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#2E8B57;">46</span></span></strong></p></div><p></p>

Forge of Fury Sunday, Week 3 January 2020 Athens, Southern Mediterranean, Europe Attendance: 90 <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/NT714sj011w" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> The show begins with the music of Dovydas Vidmar as the new RotO Champion makes his way to the ring, title carried on his shoulder. Vidmar: Last time I was in this ring, I said I was going to carve my own path and I did just that. I was up against not one, not two but three top tier opponents and still left the building as the first ever Ring of the Olympians Champion! The fans' boo turns to cheers as Nelson Frye and Robert Howard come out to join Vidmar in the ring. Frye: I'm not the kind of man to complain over a loss, neither is Robert here. However, we can't overlook the way you won that title and neither can these people. It’s only right to... Alberto Montero and Giovanni Bruno make their way out of the curtain, but do not proceed to join the others between the ropes. Instead, Bruno produces a mic from inside his shiny white leisure suit, complete with sparkly decoration all over. Bruno: I say-eh, for someone who “doesn’t complain over a loss” you sure are a terrible liar on top of a sore loser… For over twenty years now, every time things don’t go your way, you somehow talk your way into a rematch or some sort of title opportunity. But the fact remains, two weeks ago, you lost! Me and Alberto here… we won! Frye and Howard discuss something off the mic for a moment as tension builds… Frye: You know what, you’re right. So I ran this through Robert here… how about we solve this inside the ring, you two big winners… against the Gentleman and the Pitbull?! Fans cheer at the suggestion while Montero and Bruno accept the challenge off the mic, retreating to prepare as everyone else leaves the ring after them. 58 Women’s championship Round Robin tournament Round 1 match Blair Kerrigan vs Spider Isako Kerrigan and her “Irish Fire” character received a pretty lukewarm response from the fans during her entrance, unlike the much more theatrical entrance and outfit of Isako, who seems to be RotO’s incarnation of the “Gothic Grappler” gimmick that Fusae Etsuko made famous. This was a pretty simple and strike-heavy match between the scrappy, energetic Kerrigan and Isako’s Japanese strong style. If anything, it introduced both women to the fans although the lack of experience on both sides was painfully obvious for the ten or so minutes the match went on before Isako caught Kerrigan with a Jumping Knee Strike to get the pin. Winner: Spider Isako 21 Women’s championship Round Robin tournament Round 1 match Cassie O’Peter vs Machiko Matsuda Two more ladies in the title tournament for the audience to warm up to, although many fans seemed to already know Matsuda thanks to her excursion time spent with EWA in Germany. Cassie O’Peter seemed to fare better than her usual partner earlier and it was largely thanks to the technical skill she displayed on top of her striking arsenal, but Matsuda had the experience edge and wasn’t shy about flaunting it, whether she was slapping her rookie opponent around or posing for the crowd. It was this setup that really had fans rooting for O’Peter and booing Matsuda, with the latter getting a little carried away trying to antagonize the crowd, turning her back for a bit too long and allowing O’Peter to capture her in a Scorpion Deathlock smack dab in the center of the ring. Trapped and with nowhere to go, Matsuda was forced to submit, hurting her ego as much as she hurt her point tally in the tournament. O’Peter really sold her big victory by running outside the ring to celebrate with the fans, many of which seemed to be female as she apparently is able to really connect with that part of the audience. Winner: Cassie O'Peter 34 <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/gGBpOZpmq1U" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> Petter Eriksson makes his entrance next, the big Norwegian clearly not in the best of moods as he grabs a microphone to speak. Erikkson: For a brief moment, I could taste victory. I made a return from behind, against the odds, only for Vidmar to steal my win and the title. And instead of getting a match to rectify that, I’m not even scheduled to wrestle tonight. Instead, I get to watch Nelson Frye and Robert Howard talk their way into another big match, then maybe another title shot… <iframe width="560" height="315" src=" https://www.youtube.com/embed/EjBZJJM20h8" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> Eriksson’s speech is interrupted by the music of Petrov Yakovlev as the Belarussian brawler makes his way to the ring and grabs the mic out of his hand, barking something in his native language that apparently no one in the audience understands. What’s obvious though is the intensity in his tone, the way he seems to be antagonizing Eriksson before the latter gets on the mic again. Eriksson: I was wrestling before you were even born, kid. I kicked your ass back in developmental. I have no problem doing it again. With that, Eriksson drops the mic and returns backstage. 44 INTERMISSION http://49.media.tumblr.com/f253011c31ab6ba74be2c05e2fbc0128/tumblr_o3jqbxBRnY1uctr63o1_500.gif Ryushi Ruysaki vs Tomohiko Yamagata A match in the aftermath of the two men’s defeat against Montero and Bruno during the inaugural RotO show, this one felt pretty personal from the opening bell already. The two Japanese stars did a great job of telling a story about the vicious Ruysaki who’ll stop at nothing to achieve stardom and the humble Yamagata, a man who keeps his head down and works on his craft like no other in order to perfect it. Essentially a clash of character, showmanship and charisma versus pure in-ring skill, this match turned out actually better than might have been expected and in a pretty intense finale, Ruysaki hit a vicious spinning head kick to take his opponent down for the pin. Winner: Ryushi Ruysaki 44 <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Fptue_EaMjw" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> Ryusaki’s music soon changes into AC/DC’s “Hail Cesar” and the Greek Punisher himself walks out to the ring as fans cheer their fellow countryman. Sionis: I’ve made my name in one of the world’s toughest promotions, Australia’s Deep Impact Wrestling. You want to act rough, you get in the ring with me next time. 31 The Gentleman & The Pitbull vs Alberto Montero & Giovanni Bruno The much anticipated main event that was set up during the opening segment did not disappoint, pitting the two-time NGW Tag Team champions against a pair of young prospects that never really got the chance to shine in NGW’s stacked roster before the company stopped putting on shows. Bruno especially brought that Spanish fire and intensity he’s known for, getting the match off to a strong start against The Louisiana Pitbull. Howard was smarter in the way he conducted himself and soon had the upper hand, until a sneaky hair pull from Bruno on the apron turned things around. Not long after, Howard found himself in a 2 on 1 situation on the heels’ corner, with Montero and Bruno using quick tags to always keep the fresh man in and drop a flurry of offense in hopes of chopping the big brawler down. Frye, desperate for the hot tag, tried to rally the fans in support of his teammate and Howard indeed got a burst of energy that saw him come back, however it was not meant to be as Montero cut him off with a desperate tackle before he could tag in the Englishman. Bruno saw his chance and dragged his partner close enough to forcefully tag himself in and take advantage of the fallen Howard before he could recover, much to the fans’ dismay. Slimy as ever, Bruno slapped and taunted his opponent around but it all backfired when apparently something snapped inside Howard, who for a moment seemed completely impervious to pain! Feeding off the blows, Howard got a second wind and knocked down the cocky Italian with a huge headbutt, before stumbling to his corner to finally tag in Frye. The Gentleman took to the ring all fired up but before he could lay it into Bruno, the Lounge Lizard made a cowardly retreat to tag in Montero. Fresher and more experienced, Frye had no problem controlling the match and things came full circle with he tagged in Howard, ending things much like they started as Howard hit the Chaos Theory to pin Montero. Winners: The Gentleman & The Pitbull 49 Show Rating: 48
