You can get a good rating just by putting the best card on rather than giving fans a reason to see the match, which doesn't really reflect real life, bar a certain few examples.

The reason why it was taken out of the game was because it was implied that these cards are promoted anyway, and it would make the game more streamlined if you didn't have to it yourself.

Is there a way to create a company that has realistic/competitive matches that don't force you to choose the result?

Just to clarify what I mean, I'm coming from the perspective of someone who loved the MMA games because you didn't know who was going to win any given match, and thus the game created its own surprises. But what always put me off the TEW titles was that I had to write my own story instead of watching it evolve on its own.

Not really.

It's true that you can just select no winner and the AI will do it for you, but this is based on popularity and stuff like that.

I would say that the odds of an MMA-like "upset" would be incredibly low. As a person that loves the WMMA series, try to enjoy your control over storytelling in wrestling.

 4. No. You could turn off momentum effects and gimmick effects as a slight workaround, though.
 5.
First real disappointment here. Not into this.

I was hoping that the new battles system would at least have some sort of nuance to it besides "Good show good, bad show bad." These things have always been incredibly half baked ideas built upon fairly weak game mechanics. How about just combine the two systems? Because in 2013 the complaint was that main event talent wasn't taken into account, and in 2016 the complaint was that show quality wasn't taken into account.

The only way I could see this actually being a significant fix is if the equations for the final show rating sees an overhaul.

 6. PPA means pay per appearance. Of course if you only use 8 workers at $100 each, it'll be $800. However, it depends on what their downside guarantees are, too, which will pay the worker that amount if they don't appear.

Are you kidding?

TEW is absolutely not a booking simulator. It lacks any ability to contextualize story and nuance as you're suggesting.

 9. Be aware though that the Total Mayhem match is set to be a National match type. If you've dropped to Cult by then, you can't run it. Go in the in-game editor and fix it.

They are set automatically.

You can search for Locker Room Leaders in the Workers screen.

 15. Love the attribute system announcement. Really hope it's as deep as WMMA's. It could really bring a lot of life to every character.

The only real important fight on the card is the main event, really, and it's fairly rare to see a main event tank so hard. Typically momentum, and the title being on the line, is enough to make any main event a decent main event, and the only real situations where it becomes fishy is when you have two foreign guys who have just debuted in the main event.

Hiding somebody’s weaknesses makes for a better match, surely?

Every time I test the match rating, with Protect on a bad worker, is worse with it on than off. I don't think it's worth it for boosting match ratings. I just use it for the very specific case I described earlier when I don't want the winner of a match to gain that much popularity from the victory.

 19.

Road Agent Notes:
What is the difference in 'Keep Strong' and 'Protect'? Is one more ideal for those workers suffering from time decline? Is there a better one for using when you are taking a mid-card title off of someone you are going to push to main event in the near future?

Keep Strong is just that their popularity drop reduces significantly (to, like, nothing). Protect is that they don't lose as much popularity when losing (don't know in comparison to Keep Strong), their weaknesses are hidden, and their potential popularity from winning is decreased. Both ding the match rating.

Here's some other things to consider...

If you're having a worker beat someone more popular than them, and don't want their popularity to shoot up, you can put Protect on the winner so they don't gain that much popularity. You can also put Keep Strong on the loser. Great tactic for getting a title belt off someone more popular than the title's worth, to prevent a never ending cycle of workers getting over because they beat the more popular title holder. There's only one penalty to the match rating, too.

Putting Keep Strong and Protect on the same worker, as I just learned this week, will actually make them more likely to lose a match if they're complaining about the loss.

They have no soul for me since Tommy left.

I think it could be fun to book the promotion exactly like this. Everyone books their promotions as if they're good bookers. How about booking a promotion like you're lost and confused and trying to find your way? How about making really weird decisions that try to relive TCW's past glory, but just come across as lame?
