Roni Jonah is the deciding factor yet again though and a low blow to Sexay on the apron distracts the ref long enough for Miz and @lex to hit a superkick/dragon suplex combo for the pinfall. The match slows slightly as Daniels goes on the attack, working the shoulder of his opponent quite agressively. The Fallen Angel finishes the match with the Angel's Wings to pick up the win. Kennedy and Mysterio go all out to secure a title match with Jericho. Plenty of back and forth with near falls for both men. Kennedy looks to have things won as he attempts a Green Bay Packer but Rey escapes and then counters a charge with a drop toe hold onto the ropes. Kennedy is set up for the 619 but ducks out of the way at the last second. The ref gets bumped by Kennedy who is again knocked down by Rey for the 619. This time it connects and Rey follows up by dropping the Dime... But the ref is still out no pinfall! ey gets up to check on him when Chavo Guerrero runs out and waffles Rey with his Cruiserweight Title. Kennedy sees his chance and crawls over to the ref and akes him in time for him to count the pinfall. Kennedy wins! [I]Ken Kennedy def. Rey Mysterio by pinfall in 13:45[/I] [B]RATING = C+[/B][/CENTER] Kennedy celebrates his win as Chavo gets back into the ring to continue his attack on Rey. The King turns around and decides to join in. Jericho can;t allow this and goes to help when Edge jumps out of the crowd behind the announce table and attacks him. As Jericho and Edge brawl on the outside, the two on one in the ring continues until AJ Styles runs out to even the odds. Jericho and Edge make it into the ring as all six men are now brawling. The faces gain the upper hand and throw Edge, Kennedy and Chavo out of the ring. Styles, Rey and Jericho stand tall in the ring as the show closes. [B]RATING = B-[/B] [B]FINAL RATING = C+[/B] (The main event was a real let down there! Ah well, it wasn't [I]that[/I] bad a result I guess especially with several lower rated matches throughout.) It looked like a stalemate until Matt caught Jeff out of nowhere with the Sideffect and then hit a top rope legdrop for the win. [I]Matt Hardy def. Both men are stacked with potential and showed that they will more than likely be the future of the company. Burke really stepped up his game and matched Punk move for move. It looked like the match could go either way throughout until Punk countered n irish hip and hit Burke with a neckbreaker on the rebound. he trapped his opponent in the Anaconda Vice and, after what seemed like an eternity, Burke had to tap. [I]CM Punk def. Elijah Burke by submission in 18:29[/I] [B]RATING = C+[/B][/CENTER] Punk is celebrating when Umaga comes steaming out from the back and attacks. Armando Estrada walks down to ringside cheering his charge on as he set about destroying the now exhausted CM Punk. It looked like Punk wouldn't be going to No Mercy until Bobby Lashley came running out to his aid, knocking Estrada to the floor as he ran into the ring and fought Umaga off. Lashley helped Punk to his feet as Batista came out to stare down both men. [B]RATING = B-[/B] [B]FINAL RATING = B-[/B] (Hindsight says swap the matches but, nonetheless, I'm pleased with the show. The Elimination Chamber isn't very ECW but then neither is ECW...) The numbers game proved too much of a distraction for the faces, and the referee as well who had a hard time keeping an eye on everyone in and out of the ring. Mark Henry attacked both Super Crazy and Psicosis on the outside at the same time as Roni distracted the referee. Meanwhile, Stephanie slid the US title to MVP who waffled Kane with it and picked up the pin while Miz and Shelley both held onto Kane's feet out of sight of the referee. [I]MVP & S&M def. Both men put on a great match with even action and a crowd cheering every move of Rey and booing every action by Edge. Edge gains the upper hand after counteringa Frankensteiner attmpt into an Electric Chair Drop. Edge doesn't go for the pin though prefering to taunt the crowd and wait to hit Rey with the Spear. His confidence was mispaced though as Rey sidestepped the Spear and sent Edge into the ropes. With Edge hung up, Rey took his chance, hitting the 619 and dropping the dime for the shock win! [I]Rey Mysterio def. Edge by pinfall in 15:52 (Rey Mysterio seemed off his game)[/I] [B]RATING = B[/B][/CENTER] Rey's celebration is short-lived as Edge attacks him from behind. He is soon joined by Chavo in a two-on-one attack. This draws out AJ Styles and Chris Jericho to make the save. Styles runs down to the ring but Jericho is cut off by a clothesline from Ken Kennedy. Without Jericho, Styles finds himself falling victim to the double team as well. Kennedy and Jericho brawl at the top of the ramp as Edge and Chavo put the boots to their victims. He is the here and now! Ric Flair showed why he owns that mountain. Orton had a clear advantage in speed, strength and resiliance but none of that matched up to the sheer wealth of experience in the Nature Boy. Orton had to scramble for the ropes several times as Flair looked to trap him in the figure four just as Flair himself had to always be on guard fior the RKO, which Orton has been known to hit out of nowhere. The crowd were really into the match and really behind Flair when Marcus CorVon came down to ringside. He stood and watched the match as he and Flair traded insults. Flair was now forced to keep an eye on two men at once and Orton took advantage, trapping Flair in a chinlock as CorVon hurled abuse at him. Naitch is the "dirtiest player in the game" though and after struggling to his feet, hit Orton with a mule kick "south of the waistline". He backed off ready to attack again when CorVon tripped him. Flair leant over to yell at him as Orton grabbed the ref's attention. CorVon, pulled Flair down, neck first, accross the rope and the Nature Boy stagered back into an RKO. Orton then went for the academic pinfall. [I]Randy Orton def. Ric Flair by pinfall in 13:56[/I] [B]RATING = B+[/B][/CENTER] Orton holds up the limp body of Ric Flair as CorVon slaps him around. The Alpha Male backs up as Flair looks to be on the receiving end of a Pounce. Just then John Cena come running down. With Orton distracted, Flair rolls out of the way of the Pounce and CorVon ends up launching the Legend Killer through the ropes. Flair then goes on the attack, chopping CorVon to pieces as Cena goes after Orton. The Faces clean house ad send the heels into retreat. the show ends with Flair and Cena standing tall in the ring. [B]RATING = B[/B] [B]FINAL RATING = C+[/B] (Grrr, the good matches were good, but the bad matches were bad which led to a pretty middling rating. The four on two is too much for the faces and they are left beaten down in the ring as Umaga and Batista taunt them. [B]RATING = C-[/B] Paul Heyman comes out to reveal the identity of thr thrid man in the main event. [U]Heyman[/U]: Well, this man needs no real introduction. However I will give him one anyway. This man was with ECW to the end in its last incarnation. He then moved onto success in the WWE as well but eventually he moved on. Now he has returned to the brand he once called home. The brand on which he was champion. The third man is... THE WAR MACHINE, RHYNO!!!! Rhyno storms out to the ring clearly in the mood for a fight. He paces up and down waiting for Striker and Masters. He fights them off though, throwing Striker out of the ring ad then going toe to toe with Masters. The two men brawl around the ring until Striker slides back in and hits a low blow on the Man Beast. Masters must have won the toss as he plants Rhyno with a full-nelson slam and covers. Rhyno didn't return to lose though and kicks out at two. The heels have trouble containing their opponent as he sheer agression throws them off balance. However the numbers advantage allows Masters to lock in the Masterlock. hyno looks to fade as Striker stands in front of him taunting. This enrages the War Machine and he somehow lifts Masters on his back with the Masterlock still aplied and Gores Striker out of his boots! A shocked Masters releases the hold and finds himself thrown over the top rope before Rhyno then covers Striker for three. Rhyno is the final man in the chamber! [I]Rhyno def. Chris Masters & Matt Striker by pinfall in 13:08[/I] [B]RATING = D[/B][/CENTER] Heyman comes into the ring to congratulate Rhyno. [U]Heyman[/U]: Vince? Dave? Looks like we have our six participants. Things start to go pearshaped for the US champ though when the Mexicools regroup and hit Henry with a series of doubleteam moves. A double chopblock takes the legs out from under him and a frogsplash by each man follows. Crazy and Psychosis then pile onto him for the pin to make sure that he doesn't kick out. 1, 2, 3 and MVP has two challengers! [I]The Mexicools def. Montel Vontavious Porter, you will face both Super Crazy and Psychosis in a triple threat match for your United States Title! [B]RATING = C[/B] Jericho and Rey are in back before the match. [U]Jericho[/U]: Two jackasses for the price of one! I guess we should be happy that they only fill up one match with their egos... Edge wants his title back, Kennedy wants... well Kennedy just wants someone to acknowledge him really... [B]RATING = B[/B] Cole and JBL hype the match. Kennedy and Edge squabbled over who started the match and seemed to only make tags when absolutely needed. Jericho and Mysterio were a much more well oiled team. Eventually the heels succeeded in isolating Rey and began wearing down the smallest man in the match. A mix up let .Rey tag Jericho but Kennedy was smart enough to distract the referee who missed the tag and sent Jericho back. As he did so, Kennedy pulled Rey to the top for the Green Bay plunge and Edge slid a chair in for Rey to land on, he the pulled it back out and hit Jericho in the leg to prevent him from getting in to break up the pin.
