April 1996
In recent breaking news we've learned of a brand new Mixed Martial Arts company opening in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The owners have the company promise some of the best competition in the world and plan to one day be the number 1 MMA promotion in the world. More news as it becomes avaliable.
May 1996 The Men Behind Grey Dog MMA
It has been confirmed that the owners of Grey Dog Mixed Martial Arts are non-other than American Millionaire Dean Guest. Guest is a 37 year old ruthless businessman who made his fortune in the oil industry. Guest took over his family's oil company at the young age of 18 and made the millionaire list before he was even old enough to drink. He is quoted as being a true believer in the sport and has dreamed of one day being an owner since MMA was known as a "blood sport". Of course Guest couldn't open the company alone so he brought in another financial backer. Joseph Steven, 25, is a former boxing promoter who is familiar with the life style of such a demanding organization. Steven has excellent business sense and could be a key factor in this companies future. The last co-owner of Grey Dog MMA is a man all to familiar with the sport. Josh Bristow is a former MMA Color Commentator who has expressed intrest more than once in starting up his own promotion. Bristow brings much needed experiance to the table for this company and could very well use his contacts to help bring in some huge names in the business. The Man in charge of booking the shows for Grey Dog MMA is a man we know very little about. Scott Avatar was brought in to give the company a fresh face and be the poster boy for the "youth" the company is going to have. Avatar is the Wild Card is this bunch of management and could single handedly take them to superstardom, or bring them crashing down.
The format for GDMMA is as followed: Match type: Cage If No Decision is acheived by the end of the fight is goes to Judge's Decision Non-Title Matches: 3, 5 minute rounds Title Matches: 5, 5 minute rounds Strikes to a down opponent are: Legal Kicks to the head of a down opponent are: Illegal Knees to the head of a down opponent are: Legal Stomps to a down opponent are: Illegal "Spiking" an opponent onto his head or neck is: Illegal Elbows to the face or head of an opponent are: Legal Weight Classes Lightweight: 130-160 Middleweight: 161-189 Heavyweight: 190-250 Roster and Card Coming Soon...

Shane Gilchrist vs Scott Andrews = Gilchrist will use his striking advantage to score a second round KO. Xie Ming Vs. Grant Coombes = Both will want to stand and trade but Coombes better all-round game will give the win. Coombes will either take Ming out standing or if Ming gets the upper hand standing Coombes will put him on his back and pound him out. Coombes TKO 3. Nicholas Clements Vs. Chris O'Brien = Clements best takedowns are from the clinch which will play into O'Brien's game. O'Brien will fight off Clements takedown attempts and land knees to wear down Clements wins a clear UD. Hiroyoshi Takeda Vs. Romy Alvarez = I'm going to pick him apart standing and after wearing him down get the clinch and finish the fight in the second with knees.
