I really like the new negotiation feature. One of my complaints about the old ways was that it really boiled down to matching what the wrestler said...there was no negotiation. You either gave him exactly what he wants or don't sign him. With the new feature it sounds like there are actual negotiations. Would you take less money per appearance but a bigger downside guarantee? Stuff like that makes the game more dynamic. I'm really looking forward to tomorrow's trial release.

This sucks. I just remembered that it's just the demo being released tommorrow. Not the game. And now with no more journal updates coming up next week, waiting for the full version will be hell. Unless Adam makes it so that the game clock can be altered in the demo and I can actually try out my 1997 mod in the trial version. But I doubt it very much. Well, I guess I can wait a week longer.

Then run a month with that data, and while the date will be off you can still check how everything works.

You know you can set the date by going into "database info" and the Demo goes over the trial editor, so as long as your data is in a different folder from the default and its set to start in 1997, then I don't see why you can't try it for an in-game month....?

Hmm. I do remember trying to do that with my 2002 game in the last TEW and it didn't work. But maybe I missed something. I'll try that tommorrow, thanks for informing me! :)

The last entry was definitely [I][B][U]NOT[/U][/B][/I] a mediocre feature. The negotiations did need an overhaul and I'm happy Adam has addressed it - because it was flawed. I didn't expect this to be the last feature but I'm impressed and happy. :) I say we somehow move Arlie's clock forward 24 hours and he'll think it's June 1st and will release the game now. ;) Oh, Jobby McJobberson should make an appearance in the CornellVerse, Adam. I would sign him for sure.

I've played TEW 2007, WRESpi, WRESPI 2, and WMMMA but haven't been a regular poster here on the forums. But with TEW 2008, quite literaly nearly here I just wanted to join the excitement, I've counted down the journal entries with everyone else, and been seriously logging onto the site twice a day for the last month. What makes this exciting is not just that its an improvement and sounds like a great step forward for an already peerless game, but the fact that GDS and ADAM have built on the creativity in the community. The fact that they have offered and accepted feed back, that Adam has been available on some issues, and has recognised the value of all of those within the TEW playing community who put together their own Mods, or Cuts or Logos and renders. As someone who plays without the talent to do any of those things, I'm just going to congratulate Adam on what looks set to be a great game, and congratulate all of you who by playing or modding or being on these forums have contributed, Just my bits worth.

[/QUOTE] Does this mean that you can negotiate with anyone no matter how large/small of a company you are? In the sense that no one can turn you away saying that "You aren't big enough" and will at least listen to an offer? If so, then I'm in love with the new feature! This makes it so you can possibly land a momentum shifting superstar for your promotion where as in the past they would have said no right away. Like if you're a cult company can you still negotiate with a guy who may be an A for popularity? He would just have a lower patience level so you really have to get it right on the first try? Just thought i'd ask! This game is going to own my life! haha. I can't wait to take hold of SWF (hence, my name on the boards here). Cheers.

It wouldn't be realistic or a good game feature :confused: It's the same as before, if you blow the negotiation then you have to wait a while before you can attempt it again.
