NWA TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

'The Ring King' Jeff Jarrett v AJ Styles (B- heat)

I can see AJ taking Jeff to the limit, several near falls, but Jarrett will hold the title for a while - maybe to the end of the year (or a winter SUPER card against Sting). His clause will prevent most from taking the belt

TNA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Steve Corino v Rey Mysterio Jr (D+)

Corino continues to be a solid champion and one of the most consistent on your roster.

NWA TNA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

Caribbean Cool v Beer Money (D-)

Carlito has been off his game - hope he finds it soon and does not get drug tested!!

TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP

Mystery v Battle royal winner (D-)

Mystery has really struggled since winning the title - maybe having a hard time adjusting to being the hunted instead of the hunter. If he doesn't have a break out match here and return to form, his days as champ could be numbered. This is do or die for Mystery!!

TNA LADIES CHAMPIONSHIP

Amy Dumas v Mickie James (F+)

keep searching to find someone to carry a match

'THE ROAD TO JARRETT PART THREE'

Sting v Sheik Abdul Bashir (D)

nice match for the slumping Sheik, but he proves to be just another pothole in the Road to Jarrett

NUMBER ONE CONTENDERSHIP TO WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

Abyss v Keiji Sakoda (D)

another squash for Abyss

NUMBER ONE CONTENDERSHIP TO NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Marc Mero v Seaman Stains (D-)

let's see how well Stains does in a title match

NUMBER ONE CONTENDERSHIP TO TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

Spank Wang v Spanish Announce Team (E+)

this would set up SAT against CC - maybe need a special referee who speaks Spanish. I think the finish comes when they slam Wang thru the Japanese Announcer's table.

X DIVISION BATTLE ROYAL, WINNER GETS TITLE SHOT LATER IN THE NIGHT

Amazing Red, American Dragon, Frank, Frankie Kazarian, Homicide, 'Preacher' Christopher Daniels, Rocky Romero, Psicosis, Super Crazy & Super Dragon (D)

oh my, so many choices....what a tough decision!!!! I'm expecting a doozy of a match, lots of high spots - maybe a couple new stars or at least mid-card feuds will emerge from it all. Maybe it comes down to Daniels and Crazy

NWA TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

'The Ring King' Jeff Jarrett v AJ Styles (B- heat)

AJ Styles needs to win the title as Jarrett's held it for too long.

TNA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Steve Corino v Rey Mysterio Jr (D+)

Mysterio's a superior talent by far and needs to win the title.

NWA TNA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

Caribbean Cool v Beer Money (D-)

Beer Money are a great tag team and will be tremendous Champions.

TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP

Mystery v Battle royal winner (D-)

I think Amazing Red will win the Battle Royal and then the title.

TNA LADIES CHAMPIONSHIP

Amy Dumas v Mickie James (F+)

Mickie James is a better wrestler than Amy Dumas.

'THE ROAD TO JARRETT PART THREE'

Sting v Sheik Abdul Bashir (D)

My guess is that Bashir will stop Sting in his path.

NUMBER ONE CONTENDERSHIP TO WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

Abyss v Keiji Sakoda (D)

Abyss is a better wrestler and will be a huge star. He needs to win here.

NUMBER ONE CONTENDERSHIP TO NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Marc Mero v Seaman Stains (D-)

Seaman Stains is a comedy gimmick at best, Mero has talent.

NUMBER ONE CONTENDERSHIP TO TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

Spank Wang v Spanish Announce Team (E+)

Spank Wang are an innovative tag team and can have good matches.

X DIVISION BATTLE ROYAL, WINNER GETS TITLE SHOT LATER IN THE NIGHT

Amazing Red, American Dragon, Frank, Frankie Kazarian, Homicide, 'Preacher' Christopher Daniels, Rocky Romero, Psicosis, Super Crazy & Super Dragon (D) Amazing Red is a great talent, would be top Champ.

NUMBER ONE CONTENDERSHIP TO LADIES CHAMPIONSHIP

Lou Fisto v Gail Kim (F)

Gail Kim's a great Womens Wrestler and can carry the entire division.

Few wee bits...

Jarrett's held the title for under 2 months in his current reign Destiny. That is too long?

Olympia, you've missed off your prediction for Lou Fisto v Gail Kim

Finally, a teaser of sorts, two matches on the Night of Champions card are going to change. One is my choice, one is being enforced. In addition, one winner I planned is now going to lose instead.

TNA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Pretty much what Olympia said, he should keep his title because he has been a great champion for you thus far.

NWA TNA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

Caribbean Cool v Beer Money (D-)

TNA LADIES CHAMPIONSHIP

Sting v Sheik Abdul Bashir (D)

NUMBER ONE CONTENDERSHIP TO WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

Abyss v Keiji Sakoda (D)

My only wish is that you do not turn Abyss into a total waste like he is in real life. Man do I hate it when he claps, that just annoys the s**t out of me.

NUMBER ONE CONTENDERSHIP TO NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Marc Mero v Seaman Stains (D-)

NUMBER ONE CONTENDERSHIP TO TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

Spank Wang v Spanish Announce Team (E+)

Explosion

Tuesday, week 3, August 2004

McIlroy Auditorium, Waterloo, IA.

AJ Styles comes out to a good reception, followed by NWA TNA Champion Jeff Jarrett, to a chorus of boos. A table and two chairs is set up in the ring. The two sign a contract for their World Championship match at Night of Champions 3 before having a final exchange of words where Jarrett again calls Styles a "snot nosed punk kid" only for AJ to remind Jarrett who the longest reigning World and X Division Champion is. The segment passes without physical altercation but with a lot of tension. C-

Briscoe Brothers v Slickers

The Briscoes got back on the winning track by defeating one of the newer teams in TNA in a match that won't be long remembered, although it was adequate for an opener. The end came in 6:52 when Jay Briscoe defeated Slyk Wagner Brown by pinfall with a Briscoe Bashed. D

Steve Corino attacks Rey Mysterio Jr backstage, then lifts him up easily and hurls him head-first into the side of the production truck, lawn-dart style. Rey is seriously hurt and requires medical attention. E+

Amy Dumas & Gail Kim v Lou Fisto & Mickie James

The ladies do what the ladies have been doing in TNA since day one. They are they so I don't have any women's rights groups suing TNA for sexual discrimination. It's not a long match, so the show can move on after in 7:42 when Amy Dumas defeated Mickie James by pinfall with a Lita Bomb. E

A music video is shown to promote Keiji Sakoda. D-

NWA TNA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

Caribbean Cool (champions) v Cocky Connection

The best team (currently) in TNA versus probably the team with the worst record in TNA. The result was predictable, Caribbean Cool win easily, and they win quickly. Problem is, the wrestling needs to pick up later in the show or it will be as bad as the Puerto Rico debut three weeks ago. The champs retain in 2:47 when Colt Cabana defeated Jimmy Rave by pinfall with a Coolness Personified. Caribbean Cool make defence number 2 of their NWA TNA Tag Team titles. D-

Harley Race is in the ring and demands the crowd's attention. Race then introduces his client Abyss and explains to the crowd the power of the monster and how he will decimate Keiji Sakoda at Night of Champions 3 to earn a World Championship match. Thankfully this did not bomb like last time when Race was fully involved. C-

TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP

Mystery (champion) v 'Preacher' Christopher Daniels

This match looked awkward and as a result again a Mystery title defence disappoints. He's going to have to buck up his ideas or he won't be champion for much longer. The match is an even affair, just not overly exciting and Mystery keeps his belt in 16:29 by pinfall with a Moonsault Press. Mystery makes defence number 4 of his TNA X Division title. D

Ken Shamrock is in the ring where he talks up his forthcoming MMA match against Kimo Leopoldo, of which tna.com will have a live feed. C+

Abyss & Homicide v Keiji Sakoda & Seaman Stains

A disappointing night of wrestling continues with this tag team match. Abyss is the strongest in this match, largely having his way with the opposition and earning victory in 10:35 when Abyss defeated Seaman Stains by pinfall with The Black Hole. D

A music video is shown to promote Psicosis. C-

Ken Shamrock & Sting v Doug Williams, Frank & Sheik Abdul Bashir

Shamrock looks really good in this match, as the experience and superior ability of he and Sting is enough to overcome the numbers of Jarrett's World Order. JWO haven't looked as dominant as they used to be, with the exception of Jarrett and Corino racking up the wins, the rest have been somewhat disappointing. Shamrock gets he and Sting the win in 16:33 when Ken Shamrock defeated Doug Williams by submission with an Ankle Lock. Finally a good match. C-

Sting is in the ring following the match when a masked attacker hits the ring and leaves Sting down and out. Logic would say it was Sheik Abdul Bashir, but he's just competed in the same match as Sting... C

'The Ring King' Jeff Jarrett & Steve Corino v AJ Styles & Rey Mysterio Jr

When Rey's music plays, Mysterio is nowhere to be seen following Corino's vicious attack earlier. Jarrett and Corino stand in the ring laughing at AJ who looks like he will have to face them on his own. Mark Johnson is about to ring the bell when Potter's music hits and out walks the former authority figure and two time NWA TNA Champion. He tells Corino that he won't let him get away with such a cheap trick. He's going to team with AJ tonight, and what's more, he's going to face him for the National Championship at Night of Champions 3. Corino is beside himself as the bell rings. The match is a good one, with plenty of tagging, near falls and dirty tactics from JWO. It's these dirty tactics that lead to the match conclusion. With AJ down thanks to a low blow, Jarrett and Corino double team Potter which leads to the finish in 26:38 when 'The Ring King' Jeff Jarrett defeated Potter by pinfall with The Stroke. This might have just saved the show from being a disaster. C+

I know, it's tough, but Mexico is his homeland at the end of the day and CMLL are top dogs there, so can't complain at him.

Potter taking his place against Corino is very much plugging the gap. Shamrock wouldn't fit going from World title picture down to National straight away, and the other significant faces all have matches set up.

sometimes the top champ (or former) can slum and go after a lower title.

I remember World champ Ric Flair taking on US champ Greg Valentine - and only the US title was on the line.

sometimes, it's a way to give some rub to the lower title. But good to have a solid performer like Potter to step in and help avert a possible crisis

Oh for gods sakes.

I wrote out the majority of the show, and my internet went.

I then wrote out a shorter version of the show, and I ****ed up myself and lost it all.

As I have now advanced to the main booking screen for the next day, and I'm also getting short on time, I'll only be able to post up a short version. Sorry all, it's a lot less than what you guys and the show deserves. :(

<p><strong>Explosion</strong></p><p>

Tuesday, week 4, August 2004</p><p>

Baker Stadium, Tacoma, WA.</p><p> </p><p>

Ken Shamrock comes out and talks about his recent MMA fight win. He then says how his focus has returned to TNA and he wants to talk about the World Championship. He knows Jarrett said he won't get another shot, but Shamrock has other plans by earning that shot by winning the Regal Rumble. Jarrett comes out and tells Shamrock he has no chance. He won't get another shot, but Jarrett is a fair man. Shamrock can earn his chance, he will compete in a Regal Rumble qualifier tonight against... AJ Styles. Shamrock is livid, but before he can do anything Abyss' music hits and he walks out with Harley Race. Race tells Jarrett he is overlooking something, he first has to beat Abyss at Regal Rumble to remain the champion, and unlike those "snot nosed punk kids" Jarrett has been facing of late, Abyss is a monster. Abyss stands over Jarrett as Race says this and Jarrett looks a little intimidated. <strong>C-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Psicosis v Spanky</strong></p><p>

A very good match to kick off Explosion this week. Both men put on a show for the fans and the later matches will have to go some to be able to top this. A fast paced match was stole by Psicosis in 15:47 by pinfall with a handful of tights. <strong>B-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Doug Williams & Frank v Chico & The Man</strong></p><p>

Not surprisingly, this couldn't match the high standard set by the opener. It wasn't a bad match, and had this opened the show, nobody could have complained about it. The JWO pairing looked more solid than their opponents and emerged victorious in 7:55 when Doug Williams defeated Matt Cappotelli by pinfall with a Chaos Theory. <strong>D+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Steve Corino is in the backstage area. He says he is facing Keiji Sakoda tonight. Too bad Sakoda... last week I took out Rey Mysterio Jr, this week I will take you out. <strong>C</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Sting v Scotty Riggs</strong></p><p>

Sting was dominant over his far less illustrious opponent and squashed him in 1:47 by pinfall with a Scorpion Death Drop. <strong>D+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Spanky talks about his match against Psicosis earlier. While he was pleased that he put in a very good performance and they put on a very good match, he is downheartened by his defeat as he hasn't had much in the way of victory of late. <strong>C-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Abyss v Tony Mamaluke</strong></p><p>

Oh dear, this was one to forget. Abyss was much the stronger but the match wasn't as he won in 5:47 by pinfall with The Black Hole. <strong>D-</strong></p><p>

Harley Race then gets in the ring and tells Jeff Jarrett that he has just witnessed how dominant Abyss can be and that is what he has to, ahem, look forward to, at Regal Rumble. <strong>C-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Regal Rumble Qualifier</strong></p><p><strong>

Potter v Sheik Abdul Bashir</strong></p><p>

A good match between two guys who have become reliable members of the roster. Bashir rarely gave a bad match while X Division Champion while Potter seems to be able to put on a match with whomever his opponent is. Here, he gets the better of Bashir as his technical wrestling overcomes Bashir, though Bashir will have his day. Potter qualifies for the Rumble in 14:54 by submission with a Sharpshooter. <strong>C</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Sting speaks, expressing his despair at Corino for taking out Rey Mysterio Jr last week and stating his intention for doing the same to Keiji Sakoda this week. He says that those two guys were two of the future for TNA. If Jeff Jarrett can't control Corino, then Sting will have to do something about it himself. <strong>C+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>TNA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP</strong></p><p><strong>

Steve Corino (champion) v Keiji Sakoda</strong></p><p>

Corino makes fairly easy work of Sakoda, just two days after Sakoda had been defeated by Abyss at Night of Champions 3. Corino is never really troubled in the match and caps off a good performance in 8:37 by pinfall with an Old School Expulsion. Steve Corino makes defence number 15 of his TNA National title. <strong>C-</strong></p><p>

Corino is not done with Sakoda. He nails him with a couple of stiff shots before he battles him up the entrance ramp. Sakoda tries a comeback but it barely fazes Corino. Corino then hauls up Sakoda and throws him off the stage to the floor before. Sakoda isn't moving as Corino gloats on the stage. <strong>C-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Regal Rumble Qualifier</strong></p><p><strong>

AJ Styles v Ken Shamrock</strong></p><p>

Another good match and one where both were vying for fan support, superiority and a place in the Regal Rumble. The back swung back and forth, as AJ's aerial ability and Shamrock's hybrid style contradicted each other and made for an interesting mix and a match where the outcome could not be predicted. Things became more predictable when Jeff Jarrett and Steve Corino showed up. While Corino distracted Mark Johnson, Jeff Jarrett sneaked into the ring with his guitar and nailed Shamrock over the head with it. AJ reluctantly grabbed hold of Shamrock and hit the Styles Clash in 30:57 to win. That's twice now in recent times that AJ has won thanks to Jarrett. <strong>C+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Steve Corino v <strong>Seaman Stains</strong> (D+)</p><p>

I like Corino as champ. I can see him having a long run. But he seems distracted lately - focusing a lot on JWO business and jeff. That could come back to hurt him here if he takes Stains for granted. I could see Seaman as a transitional champion to someone (maybe monty or abyss or even Sheik Bashir). Corino won't stay down long either way</p><p> </p><p>

NWA TNA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP</p><p>

<strong>Caribbean Cool</strong> v Spanish Announce Team (E+)</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP</p><p>

<strong>Mystery</strong> v Sheik Abdul Bashir (D+)</p><p>

Mystery had a passable match agaisnt Super Crazy, so he may to hold the title another day. He better step up his A game against the former champ - and then these two could have a good one. Another "d" defense, and his days as champ are numbered.</p><p> </p><p>

TNA LADIES CHAMPIONSHIP</p><p>

<strong>Amy Dumas </strong>v Lou Fisto (E-)</p><p> </p><p>

'THE ROAD TO JARRETT PART FOUR'</p><p>

<strong>Sting </strong>v Frank (D)</p><p>

I agree with BHK - sting moves on up the road. </p><p> </p><p>

REGAL RUMBLE (D)</p><p>

Competitors include</p><p>

1. AJ Styles</p><p>

2. <strong>'Alpha Male' Monty Brown</strong></p><p> </p><p>

several ways to go with this one. I'll pick Monty - if for only reason he hasn't done too much yet. This might help elevate him some. Potter or Quackenbrush would be other good choices as this is a good chance to give a lesser guy a little boost.</p>
