Hah, this reminds me of Ross from Friends. Anyway, good for him and hopefully this one is the good one and sticks. Maybe he was the problem all along, ha.</p>

Idiot, four times, didn't he just get a divorce too?

He's an idiot who should fire his representation. They're not giving him proper advice. He's already paying alimony to three wives. That means his lawyer's not worth crap (my lawyer won't even let me get engaged without a signed prenup delivered to him). But Ric getting married at all, given his lifestyle, is beyond stupid.

Pre-nups expire after a certain amount of time (5 or 10 years I believe)

And maybe Ric DOES have a good lawyer and so his alimony is really low and/or prenups all the way.

I doubt he'd go through one divorce, lose half his stuff and NOT get a pre-nup the next 2,3 or 4 times around.

Might wanna do some research on it. Ric Flair is one of the major cautionary tales used to prove how broken the community property statutes are in this country. His third marriage barely lasted a full two years. Why's he paying the wench alimony?

Having to pay alimony at all is a sign of moronic representation. Your attorney's job is to advise you in these situations. Your financial advisor tends to have information on protecting your assets in any situation that might threaten them (marriage is one). Whenever two people from disparate financial situations choose to wed, the more stable side's advisors are supposed to do their freakin' jobs. A smart prenup does not include an alimony clause because short-term alimony clauses can be disputed and stricken far too easily in many jurisdictions.

Regardless, in this day and age, a man being stuck with alimony (of ANY amount) for multiple wives, is stupid in my view. And if his alimony wasn't that much, why couldn't he have retired years ago? The alimony and the back taxes broke his back financially....so you solve that by adding another possible liability to your balance sheet?

Yeah, that sounds like a stroke of genius. Just like being in dire financial straits, having to continue to work, and opening a financial advisory firm (which he did also and as you might expect, the business didn't last a year). Flair isn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed.

Well, hopefully there won't be a need for it. But if you're the one providing for whatever lifestyle she has, once it's over, there's no need for her to continue to have it. As long as you're taking care of your responsibilities (i.e. kids), that's where it should end.

And the same should go if it's the other way around. If she's richer than you, why should you benefit from it once you're no longer together? That's just crazy.
