I believe the very first mention of the Shakeup they stated that it was a trade not a draft but they've been sketchy about it every since. Probably a combination of Vince's indecsision and wanting people to tune in to find out what the hell is going on LOL.

If Smackdown get Asuka and DIY soon then I think they did better then Raw in the Shakeup. Not that it matters really because I trust Smackdown to handle their talent better (except the tag division which has been poorly handled the last few months).

Nakamura is already over and they aren't wasting him on squash matches. They are playing to his strengths -- entrance and charisma. After he murks Ziggler he'll be ready for a big feud.

I want to like Crews and I know he was popular in the indies but he's only ever been a spot monkey in WWE. He wrestles short matches with next to no psychology or storytelling. Not sure if that's WWE's fault or they are just working around his limitations.

Slater & Rhyno were the first SD tag champs as well. It's not much, but better than nothing like the others have.

The best part was John Cone tumbling out of the ring. Me and my friend laughed every time they showed a replay of it.

Personally, the best part for me was when Braun Strowman got up. That's the moment that made me realize that he could and should be a world champion. You don't just get up from a ring collapse like that, you have to be superhuman to do so.

In short, Braun Strowman for Universal Champion.

If somebody had said that a year ago they would have been crucified on this forum! I've been insanely out of the loop but has Braun improved that much in the ring?

Best case scenario is Strowman beats Reigns in a Last Man Standing match then he loses against Lesnar. Then Reigns beats Strowman in a rematch and goes on to beat Lesnar at SummerSlam. Although there's a rumor Vince wants Lesnar to hold the title until he drops it to Reigns at next year's Wrestlemania which would be a terrible mistake. That's not the good type of long term booking.

But I agree, Strowman should be a champ in 2017, whether it's Universal or IC.

A while ago, I started making 'highlight videos' out of the small highlight clips that WWE upload of Raw and SmackDown! to YouTube. It's just a nice way to get the highlights in one sitting instead of clicking from video to video on YouTube (especially as I watch on my TV). Thought I'd share them here (and will continue to share them if you guys think it's worthwhile). They are viewable in browswer via Openload.co:

2017/04/18 - WWE SmackDown! Live

I'm open to suggestions on improving anything or what not, or a better host. Hope someone finds this as useful as I do.

*** Note, mods if you don't want me to sharing these, please just let me know. I don't consider it piracy, as all it is the videos that WWE themselves upload to an open platform, spliced together into one 'episode', but I'd understand if you don't like it. ***

RIP Rosey. I didn't know he was Roman's brother. Had a lot of fun watching him. He'll be remembered well. Never watched his 3MW stuff but I might get to that now. He'll always be S.H.I.T to me. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

This opinion is probably unpopular, but I'm in on Jinder as #1 contender. It was a 6-man match, where really anything can happen, with no one who has been booked particularly strongly. I think the (kayfabe) omission of Baron Corbin is an oversight, but taking it from a strictly kayfabe standpoint, it's entirely believable that Jinder could've won that match, especially with help from two guys.

As for the non-kayfabe standpoint, screw it. It's something different. It's a breath of fresh air. There's like 85 PPVs per year, I'm down with someone random getting a push. I don't know enough about Jinder to like or dislike him, but I'm interested to see how he does with his shot at the belt. It can't be any worse than another Ziggler title shot, at least in terms of the promos beforehand. I don't mean to take away from Dolph in the ring. I'm cautiously optimistic toward the whole thing.

EDIT: Oh, and to add (nominally) to a previous discussion: YES to Strowman winning the belt. I've been a big fan of his for quite a while now - I think he's exactly the type of big man that WWE has been looking for for a long time.

Not the strongest Smackdown but for me it had a lot of merit.

People complain about a lack of surprises and treating half the midcarders like jobbers the last few years instead of building the undercard from the bottom up. I like WWE taking time to put over Mahal and The Colons. It can only benefit the Smackdown in the long run.

It's just a shame Rusev wasn't available because a Rusev/Orton match would be pretty cool.

Once Orton's done with Mahal, Rusev should be the next person he faces. That, or Zayn. Whichever comes first.
