<p><strong>UK Show:</strong></p><p> </p><p>

- Opening match was a bit boring but Wolfgang's selling was solid.</p><p>

- Tag match was fun.</p><p>

- Dunne vs Seven and Bate vs Andrews were both great. Dunne is a nasty piece of gear and one of the best heels in the world right now.</p><p>

- The Nigel/JR combo was good. The presentation was lower quality than the Tournament show.</p><p>

- They should really just do a monthly show with touring instead of a weekly show.</p>

At least when I play TEW, my battle royales usually has a stake or a prize for the winner. Mojo beats Jinder twice in the same week, hey remember when Mojo won the Andre the Giant Battle Royal, because WWE sure doesnt. And all because Vince realized even after Khali that "oh my ggoodess we have a fanbase in India!"<p><a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2017_05/1pfy7f.jpg.0661c66c84a43d2f890bc099210e68dd.jpg" data-fileid="3300" data-fileext="jpg" rel=""><img data-fileid="3300" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt="1pfy7f.jpg.0661c66c84a43d2f890bc099210e68dd.jpg" data-src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2017_05/1pfy7f.jpg.0661c66c84a43d2f890bc099210e68dd.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></a></p>

<p><strong>NXT Takeover Chicago:</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Young vs Strong</strong> - Good match. Roddy is finally getting over. Interested to see what they do with Sanity now with Young on a losing streak.</p><p>

<strong>Dunne vs Bate</strong> - MOTN and MOTY Contender. I was surprised by the title change but with the weekly show in limbo it made sense to pull the trigger.</p><p>

<strong>Nikki vs Ruby vs Asuka</strong> - Good match but a Fatal 4-Way would have been better. Asuka has to lose to Ember in Brooklyn surely.</p><p>

<strong>Itami vs Roode</strong> - Great match, the best either have had in NXT. Loved the injury selling and multiple finishers to put Itami down.</p><p>

<strong>DIY vs AOP</strong> - MOTY Contender. DIY are/were the best babyface tag team in the world. AOP are also improving with every big match. The Ciampa heel turn was a shock (wasn't expecting it with the injury rumors). And after Gargano took a ladder to the chin for him <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> I hope they make peace after an epic feud so we get them on the main roster as a tag team.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Verdict:</strong> One of the best Takeover events ever. Props to the hot crowd.</p>

Paige never dropped the title to anyone before she got called up....it was probably a big thank you for having to carry Summer Rae in the ring for half year but still lol.</p><p> </p><p> Also I loved how unexpected that Heel Turn was even though the wrestling fan in me hates the Ciampa character for doing it. That ending graphic was very well placed and managed to swerve me a guy who has been watching wrestling for many many years.</p><p> </p><p> That was beautiful booking and I love the tandom of DIY but the string of matches we are going to see in this rivalry is going to be fantastic. I hope they do eventually get back together but I'm excited with the next few months.</p>

Takeover was awesome, it had almost everything I would want in a wrestling show. Drama, long term story arcs, characters, heel champions who can still win fair and square and shocks. Bate vs Dunne for the UK championship could very well be match of the year under the WWE banner and this show could very well be their best show too. It was so good that, as has been pointed out elsewhere, we didn't even get a CM Punk chant from the Chicago crowd until there was a Go To Sleep done... which is fair. Just goes to show what happens when you put on a show that actually caters to what the fans want, which I know is far more difficult on the main roster.

The UK show was also very good, once again for Tyer Bate and Pete Dunne stealing the show in their respective matches. Bate has the makings of the next HBK or AJ Styles in that it seems like he will be able to have a great match with anyone and will hopefully grow into the mic work too. Dunne is an amazing heel, the sheer thuggishness of his character work is fantastic and I can't wait to see more of both guys in the future. Their rematch should be put on the main show at Summerslam, they've more than earned a major spot on a major show from their performances so far. :)

<p><strong>Backlash:</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Ziggler vs Nakamura</strong> - Solid match. Should have been better. I put the blame on the match booker not the performers.</p><p>

<strong>Breezango vs Usos</strong> - Most entertaining match of the show <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p>

<strong>Zayn vs Corbin</strong> - Solid match. Zayn winning was a surprise.</p><p>

<strong>6 Woman Tag</strong> - OK match. They have to push all the heels at once because none of them stand out. They need to turn Charlotte and call up Asuka soon.</p><p>

<strong>Styles vs Owens</strong> - Good match. Thought the finish was smart.</p><p>

<strong>Harper vs Rowan</strong> - Pre-show material. Rowan is interesting in segments but boring in the ring.</p><p>

<strong>Mahal vs Orton</strong> - Sold match. Orton throwing the Singhs around and getting caught was the best part (although he botched one throw badly). I'm glad they took a chance on Mahal. Orton as champ just wasn't working.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Verdict:</strong> Mediocre PPV with no memorable matches. After Takeover being awesome it was like watching an average 3 hour Raw.</p>

I can't wait for all the Jinderella Story merchandise and memes to begin. :D

That was a fun show, but as has already been mentioned there was nothing that stood out as being awesome. It wasn't bad, it wasn't good, it seems like it was just there to carry on some storylines since only the Orton vs Jinder match had any real possible payoff behind it. That said, I guess I'm looking forward to the future. Don't hinder Jinder! :p

After seeing that spoiler I had to go and watch that match....I'm shocked WWE actually knows how to roll the dice on someone new <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/eek.png.0e09df00fa222c85760b9bc1700b5405.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />. Jinder Mahaal looks like a monster! How did he get ripped like that?

<p>#Jindermania is running wild brother!</p><p> </p><p>

This is easily the greatest turn-around for any wrestler I've ever seen. The fact that even WWE mentioned that it was hell freezing over makes it even more amazing.</p><p> </p><p>

I sincerely hope Jinder goes on to shock the world and have a long and successful reign with the title, and I mean it.</p>

I saw this coming for a while now. But I don't think Jinder will go far, at least from what I see so far. He defs does not have "It." It was not a PPV with any outstanding moment. The Nakamura match was so meh, after all the hype. Zain vs Corbin wasn't that big of a deal either, Orton vs. Mahal...meh, Styles vs. Owens was good, but nothing more, Harper vs. Rowan was not even worth it of the main show. And I still don't know why they went with this women's match for the PPV. Overall, mediocre PPV without any exciting moments. It's that stuff you can say it's not bad, but defs not good either. The most entertaining stuff of the night was the tag match. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Watched the Backlash event yesterday but it felt lackluster over the whole spectrum. Even AJ vs KO, which should've been epic, felt mediocre compared to what could've been. And that finish... come on... like mentioned earlier in this thread, the title "PPV" doesn't mean sh/t if its name is not SS (2x), WM or RR.

And if you claim it's better than RAW, I probably won't even bother. Unless Emma's back, of course. :-)

Honestly I know when I watch WWE every time they have a Heel win the King of the ring it is an excuse to give that Heel "The King" gimmick. for heel....face victory meh

yes! and I don't so much mind Jinder Mahal if they plan to keep him with the title for longer than a Bray Wyatt win. Just at this moment if they give him a month long reign or even 2 months, I don't think it would do him any favors for his career. Win the title and back to jobbing and being a circus act, like it hasn't already happened to so many others before.

But it was also the way of it too. They were building a good feud with Mojo and Jinder there, something where Mojo could be given a title shot for the battle royale win but Jinder getting involved and having a match with Mojo and the winner gets the opportunity. They sort of did that with the 6way, but didn't really do it because of the battle royale, just "we need 6 guys stat!"

and Andre the Giant battle royale may not grant championship contentions, but the last few have helped make new stars. Cesaro won the first one and he's been solid, same can be said for Baron Corbin, but Mojo has barely had a match since the battle royale. Not like I'm a huge fan of his but he's just been swept under the rug as of late.
