The Official WWE / NXT Discussion Thread *May Contain Spoilers*

Watched the latest PPV. Wasn't as good as in 2012 imo, but I guess it was watchable.

Funny how people are trying to make sense of the show. You still don't get it: WWE and rationality are not exactly going hand to hand. :p Coming from half a year of not watching (or watching MMA), I had loads of trouble adjusting to the apparent non-realistic style of pro wrestling. Think SWF in the '90s. :D

NXT Highlights:

- Rusev went beast mode, destroying Amore, Cassidy and his own manager Sylvester Leforte.

- Aiden English was impressive again, beating athletic debutant Jason Jordan. The crowd threw roses in the ring during his singing encore.

- Paige & Summer had a mediocre match (and a brawl involving Emma & Sasha) but the NXT divas are still more developed and entertaining than their main roster counterparts (excluding AJ).

- Breeze vs Parker - Good feud. Decent match. Regal, Saxton and Renee did a good job putting over their characters.

Verdict: Filler episode. Light on star power with Dallas and Zayn on tour with the main roster during this filming. Also they spent a quarter of the run-time on Raw highlights and Survivor Series promos.

Smackdown Review:

Ambrose & Rollins vs Usos - Nice change up of the Shield team. Good match, with the Usos going over clean.

Cena promo - The World Heavyweight Champ is here! The Real Americans came out. Zeb thanked him for sending Del Rio packing, insulted the crowd and tried to recruit Cena. Cena launched into a mostly funny promo. Sandow was out next, vowing to end the Cena Era in WWE at all costs. Good segment for everyone involved.

PTP vs Wyatts - Decent match. The Wyatt Family are being booked better now.

Natalya & Bellas vs AJ, Tamina & Fox - This was actually a decent match. Tamina looked badass and AJ tapped to the Sharpshooter.

Cena & Rhodes Bros vs Sandow & Real Americans - Match of the show. Nice to see a fresh lineup for the SD main event. Cena and Cesaro need to feud for the title after he's finished with Del Rio and Sandow.

Verdict: Good show. The WHC title and the tag division were in the spotlight. Cena on Smackdown is good for business if they keep using him this well.

You recap SD, but don't make a mention of Roman Reigns wanting to take on 3 guys by himself?

Dude is a total boss and his eventual feud with Ambrose will be great.

I can imagine Rollins and Reigns doing well as a face tag team and then getting solo pushes, with Ambrose staying heel. But it won't happen until the Wyatt Family are over enough to replace the Shield.

They made it clear, if not for his team mates holding him back, he would have definitely took on all three of them at the same time. JBL was good on commentary during that whole thing as well "Let him go, this is great, look how tough Roman Reigns is."

Just felt like this could be a set up to him leaving the group because they don't believe in themselves anymore and holding him back (literally as well). I felt like this isn't supposed to make Reigns very happy with him, and is probably seeds being planted for their break up/implosion.

@milamber: I think the Wyatt's are popular enough, the problem is that everyone only knows "Wyatt" as a name for the group. Shield had the same problem... and still does to be honest. In fact... Probably Bray Wyatt is just as popular as any one of the Shield members as of right now.

@Rickymex, that gif is awesome!

@djthefunkchris, obviously the plan to is to use Bryan and Punk to get the the Wyatts over at Survivor Series (and TLC probably). They are more unique than the Shield thanks to Bray but weaker in the ring as a unit. Fingers crossed they get a good reaction against the IWC darlings. Then with the Real Americans and Wyatts as the big heel stables the Shield can branch out.

Raw Review:

Punk vs Harper - Good match that really put Harper over as a threat. I love the "Yeah, yeah, yeah!" and the Gator Roll. I marked out when the crowd went nuts for Bryan and Punk.

Paul Heyman - A+ promo via phone.

Ryback vs Khali - Skippable match but at least Ryback didn't job to Khali.

Kofi vs Del Rio - Decent match but one we've seen many times before.

Orton vs Big E - Orton's not-so-PG promo was good. Big E made the most of his opportunity. Orton sold his offense well.

Fandango & Summer vs Kidd & Natalya - Only worth watching if you're a Tyson Kidd fan.

Cena & Rhodes Bros vs Sandow & Real Americans - Great rematch. Cena flinging Cesaro into Zeb, Cody's high moonsault and Goldust's Final Cut were the highlights. Commentary was entertaining at first but got repetitive.

Ziggler vs Axel - Surprise win for Ziggler in an OK match.

Big Show & The McMachons - Segment went as expected. Handicap match was fun but predictable. Korporate Kane is weird.

Verdict: Average show. A few good matches. The rest was filler.

Various sources are reporting that The Miz has turned heel at a WWE Belfast Live Show...

- The Miz cut a heel promo before losing to Kofi Kingston at Wednesday's WWE live event in Belfast. Miz talked about how he has been beaten up by everyone from Kane to The Wyatt Family and the fans always cheer for who is beating him up. Here is video:

He's been such an awful version of babyface Chris Jericho for the longest time, and a portion of the crowd is pretty much going to hate him no matter what because of his MTV background and his punch-able face.

NXT Highlights:

- Rusev is getting a push as a beast heel. His new blonde manager Lana speaks only Russian and looks like a stuck-up bitch, which is cool.

- Bayley is awesome. I love her character and backstage work. Summer and Sasha tried to recruit her this week, with Charlotte trying to protect her.

- Kruger returned to beat El Local (Ricardo). Love Kruger's new finisher: three swinging leg snap suplexes into a seated underhook submission.

- With a few tweaks I could see The Ascension (Connor O'Brian and Rick Victor) being a useful addition to the tag division next year.

- Ohno lost to Harper in a good big man match. I can understand them releasing a guy who's probably on a huge wage with no place on the main roster. Shame, though.

Verdict: Another average show with a strong main event. NXT is lacking star power without Zayn, Dallas and Cesaro.
