He immediately contacted Ring of Honor and made the deal to debut at last night's Big Bang PPV.

Great move by Daniels.

Hard to blame this on the current regime as TNA has pretty much wasted Chris for years (dropping the ball on the Fallen Angel/Sting feud, Curry Man, even recently failing to follow up after the Daniels/AJ/Joe match).

When we were doing the "who should you cut" thing recently I actually named Daniels as a candidate to release specifically because I honestly believe his chance to be a 'star' in TNA had passed.

I don't see him signing with the E; hopefully he does a few PWG shows so i can catch him live and makes a ton of money with ROH and overseas .

A wonderful guy and a great performer. This is the BEST thing that could've happened to him.
dcxbox
well daniels is pushing 40 and has never went anywhere in wrestling drawing wise. it wouldn't be to smart to invest time and money into someone with such short term potential unless they were already an established name
Self
Haven't had any interest in Daniels since Curry Man got fired (Hot. Spicy. Tastes Great. Awesome) but he's probably better off in ROH. Reminds me, I haven't watched any of ROH on HDNet for a few months. Might have to play catch-up and cherry pick some choice matches.
Hyde Hill
Daniels was pretty established and he was still very fit for his age, he had at least 5 more good years in him. And nobody draws anymore as an individual, product or a group of ME's draws and Daniels was perfect for the product and had ME potential. Yeah Peter they dumped him back to midcard which was a shame but I was hoping he and Kaz where earmarked to re elevate the X-Division and then he could move up again.

Can easily blame this on the current regime though, although he had been misused in the past.

So lets see signings and gone:

In:

Good: RVD, Hardy, Anderson, Flair.

Mediocre: Moore, Kendrick.

Bad: OJ, Venis, Nasties, Hall, Xpac, Bubba, Hart.

Out:

Good: Daniels, Kong.

Mediocre: Creed.

Bad: Nasties, Venis.

Not talking about how they have been used just their talent levels.
PeterHilton
First off, I think age is a non-factor in wrestling. If a guy can work his age doesn't matter.

Hyde, if you think Daniels was perfectfor the current product, you haven't been watching TNA. That whole "we are wrestling" thing is gone by the wayside.

He's a talented guy and was actually better than average on the mic, especially doing the Fallen Angel thing, but his time in TNA was up a while ago.

For him, I'm happy. For TNA..meh, they weren't gonna do anything with him anyway. So no real loss.
jwt13
Ive really never liked Chris because he just was missing something idk what it was but he was missing it lol it might have been the way he was booked but Ive TNA since the weekly PPV days and never liked him. I mean he was good in ring ok on mic but the it facter wasn't there I could never see him as a TNA Champion
BHK1978
Weird, I read that he is not gone from TNA and that TNA was allowing their workers to work for ROH again.

Okay I was wrong the website that said what I said above just confirmed that he did indeed leave TNA.
Hyde Hill
Yeah more product what it could/should be and sometimes was lolz. Still a blow to TNA imho even if they where not using him to the full of his abilities.
dcxbox
i never saw him as the tna world champion. he does fit in the x divsion. i like him, but ya age has nothing to do with it sure, if he can go he can go. but it is risky pushing someone at that age that isnt yet established (to the mainstream) vs someone older who is established. but ya he could easily have another 5-6 strong years in him at that level maybe more if he can keep injuries and schedule controled. but who knows he can come back to tna maybe. but right now he is fine for roh. But it's not. That's a promotional piece by TNA and by constantly taking swipes at the WWE and making up excuses like "oh the low ratings were due to HBK's retirement" they come off as bush league. PeterHilton
by who's standards? A casual fan or us, the IWC Elite? Wow...condescending much? Taking repeated shots at the competition makes you look like you're in second place. And desperate. By any standards.
TommyDreamerFan
Wow...condescending much? Taking repeated shots at the competition makes you look like you're in second place. And desperate. By any standards. All in good spirit, sir. Didn't WCW do that? Like all the time? Before, during, and after their hottest period when they where number 1? Didn't ECW do that about WCW? Didn't ECW invade and be invaded by the WWF? Didn't CM Punk sign his WWE contract on the ROH belt? I think it helps more then it hinders in the eyes of the casual market, he'll it's probably cool to them. It only lowers TNA in the eyes of the IWC, which really don't make that much of a ratings impact.

Hyde Hill
Their number 1 reason was... Orlando... Jordan? What? I'm confused. Yeah it was made by TNA as a comedy example for a fan competition they are running. Unfortunately it was not funny and in the clip itself that was not made clear. Hyde Hill
Agree with every thing you said I love it when TNA takes shots at Vince and WWE It really depends on the shots and how they are presented. This vid is not a good one. The two passing EB comments and some of Taz's have been good.

Like when DX "invaded" the set of Nitro on a tank or whatever? It's standard practice.
PeterHilton
You guys keep putting up opposing examples from other companies as if that makes it a good idea. A shot here in there can come off as clever and funny. But when you spend this much time and effort into attacking the competition - whether you're TNA,WWE, ECW, whatever - makes you look worried which makes you look bad. if your product really is better the viewer will figure it out. How are you going to win over possible viewers who switch over from the E by insulting something they might enjoy? All you're doing is playing to the hardcore TNA fanbase that's going to tune in anyway.
