What's going on in your game?

Recommended Posts

Playing a TOTALLY unrealistic game, but I’m having fun with it. I decided to bring WCW back in 2011. I edited the titles to belong to WCW instead of WWE. What’s funny is, about a month or two into the game, WWE made a hostile promotion pact against me. I’m a national company.

I started in July and now I’m in September. I’ve booked Road Wild and Fall Brawl and two episodes of Nitro.

WWE let Christian go for some odd reason, so I sent out a negotiation request, but he hasn’t gotten back to me yet. Like I said, I know this game is insanely unrealistic, but I’m having so much fun with it.

Punk is definitely going to hold the World Title until at least Starrcade where I'm building up for a triple threat with Sting and Jeff Hardy and CM Punk. Not sure if I'm going to have Punk retain or not. Probably going to have him retain until Uncensored in March.

So in my above WCW game, building towards a number 1 contender match for Punks WCW title, I had Sting vs Brock and Jeff Hardy vs Jericho. I wanted Sting to beat Brock, and I'm leaving it open ended for Hardy and Jericho(the triple threat isn't until December and I'm in September). Well, Brock got MAD that I have Sting going over him. Their overness isn't that far apart. Sheesh! But, Sting is still winning. I'm hopefully gonna build Sting up to take the belt off Punk and have one more glorious run with the WCW title.

Also, I booked CM Punk and Alex Shelley against my tag champs, Haas(upper midcard) & Benjamin(main event) and chose Shelley as the victor, yet, Shelty and Haas had no complaints even though Shelley has far lower overness than they do.

I am starting some good old faction warfare within NGW. 'Management' has announced that by the end of the month everyone must be alligned within a stable (I don't know why that would be forced, but who cares its just a storyline).

Had lots of fun dividing up my roster, but their are still a few gaps to fill meaning call-ups or new signings are in order.

The stables:

The Four Horsemen - Raymond Diaz, Human Arsenal, Johnny Bloodstone, ???

-The Horsemen used to be Diaz, Bloodstone, Tom (Angry) Gilmore & Rich Money. The point was Diaz had the world title, Bloodstone the Jr Heavyweight, Gilmore & Money the tag titles. However currently Diaz & Arsenal are my tag champions, meaning I couldn't have a full fledged re-union (and Money is in a tag team with Rick Law). Bloodstone is still the Jr. of the stable (although is soon going to take a run at world champion Dan Stone Jr.), just need to plug the gap preventing this from being the 4 Horsemen. Man I need a big signing to fill in here.

The DeColts - Alex DeColt, Steve DeColt, Jack DeColt

-Self explanatory, the boys are sticking together.

House of Stone - Dan Stone Jr., Black Cobra (Duane Stone), ???

-Again, brothers stick together. Not sure who will plug the gap to comply with my 3 man minimum rule. I have a few more graduates on the roster, but none that would get along with the Stones from a storyline perspective. I am thinking Greg Black might be getting a call up from development.

Supreme Future - Rich Money, Rick Law, Tom Gilmore

-Rich Money & Rick Law are a tag team called Supreme Future, so they got their own stable. Gilmore used to be Money's partner so he got the call to join the stable, although Law isn't going to trust Gilmore (Gilmore turned on Money years ago, going crazy in the process, but has returned to normal now).

Viva La Raza - Mr Lucha, Pablo Rodriguez, Mayan Idol

-Mexicans stick together. Lucha & P. Rod are a tag team, Idol the only other Mexican on my roster.

Size Of The Fight - American Elemental, Hell Dragon (Hell Monkey), Acid, Randy Bumfhole, Zimmy Bumfhole

-The small guys who don't give up. AmEl & Hell Dragon are going to have a respectful fued within the stable as they are the main contenders to Bloodstones Jr title, but they will never turn on each other.

The Gentlemans Club - Owen Pinsent, Piston Pete Hall, Wolf Hawkins, Steven Parker, Playboy Jake Sawyer

-Pinsent has been a rich snob type for a long time. He recently 'hired' Hall as his bodyguard/hitman, however soon Hall will break out for one last run on his own. Hawkins/Parker are a young arrogant team, and Sawyer is just there for comic relief to be honest, he isn't even going to manage any of them.

The Rebellion - Ken Shimedzu, Natsu Miyamae, Koshiro Ino

-Similar to Viva La Raza, compatriots stick together, and Ken & Natsu are a team.

Uprising - Chance Fortune, William Hayes, ???, Dawn The Cheerleader

-Fortune/Hayes are a fixture of my tag division with Dawn as their manager. Need to fill the gap here, probably a call up from development (or even a tag team to mentor).

The Shooters - Bryan Holmes, Buddy Garner, Kaos (Larry Wood)

-In story terms its meant to be Holmes & Garner just want to stick on their own without a third man. However Kaos is always there, and so gets classed as the third man until I can find a more suitable member for the stable.

Marc DuBois (+2) - Marc DuBois, Troy Tornado, Freddy Huggins

Marc DuBois is very self obsessed, which lead to him being unable to find partners. He ended up recruiting Tornado & Huggins, who rarely get matches, and never win. Like the name says, the stable is DuBois being followed around by 2 lackeys.

Remo Richardson (or just Remo as you might know him) is going to be a lone wolf. Management may threaten him to try and make him join a team, but who is going to make him.

The only person lacking a home is Jack Giedroyc, he has been playing a religious character, and can't find him a home. I have John Greed in development who would work well in a team, but don't really have a third man unless I just have them recruit a brute (unfortunately Marat Khoklov is still too rubbish in ring, so I think it would have to be Hiroshi Morisue).

Just felt like sharing, plus posting this has really made me think about the decisions and reasonings.

In my new X-Division company AJ Styles is the X-Division champion and is set to win against CM Punk at my first event named X-Marks The Spot only problem is Punk is refusing to lose or draw with AJ as he is the owner of the company so i may just give Punk a DQ win then send him on holiday for 6 months and build up Daniels,Low-Ki or Kazarian as my new lead heel

In my PSW non-diary game, SWF fell to cult and lost a TV show, and now I got Ash Campbell, Steven Parker and Nelson Callum back. Fumihiro Ota got the boot from TCW too. I've fired Robbie Wright as well... his workrate stats kind of suck and he hasn't improved much, and Mutant as he wasn't much either (really, I just hired him because I liked his gimmick... which is what I've done with most of my signings really). Parker and Callum are a tag team called Too Hot For TV (implying that they were fired for making the SWF's headliners looking bad). Ash Campbell I put right back where he left off as PSW Champion, and Fumihiro Ota is pretty much a solid midcard heel.

Only issue is that with THFTV my face/heel tag ratio is out of whack, and while I plan on dissolving The Untouchables by the end of this game year I decided to turn the Redneck Warriors (repackaged Good Ol Boys wearing masks).

SWF unfortunately rose up again so I'm hoping they don't get predatory on me again.

Influence-wise though, PSW is content with just surviving. Regional battles are constantly kicking our ass and our momentum is rock bottom. Only viable option seems to be to just ride it out and hope for a break.

As long as we have Krissy Angelle and her 98 sex appeal, we should be fine though. Krissy + T-shirt gun = angle success.

<p>I feel like a broken record starting and restarting new games, but as of today, I am finally pleased with the roster I have. This time I definitely wanted to keep it truer to real life, not just signing all the big stars, every wrestler I like(this time only a few are my real favorites) and keeping true to those who are inactive from real life wrestling. Also allowing the likes of WWE and TNA to keep most of their bigger stars, but again keeping those who I like most from their companies to my roster and giving an opportunity to build my own stars. We have:</p><p> </p><p>

AJ Styles</p><p>

Akira Raijin</p><p>

Alex Shelley</p><p>

Anthony(Santino)Carelli(part of a tag team with Eric Young: both for comedy and for getting decent pushes)</p><p>

Brent Albright</p><p>

Bryan Danielson</p><p>

<p>Just hit 2014 in my ASCW 0/0/0/0 game, so time for another summary. <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1666736&postcount=2452" rel="external nofollow">Last post, summarising 2012.</a></p><p> </p><p>

SWF are still top of the world, with A* popularity in US and Canada (somehow, in spite of losing National battles fairly regularly). Lobster Warrior is once again World Heavyweight champion, beating Jack Bruce. Oddly enough, every SWF world champ has defended the belt exactly 27 times before losing it. However, you get the sense that SWF might be in trouble; Steve Frehley, Rich Money and Christian Faith have all left (due to problems with Risque, I believe), the former two heading for USPW. Marat Khoklov was also just stolen by CGC, which has put a big hole in their main event. Luckily for them, wrestler of the year 2013 Marc DuBois has stepped up to put in some great peformances, as well as Lobster Warrior, Remo and Angry Gilmore. However the rest of their main event scene consists of rapidly decaying veterans Runaway Train and Vengeance, an underperforming Jack Bruce, and uh... Kurt Laramee. Yeah.</p><p> </p><p>

Tommy Cornell is now on his seventh reign as TCW world champion. TCW's main event core of Brayn Vessey, Eddie Peak, Joey Minnesota, RDJ, Sam Keith, Cornell, Hawkins and Tornado has barely budged, and they've lost nobody of note, so they're still going strong. They also picked up Dan Stone Jr a few years back, presumably because he was 'too big' for NOTBPW.</p><p> </p><p>

USPW are owned by Alysian Scottsfield and booked by Eric Tyler and are at Cult. Steve Frehley is their champion. They're keeping an even keel but going nowhere fast, though they <em>did</em> just score the major signature of Rich Money. They lost the 'too-popular' Liberty and Nicky Champion though, and SWF decided to plunder their women's division, so they don't seem to be going anywhere fast.</p><p> </p><p>

CGC have yo-yoed between National and Cult a couple of times, getting owned in the National battles every time they jump up. Jack DeColt is their 6 time world champ right now, beating Johnny Bloodstone. </p><p> </p><p>

Sean McFly has left NOTBPW for the second time, again claiming to be too big for them. Steve DeColt beat him for the Canadian title on the way out, earning his third title reign. They're doing okay, but the only Stone left at home is Jeremy (and Victoria, I guess), and whilst they put on the odd great match, they're in a bit of a holding pattern.</p><p> </p><p>

WLW and GCG are National, SOTBPW was National but then got chewed up and spat out in the National War with SWF and TCW, losing their TV to add insult to injury. WLW are putting on great shows with Champagne Lover as their champ, whilst GCG are on their second 'National' drive this year, this time with Hiroyasu Gakusha instead of Samoan Machine at the helm. A lot of their guys are suffering in physical conditioning though, so it might be straight back down for them.</p><p> </p><p>

In the meantime, ASCW's war with NYCW has been going well. Of their last set of Empire champions, they've suffered badly. Freddie Datsun: Retired. Steve Flash: Stolen. Black Hat Bailey: Retired. Honest Frank: Stolen. Current champ is Matt Sparrow, and their shows are mostly C-s with sporadic Cs. It doesn't help that two attempted dirty tricks on me both failed, but Stomper refuses to end the war, even though they're in no condition for this type of battle, particularly with us beating them in the Regional battles at every turn. Perhaps his successor will see sense.</p><p> </p><p>

With our Great Lakes base regularly drawing good crowds, we've started to hold monthly shows in the Tri State too, to build that up for a future drive towards Cult. I'm not actively looking to rise in size just yet, I'm holding off until the industry improves some - but until then, I've figured out that two shows a month is still profitable (We make between $20-45K, on average), so there's certainly no harm in building the popularity up for the future, particularly with no apparent threat in the regional battles. </p><p> </p><p>

We've had a fair amount of turnover on the roster thanks to me finally losing my patience with a couple of roster members (didn't improve enough), SWF stealing people (the total now stands at 7) and backstage misbehaviour. Nathaniel Dorque's attitude took a nosedive right after I gave him a bad gimmick, and he kept causing trouble in the locker room, so I fired him and earned a strong dislike for my trouble - he wound up going back to CZCW and instantly made an enemy of main eventer Insane Machine. Nice, Nathaniel.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Roster Review</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Main Event</strong></p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">Chance Fortune</span> - Putting on some great matches, but has the personal chemistry where he 'gets nervous the more he's being pushed', so not feuding with the champ just yet. He's in a program with FAG.</p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">Darryl Devine</span> - Had two really good feuds with Samson Barclay and James Prudence, but had to drop the belt because he wanted another title run. Delivering really well, so he'll probably win our All Stars tournament this year.</p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Ernest Youngman</span> © - Great attitude + great skills = last minute replacement for James Prudence, who decided he'd rather re-sign with SWF, who literally let him go six months ago, than keep working for us. He's currently putting a stable together, and he'll have a solid run.</p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">Frankie Perez</span> - Turned face for a momentum boost and a feud with Barclay, which is going pretty well. Mystifies me by insisting on using his uber finisher (Perfect Parity) on jobbers.</p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Frederique Antonio Garcia</span> - FAG got released by SWF for some bizarre reason, as even at 38, he can still go and is only just slipping into time decline ('a few years before his ringwork starts to suffer too much'). He's been making successful open challenges for months, got one answered by Chance and lost, now he's trying to earn back that loss.</p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Samson Barclay</span> - Got increasingly desperate chasing Devine, to the point that he put 'This ASCW contract' on the line to face him. Turned out that it belonged to his head flunky, Richie Riggins, but in any case, Barclay was ruled unable to challenge for the title whilst Devine was champ. Now that he's lost it, Barclay is wreaking havoc with his bodyguard, Giant Brody.</p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">Steve Flash</span> - Rock solid, but doesn't have a lot to do storyline wise. He's kept relatively strong due to his great performance stats, but he doesn't really get a sustained push either - he's here because he started at this level, and since he's 47 and 8 years into time decline, I doubt I'll use him in any other capacity.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Upper Midcard</strong></p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">D.C. Rayne</span> © - Has spent much of the year feuding with The Ring Generals, who the Natural Storm exchanged the titles with over the course of 2013. Since they're still together in FCW, Natural Storm are now an A* experience tag team and are now the cornerstone of the division.</p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">Eddie Howard</span> © - See D.C., though I do rate Eddie more as a singles competitor. Having said that, they're worth a lot more as a team than they would be individually, so a break up isn't on the cards.</p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">Honest Frank</span> - He's gone once his current three month spell is up, as he's not valuable enough for me to want to give him the title reign I promised. I pretty much signed him because A) he's over in the Tri State, where I'm touring, B) This means I can feed him to Ernest to build up his pop, and C) It hurts NYCW, since he was their champ. He's decent, but expensive and also 14 years into time decline, so I have no interest in keeping him.</p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">Hugh de Aske</span> - Moved him into the tag division with Brendan Idol, since I brought in a bunch of skilled guys for the main event. Regularly absent in Japan, and I might lose him to WLW if they upgrade his PPA to a written.</p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">Mario Alessio</span> - Not doing much but remaining popular thanks to his place in USPW. Generally I'll throw him into a semi-main event because I know I can rely on him for a good match. </p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Mathias Skye</span> - Still a little bit under-utilised. He's not really had any storylines this year because I haven't had much for him to do. He hasn't really inspired confidence though, as some of his performances haven't been up to the standard I'd want in order to give him another push.</p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Remmy Honeyman</span> - Comfortably settled into the tag team division and getting a push through his team with Brooke Tyler. They're delivering reliably good matches, so they're probably going to get a title run this year.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Midcard</strong></p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Berik</span> - Now part of Ernest Youngman's group, he's finally getting pushed as a threat (which, thanks to his great Menace - 91 - isn't too hard). He's been consistently getting better, and The Solution now have good experience as a team, so bigger and better things may be on the horizon.</p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">Brendan Idol</span> - Is working with Hugh de Aske right now, which has actually notably improved him in certain areas. The team has certainly arrested his slide down the card. Since Idol's 33 and getting thoroughly over the hill now, this is probably where he'll stay unless Hugh gets poached.</p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Brooke Tyler</span> - Her team with Remmy Honeyman is proving to be a really solid combination which could be great once it gains experience. Working with CWWF, AAA and intermittently with 5SSW as well as me has ensured improvements literally across the entire board.</p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">Connie Morris</span> - Holding steady, has settled into a comfortable midcard gatekeeping role. She's a ring general, so worth keeping.</p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Dean Waldorf</span> - Now a two time tag champion after a good feud with Natural Storm. They're probably in for a lull this year, depending on how things go - I have two other heel teams that I want to push.</p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Giant Brody</span> - Barclay's bodyguard/lackey had a pretty good year, although he only worked six matches, he got to squash a few people on their way out and appeared in a lot of segments as Barclay's muscle, so he's much more popular now. He's slowly getting better in the ring and slightly faster on the mic, but I can't see him moving out of this role any time soon, since his best utility is as a chunk of menace.</p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">Jeremiah Moose</span> - Little to report. He got to work a lot more matches this year, but he hasn't got a whole lot better in the ring, overall. Still, his Blitz Off! team with Harry Lawler has potential. Need to figure out how to get him off the drugs though.</p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Lance</span> - See Berik, although he has the added bonus of having good chemistry as Ernest Youngman's manager, and as such is his official bodyguard. He's also better in the ring and Steve Flash's protege, making him overall more valuable, but I'm still content to use The Solution as a team.</p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Lenny Brown</span> - He's had a decent year, and will probably be Youngman's next recruit and final stable member for now. Lenny's been unexceptional, but he's seen improvement in a lot of places, so I'm willing to give him a chance to run with the ball as part of the dominant heel group.</p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Marv Statler</span> - Pretty much 'as Dean'. The Ring Generals are in for a fairly slow 2014.</p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">Rudy Velasquez</span> - He's done fairly well this year, although he's been something of an afterthought on a few of my shows. In honesty he's a bit of an 'also-ran' - treading water, not losing too many, but not getting pushed either.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Lower Midcard</strong></p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">Ashley Grover</span> - She's (and by extension Joe) been losing an awful lot this year. Getting better, but I've got no inclinations to push her, even though her team with Joe is one of my more experienced duos right now (certainly the most experienced 'home grown' team). I can't see her getting too far in 2014, barring some drastic strides in ability.</p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">Harry Lawler</span> - He's been working dates with FCW, which means he got a lot of ring-time in 2013 (well, a lot for a guy on the independent scene) and accordingly has improved a lot. His team with Moose has been going pretty well, and they're likely to do well once they have more experience together (and his partner kicks his bad habit)</p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">KC Glenn</span> - He's getting increasingly popular in the East and though he didn't work a whooole lot of matches for us last year, he's been gaining popularity in the US as well, as he's been lighting up the undercard. Frankly I'm just glad of whatever I get out of him, given his talents (and I don't feel guilty at all for jobbing him... gotta pay your dues and all).</p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Sayeed Ali</span> - I signed him because he was working for NYCW and is a pretty good worker (yup, I'm that vindictive). He's only worked a handful of matches for us, and has done relatively well, but unexceptionally, so he'll probably stay here for the time being.</p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">Wade Orson</span> - At C-s across Japan, I suspect that 2014 is where we lose him. He didn't wrestle too many times for us in 2013, as I was getting a handle on the roster better, but his matches have been pretty good overall. I'll try and make more use of him this time around.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Opener</strong></p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">El Heroe Mexicano</span> - The departure of Haranobu Kobayashi scuppered a promising duo with chemistry, so he's back into the realms of 'doing little', though he's gaining US popularity and has been doing pretty well. I wish I could prise him away from EX2010 and RAW though. He has PPAs with both and worked 83 matches last year, and his injured knee is rapidly deterioating. Sadly, I suspect that he'll be forced into retirement shy of 30 years old.</p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Jak Pain</span> - Part of a team with his brother Zeke Prowl 'The Day Stalkers'. He's a decent, young brawler, but honestly, the vast majority of my enthusiasm for the team was when I had Zeke and Dane (The Night Pack) - Jak feels very much like the replacement that he is and I can't get behind the team any longer.</p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">Regular Joe</span> - This was a little bit surprising, but I guess he's hit an overness cap. He could probably do with building back up a little bit, along with Grover - but it's not really a priority. They're pretty low on the tag team pecking order.</p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Zeke Prowl</span> - See Jak Pain, just with more menace. I really want to get his brother back from SWF.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Enhancement Talent</strong></p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">Leigh Burton</span> - Somebody that I quite like, so decided to take a punt on after 21CW released him (before going bankrupt a few months later). Since he's so un-over he's been jobbing a lot, but I'm content to slowly build him up.</p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">Ricky Storm</span> - See Leigh Burton. 21CW actually put them into a team together, so I decided to sign both. Unfortunately they have negative chemistry, but I've mostly been using them as a duo anyway, as they're complete jobbers and therefore not high up enough the card for it to make much difference.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Staff</strong></p><p>

Duke Hazzard - Kammy Ling was asking too much money for what she brought to the table, so I brought in Hazzard to replace her. He's been going a good job in the third chair.</p><p>

Heather Halo - Reached 63 in refereeing this year, still amongst the best value for money/youth, so I'm sticking with her for the time being, particularly if she continues getting better.</p><p>

Jordan Brigstock - Rubbing shoulders with our main event as an onscreen authority figure has caused massive strides. His mic stat is now a 73, charisma 81. Announcing has gone up two points, to 70. I'm really happy with this - not least because he's my boss and I can't exactly replace him</p><p>

Original Lone Rider - I decided it was due time I got an actual road agent, and he was the best available that I could afford.</p><p>

Richard Freebush - He's been improving, with his mic increasing from 65 to 69, and his acting from 61 to 65. Lagging in popularity, but he's great for his age (22)</p><p>

Roy Worrall - I decided I need another referee and Roy is both good and young, so I snagged him. Works for Ex2010 too, which can occasionally get awkward.</p><p>

Sara Silver - Didn't ask for too much, so I kept her. Since she seems to have run up against her overness caps at last, she'll probably be staying for the forseeable future.</p>

I'm in the second week of April in my USPW game and I just fired Giant Redwood. Since January Redwood has picked 5 fights with workers on my roster (Des Davids, Nicky Champion, Java, Rhino Umaga, and Bruce the Giant). I have tried to discipline him but it never works so I just fired him. He said the punishment was harsh and now Danny Jillefski is furious at me for firing Redwood.

24 years? Damn...i'd never be able to do that. I always get drawn to new projects after 2 years or s, most of times. Maybe more, but never 24 years.

Two questions - how are Jeremiah's skills looking, and is he off the drugs? xP

In my game, Jeremiah keeps on getting the 'hot property' radio story, which is why I signed him, but his drugs habit is stopping me from pushing him anywhere near my belt (as you can see on the previous page, he's in a low-level tag team)

http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j182/TakerNGN74/JeremiahMooseStats.jpg

There is Jeremiah's current stats. As far as his drug habbit it is pretty much non existant at this point so he might have cleaned himself up that I am not sure of. I do know that since I have had him he hasn't had one negative incident which is why I made him my champion. If he was a druggie and was causing problems then I wouldn't have given him my Heavyweight Championship.

Pretty good hand for a regional company. Wouldn't mind building stats like that up in my 0/0/0/0 game.

Speaking of which...

"Oh you're leaving, Hugh de Aske?" says I.

"Yarr matey." says he.

"Alrighty then, I'll just sign Davis Wayne Newton, Nelson Callum and Steven Parker to replace you then."

They all became available in the same week.

It's like christmas came early.

In my long-term O.N.E. game, Jay Chord hasn't caused any problems or formed any new negative relationships in almost a year, which allowed me to finally put my World title on him. I've been planning to do that for ages, but he kept screwing up. Now it's just a matter of seeing how long he'll remain in a good mood, because I've got some big plans with the strap on him.

Just wish I didn't have to wait until he was 41 to pull them off.

Heading into the buildup to Malice in Wonderland 2011, and things are looking highly combustible in TCW with a number of factions vying for power. Commissioner Eric Tyler is certain to have his hands full over the coming weeks and months. Here’s a synopsis of some of the biggest stories currently developing in the company. Sorry for the length, but, as you can probably tell, I'm really enjoying the way this game is going.

The Main Event

In news that is unlikely to surprise faithful TCW followers, Tommy Cornell is up to his old tricks again and is attempting to dominate the company by assembling a new Syndicate stable to run roughshod over the main event scene. Tommy’s right-hand-man and enforcer in this iteration is none other than Rick Law, and with Bryan Vessey and Aaron Andrews—frequently teaming together under the name Power Trip—both lending their considerable talents to the group, the New Syndicate is certainly a force to be reckoned with.

Not everyone in TCW is content, however, to exist under the thumb of Cornell and the Syndicate. An elite coalition of four former world champions from across the wrestling world has emerged in recent months, and these men have made it their business to oppose the Syndicate wherever possible. Led by iconic superstar Jack Bruce, who made his shocking return to the company that made him a star early in the summer of 2010, this alliance also features the fantastic power of Rocky Golden, the incomparable toughness of Steve Frehley, and the superior skill of Antonio Marquez.

Another formidable thorn in the new Syndicate’s side is none other than former Cornell protégé Wolf Hawkins. Since being shockingly (and forcibly) expelled from the Syndicate in September in favor of Vessey favorite Aaron Andrews, Hawkins has been single-minded in his pursuit of violent revenge against his former allies. But with few friends, and no one to back him up, the youngster is in danger of being caught up in a stable-war numbers game that he just can’t win.

And all of this is not to mention the ultimate wild card, the man whose unique combination of skill, cunning, and ruthlessness has propelled him to the absolute apex of the wrestling world, World Heavyweight Champion Troy Tornado. Accompanied only by his (highly paid) henchman Charlie Thatcher, Tornado has shown a knack for skillfully playing his myriad enemies against one another in the interest of maintaining his vice-like grip on the most coveted title in the wrestling universe. Since winning the belt from Rocky Golden in an epic four corners match (also featuring Jack Bruce and Tommy Cornell) at Hotter Than Hell in August, the Champion has seen off all challengers. But the hatred he shares with Bruce, who made his TCW re-debut by defeating Tornado at Total Mayhem XIV and has been agitating loudly for a title shot, is now threatening to explode into all-out warfare. And with so many other elite superstars having their eyes on the belt, life does not look to be getting any easier for the World Champion. Will Tornado continue to be able to use the tensions between his various opponents to his advantage, or will one of the many deserving challengers rise above all distractions to claim the title for himself? Only time will tell . . .

Danger and Violence

Elsewhere, TCW has recently seen the resurfacing of a man well known to wrestling fans across North America for his violent tendencies: Nemesis! Unsurprisingly, the sadistic genius has wasted no time making an impact on the company. He’s introduced a massively powerful young newcomer known only as The Bouncer, and has guided this monstrous new charge on a rampage that has left nothing but destruction and carnage in its wake. And now it appears that Nemesis has his sights set on a dangerous opponent from his past, the psychotic Eddie Peak! Over the past year, Eddie has forged a relationship with the one man who may be dark enough to understand the depths of his depravity, the degenerate Sammy Bach—and the two have gone as far as winning the World Tag Team titles. In recent weeks, the pair has even somewhat surprisingly become fan favorites in TCW. But now their alliance may be tested as Peak has become a target for Nemesis and his deranged, seven-foot-tall follower. Can one ring contain the brutality that would undoubtedly erupt if Peak and The Bouncer, two of the most violently unstable individuals alive, were to come face-to-face? And where would Bach be in the event of such a confrontation?

New Blood Rising

Nemesis and The Bouncer aren’t the only newcomers making waves in TCW. In fact, 2010 has seen an unprecedented influx of new talent into the company—and these youngsters haven’t been content to just sit back and wait for an opportunity. The tag team scene has especially benefitted from TCW’s aggressive new hiring policy. The Cali Dragons of Mikey James and Frankie Perez, Natural Storm’s D.C. Rayne and Eddie Howard, The Mainstream Marksmen Kirk Jameson and James Hernandez, and the current World Tag Team Champions The Legacy, featuring Matthew and Gregory Keith (managed by their legendary father) have all exploded onto the scene over the past 11 months. And, although he may not technically be new blood, at least as impressive has been the impact made by the former Flyboy himself, James Prudence. Along with his friend and ally—the current International Champion Steven Parker—Prudence has made no secret of the fact that he has his sights set on getting to the top of the TCW heap.

But perhaps no one has been as outspokenly vocal about his desire to overturn the “old order” in TCW as Joey Minnesota. After suffering, along with his friend and mentor Ricky Dale Johnson, a series of high-profile defeats, Minnesota proclaimed himself the victim of an elaborate and powerful conspiracy in an infamous on-air interview in August of 2010. Claiming that he had been “held down” by backstage politics his entire career, Minnesota vowed to make it his mission in life to tear down the existing political power structure in TCW so that no other young wrestlers would have to suffer as he had. Calling himself “the greatest wrestler alive today” and promising TCW fans that they would have no choice but to cheer him, Minnesota went on to accuse his veteran partner Ricky Dale Johnson of secretly and jealously maneuvering against him behind the scenes in order to keep his own main event spot.

Unwilling to listen to his former partner’s protests, Minnesota returned to TCW in September with a stable of up-and-coming young wrestlers who had bought into his message and who recognized him as the greatest wrestler in the world. And thus, The Joey Minnesota Fan Club was born. The Fan Club, consisting of Lassana Makutsi, KC Glenn, and Jared Johnson, has made it its mission to refuse to be held down at all costs.

In the face of this influx of new blood, however, not all TCW veterans have been content to merely cede their spots in the company without a struggle. Behind the leadership of Harry Allen, a group of veteran loyalists calling itself The Originals has formed. Allen, along with such stalwarts as Chance Fortune, Clark Alexander, and “Giant” Tana Muliaina, has publically proclaimed that while they have no problem with young wrestlers competing to get ahead in TCW, they are not willing to stand by while these youngsters use superior numbers and underhanded tactics to gain victory.

Having placed himself and his group squarely in the path of the Joey Minnesota Fan Club (which has roundly denounced The Originals as an example of the worst kind of reactionary backstage politics), Allen has explicitly sought to recruit a powerful ally in Joey Minnesota’s former partner, former two-time World Champion Ricky Dale Johnson. Will RDJ step in to actively oppose his former partner? And what of other TCW veterans? Will The Machines, The New Wave, or The Tag Team Specialists have anything to say about the new blood rising throughout the company? And if they do, could we see the already tense situation in TCW erupt into all-out war between veterans and rookies? All of these questions remain to be answered as TCW moves ahead into 2011.

*slowly applauds*

Love to see people doing big things with my favourite promotion, and I especially like to read that you seem to have found a role for almost everyone on the starting roster, which I haven't yet been able to do.

Also a group consisting of Tommy/Law/Vessey/Andrews sounds like an awesome combination.

And I love seeing Troy as world champ. One of these days, one of these games, he's gonna get the strap for me.

Looking forward to seeing future updates from that game, if you choose to share!

Edit: Fuyuko Higa was just forced to retire at 24 in my 0/0/0/0 game. That's criminal.
