What's going on in your game?

Recommended Posts

The first game I started, default database natch, is still my primary game as Im new to this.

I've been slaving away with ROF for years (currently December 2013) running one show a month, usually small shows as medium shows which went for anything more than an hour were killing me financially. We've been putting on C- basically every week since Summer in year 1 and I've finally made the jump up to Regional, moving out of the Norman Blue Athletic Arena for the first time ever (apart from when we ran the odd show down south) in November.

UK Dragon's been my number one guy, even though I lost him for a whole year as he was too costly to keep on. Upon his return he began his ongoing 2 years-and-counting run as ROF Champion, raising the belt's prestige to A* and claiming 8 spots in the company's Top Ten matches list, as I've brought in guys from all over on loan and short term deals to challenge him. At one point I traded for UEW booker Eddie Cornell who played the creative control card and refused to put him over at my biggest show of the year - thank God I hadn't advance booked it. (Cornell ended up going over Joey Beauchamp in the sub-main event and had the match of the night, so fair play)

Alas, Dragon just popped onto the Time Decline spots and his hectic schedule (touring with three Jap promotions right now plus wrestling for me) is beginning to take its toll

I think I've taken ROF as far as I can now, actually. I don't have the financial muscle to ever put a dent in Jeff Nova's 21CW and even bringing in the likes of Burning EXILE and Koji Kojima to face UK Dragon they've been unable to find a match rated above C+. Every time a vacancy with a promotion geared more toward entertainment crops up it gives me pause for thought

My first two champions Merle O'Curle and Oleg Dorosklov (to whom I gave a start in the biz, pushing him as an unstoppable monster) have both departed and gone on to much greater things (O'Curle is the GCG Heavyweight Champion and Oleg was the runner up in the PGHW Elite Series)

Elsewhere in the world SWF have been humbled, at one point falling to Cult status but they've somehow scrambled up to Global since. TCW absolutely pillaged them, stealing away everyone - Jack Bruce, Vengeance, Rich Money, loads of others, even Peter Michaels. Since then they've been getting obscene TV ratings, even their B-show is getting a 10.00 every week. Compared to supreme TV's 1.72s its ridic. SWF's slide was really underlined to me this morning as Hollywood Bret Star turned down their offer and remains independent for the time being

Interestingly TCW have never claimed the number 1 spot. You'll be not so shocked to learn that NOTBPW have raced up the ranks, their insane top liners usually producing two A rated matches at the top of every card (two TVs a week and monthyl PPVs) and further down the card the Can-Am Blondes, Dark Angel and ROF alumnus Greg Gauge are producing Cs and over every time they lace up their boots. Dan and Jeremy have won Wrestler and Veteran every year and the previous year's Top 10 Wrestlers was dominated by NOTBPW, only Tommy C and Wolf Hawkins crashed the party if I recall

In less notable news:

- GCG returned to the glory days, at one point claiming fifth spot but now they're circling the drain due to financial problems

-Every DeColt bar Alex has departed CGC (who've been on a slow slide down the pecking order for 18 months or so)

-Rip Chord handed the reigns of MAW to Jay, who's gone power mad booking himself to the moon (reigning champ and 2 time Rip Chord Invitational winner) and running his mouth in the press non-stop about how he's carrying the company. He must be a joy to work for.

-Champagne Lover has gone on to be just about the biggest star in Japan for WLW who've become a real force (they wouldn't loan me him surprisingly)

Incredibly, no deaths as yet. None that I've noticed anyway.

However if my TCW game goes well then I will be returning to this game later rather than sooner.

Im playing a real world WWE game. I started in March, and Im in May now.

Champions:

Raw

WWE Championship: The Miz - Succesfully defending his title at wrestlmania again Triple H, and then against John Morrison at extreme rules.

United States: The Brian Kendrick - I can't do a real world mod without pushing Brian Kendrick. He is my favorite wrestler, and his "The Brian kendrick" Pillman type character was pefect for him. I game him that character back. He defeated Daniel Bryan for it after Extreme Rules, to allow a big push for Bryan.

Tag Team: Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater - I moved all of the corre except Barrett to Raw, and all of the Nexus to Smackdown bar Punk. Daniel Bryan is the new leader of the Corre. The nexus dont have a new leader to date.

Smackdown

World Heavyweight: Albero Del Rio - He won it at Wrestlemania, like he SHOULD have in real life. Hes in a fued with the Undertaker at the moment, they're drawing high matches.

Intercontinental: Tyson Kidd - He defeated Kofi Kingston, because I had nothing for Kingston to do, and Kidd was having better matches.

Tag Team - Husky Harris and Joey Hennig - Dropped the ****ing stupid McGullicutty name... Worst thing I have ever seen.

This is my Main event:

"Dashing" Cody Rhodes

Albero Del Rio

CM Punk

Dolph Ziggler

Edge

Jack Swagger

John Cena

John Morrison

Randy Orton

Sheamus

The Miz

The Undertaker

Wade Barrett

ZACK RYDER (He is getting a MONSTER push, he defeated The Undertaker on Smackdown recently)

So for the second straight week in my game on a Tuesday some said they were retiring then died from drug overdose.

Does this happen because they die and the game see it as retiring?

No Retiring and Dying are two completely different things in the game.

It's actually a shared piece of code. Each year (relative to birthdays I think) the game generates a value and compares it to a retirement threshold and a dying threshold. If the number is high enough to retire, the worker retires. If it's high enough to die, they die. The reason they both tend to happen in one day is that the dying number is modified by bad habits, causing it to be lower than the retirement number which is why both stories happen on the same day. It's something that almost never happens in the Cornellverse, probably because that universe is a lot cleaner than the real world.

Vessey is pretty near impossible to get to stop roiding. He's also talented enough to be worth the effort, so I find it easier just to stop testing than either fight with him over it (and have him hate you) or get positive tests and do nothing with them.

I managed in my TCW game :D

He tested postive so I fired him on the spot. He gave me the whole "Thanks, it's what I needed etc". Then, when the decision came up I cancelled it. I've tested him twice since and he's clean. I've got nothing for him to do at the minute, though. My 'A' show is currently crammed with the TCW vs The Extreme Revolution stuff. I've got Showcase as my 'B' show and he's formed a team with Buddy Garner & Joshua Taylor called Team PRiDE. They're feuding with Koshiro Ino after he refused to join.

I have tried to do that but he still is a jerk, I recently started a new TCW game and I am one month in and this time around if he does the roids thing I am going to click fire and then cancel it the next day but if he still is being a jerk I am going to actually fire him.

Larry Wood and The Big Problem have great chemistry when teaming together. Time for a monster tag team title run. :)

I've put those two together soooo many times in the past and never yet managed to get good chemistry for them. I usually rename The Big Problem to Theo Wood and have him be another Wood Cousin (like Alyssian Scotsfield used to be Billy Wood), which often worked out well for turning Problem into a talented big man. :)

Just held The War To Settle The Score in my TCW game...

The Keith's (Greg & Matt, face) beat The New Wave to win the Tag Team titles, helping TCW gain some fround in the war against The Extreme Revolution.

Aaron Andrews defeated Acid for the All Action title, again, helping TCW gain some ground against The Extreme Revolution.

Sam Keith defeated Steven Parker after the youngster targetted Keith, declaring himself "The Future" of TCW. Parker is also alligned with The Extreme Revolution.

Ricky Dale Johnson defeated Rick Law. RDJ is playing a heel and has turned on TCW.

Eddie Peak defeated Wolf Hawkins to keep the International title with The Extreme Revolution.

Joey Minnesota beat Tommy Cornell after Nemesis attacked Cornell, setting up their feud and match at Total Mayhem. Minnesota is heel but not part of The Extreme Revolution. Nemesis will try and get him to join, though.

Sammy Bach defeated Rocky Golden to retain the World title thanks to outside interference from Eric Tyler, setting up a Rocky Golden/Eric Tyler feud.

Going forward, I plan to end the takeover attempt by The Extreme Revolution with Cornell defeating Nemesis. The next month should be interesting as I'll be using Jenifer Cornell as a catalyst to add a stipulation to the Cornell/Nemesis match.

I'm also trying to bring in Remo from SWF but he'll probably resign with them.

Your game makes me want to get back into my Cornellverse game which has taken a backseat to the mod I was working on. You came up with a lot of good ideas!

After playing with the C-Verse for the past couple weeks, I've decided to get my first actual real world mod game underway with WWE. I'm taking my time with it, because booking three shows a week can get really tedious.

I signed The Rock and Chris Jericho, made them both faces, Rock on RAW and Jericho on SD! I'm in February 2011 atm, so I'm working towards Elimination Chamber. I'm not trying to do an entirely realistic game, I know The Rock will never return full-time, but I have to prevent TNA from getting him, plus I can use his massive Overness and Entertainment to liven up RAW each week, and only use him rarely on PPV. :p

Oh, I also signed Trish Stratus.

Planned EC card is....

RAW Elimination Chamber Match for the WWE Championship

Sheamus vs John Morrison vs Randy Orton vs CM Punk vs John Cena vs The Miz ©

SmackDown! Elimination Chamber Match for the World Heavyweight ChampionshipWade Barrett vs Rey Mysterio Jr vs 'Dashing' Cody Rhodes vs Big Show vs Jack Swagger vs Edge ©

WWE United States Championship

Tyson Kidd vs David Hart Smith vs Ted DiBiase Jr vs Daniel Bryan ©

WWE Intercontinental Championship

Dolph Ziggler vs Kofi Kingston ©

WWE Tag Team Championship

The Corre (Justin Gabriel & Heath Slater) vs The Nexus (David Otunga & Michael McGillicutty) vs Santino & Vladimir Kozlov ©

WWE Divas ChampionshipEve Torres vs Kong ©

My planned WrestleMania card is....

WWE Championship

The Rock vs The Miz vs John Cena ©

World Heavyweight Championship

Alberto Del Rio vs Edge ©

Money In The Bank Ladder Match

Daniel Bryan vs Dolph Ziggler vs 'Dashing' Cody Rhodes vs Rey Mysterio Jr vs John Morrison vs Kofi Kingston

WWE Divas Championship

Trish Stratus vs Kong ©

Grudge Match

Sheamus vs Triple H

Grudge Match

Wade Barrett vs The Undertaker

Grudge Match

Jack Swagger vs Big Show

5-on-5 Tag Team Match

The Nexus (CM Punk, David Otunga, Michael McGillicutty, Husky Harris and Mason Ryan) vs Team Orton (Randy Orton, Evan Bourne, Diesel, Mark Henry and R-Truth)

Grudge Match

Tyson Kidd vs David Hart Smith

WWE Tag Team Championship

I'm 2 weeks away from Total Mayhem and about to pull the trigger on an angle were Nemesis kidnaps Jenifer Cornell in order to get a match against Tommy with TCW on the line. He tried costing him a match against Joey Minnesota in my last PPV but Tommy wouldn't bite. He said he will face Nemesis and kick his ass but not with TCW on the line. So, Nemesis launches his "back-up" plan and kidnaps Jen. It happens while Tommy is cutting a promo about Nemesis and him wanting to take TCW. The TotalTron comes to life and Nemesis is outside of Cornell's home. He breaks in, kidnaps Jen, bundles her in the trunk then speeds off.

Tommy is beside himself. He heads backstage and bumps into Eddie Peak. He wants answers from Peak, wants to know where Nemesis has taken Jenifer. Peak just laughs so Tommy says he'll have to beat it out of him and books himself vs Peak in the Main Event. In the match, Tommy is in control when the TotalTron comes to life. It shows the car that drove off with Jen pulling into the arena. Tommy rushes backstage and gets counted out, giving Peak the win. He turns a corner and the car mows him down. Nemesis gets out of the car and makes the challenge; Cornell vs Nemesis at Total Mayhem. Cornell's love for his wife vs his love for his company. If Tommy wins, he gets Jenifer back and The Extreme Revolution end their 'invasion'. If Nemesis wins he gets TCW.

EDIT:

Oh yeah, I turned Texas Pete after signing Pistol Pete Hall. On Showcase, Texas Pete bumped into Pistol and said he's honoured to meet him, that he's an inspiration and the reason he's a wrestler. Later in the night, Pistol Pete loses to Eddie Peak and Peak proceeds to beat him down until Texas makes the save. Prior to this, Texas Pete was alligned with The Extreme Revolution. I've put them in a team together, The Texas Pistols, in the hope Pistol can help Texas Pete develop his skills. Gonna have them feud with The Tag Team Specialists and then Bryan Vessey & Buddy Garner.

I love how in wrestling, you can do all that, and no one thinks to call the cops, lol.

So... I was slowly booking my way towards the indy cup. Im at the night of the indy cup now... and how does the booking start off. 1 incident. Troy Tornado, and one of my imported workers Dean Callows (an old E-Fed character of mine).

Whats the incident? TROY TORNADO TAKES DEAN CALLOWS AS HIS F'ING PROTEGE!!!

Now... normally in this game I wouldnt hire ANYONE who was active before the game starts (aside from the random guest appearances for the indy cup) but with this protege-pupil relationship im seriously thinking about breaking the rules and signing Troy Tornado.

So I began playing my TCW game again. It picked up on the night of the War to Settle the Score. Must say I was happy with the outcome. All of my champions were heels going into the show. The World Title and Tag Titles switched hands though.

Giedroyc and Valiant beat the Machines for the tag straps. I plan on keeping the belt on these 2 for a bit as the Machines job to guys in the main event and upper midcard like Texas Pete, and Rocky Golden. Hopefully their skills rub off on the big guys.

Tommy Cornell dropped the World title to Vengeance. Vengeance will have the title for a couple of months possibly. Tommy Cornell is going to feud with a new arrival to TCW but a very very very familiar guy. The $270,000 a month Jack Bruce! If that feud goes well Jack Bruce may get a title shot.

I am going to be jobbing Morpheus out on every show until his contract runs up because he wants a lot of money and I don't feel like paying the big fella.

Swoop McCarthy and Bryan Vessey put on a 99 rated match! Swoop is only upper midcard though and Bryan Vessey is barely a main eventer. The best part is they don't have good nor bad chemistry.

This game has been so much fun and now that I got back to it I am not sure if I will get back into the mod I was working on anytime soon.

What year are you in? I've got Saturday Night Showcase to book then it's time for Total Mayhem. I'll be using SNS to bump up the heat of my storylines and advance booked matches. There'll be interviews, promos and matches featuring my main attractions for Total Mayhem.

I fondly remember the times when they used to find explanations of whatever kind. Remember the Horsemen breaking Dusty's hand, where they explained that the Horsemen had bought the time to show the film so it had to be aired, and Dusty begged the police to let him handle the situation?

I started it January 2010 and am now in 2011 the week after the War to Settle the Score. I am the #3 promotion in the world. I am global with 100% prestige and 98% momentum.

Bruce the Giant debuted by attacking RDJ at the PPV and they will feud now.

If I can get another A show I may split up all of my roster except the guys who are under midcard. Those guys could be on either show then which would allow them to build up some overness.

Lenny Brown (29) and Sean McFly (48) have great chemistry together in my WCW game. Lenny has developed a bunch over the years and he's a solid upper-midcard worker, but he's never broken that main event barrier before. Their feud won't be the headliner, but it has the opportunity to steal the show every time. I'm really excited to see how Brown is able to further develop after a series of matches with McFly (who has B+ to A* stats in everything I care about).

The best part is Lenny will be able to carry the entertainment-side of the feud and McFly will bring all of the ring work.

Glad to see Lenny Brown is doing well. I like him a lot, and tried to utilise him in every card I had in my MAW game. He wasn't good enough for my main event, but always pulled out good midcard bouts.
