fullMETAL Posted November 30, 2010 Share Posted November 30, 2010 I use Fireworks and depending on the logo, I work either at 300x300 or 600x600 for the more detailed stuff. The top one seems to work best, though Id drop the underline. Id also rebuild the japanese wave image completely, so its more bold and clean in its detail, use the one youve got to trace. As it is right now its got too much fine detail for 150x150. The circle motif with the waves breaking over it is good so id say run further with it, possibly a few more layers of the circle using the light blue thats found in the wave and make the text wrap around the circle. Speaking of colour, at the moment most of the image is white, which is great but something is needed to tie the blues found in the waves into the rest of the object. Finally as a personal preference I always make sure that the logo doesnt go over the edge of the image.. even if its just one pixel off each side.. that way it suggests that youre seeing the entire logo rather than a zoom of it. When I was creating most of the original logos, the one thing Adam asked me to do is make the logos look like they could fit on the chest of a polo shirt, like a company employee might wear. That's why they don't touch the edges. Your logo just looks way too busy, IMHO. It's definitely an awesome start, but you need to cut through the static and define what you want the main impact of the logo to be before you go further.
