Hello everyone. NordVolf here.

 

I know. I've been away for a long time. But my time away has been far from idle.

 

A little while back, there was a post in the TEW 2008 forums... Ok, so maybe it was a long while back. Who knows? Maybe the topic has resurfaced in these more recent TEW 2010 Forums. I scanned the threads briefly, even did a search. Couldn't find it if it is here, so I just don't know.

... asked a simple question as a premise: If you were to make TEW into a movie, who would you cast as actors for whom in the game?

 

Well, needless to say, that caught my attention. I'd been doing the same kind of mental exercise with actors for parts since my early days of table-top fantasy role playing games. So I got hooked on the idea.

 

I then noticed that there were no women in there! And being a Triple-A fan, I couldn't help but quickly notice no one even attempted to address Angel Athletic Association at all(!). Needless to say, I felt a little... slighted...

 

I haven't had the time to delve into what promotions still exist and which don't in TEW 2010 yet, let alone which characters are in them or not. As a result, I stand to be horribly outdated. It can just as well be argued that my TEW 2007 diary of AAA has been long since out-dated as well. Hell, for all I know, AAA no longer exists in TEW cannon. But all that aside...

 

I resolved to 'fix' the issue.

Yes, I've included characters whom I have no pic(k) for. Work in progress, after all. If anyone has ideas, please PM me or, better yet, post here to let me know! I'll then update this to reflect the additions.

 

Please bear in mind that not all the actors look exactly like "their characters", and some look very little like them. But the idea, for me anyway, is who the character reminds me of. Quite frequently, I find myself looking at a character picture and thinking, "Hey! That looks just like {some actor}!" And while it may turn out to not be exactly the case, the fact remains that the character reminds me of that actor. And as such, it then colors the way I see the character ever after.

 

Of course, this is also tainted by the diary game I have going, even after all this time. And yeah. I'm still working on it. Posted to it too, a bit ago. I know. Been a while. But even after all this time, it still captures and drives my imagination. And should you be curious, and maybe desiring of a little TEW 2007 'retro action', you can find it here:

As a result, the head booker is my "user character", and various other characters I've included are not on AAA's 'normal' C-verse starting roster for 2007, 2008, or presumably 2010. Of course, the way I formatted the above, it also lets you see where the workers are with regards to push and all, as well as what I've done with AAA's roster for my game. Kills two birds with one stone.

 

There are several other self-made characters I've made and placed into my database, incidentally spawned from 3D character art I'd seen and subsequently pillaged from various other 3D art sites. While I in no way take credit for any of the art, they have inspired me greatly not only for characters in my diary, but also for the nature of the story in the diary itself!

 

As I've said before, if any of you out there are in fact the creators of any of these fine works, please let me know if you object and I will remove them promptly.

You know, I saw your suggestion, and thought about it for a couple seconds. Seriously considered it. And I thought, "She's a good actress. Little young maybe. Well, the face might be about right... No she's not. She's got one of the highest sex appeal ratings in the entire world. By that criteria, J.Ro is really homely looking too because her render doesn't scream 'A* sex appeal' either. The same could be said for Sara Marie York.

 

I dunno Bon, some of those choices seem kinda off. When are you making this movie, 1986? ("It's like some kind of....hot tub time machine") Lot of concessions being made. Kristy McNichol must be 50 by now. Uma could do Raven without it being too much of a stretch. Keira Knightley could do Brazzle easily. You know what kind of worker Cherry Bomb is and as much as I love the wry style of Janeane, she just doesn't fit. It's kinda like casting little Raul Julia to be M.Bison in Street Fighter. I'd cast Melissa Anderson to do Cherry Bomb. Hair color is easy to change and Melissa has the training and ability to give the character life. I'd also get Sarah Stock to do Miss Mexico (with hair color being easy to do).

 

Other than that, I'd really have to think about it. I'd cut the actual cast down a lot (getting all those people enough screen time to show/develop their characters would turn the movie into an 18 hour, three film trilogy. ) and many of the names too.

LOL! Great analogy! Love it, and in large part because it's so very accurate.

 

But you're right. I've taken a lot of liberties. But we are talking about a fictional universe, and since I'm nowhere near able to make a Real Life movie, let alone entice (and pay!) actors of some of the caliber here to act in it, this is pure, unadulterated fantasy.

 

Well... Maybe... I guess what this has really become for me as I've been working on it isn't so much about the realism of making a movie, but what actors inspire me for developing their Cornellverse character counterparts. Perhaps in... oh, I don't know... a diary, let's say.

Flash is more a speedball's name. Cherry Bomb would fit her so much better. Of course, she does seem to have a penchant for names that don't quite fit. CHEERLEADER Melissa? REALLY? Lacey Von Erich or Velvet Sky looks so much more like a cheerleader than Melissa ever has.

For me, jury's still out on Rebecca De Mornay as Bach. I was figuring someone a bit more stocky or however you want to call it. At least someone who looked a lot more muscular and tough. And I know, Remi, I know. Not going to find that in today's Hollywood, what with the unspoken mandate on "Beautiful (ie thin) Physique" being what it is.

 

But I wanted to at least drop these in here like this, in the formal picture format I used in the OP, so folks could see and judge for themselves, and maybe use that for their own purposes/games. Inspiration can come from unusual places, after all.

Oh definitely not. I could easily see a Christy Hemme or a Maria as face cheerleader types. Maybe even Sarita. Although Taylor Wilde does seem to be the leader of that team, "spirit" wise. It's not just the blonde thing. It's more she's too broad and tough looking to envision as a cheerleader. Picturing Melissa in the cheerleader role would be like seeing Tara or Natalya as a cheerleader. Too few frills. Too little nonsense. Too little air in the hair.
