fatallylost
If it makes you feel any better, I'm not intimidated by girls that are taller than me! Dated one once... it was fun. Not sure why guys get so bent out of shape on it. Waaaahhh waaaahhhh she's taller than me waaaaah. Get over it. I just put it all under "various forms of little man syndrome" Ever notice, most of the big bad boy trucks you see, have the littlest guys driving? Comradebot
I just put it all under "various forms of little man syndrome" Ever notice, most of the big bad boy trucks you see, have the littlest guys driving? Actually, they just tend to be rednecks (of various sizes). Truth is, most guys I know, regardless of height, refuse to date a girl taller than them on account of, ultimately, feeling intimidated. I have no reason to be intimidated, however.

Max Peck
See, I am secure in my short stature (5'9")...I just keep running into women who refuse to date shorter men....not that there is anything wrong with having a preference though, I myself prefer redheads... I grew up with tall brothers. I don't know really. I never would date anyone shorter or younger than me. I guess as I grew up (No smart arsed comments here) I grew out of that. moon_lit_tears
Fair enough. I guess in my late teens/early twenties I was worried about stuff like that. As I get older Looks mean less and less and personality means more.
fatallylost
Is that why the tall guys always want to date short women? I'm not sure about that. My ex was 4 inches shorter than I am. We seemed the same size though, or very close to it. I'm not against dating shorter, or, the same height. My only real issue is, most girls taller than I am are usually odd looking (since they'd have to be 6'4/6'5 or more, you get into the freakishly tall for a woman area.) Actually, they just tend to be rednecks (of various sizes). Most times, yeah. Don't have a ton of rednecks where I am. Unless you count Mexican rednecks. Those we have a plenty. But, I just noticed one day. It was funny, cause, the guys are so short, and the trucks so tall (I'm talking big pick up, lifted two or three times the norm) they'd almost need a step stool to get in. I'm all for compensating for your short comings (pun not necessarily intended) but, gees. That's be like me driving a car with $100 bills laminated to the exterior. Self
Just had an experience that totally ground my gears. My family owns a small but lucrative fencing company, and we sponsor the local rugby team (name on the front of the shirts and everything). So today we invited all of our loyal customers to the game, for some kind of happy-meeting-get-to-know-you thing. For every other employee, attendance was optional. For me, as the son of the boss, it was mandatory, despite the fact I have nothing to do with running the company. Everything about it was something I don't like to do. Drinking. Small talk with strangers. Talking business. Explaining that despite getting a degree I work barely minimum wage for my father. I don't have anything against rugby, but it's not something I enjoy watching. Especially when 2 guys who used to bully me in high school play for the team.

My gears are thoroughly ground, and I slipped off when nobody was looking and came home... even though I probably shouldn't have been driving (I get drunk fast). Gear grindingly annoying indeed.

P.S. Despite my shortness (tall for my family, short everywhere else) I've never been with anyone taller than me. I'd be interested in giving it a whirl.
