You know, I see all the time on TV (when I actually watch) and hear girls complain about dead beat dads. Okay I understand there are men who don't want to deal with kids. They really don't have to. That's not an excuse either.

What really gets me is my younger brothers babies mother. She's a well for lack of a better word...a whore. Her and my brother broke up shortly after their daughter was born. My brother takes this little girl three-five days a week. My father who is about to be 70, and in failing health will take this little bundle of joy when the mother doesn't want to deal with her and my little brother had to work. So this .... lady (I'm really being nice here) decided she was tired of MAryland and moved to NC. No that's not super far away. I'd say about a 7 hour drive. Okay you wanted a change of lifestyle. After she got there she called my brother complaining she couldn't deal with Reba (the baby) alone and needed his help loved him blah blah blah. My little brother gave up his life here, left his ENTIRE family and the home he's known for 22 years and went to NC to be with his daughter and this girl. HE'd been there maybe a week and this ..... girl....tells my brother..Oh you have to get a place of your own I just want you to be here for REba and not me. she's sleeping with many different guys.

Normally I wouldn't care what ANYONE does with their own life, but what she's doing is effecting my entire family. My father and step mother have been in this girls life for the first year of her life. Now most people will say oh it's a year, but anyone who's been around babies will understand that it's a very bonding kind of time. Now they are hurting because they can't see their grand daughter, for my step mom this is her first grandchild so it's even harder on her.

I'd really like to see people get their live together. I have a great respect for guys who take care of their business, and that's what he's trying to do. Not many men would give up their lives and chase their child. Some females just don't know what they have....

That sucks. Seriously, this is why I fear having children. Once you do, all the mother of the kid has to do is go nuts and well ... you're boned.

Not true. It depends on where in the world you are, but if you take the right steps you have rights as well.

The thing my brother has to decide is whether it's worth going after or not. Since the baby was born HERE and has lived her for 14 months the court case for custody would be held here and not in NC, but if he waits for 6 months it would be done there. IF he tries now, she'd have to bring the baby back to MD and it's a lot for the baby do endure traveling so much back and forth.

It's one of the reasons I don't want kids. When the guy doesn't want to deal with it, poof he's gone. :)

You know what grinds my gears? I was away from the boards for a week and in that week several people actually came to the conclusion (or stopped being so timid to say something) about Remi's apparent super life. For years people fell all over themselves because he'd say something on here and everyone would crush hard for the guy (because you know if you say it on a message board with less than zero proof it MUST be true). So it grinds me gears I was not around for that. Although sometime soon he'll be back around he's spending time with his pro football playing and aparently soul singing father while he hacks the DOD while writing novels while playing nine million mmo's at once all while him and his friends chart every play in the NFL.

So yeah that grinds my gears that laptops that seemingly fall apart shortly after purchase.

You've got to take guys like that with a pinch of salt, everybody knows one. There's a guy we know where I live called 'One-up Will'...whatever anyone has done, he's done it first. Whatever you've bought, he's got a better one. He's got a great job and a girlfriend (who nobody has ever seen, but she used to model) and still has time to complete every video game that comes out in the first week, play semi-pro football (had trails for Arsenal but did he knee in as a kid), skydive and paintball regularly and do all his charity work. This despite the fact that nobody ever see's him outside of the pub.

I never really paid any notice to Remi until I saw a post where he was talking about being in a street fight and using 'chopping side kicks to the legs' of his opponent. That's when I had my moment of clarity, lol.

Maybe I'm overreacting...

So, we had a delivery go out today. About 2 hours ago, I get a call from the customer, who says that the table is damaged, and that he's going to refuse delivery for the table unless we do something about it. I say I need to call my boss, who is not here.... he’s telling me I only have 5-10 minutes, but won't actually let me get of the phone so I can call her.

Eventually, I get off the line, and I call the manager and explain it to her. She says to talk to the owner about it.

I talk to the owner, and he says that we can exchange the tabletop (we have another one, fresh out of the box as of yesterday) but the customer has to bring back the old one and pick up the new one. Somewhat reasonable, seeing as how he paid his own delivery, which was set up independent of the sale price.

Now, under certain circumstances, I can see an argument for us paying for the delivery on a damaged item, if the customer got it, took it out of the box, and it was already damaged. I can even see it if it was somehow damaged in transit. But the guy bought a floor model, and he personally checked it before we pulled it off the floor and noticed no damage. He's also not claiming it was damaged in shipping...he's essentially implying that we intentionally offloaded a damaged table on him, thinking he wouldn't notice.

Anyway, I tell him what the owner said, that we'd be willing to give him a brand new table top, but that he'd have to either come get it himself or pay for a second delivery. (For the record, the delivery guy we use is an independent hire, that gets paid by the customer, and isn’t actually part of our company. We make nothing off of delivery.) The customer completely loses his mind; starts shouting and cussing and threatening to sue us if we don't give him free delivery for the new tabletop. The equivalent of maybe $100, and he's threatening to sue.

This is a guy that got like a $600 discount on his crap, knew he was getting floor models (even says it right on the receipt) and he personally inspected every inch of everything he was buying, with his wife and his mother.

So he tells me he'll sue us and get all his money back and "f**k us up" in court. He first said his mother was a lawyer, then later said that it was his uncle who was, and because of this fact he KNOWS the law and I obviously don't.

This went on for like 10 minutes, with me calming repeating what I was authorized to do for him, and with him repeatedly yelling at me that it wasn't good enough, that we goddamned well WOULD give him free delivery and that he was going to sue us. He repeatedly told me "you're not a manager, you don't know a f**king thing" and variations on how stupid I was.

Then he brought out the BIG guns: He threatened to sick his wife on me. In his words "She's meaner than I am, AND she's ITALIAN!"

I spent most of the time trying not to tell him he was being a retard. At one point, even with the owner listening over my shoulder, I told the guy (after he essentially called me stupid for the fourth time) that obviously he had no idea how the real world worked and that I severely doubted that he could win in court.

This has been a crazy day. Insanity doesn't even begin to describe it.

So right now a friend is really grinding my gears. Just on the phone talking about a bunch of stuff. He'd just seen Avengers Tuesday for the first time so we were talking about that..then he shifted the conversation to religion. Now I'm not going to discuss that with him because we believe way different things, and it's a touchy subject for me right now. I asked him to change the subject....he refused...so I said look...I like talking to you and hanging out and stuff, but we aren't going to be friends if you can't respect my decision to not discuss this with you.

Backreason for this...I lost my brother just under two years ago and religion has been a thing with everyone coming to me about him...It's not comforting to hear "he's in heaven looking down on you" or "he's in a better place" or "god wanted him home" Those may seem nice and all at the time, but when you love someone that's gone you don't want to hear that crap. Because the same people who say those things to you are the same idiots who days later see someone doing something and say "that persons going to hell" Well the same could be said for anyone really....so Hypocrite much?

Anyway after hanging up because he refused to change the subject, I've gotten two phone calls that have been ignored two voicemails and texts out the bumm telling me I need to hear his point of view. Really.....if I say I don't want to discuss this with you take it as a hint..

I'm a great friend...(I'm not trying to be egotistical) I'm a great listener and will always be there for my friends. I'm passionate about those I love...and care for a great deal, but I'm also passionate about keeping people out of my life who will do nothing but cause me pain.

Yeah religion is one topic I avoid like the plague. Nothing good can come out of talking about it with others. The way I see it is I have my beliefs, you have your beliefs, and there is no need to let each other know what those beliefs are.

I will talk about the other taboo subject, politics, until the cows come home but when it comes to religion I tend to in the words of Archie Bunker, "Clam up."

I've only been called stupid by a customer once (the exact word was "thick" which in hindsight I find charmingly lowbrow) I hung up pretty much immediately. If you're gonna be rude, you don't deserve my help.

I do the classic "you're breaking up/call back again" route.

The worst part is I go to check my game on facebook. Yes I play the stupid castleville game because I get bored, and he'd made a post about a close friend hanging up on him and how he feels betrayed and blah blah blah. I'm like dude I asked you to stop and you kept going....Then I get a text saying "I deleted the thread because I don't want it to end like this" So now all his friends think I'm some heartless person who kicked a puppy or something...Irks me to no end.

I hate it when I'm texting someone and I say something and then I Get K.......

How do you expect me to answer to that?!!!! What makes it worse is that my girlfriend does it alot :(

I do that to everyone all the time...:p

Last year in September I believe it was, after the new 52 in DC comics came out I made an order at a local comic book shop. They were out of the first issue of Batman, and I told them I'd really like it and and I'd set myself up with the program they had for some of the new series.

I originally went in the store because I knew their buisness was bad, and I had just gotten a pretty ok job. So, I was doing less as in interest of ever going to the shop, as much as giving them an extra twenty or so dollars a month to try and help keep it going. I would give more, but its what I had.

The girl I was talking to at the store was nice and helpful. She signed me up, told me she would see if she could get the comic for me, and that they would call when it came in. I was pretty happy I could do something to help the community with my meager paycheck.

Its now June 16, 2012 and they called and left me a message in a rather nasty tone of why I haven't picked up anything in the past two months. It took me aback because all of this started what seems like a lifetime ago. I've since lost said job, I've unfortintly come down with a "physical condition", and I really don't go out as much as I should. So getting reemed like I was a kid over an order I barely remembered making really ticked me off.

No real end to the story yet, because I'm trying to think of how to politely tell them that they're poop out of luck, unless they're willing to take ten bucks and a smile :p
