crayon
Have been tweaking my lights and playing around with some of the texture settings. Comments/suggestions? Angry Gilmore http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l98/da_kine_brah/Renders/AngryGilmore.jpg Fantastic looking character and textures there Sockpuppet! As for the lighting, I think it's possibly a little flat, if that makes sense. Also, the parts lit by the back light/rim light are far brighter than any other part of him, which makes him look underexposed (I love that you use a back light though, so don't take it as a knock to that). I don't know what your setup is, but if it's the typical three-point lighting setup, I might suggest increasing the key light some more to give some depth as well as bring attention back to the face. And let me restate, it's a fantastic looking character, and I wouldn't normally mention anything about the lighting, but since you asked I figured I'd lend what little knowledge I have of lighting
fullMETAL
^Angry Gilmore looks like Charlie Haas in that particular re-render, which I think actually works pretty well for him. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_9E7X7R4BRjY/S8j2I8TKezI/AAAAAAAAAZs/tcvNNeYuZdA/s1600/827523877_3nuYS-M-1.jpg
bigstarry
Just curious because I want to try my hand at rendering, what program do you guys use to do so?
Blackman
Just curious because I want to try my hand at rendering, what program do you guys use to do so? DS, or Daz Studio (http://www.daz3d.com) is free and easy-to-use, and should do very well, especially if it's only face renders. You only need to pay for hair and other content. Poser is the 'best' alternative, but I heard it's more complicated and meant for 'bigger' things.

sockpuppet
Once you get the hang of the basics (and there are a few very good tutorials out there), with a bit of tweaking, learing the best use of your lights & some decent textures, you can put out a render with DAZ that's every bit as good as anything you can do in Poser, and it's far more intuitive for those of us who are not professionals. I repositioned my lights to minimize & soften the shadows without eliminating them, boosted my spotlight by about 30% and sharpened in Photoshop after the render was complete. I think he looks a bit less "washed out" though IMHO he loses some of the realistic look I tend to go for. http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l98/da_kine_brah/Renders/AngryGilmore-1.jpg Thoughts? Edit: You know, after looking at it some more, I like the new one better!
crayon
Yeah it's crazy what the difference some changes to lighting will do eh! I'll say that I prefer this latest one more as well. It's especially good for a hardened looking character like you've got here

shipshirt
Does anyone know where to find Sheik-like headwear? I've looked on the Daz site and Renderosity and even Googled it but could only find a turban, not a Keffiyeh style (like Sheik Mustafa wears)

Blackman
Thanks. Must've lost it after dl'ing the render pack. Here's a different version of the Brendon alternate I did with IMO better hair colour and lightning and the picture more centered. http://i1216.photobucket.com/albums/dd364/Marginal0/MichelleBrendon-2.jpg

Or maybe use them to take Wolf Hawkins/Tommy Cornell the AJ Styles/Ric Flair route. Maybe he could be Wolf Cornell or Cornell Hawkins
Kovic
I'm sorry that I have to ask this but after my thirty minute research I'm lost... Wasn't there a old looking re-render of Aprendiz Jr in here or have I been only dreaming about it?

Wasn't there a old looking re-render of Aprendiz Jr in here or have I been only dreaming about it? Here are the two Aprendiz Jr. re-renders that are posted on the photobucket. These are done by J Silver and jhd1 respectively. http://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx212/Cverse_Rerender/J%20Silver/Aprendiz.jpg http://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx212/Cverse_Rerender/jhd1/Aprendiz.jpg

Maybe he could be Wolf Cornell or Cornell Hawkins Haha I was thinking the same thing, that he did look a little like Cornell there. I'm going to give him another go because I think I mistakenly put in The Freak morphs when loading and it's making the face look a little rougher

CQI13
Will a third .zip/.rar file be released (with everything after the second file)? I'm going through renaming all the files to put in the "original" data folder. I know I will end up with some duplicates, but I can go through those some other time.
