We didn't get hit as bad as the eastern shore. I think most areas seen about 4inches maximum.

 

I would complain about a foot of snow too.

yeah, we got maybe an inch on the ground. Storm went farther offshore than was projected and we missed the brunt of it. New Jersey, eastern New York, and New England got hammered though. I'm certainly not complaining given this past February.

THE LEAGUE'S RUMOR MILL

 

For the most part, the League members kept to themselves over the holiday break; there are not very many new things to report this week.

 

Word comes to me from snow-covered New Jersey that Nuclear Templeton was last seen with a six-foot-wide snow shovel trying to single-handedly clean the New Jersey Turnpike after the holiday storm dumped close to twenty inches of snow on the state. I am unable to confirm reports of Nuclear getting into a fight with New Jersey DOT employees, however.

 

Louisiana was spared much of the snow that fell in the South, however the aftereffects of a holiday party hosted by Tarik Nolan are still being felt. One attendee stated that he ate enough food to keep him from being hungry again until after the start of the New Year. All of the leftover food--said to be close to seven hundred pounds' worth--was donated to homeless shelters in the Shreveport area.

 

I can confirm that the rumors regarding changing the national anthem of Portugal to a clip of Bob Sinclair screaming "Portugal LAAAAARIIIIAAAATOOOO!" are false; it was an online joke between two Portuguese wrestling fans that quickly went viral.

 

Finally, in news from across the pond, Sebastian Moore has denied rumors that he is seeking to gain office in Parliament following the end of his tenure in The League.

This is a rematch that I know Phoenix has been gearing up for, as Nolan put the first blemish on Phoenix's record this season. What those with shorter memories may forget is with that win, Nolan is 2-0 against Phoenix in League competition. I'm basically going against everything I've said before here, namely backing the big man until he breaks down, but I'm not entirely sure that Phoenix has Nolan's number. Nolan tightens the Gamma Division race with a win this week.

Current Odds: Pick 'em (no favorite)

Another rematch, one of the very few that Arrows has the edge in (he won their only other meeting this season). While another win would help Arrows out, I'm thinking that Hammerskald's momentum from his last match will be enough to keep him going here. A minor upset given the popularity, but I have Thor in this one.

Current Odds: Raaize 4-7 (Favorite), Bao 7-4

Bao won their last match-up two weeks ago, which at the time was considered a minor upset. I do not see him doing it again. On paper, Raaize is the clear favorite, and I'm not going to pick against him this week.

DELTA DIVISION (Hardcore Match): Diamond (4-6, 10%) vs. Super Century (3-7, 15%))

Current Odds: Pick 'em (no favorite)

First meeting between the two, which Century seems to hold most of the advantages in (popularity, in-ring skill, sheer willpower). However, I'm going to lean away from the paper on this one, and give the nod to Diamond on account of being the veteran in this match. Either way, it should be interesting to watch.

Current Odds: Sean 5-7 (favorite), Demonio 7-5

Sean won their last meeting, and with having far more at stake than Demonio does, I think Sean rolls in this one. If my earlier pick holds true as well, we could be looking at a new division leader after this match is done.

DELTA DIVISION: Johnny Triumph (6-4, 14%) vs. Scott Stevens (6-4, 15%)

Current Odds: Pick 'em (no favorite)

First meeting between these two, with the Delta Division lead at stake. Triumph is the vet in this one, coming in with 14 career League wins to Stevens' six. Stevens comes off as quite the all-around wrestler, while Triumph is a student of the technical game. I personally give the edge to Triumph, despite Stevens having time to recover from any injuries he may or may not have sustained in previous weeks.

ALPHA DIVISION: Nuclear Templeton (6-4, 19%) vs. Robbie Maynard (5-5, 11%)

Current Odds: Nuclear 6-7 (favorite), Maynard 7-6

This will be the rubber match in the series between the two. Templeton, despite any rumored aggression towards highway workers, is in the better physical shape, though Maynard is superior to anyone in The League at pacing himself through a match. Factor in Nuclear's higher popularity, and slight edge in in-ring skills and I'm going with the current Alpha Division leader in this one.

Current Odds: Moore 7-8 (favorite), Skabb 8-7

At stake: the Beta Division lead. Moore won their previous encounter back in week nine, Maxx is looking for revenge. The key here is Maxx's physical condition—with a bye week to recover from a near-lobotomy he might be able to take charge of his future again, but Moore's not one to be trifled with. I'm calling this as Match of the Night, and I think that by hook or by crook, Maxx evens the series here and re-assumes control of the Beta Division.
