Clarity
<p>Well im pretty furious with Valve/Steam right now.</p><p> </p><p> Brought LA Noire when it was on sale a few days ago and even though I beat all the specs supplied on Steam, the game chugs along at a ridiculous 4FPS</p><p> </p><p> I requested a refund and they flat out refused</p>
bigtplaystew
I feel your pain Clarity as I've had probelms with minimum spec requirements in the past too. Please forgive me if I'm insulting your intelligence but have you tried reducing graphical settings? That game in particular takes up a lot of resources. Jaysin
I know it got really bad reviews, but has anyone played Spartacus Legends? It's free on PSN and I've been actually having a great time with it.

hellboy2
i am struggle to get into anything at the moment, i sort of want an open world game like the old fall outs that isn't Planescape or Arcanum i don't know, i got so hyped by GTA V, i think i ruined it for myself, as i was really disappointed but in all fairness i don't think i would of enjoyed it in any shape or form as i had the perfect game in my head, also a little bit down with the final heist and the heists in general found out there is a new broken sword might check it out but if anyone has any advice on a game like the old fallout games please tell
BHK1978
Now Playing: The original Witcher (never played it, so decided I should before 3 comes out and melts my PC). How is the original Witcher? I am playing the second one for XBOX 360 and I have really been enjoying it. The sad thing is I own a version of Witcher 2 for both the PC and XBOX. The reason why is I could not get used to the controls for the PC, I even started using my 360 control but it still felt a bit clunky for lack of a better word. bigtplaystew
<p>Witcher 1 really doesn't work well on PC with a controller. I dont think it's supported on Steam. You can DL emulators and make it work but you're right they aren't tight controls.</p><p> </p><p> I loved Witcher 1 and 2. Witcher 2 is a noticeable improvement over 1 in just about every area though IMO. I think you can skip it unless you really are into the story and the lore and just want more action. If that's the case, then by all means play it. It's a fun RPG.</p>
RKOwnage
Witcher 1 is awesome, but I haven't really had the time to sit down and give as much time to Witcher 2 as I'd like. The 1st one is kinda clunky though graphically, especially through Steam. Not sure what the problem is.
DaMegaFish
<p>I've been playing some Dark Souls 2 over the past week. Haven't got big in to it yet like I did the first, but I'm hoping that changes soon. It really isn't any fault of the game, I just think its me not being as wow'd as I was when I picked up the first and got my taste of its fair but harsh gameplay.</p><p> </p><p> Really want to pick up Kerbal Space Program but am actually looking forward to Mercenary Kings the most. Currently in Early Access but full release hits on Tuesday. Very very excited.</p>

Dawn
Well, as it was really cheap on a store here, i got LEGO Harry Potter Years 1-4, it's not that of a current game but i've been having fun playing it. Hagrid falling on the start is priceless. And it is really the most complicated LEGO game that i've ever played, not saying that it is hard, but there are so much things to do i don't think i'll ever get 100% on it. Blackman
Yesterday I've been prepping Skyrim for the release of the new EGO build next weekend, bundling a couple of awesome mods (Fire Ice, Civil War & Dragon Combat Overhaul). I'm sick of restarting a game every few weeks because of updates. The thing is I'm still in the middle of deciding between SkyRe and Requiem. What are you guys playing with? RayW
Can anyone explain to me what Steam Badges are, exactly? At first I thought they were their version of Xbox Achievements or PlayStation Trophies, but then I noticed that certain badges make sets, and that you can sell / buy them on a kind of Community marketplace. Since you can sell them to other players, does that mean a full set of a certain collection has some value to it? Will I be rewarded for getting a set with something? Or should I just sell any badges I get? I'm really not sure what's going on! Haha
D-Lyrium
It's all part of the Trading Card system. Basically there are two types of 'Badges', crafted badges and achievement badges. Achievement badges are just given to you for doing certain things, for instance I have the 8 years service badge and the Summer Sale 2012 badge. These can't be traded, and are just like achievements inside games really. Crafted badges are created by collecting all the cards in a trading card set. Most of the popular games on Steam have trading cards, 50% of which you can collect by just playing the game, and the other 50% have to be traded for (each account is randomly assigned 50% of the available cards for a game, and can't collect the others so has to trade for them). Once you've got a complete set, you can craft a badge for the game (and you can 'level it up' by collecting all the cards again and crafting it a second/third/fourth etc time). Crafted badges add to your 'Steam level' which gives you mostly lame rewards, like extra Friends List slots and cosmetic profile additions. Crafting badges also earns you rewards like emoticons, Steam profile backgrounds and coupons for money off games. Generally it's a waste of time. But I guess it's not the worst thing in the world. RayW
<p>Cheers D. Yeah, it seems a waste of time. Time that could be better spent trying to get Dagenham up the footballing pyramid on Football Manager <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> I'll just continue to ignore them then, much as I did on Xbox and PlayStation.</p>
moon_lit_tears
If you don't want the badges send them to me. I collect them. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
RayW
MLT I'm going to read up a little bit more about the benefits of collecting them, if I feel the same way that D-Lyrium does about them, then I'll send them to you. I'm still in two minds as to collecting them or not.

Blackman
<p>I love Steam badges. They are useless items which apparently cause people to purchase your trading cards for 10c a piece so you can buy DLC for free. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> The actual 'rewards' of getting badges (wallpapers and steam backgrounds basically) can be bought for 5c generally.</p><p> </p><p> The 'experience' does contribute to 'leveling up' your account, as some features of steam are only accessible for higher level people.
