Grinding is weird for me. Sometimes I can't stand it, but other times, like in Final Fantasy Tactics, I love it. I guess if the gameplay itself is fun enough that it won't get monotonous I don't even think of it as grinding. Except when I'm beefing up everyone's bravery in Tactics. That was the only part that felt like a chore.

Yeah. When I emulated Final Fantasy V, it was superfun as you had the job system and you could try several builds. You were busy. If it's just slashing at mobs... no thx. But then again, I did enjoy pokemon blue. But there you actually had to beat so-called trainers. It's a little different, yet some bikeways gave me quite the headache.

A new zombie survival game is on its way out in about 4 weeks called H1Z1 made by Sony online entertainment and made with the planet side 2 engine. they are saying that there will be 1000 player mega servers for the game with crafting, building all that stuff too and well zombies too lol

Im hope full that this game will give Dayz a big kick in the butt and make them start getting there shit together. the game is a mess and for every 1 bug they fix they create 2 it seems.

Finished Bioshock Infinite today. People kept telling me it was really short, but it took me about 6 sittings over 3 weeks so that's a good length for me. When it ended I just kinda had to sit quietly for a while and do some thinking. It... Yeah. Might read up on the game later. Not 100% I understood everything that was going on.

Planned to get some work done tonight, but... Gee whiz. I don't think that's gonna happen.

I also agree on the length, and it was paced fine as well so I don't really see why it needed to be longer.

There's a file on gamefaqs that documents the audio logs, which I never truly get anyway as there's often gunfire on the background. :p A good read anyway.

The game itself was a great experience and I'd recommend it. The setting doesn't suit me (timetravel is a major turnoff), but good gameplay and a nice narrative made it all better. The flavor and amazing atmosphere makes it superb compared to other games made that year.

SPOILERS below (spoiler or hide tags don't seem to work)

Still confused about the baptation thing. He receives one af the beginning and again at the end. We realize they are one and the same entity, but it's still fuzzy. Any sci fi game with timewarps mind****s me. :( So he goes to the past to stop himself from... what exactly? Shaping Elisabeth into his own image? Than it shifts to a bunch of lighthouses supposedly containing alternate universes that spawn every possible contingency. You have to read up on the ending a little. I for one didn't realise the wacky twins were also one and the same person (partly because it's just not a logical explanation).

In the end, you're stuck in a situation where apparently everything is possible as Elisabeth can just 'fetch' it. It's a little more fuzzy than Bioshock I, that clearly makes a theme of moral deprevation. Here, it's a little less clear (to me at least) what they're trying to show or teach us. What is real exactly? It doesn't matter what you do, every possible decision is somehow resolved anyway, and accessible to you. What decision did you make exactly? Is there a world that subordinates the other potential worlds then? It all seems arbitrary then.

http://venturebeat.com/2013/04/19/understanding-bioshock-infinites-ending-ending-explanation/3/

-> So he lives two lives in one of which he becomes infertile and steals his 'other self's daughter? All this trouble because he happens to be infertile in one world? That can't possibly be the point of the game, right? Because that's kinda lame.

I love Total War: Rome 2. I really have an affection for it. But I will never be able to understand, justify, or defend how they charge ANY amount, let alone $3 (US) for the blood and gore pack. Your game costs $60... give the people some gore if they want it. Disgusting.

That said when it goes on sale I'll pay the $.50 like I did for Shogun 2.

Zombie games is not a fad imo. It's always fun to blast humanoids and justify it. I just bought Resi Revelations yesterday for the full 9€ even though I've had it and finished it on console, just because shooting critters is fun.

But like hellboy says, people are still waiting for the definitive zombie experience. Dead Island wasn't that. But it was close. I tried it but couldn't play on past a certain point.

It's not just video games. It's a fad. It started slowly with Zombieland and then the Walking Dead blew it to up to ridiculous levels. Zombies are everywhere and it's an annoying fad that's lingering for far too long just like vampires did after Twilight happened.

I've loved zombies and vampires and most things horror my entire life, but the world is far too over saturated with zombies.

There have been zombie movies for over 60 years, but that's not what I'm talking about. I'm referring to the boom that started after Zombieland came out in 2009. The mainstream couldn't have cared less about zombies or The Walking Dead comics until the TV show. I'm not talking about comic fans or horror fans here, I'm talking specifically about how zombies are every where in every form of media. It is very much like when Twilight came out and everything was vampires.

I don't put to much value to The Walking Dead as a zombie game but much more of a drama/storytelling game similar to The Wolf Among Us (I know they're the same developers). The zombies don't make the game good but the story that does it. Replace the zombies with shadow monsters or aliens and give it a story of similar quality and you would still have a wonderful tear inducing game.

I just personally feel it's more effective because of that specific background. The somewhat-"reality" of it, everything is very gritty and down to earth, whereas aliens or shadow monsters probably wouldn't hit me as hard as something like a zombie. I'm not saying it's real or realistic or anything, but it's easier to connect with characters in that scenario.
