Blackman
I also don't really like what I've seen from Elder Scrolls Online. I don't like MMO's in general because of the seemingly crappy animations. I know it has to work like that, but Skyrim does make it look more real (has to do with the 1st Person viewpoint as well obviously).

MMO's seem too much like an endless grind, killing baddies and accumulating wealth and items. In a way, Skyrim is exactly like that, but there's the narrative flavor that spices things up and makes it interesting. Recent MMO's began revaluating the importance of the narrative (I think; never 'really' played an MMO apart from Neverwinter for a day), but it's still not the same. I'd rather have the other NPC's scripted, rather than human players, who can be potential assholes.

Shadowrun seems like a great game, but I don't like the theme so have been avoiding it so far. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

The game has a lot of detailed mechanics and the mods mix a lot of that up.

I'd also recommend starting as either a duke in Ireland or the King of Poland at an early starting year. You have room to grow without a lot of opposition and you're not forced to have to deal with a ton of things as you get used to the game.

I got it for one reason: to have a 47 inch TV that cost me under $700. I bought it two years ago. They don't sell that one anymore but they sell even better TVs that are $100 cheaper and I can tell you that if you need a new TV, it's o.k. for PC gaming. I hooked a really nice gaming PC up to it when my basement flooded and my monitor got ruined. I like being able to game from my couch. There's some controller friendly steam games I play, and things tend to look pretty nice. I hooked it up to my home theater surround sound so it's a nice little departure from what I'm used to.

But PC games are designed to be played from a shorter distance from the screen in general. I'll most likely buy a monitor in the next year and get a new computer desk and everything.

It's all in what you want. I would say if you're just looking at strictly PC gaming you'd save a ton of money getting a computer monitor. A really nice Viewsonic can be had for under $250. Just remember that's designed for you to be sitting at a desk.

If you want to watch movies and play consoles games and stuff from your couch you're going to have to go bigger. So you'll sacrifice some resolution for size. And that's where the differences are. When you're close you need the finer resolutions a nice computer monitor will bring you. If you chill from a couch you dont notice the differences the finer resolutions provide, which is why you need something bigger but still nice.

So it's all in what you want. Something specific or versatile. Like I said hit the sites, check out some reviews. IF you're looking at around $200 I recommend Viewsonic monitors. I had this one:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824116580

23 inches and widescreen. It was awesome. No problems none of the common flaws many people find. I loved it and will buy another one when I get my basement back in order.
Timber
Thanks guys. I currently have a 40 inch samsung that's a pain in the butt, but i've used it for watching Netflix and hulu. Looks like my best bet is to grab a monitor and switch to the big one for non gaming stuff. It'll be nice to dump this huge beast of a monitor i got about 10 years ago. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Jaysin
I'm really bummed. I saw some gameplay footage of Prison Architect and thought it looked like something I'd really enjoy and that my laptop could actually play. So I go to Can You Run It to see if my laptop would have any issues and it requires 4GB Ram and I only have 2GB Ram. I didn't expect that at all. I guess don't judge a book by it's cover. Are there any other building/business sims like that, but that are less resource heavy? My laptop is a piece of junk. For what it's worth, here's my specs. Like I said, it's junk.
