Yup, totally missed it. Whoops! Would've picked the title match correctly, but thought Han would go over Montero.

I thought about Brick Fantana and the San Diego Streetfight today when listening to a podcast about Summerslam 1992. I'd forgotten that Rick Martel and Shawn Michaels fought in a match in which neither of them were allowed to hit the other man in the face. Classic!

Battle Tested

<br>

<br>

LIVE from the Grissom Auditorium this Saturday, Febuary, 12th, 1977

<br>

California Pro Wrestling meets Febuary head on this Saturday night as we bring to you "Battle Tested". Every championship in the company is on the line, all the biggest stars not just in California but from around the world will be there. The question is will YOU?

<br>

Heidi Brooks vs. Dixie Diamond

The experts agree that Heidi Brooks was just seconds away from losing her California Pro Wrestling Women’s Championship. With the show these ladies put on at “New Year, Old Enemies”. The fan mail, the requests have bee answered. These two ladies will clash one more time. Can Dixie Diamond find that missing piece of the puzzle and finally defeat Heidi? Or will Heidi Brooks prove one again that she’s the greatest women’s wrestler maybe in history?

<br>

“Danger” Will Roberts vs. Mad Man McMannus

The young man with “Danger” in his name certainly lived up to the title last week. He was involved in a brutal match with the giant of a man The Crusher. His loss wasn’t enough to stop him from seeking danger but after challenging The Crusher to a rematch and letting The Crusher live up to his name Will Roberts was left laying. This week he takes on an even bigger, some might say an even more dangerous man. Can “Danger” Will Roberts put last week’s destruction behind him and find a way to upset this erratic, crazed, big man? Or will “Danger” Will Robert’s thrill seeking, never say die, never back down attitude gain him his very own wheel chair before the end of the year?

<br>

Party Animals vs. The Big Game Hunters

Its no secret that the Party Animals have been tearing up the east coast defeating the biggest names in the biggest promotions. Their debut in California Pro Wrestling was a success but California Pro Wrestling has brought in a real test. The Big Game Hunters are one of the most expieranced, successful, merciless, violent teams in all of professional wrestling. Can the young Party Animals prove to California Pro Wrestling that their hype is real? Or will The Big Game Hunters use The Party Animals as THEIR stepping stone to tag team success in CPW?

<br>

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/RickyHan.jpghttp://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/VS.jpghttp://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/JimmyPower.jpg

Ricky Han vs. Jimmy Power

Ricky Han challenged Luis Montero who many believe is the best wrestler south of the border today. After having a competitive match he lost to Montero like so many others have. He now challenges what may be the Untied States version of Luis Montero. Jimmy Power is a hard hitting heavyweight. Unlike others he’s not known for his powerful drops and hard hitting fists. He’s known for his ablitlity to out wrestle anyone on the mat. Can Ricky Han get the victory on Jimmy Power that he couldn’t get on Luis Montero? Is this the match everyone will remember started Ricky Han’s success in pro wrestling? Or will this be Jimmy Power’s test run for a return to California Pro Wrestling?

<br>

Gone Hollywood vs. Las Alturas Asombrosas

Brick Fantana and “Hollywood” Mike Kinsey interrupted the New York Bad Man himself Magnum Johnson letting him and the world know that they were back home, they were back in Hollywood. After using the numbers game to get a cheating victory over Magnum Johnson it appears they have decided to put the numbers game to good use against the former California Pro Wrestling Tag Team Champions. Will Gone Hollywood defeat the former champions shooting themselves to the top of the tag team ladder? Or will Gone Hollywood have less success when its two on two than they did when it was two on one?

<br>

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/MarkKrogan_alt.jpghttp://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/VS.jpghttp://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/JasonJackson.jpg

Mark “The Lariat” Krogan vs. Jason Jackson

Mark “The Lariat” has made the most memorable debut in California Pro Wrestling history. In his case this is anything but a good thing. After defeating the young son of Edmond Jackson, Mark proceeded to deliver decapitating and vicious lariats to an unconscious and unprotected Jason Jason. CPW management was ready to let Mark Krogan’s debut match be his final match. Until Jason Jackson stepped in and put both his and his fathers name into consideration, asking that they not only keep Krogan but give Jason a rematch. Will tobacco chewing, loud mouth, violent Texan finally get a taste of his own medicine? Or has Jason signed his own early retirement papers requesting this match?

<br>

RJ Danzig vs. Luis Montero

The worlds best athlete Luis Montero meets the worlds meanest in RJ Danzig. We’re only a month into 1977 but its been a busy month for RJ Danzig. Promising that he would gain himself a championship match and then immediately afterwards blasting Kenta in the skull with a ringbell. Can RJ Danzig’s mean streak over power Luis Montero’s pure athletic ability? Or will Luis Montero continue to show the U.S fans exactly what has made him Mexico’s biggest star?

<br>

Yakuza Riot vs. Team Sumo

Never in the history of California Pro Wrestling has any man or team won a championship match in such dominating fashion. After winning the California Pro Wrestling Tag Team Championships so dominantly and quickly after returning many aren’t asking if the Yakuza Riot can hang onto the championships but how many records they will break while holding them. Can Team Sumo turn Yakuza Riots dream of becoming champions into a nightmare with an upset loss? Or will Team Sumo become the second in what could be a long line of victims for The Yakuza Riot?

Preston Holt vs. Fujiyama The Samurai

Preston Holt shocked the world defeating Fujiyama the Samurai for the California Pro Wrestling Championship. The victory left Fujiyama as the only non two time champion in CPW history. These two rivals showed they know each other better than they know themselves in the ring. Will Preston Holt put any doubts about a fluke victory to rest by defeating Fujiyama for a second straight time? Or will Fujiyama join the rest of the former CPW Champion in the two time club?

Battle Tested

<br>

<br>

Febuary 12th, 1977

Las Vegas, Nevada

The Grissom Auditorium

<br>

[We’re inside the Grissom Auditorium in Las Vegas, NV. 2,000 fans are standing, cheering as some rock ‘n roll buzzes in the background. After a few moments viewing the sold out arena Buddy Hollar and Pierce Holt greet us to CPW “Battle Tested”.]

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/BuddyHollar.jpghttp://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/PierceHolt.jpg

Buddy: Hello everyone and welcome as California Pro Wrestling presents “Battle Tested”. So much has happened since our last show. We have new CPW Tag Team Champions in Yakuza Riot, Preston Holt defeated former friend and rival Fujiyama the Samurai to become a TWO time CPW Champion…..

Pierce: We had debuts like Magnum Johnson and the crazed Texan, Mark Krogan. Guys like Gone Hollywood and Yakuza Riot came back home. What a way to start out the new year. New faces and old faces alike…

Buddy: We have several championship rematches tonight. Dixie Diamond will attempt once again to win the CPW Women’s Championship, Preston Holt will have his first defense against Fujiyama the Samurai and Yakuza Riot the new CPW Tag Team Champions will take on Team Sumo in their first title defense. Lets get down to the ring to start things off with a championship match up.

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/HeidiBrooks1977.jpghttp://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/VS.jpghttp://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/DixieDiamond.jpg

Heidi Brooks vs. Dixie Diamond

The two ladies shake hands while the crowd cheers them both on. The bell rings and the two ladies start circling each other. Heidi takes over quickly after the start of the match but Dixie uses her speed to and slender frame to slip out of a few quick mat holds by Heidi. Dixie fires back with chops, elbows and kicks trying to stay out of Heidi’s ground game. It doesn’t take long for the less experienced Dixie to make a mistake giving Heidi back control of the match. He takes the fast paced match that Dixie was giving her and slows it down taking Dixie to the mat. Heidi shoots Dixie into the ropes and she tries to catch her with her signature Flying Head Scissors. Dixie SHOVES her off and Heidi lands face first on the mat. The fans “OHHH”. Dixie dives on top for the cover ONE…TWWWO…..THREEE!!! Dixie has just ALMOST won the championship but Heidi kicks out at the last moment. Dixie calls for the Diamond Cutter another of her finishers. She locks it on, Heidi shoves her off into the ropes and catches her on a rebound with her flying Head Scissors. Dixie is thrown across the ring and Heidi quickly hooks the leg for the cover ONE…TWOOO….THREEE!!!! Heidi rolls off as the bell sounds ensuring her victory. The fans are cheering and once again Heidi helps Dixie up from the mat the two embrace but Dixie is very upset with herself.

Winner via Pinfall @ 11:45 Heidi Brooks

MATCH RATING: C-

Buddy: Dixie was just seconds away from becoming CPW Women’s Champion but somehow, someway Heidi battled back AGAIN to retain that championship…

Pierce: Dixie is very good, if I was ranking them they would be number one and two in the world but unfortunately for Dixie she’s the two seed in this one. I said it before and I’ll say it again, Heidi Brooks is in the zone like no other athlete in California Pro Wrestling…

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/DangerWillRoberts.jpghttp://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/VS.jpghttp://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/MadManMcMannus.jpg

“Danger” Will Roberts vs. Mad Man McMannus

Buddy: Last week Will Roberts almost beat The Crusher, after he suffered a particularly brutal loss he got on the microphone and challenged The Crusher to come back in the ring. After The Crusher destroyed him for a second time leaving him laying we haven’t heard much from young Will Roberts…

Pierce: Will Roberts is an underdog in California Pro Wrestling. Men are 300, 400 pounds, seven feet tall or right at it. Will has got to rely on two things. His speed and his brain if he’s going to be successful. He didn’t use his brain challenging The Crusher and here’s hoping that experiment is behind him…

Roberts avoids Mad Man for most of the match before jumping into a bear hug later in the match. The fans quickly get behind Roberts and he boses Mad Man’s ears causing him to fall to the mat. He uses his dropkick stragtegy to bring Mad Man down to size. He shoots himself off the ropes, Madman catches him with one arm, he’s going to slam him but Roberts wiggles around and pulls him into a school boy. The fans erupt in cheers as Roberts is holding onto the pinfall for dear life. ONE….TWO….THREE!!!! “Danger” Will Roberts quickly slides off of Mad Man allowing the referee to raise his hand in victory. Will is grinning and playing it up with the crowd while basking in the glow of his first victory of the year.

Winner via Pinfall @ 7:44 “Danger” Will Roberts

MATCH RATING: D

Buddy: What a tremendous come back victory for “Danger” Will Roberts. He was in the ring against one of the most dangerous men in this business and he lived up to his name tonight…

While “Danger” Will Roberts is celebrating with the fans Mad Man has jumped back to his feet. His giant frame is seething as he grabs hold of the smaller Roberts whipping him around. McMannus looks for a huge right, Will ducks and dropkicks him into the ropes. MacMannus comes back with a boot to the head of Danger but he ducks again and dropkicks him into the other side of the ropes. The fans are on their feet encourage will as he sling shots himself off the ropes with a BIG dropkick to the head of Mad Man sending him UP and OVER the top rope to the arena floor. Mad Man is FURIOUS pounding the mat in frustration. Will is poised in the ring ready for anything before McMannus decides to just walk away. Will turns his back and once again is playing it up with the ringside crowd.

Buddy: Its like we’re seeing the transformation of “Danger” Will Roberts right before our eyes. He’s avoided what could have been a nasty attack by Mad Man and he secured the victory. What a moment for this young kid…

Pierce: You have to respect the obstacles this kid has hurdled on this night alone. If he can do this tonight we might see him in a CPW Championship match someday…

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/DangerWillRoberts.jpghttp://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/TheCrusher.jpg

While the announcers are heaping praise on Will Roberts the fans loving cheers have turned to boos. Will seems confused before he slowly turns to see his worst nightmare in the ring staring back at him. The Crusher has slowly made his way down to the ring while Will’s back was turned and now he’s staring Will in the face. Will wastes no time charge at The Crusher. A BIG BOOT to the face drops Will to the mat and the fans stop their booing just long enough to groan in pain alongside Will. The Crusher picks up Will and pulls him into a bear hug. He walks around the ring shaking the life out of Will Roberts. Security has surrounded the ring so The Crusher gets a running start and DROPS to the mat CRUSHING Will Roberts into the ring. With that The Crusher walks off leaving Will Roberts laid out in the middle of the ring. The boos are getting louder as The Crusher exits the arena just as slow as he entered it. Security and the medical team alike are in the ring checking on Will Roberts.

SEGMENT RATING: A

Buddy: This is uncalled for. Will Roberts did nothing to provoke this evil monster and yet he was still on the receiving end of a complete destruction…

Pierce: I don’t know if it was carry over from last week, or maybe The Crusher and Mad Man McMannus have some sort of unknown alliance. Either way something should be done about The Crusher’s actions here tonight…

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/DirkBonell_alt.jpghttp://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/ChaseAllen_alt.jpghttp://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/VS.jpghttp://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/Vandemar.jpghttp://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/Vandemar.jpg

The Party Animals vs. The New Zealand Big Game Hunters

The Party Animals start out strong against the more experienced tag team. They use quick tags and double team moves to work on both Croup and Vandemar. Finally Chase makes a mistake and gets himself into the wrong corner. Vandemar and Croup do a blind tag and start cutting the ring off quickly. The cheers for young Chase Allen quickly turn to disdain and boos for the evil New Zealand Tag Team. They take him apart using several illegal tag team moves and Chase is really hurting. Dirk Bonnel tries to get in the ring several times but it just gives the Big Game Hunters more time to double team Chase. Vandemar has Chas in his grips holding him in the corner. Croup comes charging in, Chase moves out of the way and the two men collide. The booing crowd ROARS to life with cheers. Chase with a double clothesline and finally a last minute desperation tag to Dirk Bonnel. Dirk is on fire clearing the ring while Chase regains his strength in the corner. Vandemar jumps up on the apron and Chas dropkicks him off. Croup from behind is picked up and SPINEBUSTERED down. Chase from the top with a senten bomb and Dirk covers ONE….TWO….THRE!!! The Party Animals win as the ladies in the audience shriek with cheers. Dirk and Chase high five in the ring, smiling and living it up for the ladies just a bit.

Winners via Pinfall @ 12:27 The Party Animals

MATCH RATING: D+

Buddy: What a tag team match up we just saw. Chase Allen, Dirk Bonnel the Party Animals with their second victory this month in California Pro Wrestling…

Pierce: They took on a bigger, more experienced tag team from across the world and still came out with a victory. I know these guys are young and they got a long way to go but their on their way Buddy Hollar.

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/RickyHan.jpghttp://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/VS.jpghttp://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/JimmyPower.jpg

Ricky Han vs. Jimmy Power

Buddy: Jimmy Power was a regular in California Pro Wrestling for years, I’ve had the pleasure of calling his matches in Florida as well. The guy may be bigger than a lot of mat technicians but he’s one of the best in the business…

Pierce: Ricky Han may not be on that level yet but I like the opponents he picks. Luis Montero, Jimmy Power these guys are top of the class, world level pro wrestlers. He’s in there with the best and that’s how you become the best…

Ricky refuses to shake hands to start the match and he locks up with Jimmy Power. Jimmy with his size and mat skill just dominates Ricky Han in the early going. Ricky complains to the referee about an injury. The referee pauses the match and Ricky uses that as a chance to get in an unprotected shot on Jimmy Power. He starts with some lethal martial art kicks to the sides of Jimmy Power. Jimmy is backed into the corner Han with a spin kick and Power drops to the mat. The fans are in shock as Ricky quickly covers ONE….TWO….NO, Power kicks out. Han stays on him with several stomps and a lethal knee to the skull. Ricky Han is calling for the Wrap Up (arm bar kick to the face). Han pulls Power up wrapping Jimmy’s arm around in an arm wringer. Han looks for a kick to the side of the head, Power ducks and SLAMS Han to the mat. Power leaps up on the second rope, spins, and jumps off with an INCREDIBLE SPLASH. The fans cheering as Power quickly hooks the leg getting the pinfall. Jimmy rolls out of the ring to greet the ringside fans while Ricky Han stomps the mat frustrated with losing the match…

Winner via Pinfall @ 13:41 Jimmy Power

MATCH RATING: C-

Buddy: That will do it for this one. Ricky Han with those kicks had Jimmy Power on the ropes so to speak but Jimmy is one of the best in the business, he waited for an opening at the last possible second and nailed that big time signature move of his the Incredible Splash….

Gone Hollywood vs. Las Alturas Asombrosas

Buddy: We get to see the team of “Hollywood” Mike Kinsey and Brick Fantana in tag action after their re debut last week. What an important match this is for both teams. Gone Hollywood obviously want to get back in the title hunt and their in there against the former champions…

Pierce: It’ll be nice to see Gone Hollywood in tag team action and not just cheating to beat new guy Magnum Johnson….that being said you almost have to think the winner of this match would be due a title shot sometime soon from Yakuza Riot if they can hang onto them…

Hollywood Mike instantly tries to start ripping off the mask of Zenith. It prevents them from doing too much high flying as their more focused on keep their matches intact. Mike and Brick cut off the ring and do as much time working on removing the masks as they do wrestling holds. Finally Zenith slides under a double back body drop attempt and nails a double dropkick. The fans go while as Zenith tags in the other half of the former tag team champions. Pinaculo is clearing house and now both members of Gone Hollywood are on the outside. Zenith and Pinaculo look at each other and then out to the cheering crowd before hitting SUICIDE DIVES on Gone Hollywood. The Grissom Auditorium is rocking with cheers as Pinaculo rolls Brick back into the ring. Zenith keeps the out of it Mike Kinsey on the outside. Inside Zenith bends down and Brick with LOW BLOW. The referee warns him and the fans react with boos. Brick RIPS the mask from Pinaculo. The proud luchador clutches his face not wanting to be seen and with that Brick rolls him up for the quick win. The fans are booing while Brick laughingly tosses the mask into the crowd. Zenith staggers to the back hiding his face leaving Pinaculo all alone with Gone Hollywood.

Winners via Pinfall @ 11:38 Gone Hollywood

MATCH RATING: C

Buddy: What a cheap way to win this match, they exploited the culture of these luchadors to gain a victory…

Pierce: More importantly Buddy, Zenith has left his tag team partner in the ring with Gone Hollywood…

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/HollywoodMikeKinsey_alt.jpghttp://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/Pinaculo.jpghttp://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/BrickFantana.jpg

After Zenith ran off to the back Pinaculo is now cornered by both members of Gone Hollywood. They toss the former tag team champion into the ring. The fans are booing, shouting for security. Brick grabs the house mic while Hollywood keeps Pinaculo cornered in the turnbuckle.

Brick: Before we give you the beating you deserve and rip that mask off for the entire world to see that mug of yours I just want to say….its not personal. Its just we got Japs, Mexicans, and worst of all NEW YORKERS invading CALIFORNIA Pro Wrestling. It won’t be long before all the decent women out there are ran off by you creeps. So the only way Hollywood there and myself we don’t like taking matters into our own hands inside OR outside the ring if ya know what I mean……but sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do. So to make sure we get the kind of action we want INSIDE and OUTSIDE the ring we’re gonna have to play a little rough….

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/MagnumJohnson.jpg

[With that Brick drops the mic and Hollywood tosses Pinaculo to Brick. Brick picks up Pinaculo and DROPS him with the Sex Panther Plunge (Brainbuster). The fans are booing as Mike Kinsey and Brick are now ripping and tearing at the young luchador’s mask. The fans boos become an ERUPTION of cheers. Out from the back in sunglasses and a leather jacket is Magnum Johnson.]

Buddy: MAGNUM JOHNSON IS CHARGING TO THE RING!!! Things are going to get real interesting real quick…..just how “battle tested” are Gone Hollywood? We’re about to find out….

[Magnum Johnson slides into the ring causing Brick and Mike to dive out of the ring quickly. The fans are on their feet while Magnum is SCREAMING, BEGGING, Gone Hollywood to get back into the ring. The boos get louder and more intense as Brick waves off Magnum while him and Mike back their way out of the arena. Magnum bends down to check on Pinaculo still shouting and exchanging words with both members of Gone Hollywood.]

SEGMENT RATING: B-

Buddy: For all that talk, for all that bravado and what happened? They ran away like scolded dogs the minute somebody came out to do something about it. What happened to wanting to rid this place of New Yorkers? They had their chance and ran away at the first sign of trouble. Gone Hollywood may have bit off more than they can chew with this “New Yorker” Magnum Johnson…

Mark “The Lariat” Krogan vs. Jason Jackson

Buddy: Fans two weeks ago Mark Krogan debuted in California Pro Wrestling to face off against second generation superstar Jason Jackson. He won the match fair and square. However what happened AFTER the match was uncalled for and in my view classless. Mark proceeded to give an unconscious Jason Jackson MULTIPLE lariats while he couldn’t defend himself. We’re told Jason’s spent the last two weeks in and out of doctors office but he REQUESTED this rematch…

Pierce: Mark is like a rabid animal, you can’t control him you can only help to contain him. I know Preston came out to sort of stare Mark off of Jason last week but I honestly believe anybody that’s in the ring with Mark is in extreme danger. It just happened to be a kid that had a few high profile friends in the back. That being said this kid is asking for trouble asking for a rematch two weeks after Krogan nearly ended his career. If he was merciless and vicious when Jason was just another face, imagine what he’s going to be like tonight knowing Jason CHALLENGED him…

The bell rings and the crowd in Las Vegas are completely silent as these two men walk to center ring. The referee is right there as Jason SLAPS Krogan in the face before tackling him to the mat. The fans EXPLODE with cheers. Jason and Krogan brawl on the mat with Jason mounting and drilling multiple rights and lefts into Krogan. He pauses and Krogan flashes him a smile absorbing the punishment. Krogan tosses Jason off getting back to his feet. Jason is RIGHT back on Krogan this time tacking Krogan to the outside. Jason and Krogan are just throwing fists and the referee is reluctant to call it a count out. Jason bounces Krogan’s head off of everything tied down and not on the outside. Krogan finally fights back, shrugging off the hard hits by Jason and tossing him into the stands. Krogan is just POUNDING on Jason in the front row pauses to throw some tobacco in his mouth. Finally the referee gets some sort of order in this thing letting the fight head to the inside of the ring.

Buddy: Pierce this isn’t a wrestling match this is literally a FIGHT….

Pierce: Its been a long time since I seen two guys go at each other like this, no wrestling holds, no pinfall attempts, just standing up and throwing fists. Jason Jackson is proving to Mark Krogan he’s a man and he deserves respect…

Back in the ring Jackson flies off the ropes with a back elbow. Krogan staggers backwards, Jackson again off the ropes with a running knee to the gut. Krogan is doubled over Jackson with a running sunset flip and a cover ONE…TWO….NO Krogan powers out. Jason continues to play the hit and miss offense and although he doesn’t get a high impact move he keeps Krogan guessing. Finally Jason climbs up to the second rope while Krogan is down, he’s looking for an elbow. He looks out to the fans, before glancing at the announcer.

Buddy: I don’t know what Jason Jackson has planned but he might be just seconds away from the biggest win of his career…

Pierce: He’s looking over here, I don’t know what the kid has planned but if he pins Krogan here tonight he’ll get that respect that he literally fought for tonight….

He signals for an Elbow but Krogan is up, Jason turns to dive and Krogan with a LARIAT to Jason Jackson on the second rope. Jason collapses to the ring mat the fans cheering has been silenced. Krogan mounts Jackson and just starts pounding him in the head with hard rights and lefts. Jason is unresponsive. The referee gets in there to check on Jason. Krogan shoves him away placing an unconscious Jason Jackson, slumped in the turnbuckle. The volume of boos is increasing as Krogan backs up and charges in DECAPITATING Jason Jackson with his second lariat. Jason falls to the mat, still unconscious. Krogan refusing to pin Jackson picks him up again. This time the referee finally calls for the bell declaring Krogan the winner by knockout. The fans are booing as Krogan sets Jackson in the corner again.

Winner via Knockout @ 9:22 Mark “The Lariat” Krogan

MATCH RATING: C+

Buddy: WHAT A VICIOUS LARIAT THAT WAS!!!! Krogan for the second time in four weeks has just decimated the young Jason Jackson…

Pierce: Buddy this can’t go on, I’m not going to stand back and let Mark Krogan do this again. If security doesn’t rescue this kid I will….

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/MarkKrogan.jpghttp://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/JasonJackson.jpg

Krogan SPITS the tobacco he place in his mouth earlier into the unconscious face of Jason Jackson. Krogan backs off of the unconscious second generation wrestler while the referee threatens to reverse the decision. Krogan shoves the referee to the outside and at this point security are having to hold fans back from coming over the guard rail. Krogan looks on at the unconscious Jason Jackson with the tobacco spit running down his face while he’s slumped in the corner. Krogan reaches out of the ring picking up his cowbell and the fans are going NUTS with hatred for Mark Krogan.

Buddy: This is the single worst act I’ve ever seen by a damn human being, somewhere, somebody needs to do something this psycho, crazed Texan has a damn cowbell in his hand. God knows what he’s got planned for that thing…

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/EdmondJackson_alt.jpg

The seething hatred from the crowd receives a BURST of cheers. Edmond Jackson is running down to the ring. Krogan turns just in time to get tackled to the mat by Edmond Jackson. The two men are rolling around on the mat trying to gain the upper hand. The applause for Edmond Jackson is deafening. Both men are to their feet and security RUSH in separating them. The fans are booing security they want to see them go at it. Both men are fighting to get to one another but there is just too much security. Their dragged in opposite ways out of the arena while all 2,000 fans stand watching as these two men are unwillingly dragged from the arena.

SEGMENT RATING: A

Buddy: Just when things looked the worst for Jason Jackson his dad arrives to the building. Edmond Jackson and Mark Krogan are both being forced out of the building but I’d go a step further and put them both on lockdown somewhere. The city of Las Vegas could have some real damage dealt to it if those two get ahold of each other tonight…

Pierce: Mark Krogan has messed with Edmond’s family and I guarantee you Edmond’s not going to rest until revenge has been had….

RJ Danzig vs. Luis Montero

Buddy: Last week RJ Danzig said he had an announcement, he promised that he would go through everyone in California Pro Wrestling to get his chance to become CPW Champion…he defeated Kenta last week with a ring bell to the head and he’s got another tough test this week. The young superstar from Mexico, Luis Montero…

Pierce: The problem was he went up against Kenta and the only way he could be him is by nailing him in the head with a ring bell. RJ’s one of the most talented men in the business and he has the mean streak to go along with it. I have to say though if he ever wants to do anything more than talk he’s going to have to start winning matches the right way..

Danzig starts out in control with some mean spirited brawling. It doesn’t take Montero long to fight back and use his quickness to start controlling Danzig. After several minutes of Danzig’s holds being slipped out of and countered he finally bails to the outside. Montero dives from the apron onto RJ for a cross body block. Back in the ring its not long before Danzig has to take another break to the outside trying his best to slow down Montero’s quick offensive onslaught. This time when Montero comes out to the apron Danzig catches him with a low blow and rolls him back in the ring. Danzig slows it down with some mat work and tough brawling on Montero. RJ mocks Montero by putting him down with a BIG piledriver ONE….TWO….NO, Montero’s foot under the ropes saves him from being pinned. The fans are cheering Montero on, hoping the applause will spark a comeback. Danzig rolls out to the ring and is fishing around under the ring for something. Montero stumbles to his feet catching sight of it pulling Danzig back into the ring. Dazing stashes something in elbow pad NAILING Montero with a hard elbow. Whatever it was has helped send Montero to the mat clutching his head. Danzig climbs to the second rope calling for his second rope elbow drop he calls the “Unholy Dive”. The fans are booing as he takes his time measuring Montero and jawing with ringside fans.

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/KentaMatsamura1977.jpg

Out from the back comes Kenta. Danzig is telling Kenta to head to the back this is none of his business. Kenta is telling the referee what happened. Montero is up and he shakes the ropes causing Danzig to fall face first to the mat. The fans are cheering him on, Danzig is up and he’s still jawing with Kenta. Montero with a kick to the gut and a JUMPING Piledriver! The fans cheering as Kenta walks away the referee counts ONE…TWO….THREE!!! Danzig has lost the match. Montero wastes no time rolling out of the ring and towards the back with his arms held high in victory.

Winner via Pinfall @ 11:33 Luis Montero

MATCH RATING: B-

Buddy: Kenta has given Danzig a taste of his own medicine. He wasn’t about to let Luis Montero suffer the same fate he did last week…

Pierce: Danzig is an experienced vet and he really let Kenta get in his head tonight and you gotta hand it to Luis Montero. He saw and opening and planted Danzig with that nasty looking jumping piledriver. Heck Danzig still hasn’t moved from the mat….

Danzig is starting to stir on the mat while the fans ringside mock him for his loss. He slowly staggers and stumbles to his feet still dizzy, clutching his head. Kenta is staring on just in front of the entracnce curtain. Danzig rolls out of the ring grabbing the house mic. Without pausing he starts shouting over the cheering fans.

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/RJDanzig.jpg

RJ Danzig: KENTA! KENTA! You listen here, I don’t give a damn who you think you are boy. You’re messing with RJ Danzig, you just stuck your nose in something that wasn’t none of your damn business and now its up to mean to chop the damn thing off. You’re a marked man Kenta. Just like I made a promise to become CPW Champion, I’m promising these gambling addict idiots, and I’m promising you that you’ll grow to regret tonight….

[With that RJ drops the house mic and staggers around on the outside while being mocked by fans. Danzig is having a lot of trouble recovering from that jumping piledriver. Kenta just chuckles a bit before disappearing behind the curtain.]

Yakuza Riot vs. Team Sumo

Buddy: Here in California Pro Wrestling we boast the most diverse roster on the planet. So far tonight this is our FIFTH different country represented here at CPW “Battle Tested”. Yakuza Riot won the championships just last week in dominating fashion. Their taking on bigger, younger, and fresher opponents….

Pierce: These two are machines, the only two things they know are tag team wrestling and how to win. Team Sumo are big and their talented guys but these Yakuza Riot they have been trying to win these championships for several years, I just have to believe its going to take an amazing effort to take the championships from them…

The Yakuza Riot start out in the same form they left their last match. They are just too dominating for the Samoan tag team. A few times the challengers are able to use their size and weight advantage to mount a comeback. Those comebacks are short due to the violent striking and hard hitting moves the Yakuza Riot are performing. Each chop, each elbow and kick land harder and make a louder noise than the last. Team Sumo’s sheer size keeps them in the match, absorbing a ton of punishment. Finally the Yakuza Riot nail a double mafia kick to the face and cover for the One….Two…..Three. The fans are deathly silent witnessing The Yakuza Riot run over another successful tag team for their first title defense.

Winners via Pinfall @ 12:03 Yakuza Riot

MATCH RATING: C

[After the Yakuza Riot clear the ring Buddy Hollar enters the ring to greet the Las Vegas crowd for the main event. The fans are starting to stir back to life in anticipation of the main event.]

Buddy: Ladies and Gentlemen it is that time of the evening again. It is time for California Pro Wrestling’s “Battle Tested”’s MAIN EVENT!

[The fans spark back to life with cheers in part because of Buddy’s charismatic abilities.]

Buddy: Introducing first, he is a FORMER California Pro Wrestling Champion, he is the number one contender, coming from Akita, Japan….he IS….FUUUUUJIYAMA THE SAMURAAAAI

[The boos fill the arena as Fujiyama comes out without his mocking bow that he usually includes with his entrance. He steps into the ring and locks his eyes on the entrance curtain awaiting his opponent for the evening.]

Buddy: And his opponent, he is the TWO TIME California Pro Wrestling Champion, he comes to us from Sacramento, California. He IS PREEEEEESTON HOOOOOLT!!!!

[The fans leap from their seats with cheers as Preston comes out from behind the curtain. He has the CPW Championship tightly fitted around his waist, glaring right back at Fujiyama. Preston stalks to the ring while neither him or Fujiyama take their eyes off of one another. The referee holds the championship in the air and calls for the bell.]

Buddy: This match is going to be intense, its going to be brutal, and its going to be GOOD!

Piece: Buddy I don’t know if you’re away but out of ALL the champions if California Pro Wrestling history Fujiyama is now the only man to never hold the championship twice….wouldn’t it be interesting if he took the championship right back here tonight?

Preston Holt vs. Fujiyama The Samurai

As the bell rings the two men are face to face in the ring. Fujiyama with a HARD slap to Preston. The fans “OHHH” and Preston is right back with a BIG forearm that stuns Fujiyama. From there its on as the two men start a striking contest of chops, elbows, forearms and even a few hard right hands. All 2,000 fans are standing as these two men go toe to toe in the center of the ring. You can see the swelling appearing on both men’s faces early on. Fujiyama wins the striking contest with a leaping kick to the side of the head. Preston goes down and Fujiyama uses his quickness to dominate Preston on the mat. The fans cheers start to fall silent until Preston is backed into the corner, he stops a kick to the head and drops Fujiyama on the mat. Preston’s looking for the Silver Shooter (sharp shooter) but Fujiyama is in the ropes. The referee makes him break it and Fujiyama with a cheap kick gains back control of the match. Every time Preston starts to make a comeback Fujiyama shuts it right back down.

Buddy: These two men know each other so well, Preston just can’t get anything started…

Pierce: Preston’s in a bad way, that early striking contest didn’t end well for him and I think the kicks, chops and elbows have taken a toll on Preston’s ability to stay in the match. Fujiyama came to fight and win back his championship. I hate to say it….

Fujiyama is hammering Preston with vicious elbows to the face before throwing him to the mat. Fujiyama taunting the fans before grabbing Preston’s feet. It looks like Fujiyama is going to win back the championship with Preston’s signature hold. Preston quickly rolls Fujiyama up for a quick two count before both men are back to their feet. Fujiyama gets a back body drop and several knees to the back. The fans have come alive again as Preston is working over the back of Fujiyama. Preston looks to finally lock in the Silver Shooter, Fujiyama grabs Preston and MONKEY Flips him across the ring. Preston lands hard and Fujiyama is back on his feet. He charges in for a dropkick, Preston side steps, swats it down and locks in the Silver Shooter!!!! The fans are standing and once again Fujiyama is in the middle of the ring. He’s fighting, crawling, scratching, he can’t move and then Preston sits down with the Silver Shooter. All 2,000 in attendance are standing. Fujiyama is REFSUING to give up, Preston is sitting down even hard on it. You can HEAR him shrieking, and shouting in Japanese. Then suddently the shouting stops and Fujiyama falls to the mat. The referee raises his hand and it drops twice. Preston cinches in tighter and finally his hand falls for a third time. The referee calls for the bell and Preston holt lets go retaining his championship.

Winner via Submission @ 16:48 Preston Holt

Buddy: Preston Holt, we’ve talked about it before a champion has to be able to battle back and he did it tonight. The Samurai had his number, in fact he was moments away from getting beat with his own move but he battle back and was able to knock out the challenger…

Pierce: That’s what did it right there. Preston is so proud of that hold, he’s put so much time into it. When Fujiyama tried to lock in that hold and take Preston’s signature hold AND his championship. That switch in Preston’s head flipped on and he did what he does best, get the comeback win…

Buddy: Wrestling fans thank you so much for joining us and until next time good night and God Bless…

Thanks Codey as always I'm keeping up to date with yours as well :)

Hot is really solid. He's like a Robert Oxford. He's good but he's not great. He's got good psychology and good technical skills. He's not Cornell or Keith good but I liken it to being a regional promotion with Robert Oxford on a written contract since he's the owner and all it works out nicely for the time being.

I've managed to miss predicting twice, and I apologize. Like that you're doing '77 and that you're using CPW. Makes for a much different feel for things. Great work on the first two shows.

Thanks for checking it out BP, knowing a first ballot hall of famer is looking at my show is always nice to know 

I agree. Another very good show. I was shocked that Danger went over Mad Man. I MUST be the only person who loves McMannus!

Trust me you are NOT the only one that loves him. I decided not to go the Danzig/McMannus route but what I have planned for McMannus is going to take a few months but he is going to be an important part of this series in the coming months.

Stennick, I never really gave two thoughts about CPW, but you are making it interesting for sure dude. Keep it coming.

Thank you CMDRSAM means a lot coming from you. I know you’re a vet of these dynasty boards so having you looking at it is always nice.

No way. Theres you, me and... Comradebot im 99% sure

Nice show. Im liking the Lariat stuff and Will Roberts

The Lariat stuff is going to continue to be the main focus of the show for several months and in my opinion it gets better every show.

Everybody else that commented thank you so much. I’m glad I’ve gotten such positive feedback from these shows. I’ll have the preview for the next show “Out of State Plates” up later on tonight. Thank you again to everybody.

Never before have we seen a man embrace his namesake the way “Danger” Will Roberts does. First he faced off against a Crusher, then a Mad Man and now this week a homicidal maniac. Can Charlie Homicide force Will Roberts to be known as “Caution” rather than “Danger”? Or will “Danger’s” success against his opponents continue for a second straight week?

Gone Hollywood vs. The War Eagles

Ever since Brick Fantana and “Hollywood” Mike Kinsey showed back up they have made it clear that Los Angles and California are THEIR home. Waging war against foreigners and out of state men like Mangum Johnson alike while climbing their way up the tag team ranks. In Portland Oregan they get to wage war on two east coast athletes. The former football athletes and dorm roommates look to make a big name for themselves in tag team wrestling by taking out one of the top tag teams in California Pro Wrestling history.

Luis Montero vs. Extordinaro

Luis Montero has shown that he may be the best overall athlete in all of California Pro Wrestling. He’s secured victories over California Pro Wrestling’s biggest names already like RJ Danzig. This show he’ll face off against a man that may be able to match him hold for hold, move for move. Extordinaro one of the most exciting wrestlers in the world makes his long awaited debut in California Pro Wrestling. Is Extordinaro the key to slowing down Luis Montero’s impressive victories? Or will Luis Montero remind Extordinaro why people are already calling him the best wrestler in Mexico?

Kenta Matsamura vs. Fujiyama the Samurai

Fujiayma just lost his rematch for the California Pro Wrestling Championship. He has wasted no time targeting at top contender for the championship in Kenta Matsamura. With these two orient icons going head to head who will come out the winner? Will Fujiyama’s rage over losing back to back shows to Preston Holt help or hinder? Will Kenta focus on Fujiyama or RJ Danzig lurking somewhere beyond?

Yakuza Riot vs. The Jacksons

Every doctor in the United States has asked Jason Jackson to take some time off. Jason is just starting his career and has refused medical consultation. Instead Jason is looking to team with his legendary father for a chance at Gold. The Yakuza Riot haven’t just been winning they have been dominating their opponents like never before seen in the CPW Tag Team division. Will the Yakuza Riot mercilessly take advantage of young Jason’s neck problems? Or will Edmond’s experience tagging with his son supply him with the surge he needs to propel his family to victory?

Preston Holt vs. RJ Danzig

Danzig has been shouting for two months that he deserves a title shot after being in California Pro Wrestling for over a year now. Preston Holt being the defending champion he is has granted him this wish. In Portland Oregon, at CPW “Out of State Plates” will RJ Danzig finally realize his goal of becoming CPW Champion? Or will Preston Holt continue whats looking to be a successful title reign?

Heidi Brooks vs. Melissa Monroe - CPW Womens Championship Match

Never bet against Heidi.

"Danger" Will Roberts vs. Charlie Homicide

I can't see Charlie Homicide altering a storyline that Mad Man McMannus failed to change!

Gone Hollywood vs. The War Eagles

Gone Hollywood is one of my favorite teams while the War Eagles are relative unknowns, particularly in the Southwest.

Luis Montero vs. Extordinaro

Push him to the moon - until he decides to stay in Mexico full-time.

Kenta Matsumra vs. Fujiyama the Samurai

Needs to rebuild heat for another rematch against Preston.

Yakzua Riot vs. The Jacksons - CPW Tag Team Championship Match

Could go either way, I think. Perhaps Stan Hansen, erm, I mean Mark Krogan, spits tobacco in the eye of one of the Jacksons to turn the tide.

RJ Danzig vs. Preston Holt - CPW Championship Match

Sorry RJ, ain't happenin'.
