CALIFORNIA DREAM'N

Its 1977 and we're on the verge of closing out the biggest decade in the history of North American Pro Wrestling. With 14 active Professional Wrestling promotions in North America ten of them reside in the United States.

With all of the success of professional wrestling this decade people are fearing we may not have another like it. Richard Eisen's Supreme Wrestling Federation and Terry Lambert's American Pro Wrestling Federation are quickly making this a two man race. With their positioning on the media powerful east coast, along with their deep pockets they have made the push to move pro wrestling from its regional roots and into monstrous, national powerhouses. Both men are ruthless, both men are competing with themselves and the other to be recognized as THE brand in professional wrestling.

As irony would have it something completely opposite to the east coast is happening on the west coast. Instead of relying on bad acting and second rate stunt doubles Preston Holt and his brother Pierce have taken a different strategy to present pro wrestling to the masses. They use a violent, hard hitting, high impact style to compliment one of the most diverse rosters in the world which represents men from each continent that hosts pro wrestling

Will Richard Eisen and Terry Lambert's arms race tear down everything in its path? Will these two ruthless businessmen cause the end of the biggest boom in professional wrestling history? Or can Preston and Pierce Holt present the world to a grittier, more realistic style of pro wrestling?

Stay tuned to find out. Its 1977 and this is California Pro Wrestling.

Heidi Brooks vs. Dixie Diamond

Fan favorite Heidi will defend her CPW Women’s Championship against another fan favorite in Dixie Diamond. Dixie has come so close to capturing this championship on several occasions. Will this new year and fresh start be what she finally needs to become the top women’s wrestler in the world?

“Danger” Will Roberts vs. The Crusher

His name says it all. “Danger” Will Roberts does not back down from fear, he charges into danger and tonight he will have to put that to test. He faces his most “dangerous” challenge yet when he collides with The Crusher. Can “Danger” Will Roberts continue to push himself up the CPW ladder? Or will The Crusher…..CRUSH Will’s dreams of becoming a major player in pro wrestling?

Ricky Han vs. Luis Montero

Ricky Han has trained in Mexico, and he’s toured in Japan. He makes his debut in the most competitive pro wrestling company in the world when he takes on Mexico’s pride Luis Montero. Ricky has just finished up an exciting tour of Japan as well as a new movie. Luis finishes up an amazing streak of victories in Mexico. Both men are making their debut tonight but which one will make an impact?

Mark “The Lariat” Krogan vs. Jason Jackson

Mark Krogan is a legend in Texas and known throughout Florida. Of course he’s not a legend in walking little old ladies across the street. He’s a legend for carrying his trademark cowbell and tobacco with him to the ring. He’s a legend for the most feared signature move in all of professional wrestling with his Lariat. Mark Krogan has made his way to the city of sin and judging by his past accomplishments he’ll feel right at home. He’s taking on a second generation superstar. Jason Jackson has been on the road with his father Edmond since he was a little boy. Its no doubt Jason will be tested but we have already seen he won’t give up or give in. Jason Jackson isn’t the only one that’s in for a fight when these two lock up.

The Party Animals vs. Billy Blue & The Red Raider

These college kids have been getting a reaction from more than the ladies with their recent tag team dominance of the east coast. These Party Animals have made their way to CPW and Las Vegas where they will debut against the veteran team of Billy Blue and The Red Raider. This masked team might not be as flashy or charismatic as The Party Animals but there is no doubt it would make the Party Animals seeing stars in the neon city of Las Vegas.

Magnum Johnson DEBUTS

From the mean, tough streets of Harlem, New York comes Magnum Johnson. Having just signed a contract with California Pro Wrestling earlier today Buddy Hollar will give the fans in the Grissom Auditorium their first look at the self proclaimed “Bad Man”. Will Magnum’s success carry over into the toughest pro wrestling company in the world?

Yakuza Riot vs. Las Alturas Asombrosas

Yakuza Riot have long been mainstays of California Pro Wrestling. They have came so close to becoming CPW Tag Team Champions on several occasions. They have reunited with a greater focus than ever on becoming Tag Team Champions. Will the most exciting team in all of CPW hold off the merciless Yakuza Riot? Or will the Yakuza Riot’s new found focus be all they need to hold the championships for a first time?

RJ Danzig SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

RJ Danzig is a lot of things but shy he’s not. Buddy Hollar has gotten word that he has a special announcement for California Pro Wrestling’s fans as well as their management. What will the unpredictable Danzig have to say in the Grissom Auditorium?

Preston Holt vs.Fujiyama the Samurai

There was a time when Preston Holt and CPW’s Samurai did battle on the same side. Samurai turns his attention to the championship but no matter how hard he tried he couldn’t beat his good friend Preston Holt for the CPW Championship. Fujiyama finally snapped during last year’s CPW Iron Man Tournament attacking Preston Holt after a hard fought contest. He has turned his back on his honorable beliefs and on his friends but he has gained a championship. Preston Holt will challenge to take the only thing Fujiyama has left. Will his lust for the gold be enough to hold off Preston Holt? Or will Preston’s quest for revenge and desire to become champion take all that Fujiyama has left?

California dreaming. On such a winters day. Nice day. Pulleeaaaassseee don't make Mama Cass Elliott wear a revealing outfit though, k? Kewl. Me be down then.

Preston Holt vs.Fujiyama the Samurai - the dude is a ruthless champion. 'Nuff said.

The Party Animals vs. Billy Blue & The Red Raider - the other dudes look like generic jobbers (I'm sure they're not and I'm probably woefully wrong therefore with me pick)

Las Alturas Asombrosas - love their look

Mark “The Lariat” Krogan vs. Jason Jackson - What in tarnations, lights out due to the cowbell

Luis Montero - Because he's an out and out legend.

“Danger” Will Roberts vs. The Crusher - Crusher's head piece would be disturbing to his opponent, but I trust Will Roberts has seen enough danger from sierra nevada to the Norweigan fjords and so knows how to deal with a crusher.

Heidi Brooks vs. Dixie Diamond - because hot chicks rule

Gotta love the 70s Cverse!

Heidi Brooks vs. Dixie Diamond - Dixie is better looking, but this ain't SWF. :D

“Danger” Will Roberts vs. The Crusher - CRUSH!

Ricky Han vs. Luis Montero - Doubt it'll happen, but Han is the Man.

Mark “The Lariat” Krogan vs. Jason Jackson - Gotta go with The Lariat in this one. Jackson has potential though.

The Party Animals vs. Billy Blue & The Red Raider - The Party Animals have actual star potential. Blue & Red... not so much.

Yakuza Riot vs. Las Alturas Asombrosas - Las Alturas are good. Yakuza Riot is better.

Preston Holt vs Fujiyama the Samurai - I'll go with Fujiyama to retain for now, but he'll probably end up back in Japan before too long, so I could see a change here.

Preston Holt vs.Fujiyama the Samurai

So I was in New Orleans with The Animals when they took me to this house. They started calling it The House of The Rising Sun. Strange, I thought, that they should mention this just as I am predicting who will win this match. As far as omens go, it's a pretty strong one.

The Party Animals vs. Billy Blue & The Red Raider

Then, The Animals, (no relation, but again, spooky huh?) said that 'we gotta get out of this place, if it's the last thing we ever do!' The reason? There was an all night party down the street! Strange, I thought, that The Animals should mention a party just as I am predicting who will win this match.

Mark “The Lariat” Krogan vs. Jason Jackson

I'll be honest with you, whilst at the party, The Animals and I started to take some substances we shouldn't have taken. I suggested we stop, but all they kept saying was 'Don't bring me down.' Anyway, I started hallucinating. I saw a vision of the future, around 2010 I think, and all the kids had stopped playing Space Invaders and were playing incredibly life like 3 dimensional space battles. One game in particular was called mass effect 2. Whoa, it was so awesome! In this fantasy world, I came across a species of large reptilian biped native to Tuchanka. It's name...The Krogan! How strange, I thought, that I should hallucinate about such things just as I should have been trying to predict the outcome of this match.

“Danger” Will Roberts vs. The Crusher

As I awoke in the morn, my reality at odds with the euphoria of the night time, I looked down at my prediction sheet. There were still two matches left. I looked over to Eric Burden, lead vocalist, who was still pretty out of it. I told him about my vision of the future and all the strange computer games that are set in space. He said 'When I was young...' I said, 'stop dropping song titles into your stories.' He apologised and carried on. He said he always dreamt of bringing his music to the aliens. He wanted to be a vocalist in space. His mumbled, hungover voice was frail, and for a faint second I believed him to say voca-LOST IN SPACE! How strange, I thought, that I should hear this vocal anomaly just when I was predicting who would win this match!

Heidi Brooks vs. Dixie Diamond

We packed up our belongings and left the house. back onto the streets of New Orleans once more, we decided our clothes had long since worn out their welcome. It was time to go outfit shopping, so we headed for the nearest mall. Once inside, we seached high and low for mens apparel, and found a store we liked the look of. As we approached, Drummer John Steel saw a distant figure we all recognised. John F'n Travolta! Now usually, meeting Travolta is an honour, but not to us. You see, Travolta was such a fan of The Animals, that it was he who got the band back together. The thing is, since that time, Travolta had become somewhat of a celebrity stalker, following The Animals everywhere, rooting through their bins, cutting their hair whilst they slept, and generally being a grade A nuisance. With little concern for his own safety, Guitarist Hilton Valentine approached Travolta, whilst telling us to Hide in Brooks brothers clothing. I must admit, under these stressful circumstances, my ears were not as finely tuned as they should be. As such, I could have sworn he said HEIDI BROOKS brothers clothing. I thought it strange that I should hear this, when I should have been predicting this match.

NEW YEAR, OLD ENEMES

Saturday, January 8th, 1977

Las Vegas, Nevada - The Grissom Auditorium

[We head into a dark arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. It’s the second Saturday night in January of 1977. Buddy Hollar is standing in the ring dressed in a sharply colored suit to address this sold out arena.]

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/BuddyHollar.jpg

Buddy Hollar: THANK YOU, Las Vegas! I’m Buddy Hollar and although I’m new in this part of the country let me assure you that I’m VERY passionate about California Pro Wrestling. We will be seeing a lot of the Grissom Auditorium as California Pro Wrestling has dedicated itself to a FULL TIME schedule in 1977. The times are changing and so is California Pro Wrestling……..somewhat. We’re still the most hard hitting, high impact, tough, gritty, diverse professional wrestling promotion in ALL the world and right now, right here we’re going to prove it. I introduce to you our first match of the new year for the ONLY women’s championship in all of North America. Heidi Brooks defending against Dixie Diamond for the CPW Women’s Championship….

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/Generic_Womens01.jpg

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/DixieDiamond.jpghttp://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/VS.jpghttp://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/HeidiBrooks1977.jpg

Dixie Diamond vs. Heidi Brooks

Dixie and Heidi shake hands before getting the match started. Dixie catches Heidi off guard in the early going speeding around her. Dixie with several kicks and a few quick moves off the ropes. A few near falls aren’t enough to take Heidi down. She battles right back with some vicious strikes before showing off some quickness of her own. Heidi whips Dixie into the ropes, Dixie dives out of the way and Heidi hits the turnbuckle hard. The crowd let out an audible “ohhh” as she staggers back. Dixie with a quick rollup ONE….TWO….THREE…NO!!!! Heidi kicks out at the last possible second. Both women quickly up to their feet, Heidi tries a defensive elbow, Dixie blocks it nailing Heidi with a knee to the gut. Heidi is hunched over and Dixie twirls her finger into the air. She’s calling for the Dixie Dust, she picks Heidi up into the air, Heidi slips out and takes Dixie over with the Heid and Seek (flying leg scissors). Dixie is thrown across the ring and Heidi jumps on top for the cover ONE….TWO……THREEE!!! Its over Heidi has pinned Dixie Diamond to retain the CPW Women’s Championship. Dixie staggers to her feet to see Heidi clutching the CPW Women’s championship. The crowd quiets before the two ladies embrace in a post match hug.

Winner via Pinfall @ 11:56 Heidi Brookes

MATCH RATING: C-

Buddy Hollar: Its so great to see sportsmanship like that. So many times in pro wrestling tempers get the best of you and its nice to see two people give it all they got and walk away friends. That being said Pierce……what a match up. So many times Dixie came close to winning that championship but like all great champions Heidi was able to make a come back…

Pierce Holt: Dixie is so quick, so agile she certainly deserves to be in the ring with Heidi and compete in this division. BUT Heidi is at an all time high right now, I don’t know who or what its going to take for her to lose the CPW Women’s Championship….

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/DangerWillRoberts_alt.jpghttp://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/VS.jpghttp://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/TheCrusher.jpg

“Danger” Will Roberts vs. The Crusher

Buddy: You talk about your exact opposites and you’re talking about these two. Crusher stands at nearly seven feet tall, he’s well over 300 pounds and anybody that’s seen him compete can tell you he’s pure evil….

Pierce: He’s a merciless….well crusher, Buddy. That being said young Will Roberts is seemingly fearless. He’s gotten his name “Danger” by literally backing down from no challenge from no man. It will be interesting to see if Roberts can win….or atleast survive.

The bell rings and Will Roberts charges full speed into The Crusher. He slides under his legs and dropkicks his back, Will with another dropkick to the back, now one to the left knee, one to the right knee. In just a matter of moments Will Roberts has Crusher down to his knees. Roberts off the ropes with a dropkick to the face of The Crusher but he won’t go down. The fans “ohhh” watching Crusher’s head jerk back from the vicious dropkick. Roberts smiling, shrugs his shoulders and goes off the ropes for another one. Crusher stands, plucks Roberts out of thin air and drops him to the mat. The entire arena is silent, Roberts isn’t moving. Crusher covers the unconscious Will Roberts ONE……TWO…..THREE!!! NO! Crusher has pulled Will Roberts up. The referee is warning Crusher but he just laughs pressing Will above his head before dropping him in the air and catching him with a powerslam. Will isn’t responsive at all as The Crusher makes a lazy pinfall. ONE…..TWO……THREEE!!!! The fans are booing as The Crusher raises his own arm in victory. Immediately after the pinfall the medical team races into the ring to check on the unconscious Will Roberts…

Winner via Pinfall @ 5:51 The Crusher

MATCH RATING: D

Buddy: Will Roberts took it to the Crusher in the opening moments of this match. He lost focus like so many young athletes do and it cost him big time..

Pierce: Will seemed to play into the crowd, he seemed to be putting on a show with his speed rather than trying find something to compliment those dropkicks. He got arrogant, he lost focus as you said Buddy and it cost him quickly and dearly…

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/DangerWillRoberts_alt.jpg

Will Roberts staggers to his feet as The Crusher is walking away. Roberts staggers over to the announce table with Buddy Hollar and Pierce Holt. He snatches a microphone off of the table looking onward at the exiting Crusher.

Will Roberts: Crusher…..Crusher…..CRUSHER!!!!

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/TheCrusher.jpg

[The Crusher slowly turns staring at Roberts through his menacing battle helmet. Roberts rolls back into the ring with the microphone.]

Roberts: You wanna pull me up from a defeat? You want to humiliate me? You want to CRUSH me? Well guess what…..I’m…..STILL…………STANDING!!!!!

[The Grissom Auditorium goes WILD for Robert’s comments. The Crusher shakes his head and stalks back to the ring. The fans are on their feet as it looks like we’re about to get round two of this battle.]

Buddy: I can’t believe it, Will Roberts after taking that beating just basically challenged Crusher to an immediate rematch…

Pierce: Come on this kid is out of it, he doesn’t know where he’s at, he took a bad fall and now this medical team is letting him make a not smart decision…

[The Crusher is about to step onto the apron when Will DIVES through the ropes at The Crusher. The Crusher catches him in mid air. The roaring crowd has been instantly silenced as Will feebly tries to fight out of the vice grip of The Crusher. The Crusher lets out a bellowing laugh from underneath his menacing helmet before RAMMING Roberts into the ring post. Roberts yells in pain but Crusher does it AGAIN. Security is coming down to the ring so The Crusher quickly rams him one more time into the unforgiving, steel ring post. The Crusher drops Will Roberts allowing security to submerge onto him.]

Buddy: I can’t believe this. The Crusher has just left Will Roberts laying unconscious on the concrete floor of the arena….

Pierce: This could be a long year for young Will Roberts if he doesn’t start learning that you don’t challenge and tempt guys named…. “The Crusher”

SEGMENT RATING: B+

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/RickyHan.jpghttp://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/VS.jpghttp://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/LuisMontero1977.jpg

Ricky Han vs. Luis Montero

Buddy: Ricky Han is one of the youngest, most gifted men in the country. He’s done tours of Japan, he’s been in movies, this guy is a one shop stop for entertainment….

Pierce: We’re going to see what this kid has tonight. He’s going up against who many are calling the best wrestler in Mexico Luis Montero….

Everything Ricky tries Luis seems to easily counter. Luis spends most of the match seemingly switching from a fast paced standing attack to grounding the young Han. Louis goes up to the second rope and Ricky catches him pulling him down for a nasty kick to the head. Ricky does his best to keep it on the mat but again Luis battles back. Ricky with a chop to the chest, another and now an elbow to the head. Luis is dazed, Ricky sends Luis into the ropes looking for a back body drop. Luis stops, drops to the mat and DRILL Ricky with a NASTY punch to the face. Ricky is doubled over and Luis drops him with a Jumping Piledriver. The fans are silent as Luis finally puts young Ricky out of his misery ONE… TWO…..THREE! Luis helps Ricky up to his feet and the fans are applauding the sportsmen ship but Ricky slow shrugs off Luis while he tries to shake off a nasty piledriver. Luis shrugs his shoulders leaving with the applause of the crowd behind him.

Winner via Pinfall @ 12:30 Luis Montero

MATCH RATING: D+

Buddy: This one was a bit brutal to watch. Young Ricky Han just didn’t seem to be much of a match for Luis Montero who as you said certainly lived up to his reputation of being one of the best in the world…

Mark “The Lariat” Krogan vs. Jason Jackson

Buddy: What can we say about Mark “The Lariat” that hasn’t been said before? This guy is a LEGEND in Florida and Texas. He’s vicious, he’s merciless, he’s a southern, one man wrecking crew. He’s going to debut against a legend of CPW’s son Jason Jackson…

Pierce: Jason is a lot like his father. He’s an amazing athlete, he has a never say die attitude and I truly believe he’s going to become a big star in California Pro Wrestling. As far as Mark Krogan goes, so much focus here in CPW is put on technical ability or Ariel moves, maybe even the speed of these athletes. Mark has not a lot in way of those things but he makes up for it TREMENDOUSLY well with his unmatchable fighting skills…..

Jason and Mark lock up and Mark powers out of the lock up throwing Jason across the ring. They lock up again and Jason does a quick go behind attempting to take Mark to the mat. Mark powers out of this with an elbow. The fans remain silent while Jason tries to figure out how to get this big Texan to the mat. Finally Jason seems to give up on technique and starts firing right hands at Krogan. Jason’s rights are seeming absorbed by Krogan before he lets loose with a NASTY right of his own that drops Jason. Mark spends the next few minutes just throwing the hardest rights the audience has ever seen at Jason.

Buddy: Jason tried to take Mark down with good old fashioned technique but its going to take something more than that to take this wild Texan down I’m afraid….

Finally the young Jackson catches on ducking and getting in a few quick pinfalls. After roughly ten minutes of Krogan just drilling Jason with vicious chops and hard right hands he has yet to issue a single pinfall. Krogan misses with a right hand, Jason gets in a quick roll up, they shoot to their feet and Jason with a drop toe hold and another quick pinfall. Nothing he can do will keep Krogan down. Mark shoots back to his feet and again misses wild with a large right hand, Jason spins him around nailing a hip toss. Jason plays it smart keeping on his feet, Mark staggers up and Jason is calling for the Eagle Claw. He grabs hold of Mark placing the claw. The fans rise to their feet watching as Krogan starts to stagger around the ring while Jason seemingly locks it on tighter. Just then Krogan shoots Jason into the ropes breaking the hold. Jason comes back and Krogan DIVES and DECAPITATES Jason with a Lariat. “OHHHHH” is all the crowd can manage to say as Krogan spits out his chewing tobacco into the audience pinning Jason Jackson. ONE…..TWO…….THREE!!! Krogan stands up to his feet and cracks a slight smile listening to the 2,000 people in attendance boo him.

Winner via Pinfall @ 10:53 Mark “The Lariat” Krogan

MATCH RATING: C

Buddy Hollar: Pierce I think its back to the drawing board for young Jason Jackson. He got several pinfall attempts on Mark Krogan but he wasn’t able to get that big move, that lights out move that was needed…

Pierce: I think Jason has the best trainer, the best coach at home in the form of his father Edmond Jackson. I know Edmond’s not here tonight but when Jason ge-

[Pierce cuts himself off watching as Krogan pulls Jason’s lifeless body up from the mat placing it, hunched over in the turnbuckle. The fans booing continues, the referee is trying to stop him but he’s thrown to the mat. Krogan lets out a yell before charging in and again DECAPITATING Jason Jackson with a lariat. Jason falls to the mat floor and the fans are nearly rioting as a smiling Krogan picks Jason up off the mat again placing him in the turnbuckle. Krogan backs up ready to do it again with a BURST of cheers can be heard.]

[Here comes Preston Holt charging down to the ring. Krogan stares at Holt, while Preston stares right back at Krogan. Krogan lets out a chuckle before dropping out of the ring and headed to the back with his cowbell in hand. Holt bends down to check on Jason Jackson while the camera pans back up to an appalled Buddy Hollar and Pierce Holt.]

SEGMENT RATING: B

Buddy: THIS IS UNCALLED FOR!!! Mark Krogan has stepped over a line here. Jason Jackson could have severe neck problems after these unprotected, disgustingly brutal lariats. Thank God for Preston Holt. Edmond Jackson isn’t here tonight but Preston Holt who is Edmond Jackson’s best friend was here. Who knows what would have happened Pierce…

Pierce: I know better than anybody that Jason and his father are friends of our family. My brother did the right thing here tonight, this is something that will have to be talked about in person with Edmond at a later date but for now I hope Jason will be ok.

The Party Animals vs. Billy Blue & The Red Raider

Buddy Hollar: The Party Animals are just like they sound. Their some young kids just out of college and boy are they making a splash on the professional wrestling scene. They have been dominating the east coast but like all competitors in pro wrestling you haven’t truly competed until you’ve done so against the most diverse roster in all of pro wrestling here in California Pro Wrestling.

Pierce Holt: These kids work like a well oiled machine, their young, quick, powerful and they have fun. I see big things in their future but this Red Raider and Billy Blue team they’ve been around their no slouches…

The Party Animals dominate most of the match off using quick tags and a nice mix of Chase Allen’s quickness and Dirk Bonnel’s speed. Billy Blue and Red Raider cheat to cut off the ring and get Chase in a bad way by himself. He finally fights back, ducking a clothesline and hitting a double cross body block. He tags in Dirk Bonnel, the power of the team. Dirk cleans house before Red Raider staggers back in the ring looking for a rake to the eyes. Dirk blocks it and nails him with a gorilla press slam. Raider staggers up, Dirk tags back in Chase before slamming Red Raider into the mat with a Spine Buster. Chase comes off the second rope with a Senton Bomb and covers One….Two….Three….the ladies let out a squeal of excitement for the Party Animals first victory in California Pro Wrestling.

Winners via Pinfall @ 9:37 The Party Animals

MATCH RATING: D-

[As the ring clears out Buddy Hollar steps into the ring to greet the cheering audience.]

Buddy: You just saw what makes this team so effective and so successful even at their young age. That powerful spine buster by Dirk Bonnel and the amazing second rope move by Chase Allen. They call that the Party Crasher and I can see why…At this time though I’d like to bring out the newest member of California Pro Wrestling. The ink isn’t dry on his contract yet, he just officially signed earlier today. He’s from Harlem, New York he is Magnum Johnson!!

[Magnum Johnson comes out from behind the curtain wearing black jeans, a leather clad jacket and black sunglasses. The fans are mostly silent as Magnum takes a few moments to walk to the ring stepping in between the ropes.]

Buddy: Magnum you’ve been involved with the Lamberts on the east coast, you’re an icon in your home city of New York, yet you’ve decided to sign with California Pro Wrestling….

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/MagnumJohnson.jpg

Mangum: Its like this Buddy, the best of the best are right here in the CPW…ya dig? I’m the type of cat that wants to be the best, I’m the type of cat that ain’t satisfied with second place or second best. I know these people don’t know me……yet, I know I ain’t go no championships……yet. But I promise ya Buddy Holla….it won’t take long and it’ll be the suckas in the CPW that need these sunglasses to hide they black eyes…..ya dig?

[Just as Buddy is about to conclude the interview out comes Brick Fantana and “Hollywood” Mike Kinsey. Brick steps into the ring and Hollywood is right behind him. Magnum backs up and the fans start to rise interested in what Brick has to say.]

Brick: So this is what the mighty California Pro Wrestling has come to? I take a SHORT break and my home state, my home promotion goes off to the big city to find replacement talent? Oh you heard me, that’s all you are. Lets get one thing straight, Brick Fantana is Hollywood, you Las Vegas people wouldn’t know anything about a classy town like Hollywood. Hell you’ve ripped our style off with your second rate shows, and your gaudy neon lights. Listen to me, you people AIN’T Hollywood and ya never will be……and neither will you city slicker. Me and Mike here, we’ve GONE Hollywood. We’re star’s, we’re icons just like these people you ain’t got what it takes to be in Hollywood….

[Magnum rips the mic from a surprised Buddy Hollar hands.]

Magnum: You know when people come to Harlem they ask me what it takes to survive. I tell them you gotta find the biggest dog in the yard and you gotta take ‘em out. You two suckas might just be little puppies but I ain’t never been too worried about kicking around some puppies while I find the big dogs….ya dig?

[brick stares at Mike Kinsey who’s chuckling before staring at Buddy Hollar who’s backing away from the confrontation slowly at this point. Brick turns his focus to Magnum who’s taking his sunglasses and coat off.]

Brick: I got no damn clue what you just said, and I really don’t’ give a damn that you second glass citizens….

[Magnum cuts Brick off in mid thought, the fans are standing watching as this thing comes to a head right in front of them.]

Magnum: You don’t know what I’m saying? Let me make it so everybody can understand what I’m sayin….

[A referee has slid into the ring, the fans are starting to cheer Magnum on as a winded Buddy Hollar regrets the listening audience.]

Magnum Johnson vs. Brick Fantana w/”Hollywood” Mike Kinsey

Buddy: Fans I was in the ring watching this thing get to this point and I have to say that neither side seems like their going to back down. Whoever made the call to bring a referee out here and have them settle it that way, they made the right call.

The match starts out with both men brawling on the mat. It doesn’t take long for Mangum’s brawling to start knocking Brick around the ring. The fans are cheering and Brick goes from trying to attack Magnum to trying to get away. An eye gouge and a low blow twists thing back around for Brick. He starts working over the neck of Magnum. The fans are booing Brick as he takes several cheap shots at Mangum. Brick sets Magnum up in the corner and nails him with a few stiff elbows before stopping, turning his back to Magnum and fluffing his hair to the crowd. The Las Vegas crowd showers him with boos, him and Mike Kinsey are chuckling until he turns into a HUGE right hand by Magnum. Another right, another and Brick is dazed and confused. Magnum with a body slam and a huge fist drop. Brick is clutching his face in the ropes while Hollywood checks in.

Buddy: What a debut for Magnum Johnson as he looks like he might be just mere moments away from shutting Brick Fantana’s mouth for good…

Magnum pulls Brick out of the ropes, shoots him off the ropes and delivers a HUGE powerslam. The fans are standing and Magnum has called for the Street Justice. Magnum pulls Brick up but Brick with a last second groin shot shoving him into the turnbuckle. The referee gives Brick a last warning on the other side of the ring allowing Mike Kinsey to drag Magnum out of the ring. Magnum tries to get in a quick right but Kinsey pushes him into the ring post head first. Magnum staggers out and Kinsey rolls him back in the ring. Brick picks the dazed Mangum up and drops him with a Sex Panther Plunge (brainbuster) the fans are booing but Magnum is sprawled out on the apron allowing Brick to lazily cover ONE….TWO…..THREEE!!!! Hollywood pulls Brick out of the ring and the two men stagger to the back with Brick’s arm raised in victory while the referee checks on Magnum Johnson.

Winner via Pinfall @ 9:54 Brick Fantana

MATCH RATING: E+

Buddy: Magnum Johnson was seconds away from hitting his signature move the Street Justice and I’m sure it would have been all over after that…

Pierce: It was an impromptu match, he fell victim to the numbers game but the fact is Magnum Johnson nearly beat an icon in California Pro Wrestling his first night out. This issue between them I’m sure isn’t over and after a debut like that I’m sure we can expect big things out of Magnum Johnson in the future…

Yakuza Riot vs. Las Alturas Asombrosas

Buddy: If you’re a fan of tag team wrestling then you have to be a fan of these two teams. This is just another example of how talented and how diverse California Pro Wrestling is. East Coast, West Coast, Canada, Mexico, Japan we have the most talented athletes from around the world and this match should show that off quite well….

Pierce: The Yakuza Riot are not strangers to California Pro Wrestling but these tag team championships have always alluded them, maybe a new year and a fresh start is all they need to become championships for the first time in California Pro Wrestling…

The luchadors do everything they can to throw off the hard hitting, violent striking style of Yakuza Riot. With their quickness they are able to avoid big moves and pull off some very fast, very high octane and big impact moves. Both members of Yakuza Riot are growing more and more frustrated until Zenith is on the top rope and gets superkicked from the top rope to the floor. From that point on they pull Zenith to their side of the ring executing vicious strikes and pulling on all four of his limbs. The fans are booing and finally Zenith gets the tag but their come back is short lived. Pinaculo with a diving cross body block, Kenzo moves and he hits Zenith. The fans booing as Zenith gets back to his feet and Kenzo meets him with a nasty chop and then a jumping front kick to the face. Zenith stumbles and Shigeta plants him with a powerbomb. Kenzo covers ONE…..TWO…..THREE. The fans are silent as Yakuza Riot have taken the CPW Tag Team titles in dominating fashion from Las Alturas Asombrosas.

Winners and NEW California Pro Wrestling Tag Team Champions Yakuza Riot

MATCH RATING: C-

Buddy: These fans here are stunned and frankly so am I. Its been a long time since Yakuza Riot have been in a CPW ring and tonight they take the CPW Tag Team titles in their first match back, championships that aluded them the last time they were here…

Pierce: They didn’t just take these championships they took them in a violent, dominating fashion…

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/RJDanzig.jpg

[RJ Danzig makes his way to the ring with a chorus of boos surrounding him. He jaws with the ringside fans for a moment before snatching a live mic from Buddy Hollar and stepping into the ring. The fans continue booing, Danzig speaks over them.]

RJ Danzig: You people can be me I don’t give a damn, truth of the matter is you’re booing your NEXT California Pro Wrestling Champion!

[The fans react with even a louder wave of boos. Danzig chuckles to himself before continuing.]

RJ Danzig: I’ve been here over a year now, and I haven’t gotten a single damn title shot. I waited and watched as everybody and their brother got title shots but me. Well I’m DONE waitin, starting tonight I’m going to take matters into my own hands. You see I’m going to climb the ladder to success alright. With each step I’m going to leave a body laying behind me, until Preston Holt doesn’t have any choice but to give me my title shot. Then Preston, THEN we’ll see who the real championship material is. So bring out the first victim….I mean opponent.

SEGMENT RATING: B

Buddy: RJ Danzig seems more upset than usual but he does have a point, he’s one of the more successful men in California Pro Wrestling to never get a title shot…

Pierce: His opponent tonight is Kenta Matsuo, he’s one of the most talented, skilled me in professional wrestling today. Both of these men deserve a title shot and I wouldn’t be surprised if the winner finds himself with a title shot sometime soon….

RJ Danzig vs.Kenta Matsumra

Danzig starts laying into Kenta with some hard right hands but Kenta just absorbs them before unloading with NASTY, flesh rattling chops. RJ is clutching his chest as Kenta continues to chop him down. The fans are on their feet, screaming, encouraging Kenta to continue his assault. RJ is up against the ropes but he quickly pulls the referee in front of him stopping Kenta’s assault. The fans are showering RJ with hatred for his cowardly move. Kenta’s hesitation costs him and Danzig takes over. Danzig is a dirty brawler and he uses it to his advantage using every short cut he knows to keep Kenta from fighting back. Danzig finally attempts a suplex but Kenta blocks it and sends Danzig to the mat with a suplex of his own. The quiet crowd immediately shoots back to life as Kenta rolls through and delivers another suplex. RJ is staggering around the ring, Kenta off the ropes and NAILS Danzig with a knee to the face. RJ falls through the ropes to the outside and Kenta lets out an audible growl. Danzig is crawling around over by the announce table and Kenta has grown impatient following Danzig to the outside. Kenta is calling for his Control Technique (cobra clutch) on the outside.

Buddy: Kenta has taken back full control of this match and Pierce it looks like he’s going to lock the Control Technique on right here on the outside. I’m starting to think Kenta has taken RJ Danzig’s words personally….

The fans are standing, some even leaning over the guard rail to watch. Kenta grabs hold of Danzig, he pushes off, spins and BLASTS Kenta with the RING BELL. The fans are booing, Kenta falls to the concrete arena floor. Danzig drops the bell and rolls an unconscious Kenta into the ring. The fans cheers have instantly turned to hated boos. Danzig covers the unconscious Kenta, putting his foot on the ropes to add insult to injury. ONE…..TWO…..THREE!!!! The fans hate it but Danzig rolls off the unconscious Kenta and staggers to the back with his arms held weakly in the air.

Winner via Pinfall @ 11:36 RJ Danzig

MATCH RATING: C-

Buddy Hollar: RJ Danzig was in a bad way and he resorted to cheap tactics to win this match. I would have to believe the championship committee wont’ reward his dirty tricks…

Pierce: I would have to believe Buddy that as soon as Kenta gets his head right he’s going to go looking for RJ Danzig. Kenta is a proud warrior and I don’t think he’s going to take kindly to RJ Danzig trying to humiliate him…..

[buddy stands up from the announce table walking into the ring with a mic in his hand. The fans are still reacting to RJ Danzig’s cheap victory from just moments ago.]

Buddy: Introducing first, he is a former CPW Champion, weighing in a two hundred and twenty five pounds, from Sacramento, California. PREEEEESTON HOOOOOOLT…

[Preston comes out with his arms raised but his eyes locked on the ring. The fans are cheering wildly for him as he steps through the ropes focusing his attention on the entrance curtain.]

Buddy: And his opponent, he is the REIGNING CPW CHAMPION, he is from Akita, Japan. Ladies and Gentlemen Fujiyama the Samurai!!!

[The fans boo as The Samurai comes out doing a mock bow to the crowd before entering the ring face to face with Preston Holt. The referee holds the CPW Championship in the air before calling for the bell. The fans a buzz with cheers.]

Preston Holt vs.Fujiyama the Samurai

These two main event superstars give the fans a battle. Preston starts out in control but Fujiyama quickly takes back control. Both men are fighting for the advantage but the match constantly shifts back and forth. Nobody can get a clear edge and it starts to tug on the emotions of the crowd. Finnally Preston calls for his Silver Shooter (sharpshooter), Samarai scrambles to the ropes avoiding what would have been nearly a certain loss. Preston backs off and Samarai shoots up to his feet with a leaping kick to the side of Holt’s head. The fans fall silent watching as Preston Holt collapses to the mat. ONE…TWO…..THREE!! The fans are stunned but NO! His foot was on the ropes. Fujiyama can’t believe it. He clutches his face in disbelief. He bends down to pull Holt up, Holt grabs hold of his feet and drops him to the mat. The fans come ALIVE with cheers as Holt quickly slaps on the Silver Shooter (Sharpshooter) in the middle of the ring. Fujiyama is fighting to get out of it. He’s scratching and clawing on the mat but Preston just sits down on it and Fujiyama submits! The fans jump to their feet, ecstatic with cheers. Holt collapses to the mat beside Fujiyama as the referee hands him the CPW Championship.

[Preston staggers up to his feet hoisting the championship high into the air. The Las Vegas crowd can’t get enough of it. Slowly Fujiyama climbs to his feet as well. He wipes the erratic hairs from his face staring at Preston Holt celebrating with his championship. He slowly walks over to Holt, the fans cheers fall silent while they watch the two men meet in the center of the ring. After a tense few moments Fujiyama offers his hand in friendship to Preston Holt.]

Buddy: What a sign of respect this is, after one of the best bouts in CPW history these two men are able to rebuild that friendship they once had…

Pierce: Fujiyama is a warrior, he’s a samrai but deep down he’s a man and I think all men can respect when they’ve been beaten fairly…

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l192/oats21_2006/CPW/FujiyamatheSamurai.jpg

[Preston looks to the crowd before slowly jutting his hand out for a handshake. The fans come alive with cheers for these two former friends bonding after the match. Fujiyama takes his hand and SLAPS Preston Holt across the face. All of the cheers turn to instant boos as Fujiyama then rolls out of the ring leaving Preston with a swollen face as he watches Fujiyama exit the building to a shower of hatred.]

Buddy: I can’t believe what I’m seeing but Fujiyama just slapped Preston Holt, the new CPW Champion across the face during his celebration…

Pierce: I’d rather a man punch me in the jaw than slap me. This is the kind of disrespect Preston will not put up with. If Fujiyama wanted a rematch then he certainly may get his wish after that showing of disrespect….

Buddy: Wrestling fans I’m Buddy Hollar along side Pierce Holt saying good night and as always God Bless…
