January 1, 2011:

It is cold outside.

Temple bells ring and echo.

Health, happiness, breath.

~Yuu

*Yuu Onuki stood outside the Sapporo Station in Hokkaido, Japan. Her breath visible and trying to escape the cold only to be buried in the falling snow of Japan's last frontier. The Northern island of Hokkaido does not care about the latest fashion. It does not care about your heritage. It does not care what the weather is like in Tokyo. It only cares about those that survive her. Those? Hokkaido holds on to and dear. Yuu can feel it reaching out for her. She would not fight it.*

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/YuuOnuki.jpg

Yuu Onuki:

"My breath."

*She was free of the Lizard Queen. She was a half banished spirit of Joshi Puroresu. She was a half of woman on her own for the first time. Nothing would happen today, and in Yuu's mind that made it the perfect day to begin as she looked up one street and down another for a hotel sign. With one million yen($10,000) in her account, money was important so she started to walk away from the station and its overpriced convenience. She walked into Hokkaido with a determined face and single direction quite and clear.*

Yuu Onuki:

"Guide me."

*It was as easy as turning away from the sharp, cutting wind and letting it push her instead until she saw the sign and rates of a small, business hotel. There would be no frills, but she needed none. All she did need was the internet, a telephone and walls to stick her thoughts to. This place had all three, plus a small television and a restaurant on the side that smelled of meats, fish and steam. Yuu Onuki checked in to a small room with a view of a taller building next door. But the walls were thick and close. She liked that.*

Yuu Onuki:

"Who are you?"

*She paused, looking in a small mirror that hung on an empty wall. The year in Kinki had been unkind to her, and small streaks of white accented her hair. Most women would have the erased with color and dye, but Yuu knew she could use it to her advantage. Age bought you respect in Japan, and respect was a commodity she had much need of for what she was going to attempt to do.*

*Her destiny was written in simple lines. She would start her own company here in the north, protected and isolated the same. And when the time was right and flowers bloomed again? She would descend upon the Lizard Queen and play karma to her history.

She would destroy 5SSW.

The only problem was that her destiny was written but not arranged, and the outcome? It was neither. 'Who are you?' again rolled through her mind.*

Yuu Onuki:

"The Oracle."

And this is 'Memoirs of a Booker: GAIA'

Yuu Onuki (42):

Owner:

A graduate of the Osaka University of Television and Broadcasting, Yuu 'The Oracle' Onuki was brought into the world of Joshi Puroresu by 5SSW. In an on again/off again/on again/off again routine, the relationship would span almost 12 years. Described by many as 'out of the box', Yuu Onuki has been credited with some of 5SSW's strongest runs as far as content goes. A free spirit in nature, Yuu's grasp on the yen and coins of the business side is suspect at best and considered her greatest weakness. It also caused her last and probably final split with 5SSW in December, 2010. In January 2011, she moved North and started her own Joshi promotion which she named: GAIA.

Sensational Ogiwara (39):

Road Agent:

Rating: A*

In many people's eyes, Sensational Ogiwara is the greatest female worker of all time. A legend in Japan, she was one of the "Magic Three" (along with Crusher Ichihara and Thunder Hike) who revolutionized joshi wrestling and helped propel 5SSW to massive success. The list of classic matches that she was involved in is a long one, and there is no doubt that she single-handedly raised the bar in regards to the standard of matches that women could achieve. She retired in 2009, the final member of the Magic Three to do so. She worked with 5SSW behind the scenes until January 2011. When she passed over as Head Booker she left the promotion and joined the upstart company GAIA.

Hiranuma Makoto (33)

Announcer

Rating: C-

Hiranuma Makoto is best known as a baseball commentator in his home country of Japan, but he had been known to moonlight on wrestling broadcasts too from time to time. When GAIA opened in the snowy region of Hokkaido which he called home? He quickly agreed to become their lead announcer, giving GAIA a boost in their adopted home.

Rating: C

Genpaku Hasimoto was a student at Yuu Onuki's alma mater, Osaka University of Television and Broadcasting. When Yuu was unable to sign more established names due to size and financial constraints, she contacted her old school. Hasimoto's name was passed on to her along with an audition reel. He was signed the next day.

GAIA: Roster:

Fire Domain:

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/JoanneRodriguez.jpg

1. Joanne Rodriguez (31)

Style: Regular

Finisher: J-Rocker

++

Joanne "J-Ro" Rodriguez is a versatile young worker who is one of the fastest rising stars in women's wrestling for many years. After making a name for herself in CZCW, it was her move to AAA in 2004 that really kick-started her career, and by 2006 she had captured the prestigious Femme Fatale title and begun a long-running feud with her nemesis, Wanda Fish. On top of that, she has also spent many years doing tours of Japan with 5SSW, becoming a highly respected member of their roster over time. Since 2009 she has been concentrating entirely on her American commitments, as well as dealing with recurring speculation that USPW were interested in making her a big money offer to join their women's division. Her return to Japan may only be temporary if one of the bigger companies offer her a deal.

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/MegumiNakajima.jpg

2. Megumi Nakajima (24)

Style: Regular

Finisher: Nakajima Straight Jacket

++

Megumi Nakajima is an extremely hot prospect who made her debut for 5 Star Supreme Wrestling in November 2006, and quickly started winning over the fans with her ring work. Unlike the majority of her peers, she does not rely on graceful high flying alone, but instead has built up an impressive all-round game. She is particularly adept at using suplexes in her attacks, especially the Nakajima Straight Jacket, a variation on the Tiger Suplex. With 5SSW having to rely on young talent since 2009 and the loss of most of their main eventers, Megumi Nakajima has siezed the opportunity and has firmly established herself as one of the top new stars that the company will build around. Her signing on with GAIA would have to be seen as a huge shock and blow to 5SSW.

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/RakuMakuda.jpg

3. Raku Makuda (30)

Style: Regular

Swanton Bomb

--

Raku Makuda is a female star from Japan, who is closely associated with 5 Star Supreme Wrestling. She is known as "The Assassin", a nickname she garnered because of her clinical ability to finish off opponents with big moves, particularly with her trademark Swanton Bomb finisher. She is equally at home working solo or in tag team action, with her regular partner being Tomoko Nagatsuka, with whom she is a former 5SSW tag team champion. With Tomoko staying loyal to 5SSW, it looks like Raku is finally looking to establish a good singles run under the GAIA name.

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/HuntressMakiko.jpg

4. Huntress Makiko (30)

Style: Technician

Makiko Clutch, Tokyo Express

--

Huntress Makiko is a technically-minded Japanese worker, who is best known for teaming with Ikuko Temko as "Seek & Destroy" in 5 Star Supreme Wrestling, having joined in 2006. The duo, considered one of the best regular women's tag teams in the business, are former 5SSW tag team champions. Makiko is particularly known for two trademark moves; her Makiko Clutch (straight-jacketed camel clutch \ sleeper combo) and her Tokyo Express (rolling German suplexes).

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/UmekoHotta.jpg

5. Umeko Hotta (33)

Style: Cruiserweight

Finisher: Flying Knee Strike

--

Umeko Hotta is a high flying womens wrestler who seems to have a very bright future ahead of her. She has become known as "The Cat" to fans and peers alike, because of her uncanny balance, which she often demonstrates during matches by landing perfectly on the ropes before leaping off. The one criticism of her work was that it used to lack passion and fire, but since early 2006, after returning from a minor knee injury, she has been using a far more vicious style in the ring. This new fire led to her being hired by 5SSW in early 2008.

A long time and personal friend of GAIA owner Yuu Onuki. Her signing with the new company comes as little surprise.

Wood Land:

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/TamaraMcFly.jpg

3. Tamra McFly (32)

Style: Technician

Finisher: McFly Roll

++

Tamara McFly is the younger sister of the legendary Sean McFly, and a good solid worker in her own right. She has been primarily associated with North Of The Border Pro Wrestling in the past, a contract she originally got via her brother's influence, where she is a former Women's champion. She left the promotion in 2007 when her contract wasn't renewed, a result of the women's division being scaled down. Tamara has also engaged in some tours of Japan, and considers a 30 minute match she had with Sensational Ogiwara for 5SSW in 2005 to be her finest performance, even in defeat. Sensational Ogiwara holds Tamara in high regards as well. She was quite adamant that GAIA be opened to her early on.

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/AmberAllen.jpg

1. Amber Allen (23)

Style: Technician

Finisher: Cross Arm Breaker, Northern Lights Suplex

--

Amber Allen was the youngest leader of any of the tribes in GAIA, thus is her potential. A woman who is the protege of the much-travelled Steph "Principessa" Chee (who is also known as Stephanie Hazel in NOTBPW). Unlike a lot of modern womens wrestlers, who have a tendency to work towards being solid all-rounders, Amber has been trained with one particular area - technique - in mind. The result is that she is an excellent technical wrestler, particularly on the mat, but lacks the flashy aerial attacks of some of her peers.

-

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/GinkoKuroda.jpg

2. Ginko Kuroda (30)

Style: Technician

Finisher: Dragon Suplex

--

"The Dragon's Daughter" Ginko Kuroda is a talented wrestler from Japan who is particularly noted for her fluid, flawless technique in the ring. She is something of an enigma in that she has never been picked up by 5SSW, even when they were desperate for new talent, despite her excellent skills. Her position in the Wooden Hall behind Amber makes for a very volatile situation within their ranks.

-

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/ReiChikanatsu.jpg

4. Rei Chikanatsu (25)

Style: Technician

Finisher: Blue Crab Surprise

++

Rei Chikanatsu is a young technical worker who got her first big break in 2007 when she was hired by 5SSW, having impressed on the independent circuit. Physically very small, her ring style has developed around her taking opponents down to the mat and out-wrestling them. She has a hidden talent of being excellent at fashion design, and has a nice sideline in making ring outfits for lots of other wrestlers. She seems like a perfect fit for the theatrics lacing GAIA.

-

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/JunkoHayakawa.jpg

5. Junko Hayakawa (45)

Style: Technician

Finisher: Fold Up Powerbomb

--

"Queen Of Pain" Junko Hayakawa is a veteran Japanese female competitor, who is perhaps best known for her work with North Of The Border Pro Wrestling, where she held the Women's title on two different occasions. A short, stocky fighter, she bases her offence on suplexes and simply overpowering her opponents. She left NOTBPW in 2006 to return to Japan, for good, after feeling that she was being phased out to make way for younger, better looking athletes. The oldest active worker in GAIA, many see this as her last run at any sort of legacy. The World of GAIA may be just what she needs to achieve it.

Water Reign:

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/HEARTSaitoh.jpg

1. HEART Saitoh (24)

Style: Cruiserweight

Finisher: Flying Tiger Knee

++

Reunited with her trainer and sent to lead the Water Reign, Tomoko Saitoh is a high-flying Japanese worker who is well known for her distinctive black and gold outfit. Trained by the legendary Sensational Ogiwara, Saitoh spent the earliest years of her career gaining experience by working smaller shows around Japan, and developed a reputation for being a solid and reliable worker. She inevitably joined 5SSW in early 2008, and didn't take long to become a fan favourite due to her never-say-die attitude; this led to her being dubbed "HEART Saitoh" by the fans, a name that was so appropriate that it soon became her official ring name. With 5SSW rebuilding its roster around young talent, it seems that the time is now right for Saitoh to become a major player.

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/OchiyoIijima.jpg

2. Ochiyo Iijima (29)

Style: Water Monkey

Finisher: Space Twister Press

++

"Space Age" Ochiyo Iijima is a Japanese worker who graduated the 5SSW dojo in 2005. With solid basics and some innovative high risk moves. She is a good prospect for the future of the Water School. A unique personality in an industry that places high value on just such things.

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/KunikoMatsura.jpg

3. Kuniko Matsura (25)

Style: Cruiserweight

Finisher: Fire II Flame

++

Kuniko Matsura is a young high flier who made her pro debut in 2004, working for 5SSW. She is nicknamed "Wild Fire" due to her bright yellow and orange costume, as well as her hyperactive style of work. Initially it looked like she was on her way to becoming a star with the company, but her initial momentum soon fizzled out, and by the end of 2006 she seemed stuck in a rut. She left the company around Christmas time. Picked up by GAIA in 2011, her youth and style are sure to merit her some investment by the company.

4. Sakura Sada (26)

Style: Cruiserweight

Bird Brain Buster

--

Sakura Sada is a young high flier who came through the youth ranks of 5 Star Supreme Wrestling, making her full debut in 2004. She earned the nickname "The Hawk" due to her graceful aerial attacks, and as a result started making her entrances in a bird-themed mask and costume in the middle of 2005. She left 5SSW in late 2006, having failed to really establish herself as anything more than a perennial jobber, and judging by her independent appearances since seems to have dropped the bird-costume entirely nowadays. Now a part of the GAIA world, she has a chance to finally establish herself.

-

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/YokoIkina.jpg

4. Yoko Ikina (33)

Style: Cruiserweight

Finisher: Ikina Driver

--

Yoko Ikina is a decent high flier from Takamatsu who, with her distinctive blue hair, isn't in any danger of being ignored by crowds. She has had several short runs with 5SSW over the course of her career, mainly being brought in on a short term deal to replace an injured fighter during a tour, but has never achieved lasting success. Now the veteran presence in Water Reign, it remains to be seen if she will embrace the role of mentor or set her eyes on taking control instead.

Metal Moiety:

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/ConnieMorris.jpg

1. Connie Morris (30)

Style: Regular

Finisher: Missouri Plough

++

The original leader of the Metal Moiety is a wrestler from Missouri who is best known for her work in the East, having been a regular with 5 Star Supreme Wrestling in Japan for seven years between 2002 and 2009 before a slump in business saw the promotion forced to release its foreign talent. Being naturally quite big and powerful, her ring work is based on throwing her opponents around, which is especially evident in her Missouri Plough finisher, a running fallaway slam. The main criticism of her is that she is quite dull in the ring, and that if only she'd show some fire or raw aggression she could be a much bigger star.

-

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/KinuyeMushashibo.jpg

2. Kinuye Mushshibo (24)

Style: Regular

Finisher: Blue Dream

++

"Baby Blue" Kinuye Mushashibo is a young female competitor who was born in Osaka (although her mother is American), whose nickname derives from her extremely youthful appearance combined with her blue ring singlet. A decent but unspectacular worker, she has spent the majority of her career on the Japanese independent scene, but has made occasional appearances for 5SSW and done a few short tours of North America too. As the year 2011 begins to unfold, Kinuye will undoubtedly challenge for the leadership of Moiety before the same year closes.

-

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/AngelTakudome.jpg

3. Angel Takudome (30)

Style: Regular

Finisher: Red Rock Press

++

Mitsuko "Angel" Takudome is an average all-round womens worker who is known for her trademark all-red attire. Despite being a solidly reliable wrestler, Angel has never found much in the way of success or recognition, although she has worked a few short tours with 5SSW over the years. Yuu Onuki always believed she would have been a solid worker in America or Canada. But she was cursed to live deep in the land of Joshi.

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/YukikoMatsumara.jpg

4. Yukiko Matsumara (24)

Style: Cruiserweight

Finisher: Matsumara Cradle

++

"The Princess" Yukiko Matsumara is a charismatic young high flier from Japan, noted for her extensive use of rana variations to keep her opponents off balance. Breaking into the sport at the end of 2004, Matsumara has quickly developed from a wildly inconsistent spot monkey to a competent and reliable worker. She also has the knack of getting the crowd behind her, a valuable skill in wrestling. With youth on her side, she may very well become the Princess of Metal.

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/KaedeSugiyama.jpg

5. Kaede Sugiyama (26)

Style: Cruiserweight

Finisher: Sun-Spot

++

Kaede Sugiyama is an exciting young prospect in Japan. She is a pretty good high flier, and seems to have a solid grasp of the basics too. She tried out for 5SSW at the tail end of 2005, but was not offered a contract. Much like her sisters in the Metal Moiety, she is missing something that "The Oracle" believes can be found, but only by Kaede herself.

Earth House:

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/DragonAssassin.jpg

1. Dragon Assassin (30)

Style: Brawler

Finisher: Lariat

--

Signed on to GAIA as leader of the Earth House. Dragon Assassin is a legitimate martial arts expert who has been working in the wrestling business since 1998. She is best known for teaming with Dragon Power as The Serpents, a team that built a fearsome reputation on the Japanese independent circuit. Assassin has an awesome killer heel look, and some fine moves in her arsenal, including a superb lariat. The Serpents were signed by 5SSW in 2009, and by the end of the year were tag team champions. Many see Dragon Assassin as a future singles star, as her ring work is extremely impressive.

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/Gorgon.jpg

2. Gorgon (30)

Style: Brawler

Finisher: Hydra Bomb

--

Alison "Gorgon" Rush is a powerhouse wrestler from Missouri, who is considered one of the most promising up-and-coming female American wrestlers in years. She broke into the business with the Angel Athletic Association, debuting in mid 2003. It didn't take long for her to make an impact, winning the tag team straps with Cherry Bomb as her partner. Since then she has continued to progress as both a worker and as a character, and even squeezed in a few years with 5SSW, where her power and look saw her become popular with the Japanese fans; sadly, the promotion could not afford to keep her around once business slumped in 2009. GAIA happily picked her up without reservation.

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/UnstoppableTai.jpg

3. Unstoppable Tai (24)

Style: Brawler

Finisher: Tai Bomber

--

Unstoppable Tai is a big powerhouse joshi wrestler from Japan. Blessed with an incredible 6'2, 225lb ultra-muscular physique, she is an absolute monster in the womens game, able to smash her way through most opponents. She originally burst onto the scene in 2005 as a raw 19 year old, then working just as "Tai", and quickly gained a reputation for fearsome brutality. Since then she has refined her skills, but has remained unattached to any promotion - some say this is due to her bad attitude. Many see her as the future leader of Earth House or its future downfall.

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/EmmaBitch.jpg

4. Emma Bitch (24)

Style: Brawler

Finisher: The Payback

--

"Payback" Emma Bitch is a young brawler from Toronto, who looks to have a bright future in women's wrestling due to the fact that she already cuts great promos at a young age. Her in-ring skills, which are already pretty impressive, should improve as she matures too. She was originally trained in the NOTBPW youth system, particularly by Victoria Stone, and she made the transition to the main roster in 2006 at the age of 20. By 2008 she was women's champion of the promotion, but a failed drug test saw her bounced from NOTBPW in January 2009. She slipped into oblivion until 2011 when GAIA offered her another chance, which she gladly accepted.

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/ChiyekoKita.jpg

5. Chiyeko Kita (25)

Style: Regular

Finisher: Strong Head Kick

--

Chiyeko Kita is a solid joshi worker who can make a strong claim to being one of the most improved wrestlers of the past few years. When she first broke into the sport in 2004, she was nicknamed "Candy Cane" (on account of her gaudy red-and-yellow striped attire) and was the prototypical wide-eyed innocent babyface-in-peril. A high flying worker, she had some spectacular aerial moves but struggled to work them into believable matches. Through hard work and help from some veterans, Kita developed rapidly; by 2009 she had become a much better all-round worker, added a potent MMA-influenced striking game, and had adopted a much more serious heel persona. She is now widely regarded as a potential huge star for the future. She was high on both Sensational Ogiwara's and Yuu Onuki's lists when they were forming the GAIA roster.

Ikuko Temko (31)

Style: Brawler

Finisher: Temko Pendulum

--

"The Mistress Of Pain" Ikuko Temko is a powerful brute-force brawler who provides the raw power to compliment Huntress Makiko's elegant technical skills in the tag team "Seek & Destroy", former 5SSW tag team champions. She is also a good singles wrestler in her own right, having had success while working solo prior to meeting Makiko. Temko is probably best known for her Temko Pendulum finisher, a Torture Rack hold spun out into a devastating neckbreaker. Reunited with Makiko under the GAIA banner, the name Seek & Destroy brings instant images and history to a company that need both.

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/TsukiKawamata.jpg

Tsuki Kawamata (31)

Style: Regular

Finisher: Flying Leg Lariat

++

Tsuki Kawamata is a fairly bland wrestler, who is best known for her work with the Angel Athletic Association in America and 5 Star Supreme Wrestling in Japan; her father is Japanese but her mother is American, and so she has no problem jumping from one culture to the other. She is a dependable worker who is well-liked by her colleagues, but has generally spent most of her career in low-level roles being used to put other, more talented, workers over. In 2007 she was released by the AAA having grown stale in her role, and a year later she was also deemed surplus to requirements in 5SSW. Contracted by GAIA in 2011, she looks to set down early roots in her latest home.

*The first decisions can be the most important ones that we make. Yuu Onuki was more and aware of this as scribbled names out in blue ink and stuck them to the winter cold window panes. Workers would come and go and return yet again, but staff? They were to core of the machine she would try to build. The names that came to her mind were the best. The names that flowed from her pen were surprising. The names were her friends. The names were her enemies.*

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/YuuOnuki.jpg

Yuu Onuki:

"Cold."

*Was that why she had come to Hokkaido? In a hope that the enviornment would chill her of ice in veins? She did not want to be cold. She had to be. But she did want to be far away. Kit would not be knocking at her door. Umeko-chan would not be reading thick paperbacks on her non-existant sofa. Yuu was off the Joshi grid until the papers were filled with the names... until the first call was made. She tried to imagine the final engine by plugging in each name to the other.*

Yuu Onuki:

"Once more the engine of her thoughts began . . . ."

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20Post%20It/StaffPostit.jpg

*One name occurred and occurred again, Sensational Ogiwara. They were not on the best of terms. Their history was of the strained variety after Ogiwara had attempted to take Yuu Onuki's position... and failed. Each name on her list had their merits and skills. They would make her machine run at a pitch that was quite unique and strong. But she could not have them all. She could only have one.*

5SSW Appoints Kuniyoshi Chishu As New Head Booker.

-In news that is sure to have major repercussions within the staff structure of 5SSW, Sakurako Kagawa has selected long time announcer Kuniyoshi Chishu to replace the newly departed Yuu Onuki as Head Booker. The timing of this decision couldn't be more suspect as most of the company is still on New Year's holiday. Joshi Legend Sensational Ogiwara was seen as the clear favorite for the position now held by Kuniyoshi. We expect political fireworks once the news gets out and workers start returning to Kinki, Japan.-

Last Night's 5SSW End Of Days Tour (Wednesday)

5 Star Supreme Wrestling held 5SSW End Of Days Tour (Wednesday) last night in Kyoto Arena, and drew 1,767 fans. The feedback has been that the show was awesome. Performance of the night belonged to return Fuyuko Higa to the company.

Show Rating: C+

*This was what Yuu Onuki was up against as she scanned the screen. A joshi puroresu establishment with a hold on the top names in the business. It was an establishment she herself had helped to build over the years. Loyalty, it was in the DNA of every Japanese. It was hard wired into their very way of thinking. If Yuu had not spent time in 5SSW as Head Booker? She would have had no chance at all. But she had and she had helped many young women at the time.*

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/YuuOnuki.jpg

Yuu Onuki:

"Who will remember?"

*The more important question was who would join her. Emails to the younger workers sent almost instantly. Hand written letters of thick black ink for the more veteran workers of the nation. Anything to catch their eyes, for their eyes and bodies she would add to her machine. The news of GAIA would soon be free and living. She only wish she could see the face of Sakurako Kagawa, The Lizard Queen, when it all reached her ears.*

It begins.

The Lizard Queen knows not what she has wrought.

A small smile creeping

As I lay to fall asleep:

This: I can rejoice.

Happy to see Yuu.

Impressed with the new logo

my smile will last long.

The Noodleshop is full and lively senses.

How can I say it?

I myself am a dream."

*Yuu Onuki had few things on her side. But they were important things. She knew who to call when to make an announcement. She knew how to get a small room so she did not look too ridiculous when 8 people showed up. The world of Joshi Puroresu was small and 3 reporters came to get out of the cold while looking busy. But that did not matter to Yuu. If they took the picture and moved the words she was happy. Yuu Onuki had almost guaranteed both as the coffee was fresh. But when she appeared in full samurai armor and powdered face? The cameras did flash for the pure unexpected nature of it all. She smiled a wry and knowing smile as she stood at the podium and scanned the intimate room.*

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/TheOracle.jpg

The Oracle (Yuu Onuki):

"For too long Joshi Puroresu has been under the eyes of one. She did roll across the country and all. She did devour and snack upon the cakes that are Joshi until there was, is and only would be one: 5SSW and she The Lizard Queen. All of this I know... knowing because I was her side and played her hand that was right. Her hand that was wrong."

*The Oracle looked down at her hands and then to reporters who listened carefully. They listened carefully because if they didn't? They wouldn't understand a word coming out of the Oracle's painted lips.*

The Oracle (Yuu Onuki):

"Joshi Puroresu does not belong to one woman down in Kinki. It does not belong to history. It belongs to the Earth and life. It deserves to live and again. It is under this banner that I, today, form GAIA. It is from GAIA that we will live and grow. It is from GAIA that Joshi Puroresu will be liberated to visions no longer one or dim."

*The Oracle looked out again, her mission stated complete and quite clear.*

The Oracle (Yuu Onuki):

"You do not take me seriously, yes? No? Perhaps I would not either in a room of coffee scents and theatrics long missed. So let actions take over. I introduce you to the only and The Luminary, Sensational Ogiwara."

*Yuu stepped aside with subtle ease as Sensational Ogiwara stepped into the room. Yuu had worked the room with theatrics and speech. Ogiwara did it with mere presence. Pictures were taken again and then again as Ogiwara stood next to The Oracle.*

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/SensationalOgiwara.jpg

The Luminary (Sensational Ogiwara):

"Her costume is very appropriate and so is her name, because we see the future the same way and we are both willing to fight for that vision."

*Ogiwara leaned forward a little, working their attention again.*

The Luminary (Sensational Ogiwara):

"This will be a fight for the future of our industry. This will be about choices made. This will be about setting right what has obviously gone wrong. We invite you to join us in February and make your first choice with us. Thank you."

GAIA Snubbed:

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/DEVILKarube.jpg

Rumor has it that DEVIL Karube is the new golden girl of 5SSW, after turning down the chance to jump to the newly launched GAIA due to her loyalty to the company. There are reports, however, that GAIA are still determined to get their woman.

-

*The internet news did never cease or cease to amuse. When she first started in the business, the internet had been little more than a rumor of vague. At that time, no more than a small handful of foreigners knew what Joshi Puroresu was. Their only image had been of the few women in their business who had traveled overseas. But now the internet was everywhere and thousands of non-Japanese followed their small corner of the world through sites like JoshiJoshiJoshi.com and bought their DVD through "reputable" traders.*

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/YuuOnuki.jpg

Yuu Onuki:

"We did do the trying, yes?"

*That much was true and even correct. If you are going to start a Joshi Puroresu company in 2011 and do not contact DEVIL Karube, then you have made your very first mistake. The conversation had been polite, correct and unfortunately too short. Loyalty had made its first of many appearances soon to be.*

DEVIL Karube:

"I respect you, Onuki-san. You are one of the most . . . interesting bookers working in Japan these days. Maybe if this was 10 years ago. But it's not. Today, 5SSW is my company as much as it is Kagawa-san's. I will not attack my own house. I'm not sorry for this."

*Respect, it was another word that would play many parts in the days ahead. She respected and knew DEVIL Karube well enough to know that she would not be changing her mind. Yuu Onuki and therefore GAIA were not 'still determined to get their woman.' Yuu and DEVIL instead promised to meet on the road they shared in different company(ies).*

After the show, Sakurako Kagawa addressed the formation of GAIA, in a very short fashion, during the post-show party with reporters and other special guests.

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/SakurakoKagawa.jpg

Sakurako Kagawa:

"GAIA? They have a lot of buzz. But we all know how long that lasts. 5SSW has a long track record of success. Yuu Onuki has a long track record of getting fired by me. We will welcome Sensational Ogiwara back with open arms when this all passes."

GAIA Sign Local Talent

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/HiranumaMakoto.jpg

GAIA started laying roots in the Hokkaido region by signing local sports celebrity Hiranuma Makoto on as lead announcer.

Hiranuma Makoto:

"I've done work in wrestling before, usually down in Tokyo or Osaka. But when a company opened up shop right here in Hokkaido? It was a an easy decision to make. I look forward to help bringing the hard hitting action of GAIA into your homes. Let's go GAIA!"

GAIA have also signed Genpaku Hasimoto (colour) and Yasuyuki Terakado (referee) to contracts.

"It is better to travel hopefully,

than to arrive disenchanted."

~Proverb

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20Locations/Sapporo1.jpg

It is cold and snowing in Hokkaido, Japan.

*Sensational Ogiwara had gone back to Kinki in order to collect her things and affairs. Yuu Onuki spent most of her time in the hotel or the corner restaurant. Her antiquated Sony VAIO rebelled against its over use as she conducted many worker transactions by E-mail. 19 workers had signed on with GAIA so far. There was an under current of 'choice' that the women were responding to, and it was working in GAIA's favor. Even Yuu had been surprised in the response. For many women that had appeared 'loyal and to the end' only appeared so because there was no place else to go.*

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20People/YuuOnuki.jpg

Yuu Onuki:

"North."

*The West had been kind to Yuu as well. She was thankful that her parents had insisted she study English all those years ago. Through much confusion and one 5 year old dictionary, Yuu had signed several women that she was more than excited to see. This was another thing that would make GAIA different from 5SSW. Yuu did not fear foreign talent. She would not separate them into 'us' and 'them'. They would be integrated and complete into her company. They would be champions.*

*The press conference had played out well. Pictures had been made and seen. They had even gotten a reaction out of The Lizard Queen. Recognition. But the signing of Hiranuma Makoto had been the most exciting move last week. His presence in the company had opened Hokkaido's heart to GAIA. The company was now Hokkaido's own and in Japan? The importance of that could not be overstated.*

*She had little time for personal matters. She could not stay in the hotel forever though. The longer she stayed, the more of her limited money was getting tied up in contracts, expenses and fees. Ogiwara-san and herself had set the tour schedule during their brief meeting: February, March, June, July, October, November: 54 shows in total. The schedule was strategic as they ran during 5SSW's off season ... for now. It was strategic as it focused on Hokkaido, Kanto and Kinki. She looked forward to Kinki most of all. It would drive The Lizard Queen mad and insane. It could be a dangerous thing.*

I like that Anime header you're using. :)

-It is from an old Japanese PS2 game called Wrestler Angels. I thought it was time for a new banner because it is a new chapter.

GAIA Announces Location of First Show of 'Earth Tour', Updates Roster

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/GAIA%20Logos/GAIAlogo.jpg

GAIA confirmed what many had already speculated. Their maiden tour will begin in their adopted region of Hokkaido. A few 'insiders' had claimed that Yuu Onuki and Sensational Ogiwara would launch in the Kinki region, home of 5SSW. This has now been dismissed as fabrication.

GAIA continues revealing their roster on their web page. Today they revealed something called Earth House being lead by Dragon Assassin. The roster and the rest of "Earth House" can be viewed at GAIA.co.jp:Roster:
