Lashley
is there a way to skip an entire event and just have the results shown to you the next day? rather than skipping through the commentary
Rebby
You have the be the first person I've ever seen want to SKIP the results. Everyone else wants MORE details to the fights. But regardless, to answer your question, no, you can't skip your own events.
BrokenCycle
I only watch my main events if they're title fights and I truly care.
BrokenCycle
So, if I run 6 fights on a PPV and have a worthy main and good co-main, how many prelim fights can I really get away with putting on the show as undercard matches? Is the 10% of the undercard really that significant?
Blackman
As many as you want, basically. 10% is not significant at all. Your even will never bomb if your main event is great.
HansLanda11
I run 20 fight cards all the time. I usually have a main event, co-main event, 8 undercard fights, and 10 prelims. The critical success on my cards have never been worse than average and occasionally I get a fantastic show but more often than not they are decent, good, or great
Iceisle
This may be an odd request... I'm working on a customized default database, and I want to change the name and logo for every promotion in the game (except a few that I plan on removing entirely), just for the sake of keeping things fresh. Can anyone name a fighter whose biography mentions one of the existing promotions? Dominic Ash is the only one I could come up with off the top of my head, but I felt like there were more. Unfortunately, my fighter count is up to 2,056 and it'll be a serious task to go through them all. I feel almost certain that there's another guy who has a mention of GAMMA, and possibly another with ALPHA-1, but they may have been from Afroduck's default redone mod. I think the community mod fighters account for a lot of the extras in his mod, so they may have been in there as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Worst case scenario, I'm sure I'll find them while I'm playing the game. Just wanted to go ahead and take care of it if possible. EDIT: Just remembered that Ross Bradley's biography mentions GAMMA. Iceisle
<p>Didn't want to make a Tech Support thread for this, in case I'm missing something simple.</p><p> </p><p> I'm trying to set a narrative to have a promotion add a Featherweight division, but for some reason it isn't working. Is there any reason for this to happen when the company is active (has been since the game start, actually) and they don't already have that weight class?</p><p> </p><p> I'm certain that I have the date right, and the right company and effect are selected. I wouldn't think it matters, but there are also plenty of unemployed Featherweight fighters available and the company has a ton of money.</p>
Blackman
<p>There are a number of issues known with the narratives not functioning the way they should be. This is probably because almost no one made mods that actually use them. This one, however, should work. Blackman
<p>More of a remark than anything else:</p><p> </p><p> Anyone else notice that fights are actually a little more 'fair' when you make them open weight?</p><p> </p><p> People with high weight-cutting will generally try to exploit this when fighting in a weight class, but when in an open weight fight with a lighter opponent they actually try to weigh in at they natural weight, even dropping down a little.</p><p> </p><p> There's also a small bug at this, as their official weight states a higher weight, which is just weird. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

Blackman
<p>Anyone notice that when you set fights to be judged on their whole, like in PRIDE, the judges automatically tend to value damage over control?</p><p> </p><p> I've had fighters dominate the rounds through controlling their opponent, but they didn't feel the need for any g&p. scyth
<p>Is there anyway to sign exclusive contracts?</p><p> </p><p> Some of the big names won't sign exclusive contracts which I don't mind but for example I signed cung lee and before he had his first fight another company offered him a contract I ended up renegotiating 3 times and ended up paying 60k in signing bonus's he had his first fight and another company has offered him another contract already.</p><p> </p><p> Same thing happened with palharris and stephen bonner. There's also a list in the Office that shows who needs dealing with.</p><p> </p><p> If you're talking about not being able to compete with the UFC \ bigger promotion, that's simply the nature of the business, it's hard to take down the market leader and always will be. VBigB
<p>Anyone have any thoughts on more nontraditional match formats (in terms of length and rounds)?</p><p> </p><p> I'm just getting back into the game after a long hiatus. I usually play 1-10min and 2-5min with 1-10min and 4-5min for titles. I was just wondering if anyone tried any of the longer round options (3-15min, 1-60min, etc) and your opinions on them.</p>
Blackman
<p>It's fine. Non are weird to play. If you have two people with bad conditioning and bad offensive skills go at it in a 60min 'iron man' match, you're asking for a 60 minute crapfest. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> But essentially, you can have pretty nice matches at that setting (if you handle the settings well). </p><p> </p><p> The fairest is perhaps the standard Pride rules, aka ALPHA-1's setup (so your setup), but with the excessive striking turned off. 5x5 will often lean towards the submission-based fighters as slipperyness is (i believe) not taken into account and both will get tired near the end. </p><p> </p><p> I also like 10x3 (no ref interruption) as it turns into technical 'points' battles à la boxing. In SIGMA, I tend to play with 2x10 (3x10) and really liking it. I also host a yearly event that has 1x15 and it's working out decently.</p><p> </p><p> But in general, the longer ones can just drag on and on. Some fighters will dominate without being able to finish, for example if their conditioning is lower. It will make for a boring match. You will also get optimal results performance-wise if you shy from the longer matches. There's the occasional epic 40-min'er that rates fantastic to excellent, but you're bound to get better results on average if you keep it shorter.</p><p> </p><p> My advice is to have some special yearly event in which you 'adapt' the match settings. Keeps things fresh.</p>

Makhai
I have a fighter that I signed a 5 fight contractwith . A few week's later I get an email saying he's now signed with Bamma but he still has 5 fights remaining with me. How does this work? Do i just wait until he's on the last fight and then negotiate it. Shouldn't he only sign contracts once he's down to his last fight? There're three types of contracts in this game meant to simulate reality. Exclusive: which is self-explanatory, Standard: which means the fighter isn't exclusive to you and can sign associate or exclusive deals elsewhere, and associate: which means anybody else can take them at anytime. The fighter expects less-and-less as you move down. Associate deals don't allow guaranteed fights so regional promotions can pinch pennies and keep their roster full. Make sure if you want to keep the fighter exclusive to you that you give him an exclusive deal. Or chances are, those predators will come swooping in and nab them if he has any popularity at all. scyth
ok thanks, well I guess the question is how do you sign the popular names to exclusive contracts? They will only sign associate deals and then get swooped on? Do I need to be more popular as a company to be able to sign exclusive? Everytime I sign a big name to an exclusive contract they reject it?
