Ibaraki Community Hall, Kanto, Japan

Company Meeting

* * * * *

*The entire company had been assembled around the ring. The owner of 5SSW, Sakurako Kagawa aka The Lizard Queen, now held court. Her voice carried strong and easily through the space, her years as a color commentator had refined that natural gift of public speaking. She was a self made woman from head to toe and 5SSW was her creation. She had done every job in 5SSW personally and repeatedly throughout the years. From wining and dining the Mayors of small town Japan to fixing broken down trucks with her teeth in the rain (true story), she had earned the respect of everyone... even the ones who were not born when it had all occured. Yuu, most of all, had a new found respect for her after her "hiatus" in America. If the Gods of Wrestling locked: Jeremy Stone, Richard Eisen, Tommy Cornell, Tetsuzan Kaneko and The Lizard Queen in a room and then said there could be only one? Yuu? Yuu would not bet against her.*

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWTalkingHeads/SakurakoKagawa.jpg

Sakurako Kagawa:

"Stamina, athletic ability and toughness, that is what I expect from you. That is what you'll give me. I know we are on our third show in three nights. You will also notice that the brain surgeon who planned this is no longer with us. But the deposits are paid. We're all here and those doors are going to open."

*The Lizard Queen walked back and forth slowly in the ring and all the eys went with her as she did.*

Sakurako Kagawa:

"The stars are going to shine tonight."

*A wide smile took to her face, the message and tone were clear. She believed in everyone of them at this moment. They would bring it all down tonight.*

Sakurako Kagawa:

"You and I have seen the card our dear little Yuu has created."

*She held up her copy as an illustration and visual reminder.*

Sakurako Kagawa:

"There is not one of you that does not have a chance to take a step forward tonight. This is the first big show of 2014. This is your future opening tonight. So when your running out of fuel tonight, and you will run out of fuel tonight, remember what is at stake and get up again. Then tomorrow you can sleep in knowing you don't have a single regret in your tough, little heads."

*They were all tired and beat up. It was true, but The Lizard Queen had opened the reserves with her speech. A seed of energy had taken root, and Kit Hatoyama clapped her hands together as The Lizard Queen and Yuu departed.*

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWTalkingHeads/TalkingKitHatoyama.jpg

Kit Hatoyama:

"Alright ladies, you heard the boss. It's time to dance the star dance..."

*Her voice was lost in sound of people moving. The time for talk was over.*

Disc 3:

Romi Yamato continues to fight for a renewal as her contract winds down. But the fight isn't getting any easier. Tonight she faces the All-Asian Champion, Otsune Tsumura, in a non-title bout. Many feel that this is Romi's last chance to turn things around.

Eri Sato still has quite a bit of buzz about her since her debut, but she has failed to find a way to turn that into victories. She is learning quickly that it is going to take more than dangerous feet to be a success in 5SSW. Etsuko Arihyoshi, on the other hand, is putting together enough wins that she is starting to turn heads. Since losing her World Title shot she has held her ground. If she can finish this tour on a strong note, she may be in the hunt again.

Our first title match of the night and the second meeting between these two teams. Saitoh & Hashimoto have had their issues, but when the bell rings? They have always pulled together for the victory. High Lady Outlaw are the hot, new team looking to take advantage of the Champions volatile existence. But they have gotten the attention of The Rainbow Girls as well, as Otsune Tsumura cost them a certain victory last night. Who ever can hold it together the longest will have to be the favorites tonight.

'The Butterfly' Chitose Ariwara has been reborn on a wind of change. But she is not the only one as Kiko Sakakibara picked up a nice victory over the youthful Eri Sato. Both of them have the wind beneath them, but it can only lift one to flight.

When things get personal in 5SSW, the cage is brought out. Things have definitely gotten personal between All Business and Gemmei Oonishi & Chiyeko Kita. When All Business re-formed, they did it on the backs of Gemmei & Chiyeko. That wasn't a good idea as they found themselves in a hornets nest instead of the Tag Team Title picture. The score is almost even, but the cage doesn't care about the numbers. The cage cares only about the now.

This could be the match of the night, but it will be hard to watch as Megumi Nakajima and Shiori Jippensha take their seething feud to the next level. You will be hard pressed to find two individuals in the world of wrestling who truly hate each other more. This fight is out of control and its destiny is to consume one if not both of them. Which one?

This is the crown jewel of this DVD collection with four of the biggest names in 5SSW fighting for the biggest prize. The alliances have broken down and 'The Future' Fuyuko Higa stands on her own. The DEVIL Karube has returned from the Crossroads. Yuma Maruya is in her Golden prime. While Saori Nakadan has proven a hundred times she will do ANYTHING to keep the title. The talent is off the scale. But the goal is shared by them all, to walk out the 5SSW World Champion. There can be only one

Otsune Tsumura vs. Romi Yamato

Not Yamato's time

Eri Sato vs. Etsuko Arihyoshi

Sato lost and Arihyoshi won last time, dont see a reason for it to be different.

5SSW Tag Team Titles:

High Lady Outlaw vs. HEART Saitoh© & Yu Hashimoto©

HLO has potential, but I think a little more seasoning as a team is warranted before they take the titles.

Chitose Ariwara vs. Kiko Sakakibara

The wings are still fluttering

Cage Classic:

All Business vs. Gemmei Oonishi & Chiyeko Kita

Raku in a cage spells bad things for her opponents

Cage Modern:

Megumi Nakajima vs. Shiori Jippensha

I like Megumi more, but I have a feeling Shiori gets the nod here

5 Star World Title:

DEVIl Karube vs. Fuyuko Higa vs. Saori Nakadan© vs. Yuma Maruya

Higa isn't as under Nakadan's thumb as she would like, and the DEVIL takes advantage of it. Honestly I could see any of them taking the match, even Higa ( although god knows what her attitude would be like then)

5SSW Japan's Warfare

Friday, Week 3, January 2014

Ibaraki Hall (Kanto)

* * * * *

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/Ibaraki.jpg

"Did you know?

Ibaraki is the #1 producer

of chestnuts in Japan."

* * * * *

*Yuu Onuki had been in a difficult position and place. Re-hired by 5SSW in the middle of a tour that she did not line or guide, she had turned the big and boxy thing to a course more her liking. It was not of beautiful construction, no? It was not the slow build of tempo she did usually try to fulfil. Many colors were missing from her palette and many names. But sill...*

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWTalkingHeads/TalkingYuu.jpg

Yuu Onuki:

"But still, yes?"

*They had done enough to leave Gunma Hall behind and move into Ibaraki Community Hall. The change had done them all quite and good. Three shows. Three nights. They would need all the good the could mine from the hearts that they owned. Yuu carried her usual and subdued smile as she took tickets from the hands of all. They were a new crowd with new eyes and that did raised Yuu's spirits too.*

Yuu:

"You will see how, yes? You will see who. You will see Joshi Puroresu tonight. She can be like the moon. Soft in the sky yet pulling Oceans with her teeth, she wears gold in her hair."

*Yuu paused in thought as people passed, smiling at her Oracle words. She smiled back.*

Yuu:

"You do not believe me, yes? Then step inside where it will all be and again."

Otsune Tsumura vs. Romi Yamato:

Otsune comes out strong from her corner and soon has Romi is all kinds of trouble. She caps off her offensive run with a Stepping Enzuigiri that causes Romi to seek shelter outside. Romi catches Otsune going up top and knocks the ropes to send her down hard. She does everything she can to keep Otsune down which finally escalates into Choke Attack which she barely breaks at 4. Romi gets behind Otsune and looks for the Yamatotal, but Otsune vines the leg. A stunning Reverse Chincrusher by Otsune sets her free to climb the turnbuckle. Flying Legdrop lands perfectly across the throat and the crowd counts along to 3.

Winner: Otsune Tsumura in 14:54

Grade: D+

Eri Sato vs. Etsuko Arihyoshi:

It seems the 5SSW roster are wise to Eri's stiff kicks, but they are still tough to stop. Etsuko keeps her space before catching one of the infamous kicks. Etsuko floats over a Single Leg Takedown and turns it into Seated Abdominal Stretch. With a hand full of hair, Eri breaks the hold and is up quick enough to deliver a stinging Soccer Kick to the back. She grabs another handful of hair, but Etsuko locks the arm and drags her back down, flailing. Arihyoshi Lockdown! Eri taps out quickly.

Winner: Etsuko Arihyoshi in 8:16.

Jaguar Endo vs. Umeko Hotta:

A slow and plodding affair that someone had to win. Most of the match consisted of trying to get position. Jaguar finally hit a Clothesline but Umeko didn't go down. Rake of the Eyes by Umeko and she sends Jaguar into the corner. Flying Knee Strike grazes off the mark so Umeko has to send Jaguar to the other corner. Another Flying Knee Strike, and it's still not pretty. But it's enough to get Umeko the win.

Winner: Umeko Hotta in 8:39.

  • Umeko Hotta was really off her game tonight.
  • The colour commentary gave the match a boost.
  • This match brought the crowd's mood down.

High Lady Outlaw vs. HEART Saitoh© & Yu Hashimoto©:

HEART shoves her own tag team partner before the match even starts as it is obvious Yu has not learned to shut her mouth. Huntress Makiko leads her team vocally, screaming commands at Hana and directing the flow of the match. High Lady Outlaw get Yu trapped in their corner and use every corner trick in the book to keep her there and wear her down. HEART is visibly stewing in the corner, and suddenly hops down from the apron to the crowds pleasure. Tag in by Huntress Makiko and they send Yu into the ropes, Bone Dryer on the return trip and the referee counts to three.

Winner and new Tag Team Champions: High Lady Outlaw in 9:08.

Chitose Ariwara vs. Kiko Sakakibara:

Kiko showed that speed and youth could get you into trouble as she sent Chitose realing with a series of deep Armdrag Takedowns. Chitose had to get out of the ring and re-think her approach to the match. Slowing things down seemed to work a little better as Chitose was able to pick her spots with more care. A Jumping DDT by Chitose on Kiko allowed her to pick up the pace. Kiko looked for the Kingdom Quake, but Chitose reversed it into the Victory Roll!

All Business vs. Gemmei Oonishi & Chiyeko Kita: Cage Classic:

In a repeat of last night, both Gemmei and Chiyeko attack first and quickly send their opponents flying into the walls of the cage before they can even get their robes off. That decision comes back to haunt them all too soon when Raku uses those same robes to literally tie Chiyeko's throat to the cage bar before drop kicking her against the unforgiving steel. All Business seem far more experienced at using the cage to inflict more damage, and the spark of Gemmei and Chiyeko begins to fade. Strong kick to the head by Chiyeko to Tomoko, but she is blindsided by a Missile Drop Kick from Raku. Stunner to Gemmei! Raku drags her by the hair and sets her up for the Swanton Bomb.

Megumi Nakajima vs. Shiori Jippensha: Cage Modern:

Nothing pretty about this match as Megumi goes straight after Shiori without waiting for the bell. A High Speed Back Drop gets Megumi a close 2. Shiori cacthes a break when Megumi gets hung up in the cage and Shiori centers on the same knee as last night. She drops everything she has across Megumi's knee, ending with a Modified Figure Four that has Megumi in agony. But she manages to escape by using the cage for leverage. It looks like her leg could buckle but she turns Shiori with a Delayed Lifting Backdrop that got the crowd on their feet. Megumi screams out loud. Nakajima Straight Jacket! 3!

Winner: Megumi Nakajima in 14:49.

DEVIl Karube vs. Fuyuko Higa vs. Saori Nakadan© vs. Yuma Maruya:

The referee holds up the 5SSW World Title and all the eyes are on it. He wisely steps back as he lowers the belt and the bell starts the action. DEVIL dominates the match early with fast-paced and energetic offense until Yuma back drops her over the top rope. Fuyuko gave Saori a Power Slam off the ropes, then went for the Higa Driver. Saori squirmed over the back and hit a Reverse DDT instead. Yuma managed to get the upper hand after an exhausting slugfest with DEVIL. The match then went back and forth. DEVIL set up the DEVIL Drop, but Yuma escaped. Yuma Special! She wraps the legs and DEVIL is eliminated! Super Kick from the blindside by Fuyuko, but Yuma rolls away and outside. Higa Driver on Saori! 3! We will have a new World Champion tonight. Yuma crawls back in and Fuyuko catches her easily. Side Back Suplex to Yuma but she turns the shoulder, sudden Rising Lariat! Fuyuko didn't see that coming and Yuma takes her chance. Yuma Special! The leg is cradled! 3!

Winner and new 5SSW World Champion: Yuma Maruya in 14:57.

  • The announcing job done by Sayuri Sakoda was pretty weak.

d(-_^)good!! :

2 Cage matches with feeling and the Main Event? That's how you close out a big show. All Business win their feud, as it should be. While Megumi breaks even with Shiori in an ugly, ugly, lovely match. How do you top that? Yuma Maruya winning the strap of course. My only complaint? Too short, those 4 should have gone all night long.

(>_<) :

I know. I know. The IWC is never satisfied, but what 5SSW is doing with Otsune is criminal neglect. She is one of the longest reigning All-Asian Champions ever, and they can't get her a title match on their big January show? They really dropped the ball there.

(x_x) :

If I never watch Umeko Hotta and Jaguar Endo wrestle again, it will still be too soon. It was like watching two sleepy, water buffaloes trying to mate with no water within a 100 mile radius. These two should be working dark matches against the Young Lions and that's all.

End of Line:

The good far out weighs the bad. 5SSW put on an awesome show in front of a growing Kanto crowd. 5SSW has to be happy with the way things went down, and with the inroads they made in the #1 region in Japan.

Our first big show of the return. Only 2 people did see Yuma Maruya reclaiming gold. I knew Saori's time was done the moment the doors did open to me again. The previous booker did Fuyuko no favors, a thing she does deserve but not good for the business at hand. Yuma has been the Female Wrestler of the Year twice and it may not be stopping. But do not count the DEVIL down or out. She will never rest. That is my thinking here. Two more shows before the tour does wind to stop. It is strange timing. I look forward to April and Spring.

Monday, Week 4, January 2014:

*Everyone had been exhausted after the three night stand in Kanto. There had been no after party as everyone had just wanted to climb into bed. They collectively had nothing left to give. But the effort had been rewarded quite well. 5SSW Japan’s Warfare had been a success, by their Regional standards, and it had given them a strong base to build on in Kanto. The title changes, while slightly pushed had been sorely needed and put Yuu’s small fingerprints on the second half of the tour.*

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWTalkingHeads/SakurakoKagawa.jpg

Sakurako Kagawa:

“Two title changes, Yuu? You must be ecstatic.”

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWTalkingHeads/TalkingYuu.jpg

Yuu Onuki:

“Yes? You think that is in my mind?”

Sakurako:

“I haven’t met a booker in all of my years that didn’t love titles changing hands. It’s like an addiction to your breed. As soon as someone wins a title, you are trying set up their eventual downfall.”

*Yuu had to think about that for a moment or two before she could find a reply.*

Yuu:

“You give me too much power, no? Saori Nakadan is not my enemy of hands. Her enemy is the time. She is 36 years old and tomorrow we will all be older still… it is and eventual that the younger pass them to their own time. If I do facilitate/

Sakurako:

“Facilitate? Oh, that’s a tricky little word.”

Yuu:

“Perhaps, yes.”

Sakurko:

“No need to be slippery Yuu. I approve of what happened last night. Yuma is our best wrestler. She’s young, energetic and people connect to her. Find her a good opponent and she will carry the next tour and move some merchandise as well. Now, about your little pet announcer?"

Yuu:

“You gave her 90 days of your calendar, Kagawa-san.”

Sakurako:

“Yes, and I meant it. But I am tired of announcers making my company look amateurish. First we have no announcer, and now we have this child.”

Yuu:

“She has the talent. You do know that. Your ear, yes?”

Sakurako:

“Yes, but I want a back-up in place before the 90 days is up. If she goes, I don’t want to play anymore games. Call Chisu.”

*Yuu stopped, and set her coffee cup down. Kuniyoshi Chisu was, of course, the voice of 5SSW. He had been the voice of 5SSW since before Yuu’s first stint with 5SSW. He knew the product, the history, the people and the politics as well as anyone. He was the perfect choice except for one small problem. He had been the Head Booker during Yuu’s absence, and he had angrily quit when she had returned.*

Yuu:

“Me, Kagawa-san?”

Sakurako:

“Of course, Yuu. If you two are ever going to work together again. You are going to have to work through this whole mess I’ve created. You should make the first call, which Chisu will undoubtedly call you several heart felt names before hanging up. But the seed will be there. Then I will call him later like the sunshine he needs.”

*Yuu looked up from her cup.*

Yuu:

“You are nothing like the sun or its shine, Kagawa-san.”

*But the clever words would change nothing. The Lizard Queen had spoken, and Yuu would call Kuniyoshi Chisu just as she had said.*

Disc 1:

One week removed from Japan’s Warfare 2014, 5SSW returns to Ibaraki on the last leg of the Uprising Tour. New Champions are in action, and contenders start the long journey all over again.

* * * * *

DEVIL Karube came up short in her latest title bid. It was her arch-nemesis, Yuma Maruya, who walked away with the 5SSW World Title. Her mood is certain to be foul and focused when she faces fan favorite, Chiyeko Kita.

* * * * *

Gemmei Oonishi has recently stepped up her game, giving All Business all they could handle before finally falling in a cage match at Japan’s Warfare. Tonight she’s back in singles action against an increasingly desperate Romi Yamato. Romi is in her contract month, and looking for any kind of momentum to seal another deal from 5SSW.

* * * * *

Chitose Ariwara has been soaring on the wind of change, but tonight the wind grow stronger. Tomoko Nagatsuka is technically stronger and coming off a victorious run in All Business. It will take more than butterfly wings to take Chitose over her next challenge.

* * * * *

High Lady Outlaw may be the perfect mix of age, experience, youth and power as they swooped in and grabbed the titles from a disintegrating union of Saitoh and Hashimoto. But they may have gotten the attention of the wrong team as The Rainbow Girls have memories like elephants. They have not forgotten High Lady Outlaws two on one assault on Kiko.

* * * * *

Like DEVIL Karube, Fuyuko Higa finds herself back at the bottom of the mountain, looking for a path back to the top. Her first step? ‘The Firefly’ Yori Toyoshima, a high flying veteran who can still take to the air.

* * * * *

HEART Saitoh has always found success in tag team wrestling. Ultimate Devastator Lemons set the 5SSW tag team scene ablaze. But the team of HEART Saitoh and Yu Hashimoto has burst into flames, costing them the tag team titles. Their will be no title re-match as HEART and Yu collide tonight.

* * * * *

Etsuko Arihyoshi caused quite a stir when she was only seconds away from a major upset again Saori Nakadan. If it weren’t for Fuyuko’s intereference, who knows what might have been. Tonight there is no title, and there is no Fuyuko. There is only pride and a chance for Etsuko to set the record straight, while Saori looks for a title shot against Yuma Maruya.

* * * * *

The 5SSW World Championship changed hands last week as Yuma Maruya walked out of Japan’s Warfare with the gold. Tonight she proves herself a fighting Champion as she takes on the always unpredictable Raku Makuda. With All Business reunited, Yuma will have to keep her eyes wide open in Ibaraki.

Show Name: 5SSW Uprising Tour (Wednesday)

Held: Wednesday, Week 4, January 2014

Location: Ibaraki Community Hall (Kanto)

* * * * *

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/Ibaraki.jpg

"Did you know that?

Ibaraki is home to Kairakuen,

one of Japan's three most celebrated gardens,

and famous for its over 3,000 Japanese plum trees of over 100 varieties."

* * * * *

*Yuu sat in the cab of the 5SSW truck, her small body folded against itself under a bomber jacket two sizes too big. It was all by design, part jacket and part blanket hybrid. The snow marked time on the windshield, each flake stealing a little more of the view and noise outside. Yuu was neither asleep nor awake, her view somewhere in between as the truck's heater whirled white noise lullabies. This was her Fortress of Solitude. This was her Octopus Garden. This was her life in the shells of nuts.*

*Outside of the truck, the voices moved in many and ways. Closer moving, farther leaving before returning again. Human Beings were always in motion, making things and tearing them down if only to repeat again.*

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWTalkingHeads/TalkingYuu.jpg

Yuu Onuki:

“Again and again and again and again.”

*One would think that a bitter a song. But to Yuu it was not. It simply was and carried no weight in her soul. This is what they did, as other people did their own. But yet how strange this particular niche in the universe was. How had they all come here beneath the falling snow of Ibaraki to put on the show of Joshi Puroresu? What kind of song drew them here?*

Yuu:

“Would it be my ears to recognize it?”

*She doubted any of them knew the words to the song that led them. Yuu had her own theories as to the melody. They were all and essentially of the broken kinds. It was the only explanation. Broken things wind down. Broken things wind up here.*

Yuu:

“Wind me up again and the lines will dance for you.”

*Take a name out of the hat for the proof and same of evidence. Umeko Hotta, the intelligent woman of book and words and thoughts will never walk the same again. She could have been so many things on the surface. On the surface so much and more to have been. DEVIL Karube? What could she have not done? Focus, determination and the skill most physical. Pure qualities the world adores and pays high for. Yet she too wound down into the Lizard Queen’s menagerie of violence, and here she would most likely and surely do her staying. What was the song again?*

Yuu:

“What were the words and the rhymes?”

*Yuu herself muddled deep as any other, could she have not been? A poet? A painter? A mother? A gardener? But here she was all of the above and still not one. The Head Booker of 5SSW, the women were her words, colors, children and flowers with which she did create… nothing. A fantasy of violence, mixed with reality until it was pure and escape. It was a wonderful thing for the fans. It was a trap for those inside. A happy trap of songs and colors, but a trap none nor less.*

Yuu:

“I never went away…”

*Yuu had left for 3 years upon the wind of trade. But there was not one single second that she did not know and hear that she would return again. She would start again in the very same of places. Broken toys don’t dream of being new again. They are broken, not stupid.*

Yuu:

“Yes?”

KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK

Yuu:

“Yes?”

*It’s time again, past the windshield blanketed white. Her arms find the sleeves, hands the door and she jumps to the waiting Earth below, closing the door behind her.*

* * * * *

Dark Match:

Eri Sato & Umeko Hotta vs. Jaguar Endo & Megumi Nakajima:

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Eri Sato and Umeko Hotta defeated Megumi Nakajima and Jaguar Endo in 6:08 when Umeko Hotta defeated Jaguar Endo by pinfall with a Flying Knee Strike.

During the match we also had Shiori Jippensha run in and attack Nakajima.

Chiyeko Kita vs. DEVIL Karube:

Nobody should ever doubt Chiyeko’s quiet fighting spirit as she took the fight to DEVIL from the opening bell. A High Spin Kick took DEVIL off her feet and gave Chiyeko a chance. Chiyeko kept the offensive pressure high until DEVIL caught her on the apron and snapped her neck across the top rope. With control back in her hands, DEVIL put on one of her infamous wrestling clinics that was punctuated with a Fisherman DDT. DEVIL dragged Chiyeko up by the hair, and finished her off in the center of the ring with the DEVIL Drop.

Winner: DEVIL Karube in 15:09

  • DEVIL Karube is improving in Technical skills.

Grade: C

Post-match Interview:

Devil Karube: “You don’t want to talk about Chiyeko? I’m not surprised by that. Another youth movement by 5SSW that will lead absolutely nowhere. We did this three years ago. It’s like history repeating itself, only this time I’m not going to waste my time, and there are others like me. We’re taking it all with us and it starts on the next tour. History will never repeat itself again. You have my word on that.”

Gemmei Oonishi vs. Romi Yamato:

Gemmei still has some fire in her after a long and disappointing tour. She hits Romi with a series of chops and kicks that lead to Flipping Dropkick. Gemmei keeps up the pressure until Romi grabs two handfuls of hair, snapping Gemmei to the ground. Romi tries to do some damage, but Gemmei gets back up to her feet. Spinning Huracanrana by Gemmei and she jumps up top for the Flying Dagger Leg Drop. Connects! Gemmei wraps Romi up for the 3.

Winner: Gemmei Oonishi in 11:56.

Grade: D

Post-match Interview:

Gemmei Oonishi: “I’m really happy that I got to show the fans what I can do for once. I always seem to mess up in the end. But tonight? I could get Romi down for the Flying Dagger Leg Drop. I will do my best tomorrow night too!”

Chitose Ariwara vs. Tomoko Nagatsuka:

Chitose claps her hands together and the crowd soon joins in as she circles Tomoko. They lock-up and Tomoko has the advantage until Chitose flips out of an Armbar and takes Tomoko down with a deep Armdrag. Tomoko uses a Choke to drive Chitose back. She begins to work on the arm for a second time and scores a huge Jumping Arm Breaker which has Chitose covering up. Tomoko looks for the Shoulder Breaker to inflict even more damage, but Chitose reverses it into the Victory Roll. Tomoko kicks out a second too late.

Winner: Chitose Ariwara in 11:50

Grade: D+

Post-match Interview:

Chitose Ariwara: “I know it’s confusing. Where am I coming from? I knew when things changed this month, it was my last chance to change my luck. So I did. Otsune Tsumura, I think I’m getting close to you. I hope I will be a challenge for you when we finally meet.”

High Lady Outlaw© vs. The Rainbow Girls:

This match has some history and Kiko looks to get her hands on the young and sometimes rash, Hana. Armdrag by Kiko, followed by a Snapmare into a Chinlock. The pace picks up when Otsune tags in. She sends Hana flying into the ropes, but Huntress gets the unseen tag. Tokyo Express on Otsune! She never saw it coming, and Kiko get blasted from the apron by Hana. Huntress stalks her prey from the same blind side and locks in the Makiko Clutch. Hana ties up Kiko. Otsune has to tap.

Winner: High Lady Outlaw in 9:10.

  • High Lady Outlaw make defence number 1 of their 5 Star Tag Team titles.
  • Kiko Sakakibara has a dreadfully stale character, a change is really needed. The announcing quality wasn't up to the same standard as the match.

Grade: C

Post-match Interview:

Huntress Makiko: “The Rainbow Girls? Otsune would be smart if she took Kiko out back and came back alone. She’s done, Otsune and I know what I’m talking about. The same thing happened to me and my ex-partner. Except I’m not sentimental like Otsune. I ran Ikuyo out of this company and then I hand picked her replacement, Hana Iijema. She knows her place. She knows her job and she knows what will happen if she doesn’t listen to me. That’s why we are the Tag Team Champions, and that’s why this is just the beginning..”

‘The Future’ Fuyuko Higa vs. ‘The Firefly’ Yori Toyoshima:

Yori Toyoshima is not impressed with ‘The Future’ as most veterans aren’t. She ducks Fuyuko’s clothesline and hits Wheel Kick after turning on a 1 yen coin. Fuyuko decides to hit reset button and slow things down. A handful of hair finally breaks the back and forth and Fuyuko drops Yori with a Reverse Powerbomb. Yori is down but manages to get out at 2. It only stalls the inevitable as Fuyuko keeps control, stopping short an offensive flurry by Yori. A Higa Green Driver settles the match, and Fuyuko lays her arm across the face. Insult to injury = 3.

Winner: Fuyuko Higa in 11:46

Grade: D+

Post-Match Interview:

Fuyuko Higa: “Everyone knows I should be the World Champion. Everyone! That includes Yuma especially. She knows that, one on one, she can’t beat me. I’m the most talented Joshi Puroresu ever, and I will be the World Champion before this is all said and done. Because you know the old saying, The Future waits for no one.”

HEART Saitoh vs. Yu Hashimoto:

Intense stare down with Yu running her mouth the entire time. She’s like the anti-Rei and HEART has had enough as she Urakens the taste right out of Yu’s mouth. HEART takes advantage of the staggered Yu with a high paced offensive wave that is punctuated with a Delayed Brainbuster and a loooong 2. Yu rolls out of the ring, and clips HEART low when she pursues. No guard rails at Ibaraki Community Hall so HEART is whipped back into the 3rd row of chairs. 5SSW is personal. Yu guides HEART around by the hair, planting her face into a chair before dragging her back to the ring. High Knee by HEART, but it’s desperation and not enough. More hair by Yu, snap goes The End Game. 3!

Winner: Yu Hashimoto in 15:29

Grade: C

Post-match Interview:

Yu Hashimoto: “HEART you were lucky to have me as a partner and your luck just kicked your ass. I know you HEART. I know you don’t have what it takes to beat me.”

Etsuko Arihyoshi vs. Saori Nakadan:

This match is huge for Etsuko Arihyoshi and it shows as she takes her time, making every shot count. Everyone knows she is a submission expert, so she makes no attempt to hide her target. A Jumping Armbreaker makes it all crystal clear for Saori especially as she holds her arm afterwards. Saori stays close to the ropes, luring the hungry Etsuko in for a cheap shot to the throat. She takes Etsuko down and begins to punish her on the mat with a series of chokes and punches. But Etsuko gets the arm again! Saori makes the ropes with ease and has to break. Time is long and the damage is done on both ends, but Saori has had more impact. She looks for the Nakadan Spike. But Etsuko drops down with Saori’s arm. Arihyoshi Lockdown! Etusko digs her heels in, and stops any escape. Saori taps!

Winner: Etsuko Arihyoshi in 14:03

Grade: C

Post-match Interview:

Etsuko Arihyoshi: “I… I just…. I wanted to do my best and I just… just wanted a fair fight. I was close last time. I… You know… this is my life.”

Raku Makuda vs. Yuma Maruya©

Raku attacks before Yuma can even finish posing with her new World Championship. She sends the Champion for a ride and flattens her with a Somersault Kick, but picks her up before she can even be called down. Stunner attempt, but Yuma pushes out and gets a quick Dropkick to the back of Raku’s favorite head. Stalemate, and it would remain pretty even until about 12 minutes in when Yuma connect with a Back Neckbreaker Drop near the corner. Here comes Shiori Jippensha! But she’s Blindsided by Megumi Nakajima. Shiori doesn’t even make the ring apron as Megumi unloads on her. Yuma is oblivious and jumps to the top turnbuckle to finally finish her pose that was so rudely interrupted earlier. Split-Legged Moonsault is on target and Raku is down for the count.

Winner: Yuma Maruya in 14:54

  • Raku Makuda was visibly tiring toward the end.
  • Yuma Maruya makes defence number 1 of her 5 Star World title.

Grade: D+

Post-match Interview:

Yuma Maruya: “All the awards are nice. It’s nice to be recognized by our industy. But 5SSW is my home, and the World Championship means the most to me. All the truly great women who have held this belt, like Nyoko Tashtala… Sensational Ogiwara… Crusher Ichihara, I mean those women made this belt mean something. I just hope I can keep their high standards and keep their legacy alive. That’s what 5SSW is all about and that’s what the fans deserve.”

"DEVIL Karube is improving in Technical skills."

Impossible. How you can improve on perfection? And from a lesser opponent, no less?

I know, and this is like the third time this tour. :eek:

It makes me question my own lines and minds the same.

Perhaps Yuma was a mistake. :p
