Okay, here's the first question for ya.

 

I've found a picture of Eddy Gordo in an armored suit. I believe it's from when he was in the Tekken Force, and the picture was from a web comic or something. Is this a regular role of his, or is it likely just a one off?

 

I ask because that's the best picture I've found of him (everything else has either been so-so or "is that eddy gordo or a random black guy with dreads?" at best) and would love to use it as his base, even though it's not the look I typically associate with a capoeria fighter.

Eddie's traditional attire is yellow and green, while his secondary is a purple shirt and black jeans: He definitely wouldn't be known to wear armour

Yeah, they're more than likey Soldiers of the Mishima Zaibatsu, the megacorp controlled (at different times) by Heihachi Mishima, his son Kazuya Mishima or his grandson Jin Kazama. The Mishima Zaibatsu are basically just either Heihachi Kazuya's goons/private army in most games, except in Tekken 6 where everything about the story IS TURNED UP TO EVELVEN and suddenly Jin using them to rule the world, or at least a chuck of it.

 

The Tekken force is an elite unit of the Mishima Zaibatsu by the way, so there's basically the same thing.

I don't have my own laptop right now, it's gone for repairs so I can't check the existing 9000verse, but some notable missing names would be:

 

Craig Marduk: King II's arch rival; his character, despite being a Vale Tudo fighter, was HIGHLY influenced by wrestling, and Nathan Jones in particular. If only two guys from Tekken were going to make it into TEW, it'd be Craig and King II.

 

Lars Alexandersson: Since you've included a number of Tekken 6 characters, it's odd you've left out it' protagionist, Lars. Lars is YET ANOTHER member of the Mishima bloodline...basically the makers of the game add one every game it seems.

 

Christie Monteiro: In a BOLD move she was introduced in Tekken 4 to basically be the female Eddy Gordo; on top of that she was a default character and Eddy could only be unlocked after quite a bit of playing the game. Not as popular as Eddy but an important character in the game, she's basically his tag team partner.

 

On that list you have, you could drop Bruce Irvin, Kuma and Panda as while they're recurring characters aren't really over (Bruce in particular). Baek Doo San is another guy who could meet the chopping block.

 

I haven't played Tekken 6 (But you know what? I think I might buy it tommorow) but if I had to break down the Tekken fighters into a roster, It'd look like this

 

Main Eventers:

* Jin Kazama: No question the Ace of the Tekken promotion; he zoomed into the upper card upon his debut in Tekken 3 and has NEVER looked back.)

* Heihachi Mishima: The old master: founder of the Tekken promotion and it's most experienced veteran. Despite old age has managed to retain his spot on the card. One of his two in-game finishers is legitimately a jumping spinning powerbomb)

* King II: Has never been Tekken champion but his feud with Craig Marduk has been a major focus of the promotion

* Yoshimitsu: The Great Muta of Tekken; Yoshimitsu's mystic and mysterious aura has made him an odd favourite of the Tekken fans. The long term rival to Bryan Fury.

* Hwoarang: Burst onto the scene in the Tekken 3 era as the protege of Baek, his style is VERY respected by the fans. He's noted for his long running rivalry with Jin Kazama.

* Eddy Gordo: Despite being somewhat neglicted storyline-wise, Eddy has as a massive following in Tekken. He's noted for his excellent in-ring skills and his rivalry with Kazuya Mishima.

 

Upper Midcarders

* Ling Xiaoyu: Definetely the most clear cut face in Tekken, she captured the Tekken fans hearts with a combination of her adorable personality and her interesting fighting style (which is fairly high in flash in TEW terms). Noted for her long term pineing for Jin Kazama

* Paul Phoenix: A LONG time favourite of the Tekken fans, he's been on the roster since day 1. His popularity peaked aroudn the Tekken III era when an angle was run were he beat the champion Ogre to "win" the tournament. Alas, a dusty finish was run and Orge returned in a transformed mode, leading to Jin Kazuma to beating Ogre to take the Championship.

Since then Phoenix has slipped down the card somewhat, and has recently formed a stable (this legit happened in the game) with Steve Fox and Marshall Law. (The stable doesn't have a name as such but could definately be represented in the game)

* Kazuya Mishima: Orginally a main eventer, Kazuya has fallen into somewhat of a natural role as gate keeper to the main event of Tekken; A big win over him normally signals the rise of a newcomer, while losing signals they'll remain further down.

* Emilie De Rochefort aka Lili: Definetely part of the new guard in Tekken, Lili has surged in popularity since her debut (she has seriously popularity amongst girls it seems), and seems poised to be the new favourite female amongst the Tekken fans.

* Nina Williams: Long time veteran; was the main female fighter in the promotion in the early era. Her great look and badass character have kept her a favourite after all these years.

* Asuka Kazama: A firm fan favourite, she had the massive boost to her debut as being billed as Jun Kazama's cousin; luckily for her she has the skills to justify this.

 

 

Midcard:

* Craig Marduk: The noted arch enemy of King II, his feud with King II has been excellent but hasn't elevated Marduk out of the midcard pack

* Bryan Fury: Quite possibly the most vicious and brutal Tekken roster member (in TEW terms a brawler and hardcore maniac, but lacking charisma), he's never found quite the right storyline to take into the main focuses of the company

* Steve Fox: Debuted to much fanfare in the Tekken 4 era, his arrival was much hyped. He's got stuck in the midcard somewhat though after losing some steam, and is now part of a stable with Paul Phoenix and Marshall Law. He continues to have a large following though, as his in ring style is very respected.

* Marshall Law: He touched the main event in terms of popularity around the Tekken 3 era, his flash so off the charts it totally wow'd the ways. However he never got a serious push towards the championship and this slide him into the midcard. Traditionally an ally of Paul Phoenix the two have formed a stable with Steve Fox.

* Christie Monteiro: After Eddy Gordo surged in popularity Christie Monteiro was introduced as his female equivant. Although she never took off the way he did, she is valued as his tag team partner.

* Raven: Pocessesing possibly the coolest look in Tekken with quite a look of flash to boot, Raven is one the younger generation making his way in Tekken

 

Lower midcard/openers

* Anna Williams: Long time veteran, she's always been in the shadow of her sister Nina. She fell rapidly down the card as Tekken hired new and most exciting members, however she did have a career revival when her long running feud with her sister was stepped up again in Tekken 5.

* Baek Doo San: The mentor and tag team partner of Hwoarang; Hwoarang's charisma meant he broke out in a way Doo San never could, despite working similar styles.

* Feng Wei: A new comer to Tekken, he pocesses some of the best power game in the promotion.

* Kuma: Known for this long running feud with Paul Phoenix

* Panda: The long standing tag team partner of Ling Xiaoyu

Christie is on that list and I believe you'll already find Marduk in the 9000-verse as a part of the ArcFight promotion

 

Thanks for the heads up on Lars. I'll try to include him but it's all down to whether I find decent pictures of him (I guess most of Tekken 6's roster is there because they all have hand drawn prologues on the PSP version of the game, which I could use).

 

Also thanks for the brief descrips and popularity breakdowns. Abilities and popularity will probably be fudged to reflect their age (so younger characters have room to improve and won't end up with A+'s across the board), but it definitely gives me a good foundation to work off of. Everything will likely be relative to Jin and Kazuya's ratings which are already in the mod as well

While I appreciate the sentiment, I would argue that that's even more reason to have him in the game. For me personally, the one thing which I feel the 9000-verse is lacking is characters who aren't that great and can do the job to others. This could be applied likewise to guys like Bruce Irvin.

 

However, your opinion is duly noted: without it, I might have bumped his popularity higher than expected, just due to his inclusion in SF vs Tekken. This way I'll be able to job him out

Well I'm no mod expert, but I was just wondering... is there any semi-easy way to separate DC/Marvel into two separate promotions? I was thinking just moving all of the DC characters contracts into MFC would do the trick. And then edit MFC and their prestige/money/etc to be the same as MDC and what not. Would this work?

In theory that it should work to a degree. You may need to alter the product of MFC as well, so it's more entertainment focused perhaps.

 

The main thing to consider however, is that you'll be losing half of the roster by doing that, so you'll either need to replace them, or leave it up to the AI to do a bulk hiring. If you wanted around that, you'd want to drop the size of the promotions until the roster size is about right

As for TOEI, I've never really been able to figure that one out. And what's more annoying is that it didn't used to be an issue (can't remember if it was prior to a patch or the move from tew08 to tew10).

 

I think it may be to do with their size. I haven't got the promotion in front of me atm, but I think that they're set as being a pretty major player in in the industry, but still set to be behind some of the others, and it's possible that because of that they decided "hey lets not keep our brand".

 

Then again, I can't recall what their tv/ppv deals are like either. If one of the brands is lacking exposure, that may be another reason for it. While I like having the brands for player choice, I really should put some effort into fixing it so the AI maintains the brands. It does look a little amateurish when the AI renegs on the gameworld you set up.

With the arrival of the rapper turned wrestling superstar Eminem. Gonna be using him alot on the mic since well his wrestling skills are not the greatest overall and dude cant hang in long matches.

The fast food wars are heating up as the heel team of Sanders and McDonald are feuding with Col Sanders(you need to make Jack in the box i looked and could not find him) Sanders needs a partner.Tag team seen is heating up big time with AJ/Daniels and Nukem/Dredd getting big pushes.

Forlan has been holding off challenges by both Madam Ryland and Azreal Ryland. But the main event scene in general has gotten allot bigger. With the arrival of the rapper turned wrestling superstar Eminem. Gonna be using him alot on the mic since well his wrestling skills are not the greatest overall and dude cant hang in long matches.

Angel and Spike should be quite possible for the next update. In fact, I'm going to mark it down right now in my notepad. (From what I recall, I think I also have pictures for Illyria, Gunn, and Drusilla... hmmm)

 

I'm not sure about jack in the box, but Wendys may be possible.. I think I saw a decent picture a while back. It was too small at the time to do anything with it, but now I've got a way to vectorize graphics I think I'll be able to make small pictures bigger without too much quality loss.

 

Anyway, thanks for the update -- it's always good to hear how things are working out since I usually just have to guess how people will end up playing something as crazy as this

Yea it was Aaron lol i forgot. And not only was it Madam that said oh heck no don't bring him back but 2 other workers also lol.

 

Only problem i can see coming up down the road is raiding by larger feds. We all know how that goes lol. That is why im going to build up Faith and mei slowly.

I can see both possibly being snatched up if there other stats start to rise on par with there Ariel stats.

 

Maybe i should let Remian manage them since he is a 89 on mic and let Hamster handle Buffy who is only a 50 mid par with her mic skills.What do you think.
