Just a quick note while I'm trying to get the kids out the door to school, if the actor you want isn't on the listed then just guess a price and I can adjust your spending when I rate the film if I need to. Just still be sure to mention to me that they need added

Frisky T-Rex Productions (Budget: $1,000,000)

Title- The Green Sheet

Lead Actress- Kathy Bates (40,000)

Lead Actor- Matthew Fox (20,000)

Supporting Actor- Jason Alexander (30,000)

Supporting Actress- Rosie O’Donnell (10,000)

Director - Sam Raimi (175,000)

Genre- Horror

Plot- Inspired by the impossible true story*… Janet McConnolly (Kathy Bates) was always the kindest of souls throughout her life, helping those in need, even if they probably didn’t deserve. She saw the good in all people, but unfortunately, evil saw the good in her… or, so she claimed, following a rash of horrifying events in her sleepy, secluded home deep in the American South shattered her tranquil world. The evil deeds, she said, perpetrated by something she only referred to as “the green sheet”, a purported demonically possessed piece of linen!

As buzz from the paranormal community rages over the incredible haunting of the Mississippi home, it quickly reaches the ears of Dustin Turnbow (Matthew Fox), a self-described “professional skeptic”, a man who makes his living off debunking the mythical and mystical. With his newest book “Supernatural? More Like Super-FICTION!” nearing completion, Dustin realizes that the preposterous story of a malevolent green blanket is exactly what he needs to show the world how moronic it is to believe in such.

Dustin travels down into rural Mississippi, where Janet gladly welcomes him into her home, much to the anger of Janet’s greedy, self-serving children Lynnette (Rosie O’Donnell) and Cyrus (Jason Alexander), who see Dustin as a threat to the money they’d like to inherit from their mother once she passes. Dustin’s suspicions early in the night seem proven, with numerous small incidents quickly, and logically, explained by the skeptic in manners that don’t require ghosts, climaxing after Cyrus is caught rigging the air vent to make the “green sheet” appear to float on its own (followed by Lynnette attempting to seduce Dustin into not telling anyone about that).

However, as Dustin Turnbow lays down to finally rest, a grin crossing his face at the thoughts of the money he’ll make off these Southern idiots, he is jolted from his near slumber by a chilling sound of reality: blood-curdling screams from the floor below. As he rushes downstairs, he comes across a most horrifying scene: Lynnette, mouth agape and bulging eyes, lying dead on of the floor… her neck adorned with bruises… and the green sheet, neatly folded just a few feet away from her. As Dustin goes for the phone to call the police to report the obvious murder by either Janet or Cyrus, it becomes apparent that something else is amiss… not only are the phone lines down, but every door to the house has been locked… from the outside.

Soon, the trivial task turns to a fight for survival, as those trapped in the house deal with an evil far greater than Dustin could ever imagine. Stalked through the old plantation home by the terrifying rustling of cloth, it is Cyrus who meets his fate next. Ignoring the bloody message of “No Escape” above an open window, Cyrus attempts to climb out… only to recoil from it, the green sheet firmly and tightly affixed around his face as the diabolical sheet muffles his cries of terror. As its grip loosens with the death of Cyrus, Dustin pitches the blanket through the window, watching in joy as drifts away in the window…

But as they return downstais, there it is again: the green sheet, neatly folded on the couch. An attempt to bury it, however, meets similar results. Finally, Dustin resolves to burn the green sheet, with the entire house soon engulfed in the flames.

Afterwards, he says his goodbyes to the mourning Janet, and goes to finish his new book “Supernatural, Super-FACT”. In the final scene, he gets off the phone with his publisher, both of them knowing that he’s about to become an incredibly rich and famous man… he sets the final copy on his desk, and heads into his bedroom… and as he flips on the lights, there it is, neatly folded on his bed: the green sheet. We pan out to a shot of his home, a scream of mortal terror coming from somewhere in its depths.

Location- Gulfport, Mississippi

Budget- (Crew: 275,000, Production: 100,000 Marketing 125,000) TOTAL 500,000

I was going to sit down to do this one, but I think I would like the full plot beginning to end, not just a synapsis. If another mod wants to do it this way that's cool too, but I think I need a full story to give it a proper review.

100,000 in production. That is one NICE green sheet :p

Well, gotta have the high quality CGI for when the sheet is fluttering through the air, chasing Matthew Fox down a hallway.

And lighting. Gotta set the atmospheric, Southern Gothic tone of the film. The movie might suck, but I'll be damned if it ain't good to look at!

It's based on someone I know in real life... so you probably can't "read up" on it anywhere. And... yeah, don't quite feel comfortable talking about the rest of it.

But, I can assure you, The Green Sheet is legitimately inspired by stuff from real life.

The Boyd Brothers Gang, head up by Robert Boyd (Paul Walker) and his brother James (Jensen Ackles), have just pulled off a daring robbery of the First National Bank in Webber, Arizona (fictional town.). The Boyd Brothers thought they had a free and clear path to Mexico. However, this was not the case as they were being doggedly pursued by Sheriff Rathborne (Josh Brolin) and his posse.

One of the members of the Boyd Brothers Gang, a Native American by the name of Running Deer (Adam Beach), tells the brothers that he knows of an out of the way town were the gang can hide out. The inhabitants of the town do not take kindly to law enforcement officials from other towns coming into their town. The brothers agree to head to this town.

Upon arriving at this town, the Boyd Brothers are greeted by a bevy of beautiful women. The Boyd Brothers gladly accept this welcom committee. The women bring the Boyd Brothers back to a house of ill repute were the brothers are told by the Madame (Amanda Tapping) that they can stay the night and partake in the local pleasures. Something the Boyd Brothers do with great joy.

This joy does not last for long as Sheriff Rathborne and his men have tracked Boyd Brothers. There is a huge shootout in the house of ill repute. Both sides start to lose men in this shootout, some of the ladies are killed in the crossfire as well. Then the sun goes down…

Out from the cellar of the house of ill repute comes Barnabas (Alan Rickman) and his brood of vampires. Shocked by the sudden appearance of Barnabas the shooting on both sides stops. James Boyd asks Barnabas who in the hell is he, to which Barnabas just simply waves his hand and with that simple wave of the hand one of Barnabas’ minions kills James. Robert stands in stunned silence as Barnabas walks over to Running Deer and thanks him for bringing him his supper. He tells Running Deer that eternal life shall be giving to him as soon as they finish off their guests.

An enraged Robert shoots Running Deer in the gut before he, Sheriff Rathborne, and the remaining members of the Boyd Brothers Gang and the posse decided to try to fight the Vampires. An intense battle ensues and members on both sides are lost. Finally, only Robert and Sheriff Rathborne are left to face off against Barnabas and a slew of him minions.

The duo do just that but not before Robert is bitten on the arm by Barnabas, before Robert stakes him with the leg of a table. It is hard to see what the public does not like about this trend setting film. A fantastic performance by Paul Walker has many talking awards for the leading man. The direction of Robert Rodriguez shown as well, even if there was some rumblings of actors and director disputes on set.

Overall Nowhere Town sets the bar not only for a genre that is relativly untapped in today's market (Western horror) but also sets the bar for movies in this cycle.

*No, seriously, it is

Frisky T-Rex Productions may have finally done something that hasn’t been done in a long time, put together a decent horror film. In “The Green Sheet” Matthew Fox plays an author and non-believer on all things super natural. To prove his point he goes to Mississippi where Janet McConnolly, played by Kathy Bates, lives and is convinced there is a green sheet in her house that is possessed. Unphased by her fears Dustin goes to bed at night only to be awaken by screams. What transpires next is a series of terrifying events that keep you jumping out of your seat. The twist as the end of the movie would suggest there may be a sequel, but while we enjoyed it, we don’t expect a sequel to be very appealing.

The bottom line is this was a decent film for this new company, and more importantly it may give a breath of new life to the horror genre. While it may have been a cheesy story, the great effects used and the timing of the “scream” scenes were executed perfectly. While it won’t be winning any awards, I do expect it to fair well at the box office.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

Revenue: 8 million dollars

The Effect:

The Horror genre is starting to catch fire, and as a result will do better than most films in the box office.

Matthew Fox now wants 30,000 per movie

Frisky T-Rex Productions now has a budget of 8,500,000

Using the updated plot from post 371:

Deadly Serious is another horror film of the many that seem to be coming out recently. This focuses on serial killer Jason Smith killing to get his show back. The film is a classic example of a good idea but bad execution. Most of the actors seem disinterested, with the exception of Eric Bana. Director Eli Roth seemed to have a hard time nailing this one down.

Betty White seemed horribly out of place, almost comedically so at times. The pacing seemed a bit off, and left the viewers wanting more of an explanation.

All in all I would say wait until Deadly Serious comes out on DVD, and then pick it up on Halloween. Good for a few scares, but that's all.

Rating: 1.5 out of 5 stars

Revenue: 1,500,000

Effects:

+ Eric Bana will perform better if his next role is a lead, as he feels he has earned that with this performance.

+ Betty White will not work any more horror films. (Which kills my idea for Tarnished Gold)

+ Eli Roth will now work for 100,000

Jaguar's Den Studios now has 1,525,000 dollars

Gave this a quick boost for being a horror film
