Big Time Wrestling (Golden Age Mod)

Recommended Posts

Main Event: Rip Oliver vs. Archangel (NWA Pacific Heavyweight Championship Bout)

leader of the clan victorious since his stable mates will not be

Match #1: The Clan vs. The Fantastics (NWA North American Tag Team Tournament Bout)

could be by DQ so they could be viable contenders should the Fantastics win it all. They are set up for a match with Grapplers so almost foregone conclusion here

Match #2: Eddie Guerrero vs. Don Bruise (NWA Pacific Northwest Television Title Bout)

Bruise winning the tv title would be a good swerve here

Dark Match #1: Angela Mosco, Jr. vs. Eddie Gilbert (NWA Pacific Northwest Light Heavyweight Tournament Bout)

battle of 2nd generation wrestlers - Hotstuff is just too good -- especially without Big Nasty in his son's corner

Dark Match #2: Scotty the Body vs. Tim Horner

Horner is the better wrestler here. Scotty will be a big deal some day, but needs to learn a few things first from veterans like Tim

NWA Pacific Heavyweight Championship Bout

Match Notes In his first defense of the NWA Pacific Heavyweight Rip Oliver and Archangel had a great match. The match had great action back and forth, with the crowd really getting into the match. The crowd really showed their hatred for Oliver and Dark Journey by hounding them all match and throwing paper and trash at them. The crowd thought the match was over and Archangel was the winner after he hit a big Superplex but Dark Journey dragged the referee out of the ring before he could get the three count. The referee aloud the match to continue even though he could have disqualified Oliver for Dark Journey’s move. The referee gets trapped in the corner between the two wrestlers knocking him to the mat. This allows Dark Journey to climb to top turnbuckle and she goes for a flying crossbody towards Archangel. Archangel catches her and the crowd is going crazy. Before anything could happen Oliver hits Archangel in the back of the head with the championship belt. Oliver rolls up Archangel and grabs on the tights for good measure as the referee gets the three count for Rip Oliver. *** ½

Rip Oliver makes defence number 1 of his NWA Pacific Heavyweight title.

Winner by Pinfall….. Rip Oliver at the 22:51 mark

[Grade 74]

Overall (73)

Show Notes:

PNW has been under the radar from the bigger promotions this whole team but that seems to be changing, as many wrestlers are being talking with the bigger promotions. More information of these developments will provided as they come.

I would really like to put Rip Oliver back into the Heavyweight title picture but he really struggles to get matches and promos into the 70’s. Hopefully the feud with Archangel will improve that.

I would also like to thank fullMETAL for making those awesome titles for me. Once again thank you.

If any of you who read this dynasty are good at making logo’s, I would love to talk with you as I’m trying to get a new logo to reflect the changes in the promotion that will affect after Wrestling Extravaganza.

Thank you for reading.

Arn Anderson vs. Bill Irwin

I have no real idea who Irwin even is so Arn goes forward.

Brett Sawyer vs. Rick Rude

Rude is doing more.

Mr. Olympia vs. Buddy Roberts

Pretty much a coin flip to me.

Ricky Morton vs. Buddy Rose

No way for Rose losing on the first round.

Brad Armstrong vs. Dick Slater

Slater is way above Brad on ladders

Robert Gibson vs. Kevin Sullivan

Another coin flip

Chris Adams vs. Black Bart

Adams is higher on the ladders.

Tim Horner vs. Terry Taylor

upper midcarder over lower midcarder.

Match #1: Eddie Guerrero vs. Sting vs. Eddie Gilbert (NWA Pacific Northwest Television Title Bout)

I expect Guerro to get past his 2nd title defense no matter who he´s opponents are.

Pre-Match: Scotty the Body vs. Brady Boone

Scotty has got much more TV time lately.

Pre-Match: Sid Vicious vs. Leroy Brown

Hard do go against Sid but he´s just opener right now.

<p>Jimmy Snuka Classic Tournament (any titles are on the line)</p><p> </p><p>

First Round: </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Arn Anderson</strong> vs. Bill Irwin</p><p>

The Long Rider is a good one to push Arn and get him over.</p><p> </p><p>

Brett Sawyer vs. <strong>Rick Rude</strong></p><p>

Sawyer still has ring rust</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Mr. Olympia</strong> vs. Buddy Roberts</p><p>

He could go all the way!</p><p> </p><p>

Ricky Morton vs. <strong>Buddy Rose</strong></p><p>

Rose's Army vs Rock & Roll Express = gold.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Brad Armstrong</strong> vs. Dick Slater</p><p>

Slater is solid, but drug use keeps him from being a superstar. The Armstrong curse does not exist in the PNW and Brad advances to face Sullivan</p><p> </p><p>

Robert Gibson vs. <strong>Kevin Sullivan</strong></p><p>

Sullivan put over Punky Morton earlier, Gibson returns the favor here. Let your singles stars shine</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Chris Adams</strong> vs. Black Bart</p><p> </p><p>

Tim Horner vs. <strong>Terry Taylor</strong></p><p>

sets up Taylor vs Adams in reprise of their age old feud.</p><p> </p><p>

While it makes sense to push Rose as the winner of the event, he's already made in PNW and this is a chance to grow a new star. A lot will depend on who is looking to bolt. I'm looking to the winner of Olympia-Rose to win it all, thought Brad Armstrong could be a sleeper..</p><p> </p><p>

Match #1: <strong>Eddie Guerrero</strong> vs. Sting vs. Eddie Gilbert (NWA Pacific Northwest Television Title Bout)</p><p>

great atmosphere to build a Sting vs Gilbert feud (2 former stablemates in the old UWF) while Eddie chalks up another defense</p><p> </p><p>

Pre-Match: Scotty the Body vs. <strong>Brady Boone</strong></p><p>

dark match, Scotty still learning. Boone can make waves in your midcard</p><p> </p><p>

Pre-Match: Sid Vicious vs. <strong>Leroy Brown</strong></p><p>

Sure, Sid is the big name. BUT Bad Leroy Brown can be very useful. He'll need some wins like this in order to do so though.</p><p> </p><p>

Pre-Match: Angelo Mosca Jr. vs. <strong>John Tenta</strong> </p><p> </p><p>

BTW. was good to see Oliver carry 70ish rated promos and match in the last card. You need him to be able to headline in Buddy's absense</p>

I will go with the majority and say AA is going to be the eventual winner. Mostly because he was one of my favorites when I was a kid.</p>

From what I have found Triple Threat matches had started in the 50's. I believe they were called three-way matches during that time and not rare but not something seen everyday.

The Fantastics (Tommy Rogers and Bobby Fulton) got the biggest cheers of the night. The crowd really enjoyed the match but the stalling techniques of The Grapplers (Rick Rude & The Grappler) seemed to stall the flow of the match. The Grappler was able to hit the Loaded Boot on Rogers to earn his team the victory at the 8:54 mark. 48

Main-Event: Mr. Olympia vs. Buddy Rose

Mr. Olympia came to the ring with his newly won NWA North American Heavyweight Title and had the crowd eating out of his hand. Buddy Rose was clearly hated by the fans, which trash being thrown at him. The match went back and forth with no clear advantage to either wrestler. The crowd went home happy, as Mr. Olympia was able to submit Rose to the Boston Crab at the 16:19 mark. 52

The PNW presents the Summer Tour from the Iowa Field House in Iowa City, Iowa on Saturday July 13th. 75 came to the event.

Dark Match: Marty Jannetty vs. Chris Champion

Marty Jannetty used his superior speed to overwhelmed Chris Champion in this fast paced match. Jannetty finished the match with the Rocker Dropper at the 6:14 mark. 40

Match: Brady Boone vs. Carl Styles

Brady Boone and Carl Styles used their good chemistry to put on a very good wrestling match but the crowd did not care about either wrestler which gave the match a funeral home experience. Boone hit the Moonsault at the 5:36 mark for victory. 24

Match: Grizzly Jack vs. Art Barr

Grizzly Jack mauled Art Barr early, which Barr is never able to recover. Jack hits a big Double Arm DDT for the victory at the 5:50 mark.

Match: Archangel vs. Kevin Sullivan

Archangel and Kevin Sullivan used brutality and technical wrestling to get the crowd back into the show. Sullivan tried to cheat his way to victory but missed a Double Stomp allowing Archangel to recover and hit the Hellbreaker for the victory at the 8:10 mark. 59 Kevin Sullivan is improving in Technical skills.

Match: Terry Gordy vs. Arn Anderson

The crowd was on fire when Terry Gordy and Arn Anderson entered the ring. The crowd loved Arn Anderson but also gave Terry Gordy some cheers as well. Anderson looked to go for the Spinebuster but Gordy hit low blow putting Anderson on his knees. Gordy takes this chance and rolls-up Anderson, while holding onto the tights to cheat his way to victory at the 10:02 mark. 67

Main-Event: Billy Jack vs. The Grappler

Billy Jack was loved by the crowd while The Grappler was hated by the crowd. The Grappler tried to use his head to overcome the power of Billy Jack. Billy Jack’s power was too much as The Grappler found himself trapped in the Full Nelson at the 13:03 mark. 60

Match Notes: Chavo Guerrero and Brad Armstrong start the show with a fast paced match with solid-in ring action. Bill Watts and Robert Gibson walk to the ring. Each with their end down and a sad frown on their face.

Bill Watts: Ricky Morton will not be continuing in the NWA North American Tag Team Tournament, so there where two choices given to me and Robert here. We can forfeit the match against the Fabulous Freebirds or we can find a replacement for Morton. So after a long decision we decided to continue on in the tournament and have Arn Anderson take Ricky’s place.

Arn Anderson comes walking to the ring and gives Robert Gibson a high five.

Match Notes The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) and The Grapplers (Rick Rude & The Grappler) had a good match with some great action segments thrown in during the match. The crowd loved the action but did have some times when they were quite during the match. Rogers got trapped in the wrong corner during the match and it took several attempts to for Rogers to escape and bring in Fulton. Fulton was able clean house but he and Rogers missed the Rocket Launcher on Rude when The Grappler was able to move Rude out of the way. The Grappler then nails Fulton with the Loaded Boot and throws him out of the ring. Rude then hits the Rude Awakening on Rogers, giving The Grapplers the victory at the 12:08 mark. ** ¼ The Grapplers move into the finals of the NWA North American Tag Team Tournament. Tommy Rogers is improving in Rumble skills.

Rip Oliver Interview

http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_RipOliver.jpg

Rip Oliver: Since you cannot beat me in a singles match Archangel you want to face me in a tag match now. I have a good mind to ignore you, as people like you have no place in my ring with me but I’m in a generous mode. So next week I will choose a partner and you may choose one as well and we will meet in this ring. So why not burn to two worthless Portland wrestlers.

Match Notes Bill Watts comes to the ring with Arn Anderson and Robert Gibson. The Fabulous Freebirds (Terry Gordy & Buddy Roberts) come to the ring hated. The match went back and forth at the beginning with some great action but soon Gibson got trapped by the Freebirds. The crowd was going crazy for Morton to tag Anderson but the Freebirds was able to stop it every time. A double suplex on Gibson seemed to end the match but Anderson makes the save just in time. Gordy starts complaining to the referee over the interference, allowing Gibson to finally escape Roberts and make the tag to Anderson. Anderson starts going crazy on the Freebirds. Gordy and Anderson spill to the outside of the ring, leaving Gibson and Roberts alone in the ring. Roberts misses a clothesline attempt allowing Gibson to roll Roberts up and getting the victory at the 12:04 mark. ** ¼ Robert Gibson and Arn Anderson move into the finals of the NWA North American Tag Team Tournament. Robert Gibson is improving in Performance skills.

Billy Jack: Next week I will make my first defense of the NWA Pacific Northwest Heavyweight championship belt, the greatest belt in the world. Too many hearts in Portland cherish this belt Irwin, I will never see heart destroyed by you and yours goons of Rip Oliver Clan. You will not or cannot destroy the PNW. Portland wrestling will live forever in hearts of everyone here and I will carry this belt with the honor it deserves.

Match Notes Bill Watts comes to the ring with Mr. Olympia. Mr. Olympia is not well known in Portland but he was greatly cheered as he is facing Buddy Rose who is hated with great disdain. Mr. Olympia comes out and controls the match early but cannot get a three count on Rose early. This inability of Olympia to pin Rose early allows Rose to make his comeback. Rose clotheslines Olympia out of the ring and hits a big suplex, causing Olympia to scream in pain. Rose seems to like this sound, as he goes after a chair but Bill Watts is there to stop it. Rose then hits Watts with the chair but this allows Olympia to sneak behind Rose and hits a big slam on the outside to Rose. Olympia slides Rose back in and goes for the Boston Crab. Rose is trying to break free, when Col. DeBeers comes running into the ring and starts attacking Olympia. The referee has no choice but to call for the bell at the 18:19 mark in the match. *** ¼ Mr. Olympia makes defence number 1 of his NWA North American Heavyweight title.

Winner by Disqualification….. Mr. Olympia at the mark 18:19 mark.

Show Notes:

The NWA North American Tag Team Tournament is at its final match. I thought about changing my plans with Morton being injured but decided to keep them with Arn Anderson gaining more of a push with Robert Gibson.

The NWA Pacific Northwest Light Heavyweight is coming along nicely with Eddie Gilbert facing Art Bart the next round and Chavo Guerrero facing Brady Boone in the next round. The final four matches in the first round of the tournament will take place next week. I think I have changed my mind on the winner 4 or 5 times so far but I think I’m happy with what I have right now.

Expect to see the stables feuds getting more attention as at World War II it will be the end with a big War Games match between the stables. Hopefully everyone will still be in the company as next week all announce the wrestlers that will be leaving the PNW due to the WWF, JCP, Japan and Mexican promotions taking my talent.

Thank you for reading.

first off - I liked the makeshift team of Gibson and Anderson. that's exactly the kind of team that would give Freebirds fits and be able to beat them (interesting how the elite tag teams never liked to lose to other top notch teams but didn't mind dropping matches when facing a pair of singles stars thrown together). Plus this gives Freebirds something to complain about to save face ("we trained for Rock and Roll, we were prepared for that Punk Morton not the Enforcer. It's just not fair and we demand another chance")

Main Event: Billy Jack vs. Bill Irwin (NWA Pacific Northwest Heavyweight Championship Bout)

the hero of PNW

Match #2: Rip Oliver & Mystery Partner vs. Archangel & Mystery Partner

Oliver has been getting the best of this feud, so time for AA to even the score a little bit

Pre-Match: Marty Jannetty vs. Dean Malenko (NWA Pacific Northwest Light Heavyweight Tournament Bout)

Pre-Match: Vinnie Valention vs. Mando Guerrero (NWA Pacific Northwest Light Heavyweight Tournament Bout)

Pre-Match: Robert Gibson (taking Ricky Morton’s spot) vs. Sean Royal (NWA Pacific Northwest Light Heavyweight Tournament Bout)

New Breed needs to score some kind of win to get some footing in the PNW. Gibson being a last minute replacement and having his focus on the tag team tournament could give Royal the edge he needs (and with dubious means sets up a nice little feud with Rock and Roll (or Rock & Arn) vs New Breed

I like Olympia's logic in regards to a Sean Royal victory, that being said I just do not see it happening. Robert Gibson is the bigger star and as such I think he picks up the W here.

Then you will see that I have won the war, that I’m the greatest champion in the history of wrestling. When this happens I will change the face of PNW, change it to the new UWF, the world will be mine.

Match Notes Ross and Stasiak argue over the ability of Shawn Michaels. Ross believes he could become of the biggest young stars in the sport, while Stasiak believes he’s some punk just looking to meet pretty teenagers. Guerrero attempts a powerbomb early, but Michael’s armdrags out in mid-air and works on Guerrero’s arm to keep him grounded. Several more armdrags and the fans are beginning to get into the match. Guerrero moves out of the way of a clothesline and hits a quick suplex. Guerrero runs to the ropes, jumps off the middle rope and hits a flying clothesline on Michaels. Guerrero hits another suplex and gets a two-count and Guerrero is back in control of the match until he misses a corner splash. Michaels gets a two-count after hitting a snapmare and then an elbow drop. Michaels goes to the top rope and goes for a missile dropkick but Guerrero avoids it, Michaels crashing to the mat. Guerrero quickly goes for a slam but Michaels counters to a small package for the three-count at the 6:54 mark. b]* ½[/b] Eddie Guerrero is improving in Performance skills.

Match Notes Al Mandril and Chris Adams have a small little feud over last couple of months. Stasiak starts talking about how Mandril hates children, which Stasiak agrees that children have no business coming to a wrestling show. Coss disagrees with that statement saying that children are the future of the sport. The match was a quick non-descript match with very little beginning added to the feud. Adams missed a Superkick, allowing Mandril to roll him up for the pin at the 5:58 mark. * ½ Chris Adams is improving in Technical skills. Al Mandril is improving in Performance skills.

Archangel Interview

http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/th_no_picture.jpg

Archangel: Rip Oliver we are not done. I have made it my personal mission to destroy you and the Clan. It begins to tonight, as I have asked Sting to be my partner tonight. You want to destroy the PNW, I want to destroy you.

Match # 3

http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/th_no_picture.jpghttp://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_Sting6.jpg Archangel & Sting vs. http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_RipOliver.jpghttp://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_MikeMiller.jpg Rip Oliver & Mike Miller

Match Notes Archangel starts off quickly and works over the arm of Mike Miller. Miller tags in Rip Oliver and Archangel starts working over his arm. Oliver pulls one of the oldest tricks in the book and starts limping on his leg and goes to the apron. Stasiak starts calling for a doctor but Ross is arguing that Oliver is faking. Archangel falls for the trick and goes after Oliver to the apron. Oliver goes for shoulder to the gut but Archangel gets a knee up hitting Oliver’s head. A suplex from the apron to inside the ring gets a near-fall for Archangel. Archangel tags in Sting and the face team uses quick tags even though they have never tag teamed before. The momentum shifted when Oliver sends Sting into a corner and Miller hits a knee to the small of the back. Oliver starts taunting Archangel, drawing him into the ring, distracting the referee. Miller sends Sting over the top rope to the outside, then he slams on the hard floor and throws him back into the ring. Oliver gets several two-counts from this. The heel team then successfully cuts the ring in half, isolating Sting from Archangel. The Clan focuses on the back of Sting, as Miller hits a backbreaker and a double knee drop to the back. Sting is able to hit a big double clothesline on both Oliver and Miller coming off the ropes, allowing Sting to crawl to the waiting tag of Archangel. Archangel hits a big powerbomb on Miller from the hot tag and covers him in a pin attempt. The referee is unable to start the count, as he is busy with Oliver and Sting near the ropes. Archangel goes to help Sting with Oliver, allowing Miller to sneak out of ring to grab his 2X4 from the outside. Miller comes back into ring and goes to Archangel with the 2X4 but Archangel avoids it forcing Miller over the top rope, leaving Oliver alone in the ring. A Double DDT on Oliver from Archangel and Sting, allowing Archangel to get the three-count from the referee. ** ¼ Rip Oliver is improving in Rumble skills. Mike Miller is improving in Technical skills.

Winner by Pinfall….. Archangel & Sting at the 10:02 mark.

Match Notes Bill Irwin comes out with quick punches but Billy Jack just shrugs them off. Jack hits Irwin with a big running clothesline and then drops a knee to the face of the down Irwin. A suplex gets two and Jack is still in control of the match and stops an Irwin comeback with a clothesline once again for another near-fall. Obviously needing a breather Jack sends Irwin over the top rope to the outside. Slowly Jack goes to the outside but Irwin was there waiting for him and tries to brawl with Jack. Jack immediately goes back on the offensive and sends Irwin back into the ring and hits an elbow for a near-fall. Jack sends Irwin into the corner and goes for a superplex. Irwin fights it off and hits a flying clothesline from the second rope for a near-fall. Irwin just could not get any constant offensive as Jack quickly had Irwin falling back into the corner. Jack avoids the superplex this time a hits a running powerbomb out of the corner. Jack stands around waiting for Irwin to stand up, with the crowd going crazy as it knows what’s coming next. Billy Jack locks in the Full Nelson, giving Irwin no choice but to submit to the pain at the 11:50 mark. *** ½

Show Notes:

The PNW would like to say farewell to the following wrestlers for many great matches and time here in the PNW. Billy Jack has had his last match here in the PNW as he has signed with the WWF. It was a hard choice in giving the belt up or letting him leave with a victory but I figured letting him leave with the belt vacant could help add to the storyline of the survival of the PNW. Can the PNW survive without a champion to call its own?

Eddie Guerrero has decided to head over to Japan, with his scheduling conflict in Japan we had to let him go. Also moving over to Japan is Grizzly Jack (Mick Foley). Others wrestlers moving to the WWF on written contracts are Chris Adams, Dick Slater and Kevin Sullivan, the darkness rising team will be gone from the PNW. Woman will still be the manager of Eddie Gilbert but I will give Eddie and Woman a new gimmick after the NWA Pacific Light Heavyweight Tournament. Moving into JCP is Scott Peterson and Ron Bass. Ron Bass was let go but we will try and work around the scheduling for Peterson when we can, as he is a big part of the tag team scene here in the PNW. Angelo Mosca Jr. is moving on to the touring promotion AGWP in Canada and was let go. LeRoy Brown and Carl Styles contracts had ended and they were not resigned due to their demands in raising their salaries.

Many new wrestlers will be debuting new gimmicks in the coming months. Al Mandril, Eddie Gilbert, Woman, D.J. Peterson, Rip Oliver, Brady Boone, Curtis Thompson and Rex King are the wrestlers right now to receive new gimmicks.

The New Breed is been added to the tag team ranks but will not be the future gimmick they have elsewhere in wrestling.

The NWA Pacific Northwest Light Heavyweight Tournament next round match-ups are Eddie Gilbert facing Art Bart, Chavo Guerrero facing Brady Boone, Shawn Michaels facing Dean Malenko and Mando Guerrero facing Robert Gibson.

The next touring promotion will be heading into the Canada for the month August, dates and cards will be announced shortly.

It sucks to see you lose so much talent at once, but I guess that is the price you pay for being a smaller promotion. Diary wise it is hard to deal with that but I find when I am playing as a smaller promotion and I get raided, it makes the game fun. Because now you have to find replacements and change storylines around.

I just have a feeling that Sting will not pick up two wins in one night.

This is a tough call for me because IKP might be more over than Scott (I do not know, I am just thinking he.) but I have a feeling that Scott will pick up the win.
