TEW Magazine: Interview With An Owner

Recommended Posts

Sure- can't promise it'll be especially quick (I have a lot of work on at the moment in that blasted real life thing that keeps interfering in game time), but it shouldn't take that long. How do you want it done after that? Should I PM the questions to Wallbanger, then send his responses onto you (I haven't used fictionplus, so it'd be a bit beyond me)?

Go ahead and PM me with questions - I'll respond and send back to you and if you have follow-up questions we'll just go back and forth until it's the way you like it. I can post the transcript in FictionPlus or we can send it to BoomKing to use.

I need to get my PPV written and posted too, there may be content there you want to reference...that will give you some time to deal with "real life" (believe me, I understand!).

Posting it in segments seems like a good idea to me, so I say go for it.

That was an interesting interview, and despite never having gotten into the C-Verse much myself, I'm now planning on giving LoNdOn's diary a look after reading it. I think this is going to be a really neat project, BoomKing. Just let me know if I can contribute in any way.

Great to see it has whet the appetitie. I guess that is the objective of this thread after all. I had a blast being the interviewee and hope to be involved again if possible down the road.

Sorry to kind of drop the big interview and run guys! Just got it finished and had to head to work. Glad to see the majority of you liked the format and the interview in general.

That was awesome... And Im a guy that doesnt really get into c-verse... Mark me down as another that like to participate as interviewer and interviewee''

Also, was pretty cool to see someone dig up The old "In this Corner" thread from 2007... I completely forgot about that, and now am really greatful to my wife, who has dealt with me on these forums for 4 years now :-)

Glad to have you on board Oldschool! Hope that the interview will help you get into LoNdOn's amazing diary. I would love to interview you or have you involved in any capacity you see fit!

I had a read through some of the "In This Corner" thread and it was all great stuff. Hope this can be half as entertaining as your pioneering work. Your wife is a lucky devil in my book!

That was very fun.

Good job.

Merci Yuu Onuki!

Say my name and I shall appear!

It is possible to post links in it. You just need to highlight some text, and then click the Insert/Edit Link button (top right-hand side when editing text, second row right-hand side when editing dialog) which will allow you to paste a link into it.

Of course, you could most likely just paste the url into the editor and if all goes according to plan (I haven't tested it) the GDS forum will automatically convert it to a link. However! That will mean that you won't be able to use images for the background (as that requires turning off "automatically parse links in text" which does that feature)

EDIT: Oh, and as it stands, I enjoyed the interview and am all for you posting it in segments to allow everyone a chance in the spotlight (plus it will give you some breathing room). It's a great concept that acts as a bridge between all the separate diaries which is pretty fantastic

As if by magic, he appears by candlelight, smelling of Cabury's roses and aromatic crispy duck, the almighty wizard Crayon! I'm glad that linkage is possible because I love using your tool, Crayon. Wait...that doesn't sound right.

Can't believe I didn't realise you could put links in FictionPlus, my idiocy knows no bounds.

Yeah, that would be great, 1PW fan! This is the kind of natural progression of the idea that I hope we see more of. I'm more than happy to transcribe your interview if you want to send it to me, yeah! Really glad to have you involved!

On behalf of Mr Tyler, I just wanted to inform everyone that he had a blast with the interview. He would have said this himself but as you all know, he is a busy man at present (Edd Stone is seemingly trying to teach Eddie Peak how to breakdance as I write this, when in actuality, Edd is just teasing the fun-loving giant into smashing various pieces of equipment ). Obviously Eric was not as amused as the young Canadian who was practically rolling on the floor when Peak nearly decapitated poor Jasmine Saunders with some sort of spinning kick botch. Jasmine ended up spilling her coffee down her nice white dress which only made Edd howl that much more!)

Apparently BoomKing's interview style proved popular in the offices of TCW. Furthermore, I have been instructed to say that Mr Tyler is more than willing to participate in further activities if the opportunity should ever arise. Eric hopes that his answers made for interesting reading.

I must say, Mr Tyler was a real pleasure to interview. I hope he feels I did him justice! Mr Tyler was a true professional, refusing to go into business for himself, and is a great asset to your company. I would be more than happy to have him return to the pages of The TEW Times at some point down the line, and look forward to a great working relationship with your company.

Wow, awesome stuff!

I can't keep a diary going to save my life, but would be interested in interviewing someone maybe if there was an opportunity and you were looking for someone to do that.

Glad you liked it Jaded. If you really want to interview somebody or provide anything else, please feel free to PM me. Was there anybody in particular you wanted to interview? Perhaps we could set that up via this thread, or perhaps you could PM that person. Conversely, if anybody wishes to be interviewed by Jaded, perhaps they could PM him directly? It would be great if this thread/magazine could get people talking outside of the confines of their own diary. Personally, I feel there are a lot of great writers around here that wouldn't have necessarily crossed my path (or perhaps I haven't crossed their path,) so I'm relishing the opportunity of talking to them about their diaries, characters, shows, etc.

Glad to see you have set this up between yourselves. I look forward to seeing the results! Again, if you want to forward it to me, that's fine, but feel free to post it yourselves! I'm genuinely excited to see what you come up with.

That was really neat! Great work from interviewer and interview..ee, both.

Cheers Blake! LoNdOn's part in all this should certainly not be overlooked. In fact, he did all the work really! All Hail LoNdOn!

Yeah, I think segments is the way to go. That also allows others to post their own interviews etc.

Glad you enjoyed the interview and that it has piqued your interest in the C-Verse. Really hope you give LoNdOn's diary a try. Afterall, that is the main objective of this thread, getting people interested in diaries they have not yet dipped their toes into. Any contribution you wish to make would be greatly appreciated. That goes to anybody. Any suggestions you have will always be greeted with open arms.

Great to see it has whet the appetitie. I guess that is the objective of this thread after all. I had a blast being the interviewee and hope to be involved again if possible down the road.

Glad you enjoyed being interviewed. And thanks again for being the lab rat and being the very first of hopefully many interviews. I'm sure they will adapt and evolve over time, but I'm glad to have had somebody like you as my first as you were always encouraging with my questions and really got into character. I hope all future interviewee's provide as much info as you did. The pleasure was all mine!

Finally, I'd just like to say that I am overwhelmed by the support for this guys. You really are a great bunch of people, which makes doing something like this all the more enjoyable. I really do appreciate every comment that has been posted in this thread, and I urge you to show as much love as you are for this to LoNdOn and his great diary. Please take the time to post in his diary and tell him you are enjoying it (if you are!) and get your predictions in for Total Mayhem XV before it's too late!

How will the nominations work? Do we just vote for our favourite match, top three in order etc.? Should we post the nominations in here or send them via PM?

I must admit I quite like the idea of reading highlighted matches from various diaries to get a taste for the style of writing etc. Hopefully I can get one of mine in there soon. However, if it is based upon match grades, Phanton Stranger will win every time he is one of the options. The number of A*s the man gets is terrifying. :p

Sorry for the confusion! Well, Iwas thinking maybe just post in the thread, but maybe a secret ballot is more fun? Yeah, sod it, PM me the letter of your choice please.

Oh, and the editor is wary of becoming too TCW biased, hence no matches from your latest show!

Hopefully this will give people an idea of what's going on briefly in a variety of diaries. After I posted this, Ithought maybe I shouldn't reveal the outcome of the matches? It would be easy enough in futures to say versus instead of beats!

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining that I didn't have a match on the list; far from it. I like the way it highlights the work of others for me to enjoy. I'll be sure to read the listed matches tomorrow and PM my decision.

I like having the outcomes.

It gives it a digest/report feel.

J is for 5SSW.

Ah, I see now. :)

Good fun.

Vote PM'd

But have to admit

Over 2 years of game time and 2 years of diary time for Final Countdown... Corino winning that title is awesome in that it was brutal and clean... And the storyline of it coming full circle of how Homicide started this choking thing out and Corino finishing it, is great story telling!

Of course, I mstill havent read "The bacon on a pole match" and should because that just sounds awesome

Thanks, Oldschool! Admittedly that wasn't the plan all along, but once the winner of the prediction contest selected the dog collar stipulation as his prize, the symbolism of Corino using the chain to return the favor was just too good an opportunity to pass up. Glad you enjoyed it!

BoomKing, I was going to agree with your idea of not revealing the results of the matches in the future, but I think Yuu Onuki makes a good point. I guess what I'm saying is that I think both options have merit, so this post isn't going to help you at all. :D

I'm going to check out the matches I haven't yet read before submitting my pick.

THOOONNNNGGGGGGGGG

Well, someday. *sighs*

I half-want to put my Let's Play diary into the list of potential interviewees, if only because of the awkwardness of the interviews.

Because the diary isn't in kayfabe. At all.

How do you determine the "Matches of the Week", btw?

Thanks for your continued Support fella's! (And possibly lasses, who knows?)

BoomKing, if you're cool with it (and if he's interested in being interviewed), I'd like to take a try at interviewing Oldschool. I think this would be an interesting point in his diary for something like this.

Of course that's cool! Go ahead, I'm sure it will make epic reading.

Thankyou angeldelayette for pointing out an error that occurred in issue #1 of The TEW Times. I am pleased to inform you that the person responsible has been fired...from a cannon. We are unsure at this time how this error slipped through our stringent quality control measures. All future copies of the issue will come without the error you mention.

There are PPV's I love. Then, there are PPV's like this one. A show against which all others must be judged, which is why it sits here at number one in this retrospective look at the best shows the wrestling world has to offer.

The Prologue alone, that preceeded the show and was spoken beautifully by GM at the time Tristram, is enough to give me goosebumps. It is a heartfelt speech which really sets the tone for the event. Everything about Starrcade is from the heart.

It was such a huge PPV that no PPV carrier at the time would agree to show it in it's entirety! Instead, they chose to split it into four parts, giving the many WCW fans a new section of the show every few days. Each match seemed to be the culmination of long, classic, multi-faceted storylines that ran through WCW television like water through your fingers. Elegant in their movement, yet impossible to grasp for longer than a fleeting moment, as they moved ever onwards towards Starrcade. Just take a look at the lineup:

Disco Inferno vs Diamond Dallas Page
Jushin Thunder Lyger vs Ultimo Dragon vs The Fallen Angel
Raven vs Eddie Guerrero
Eric Bischoff vs Ric Flair
Kevin Nash vs Scott Hall
Thrillapalooza( Billy Kidman and Jerry Lynn) vs Rey Misterio Jnr and Chavo Guerrero Jnr. vs The Human Suplex Machines (Taz and Scott Steiner)
Bret Hart vs Sting
Hulk Hogan vs Bill Goldberg
Chris Jericho vs Chris Benoit

Those matches on their own, without the stipulations and the build up, are equal to anything that has been put together before or since. I urge you, no, I beg you dear readers, to take the time to watch this PPV event for yourself as it is as close to perfection as this writer thinks we will ever witness.

Booker T can never be accused of favouritism when he includes the newly crowned TCW World Heavyweight champion in his top five! :)

I would also like to add that for those who were included in the top ten matches of the week, a big congratulations. Each one provided thoroughly good reading all around.
