Synticha
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/sep/07/russia-plane-crash-lokomotiv-icehockey This is a terrible piece of news. I can't believe that a whole hockey team was wiped from the earth in an instant. Many great players were lost including Pavol Demitra and Ruslan Salei. cappyboy
i may not be much of a hockey fan. Much less of a hockey fan outside the U.S. But I can't imagine what the surviving management and fan base must be going through. This is just pure insanity that something like this could happen and my deepest condolences go out to the fans and front office of Lokomotiv. No fan base should ever have to suffer this. RIP to all the great talent who died and best of luck to the franchise when they get back to playing.
Bigpapa42
Horribly sad moment. The coach of the team played junior hockey in my hometown and I drove right near his hometown about a week ago.
Comradebot
Damn, just saw the news the only member of the team to survive the crash, Alexander Galimov, succumbed to his serious burns and passed away. Such a tragedy. My deepest sympathies to the city of Yaroslavl and all of Russia as a whole. If there's any good news out of this, the other survivor (flight attendant Alexander Sizov) has been moved out of intensive care and is expected to survive.
